Review: May 23 was my due date for the next month. I paid my payment then the next day my son was arrested so I called cricket to cancel my phone and have it credited to my account. When I called on May 24 to cancel my phone they said they would cancel my phone and credit the account. Today June 10, 2013 I went online to check my bill and saw that they did not cancel or credit my account. I then called cricket again. spoke to [redacted] He stated that the account was not canceled and I was not able to get my credit. He refused to give me to a supervisor said that he is considered a supervisor and that I was unable to get a credit. I told him the previous representative had assure me that I would get my money back due to the fact it was only one day since I paid and was unable to get the phone back due to the fact the police now had it. [redacted] then said it is crickets policy that they do not give a refund back for any reason and could not get it back. Now I am out 65 for a phone that did not get any use and am not satisfied with crickets customer service. The representative should have honored the first representative words. I feel I have been wronged!Desired Settlement: I feel that Cricket should honor that, I wanted that phone canceled and refunded to the account so that I could use the credit on my other phone on that account for the next month. I should not be out the money for a phone that was in the police custody and still is since I did call the next day after I paid the bill. So I feel I should get a month on my [redacted] phone to not pay for June payment because the credit would have paid for that month.

Online Complaint

Re: [redacted]

Revdex.com Complaint ID: [redacted]

Cricket Account No: [redacted]

Dear Sir/Madam,

This correspondence is in reference to a complaint filed by [redacted] regarding Cricket service. In her complaint, Ms. [redacted] states that Cricket advertises their devices falsely, claiming that they offer 4G speeds. She feels that the phones are poor quality. Ms. [redacted] states that she is being charged for a 4G plan but the phone is operating on 3G. Ms. [redacted] is requesting a refund for her service and is requesting a new phone.

We apologize to Ms. [redacted] for any inconvenience or poor service she felt she received. Cricket strives to provide excellent customer service and we regret when that high standard is not met.

All Cricket smartphones are designed to default to the best available data signal. This means customers will experience 3G speeds in 3G areas, but if 3G is not available, their device will switch to 1x.

4G capable smartphones work this way also, but their default network is the 4G network, rather than the 3G network. If a customer purchases a 4G capable device in a 3G area, they will experience 3G speeds with these devices, since the Cricket 4G signal is not yet available in their area. If the customer travels to a 4G area, they'll be able to take advantage of 4G speeds while they are there. When they return home, they'll again enjoy the 3G speeds available in their area.

As Cricket expands our 4G network, customers with 4G capable devices will automatically begin using the 4G signal as it becomes available. We do not have a list of upcoming 4G areas, but when her area becomes a 4G compatible, she will automatically receive 4G capabilities.

We are unable to provide a refund to Ms. [redacted] for her device or service. Monthly service charges are nonrefundable, per Cricket’s Terms and Conditions of Service (www.mycricket.com/termsandconditions). If she is not satisfied with her device, she may return to the store it was purchased from, to return or exchange it within 30 days from the original date of purchase.

We thank for her communication and trust that this explanation properly addresses her complaint.

Regards,

Review: I have been a long time customer since around Oct. 2004 plus or minus a year. My plans have always stayed the same even if the plan they were currently offering was cheaper or had more features. I never received automatic updates or added features to my plan even if the newer plans were cheaper. On the latest plan I have had, Cricket advertised and I still have it as a flat $45 plan which meant NO additional taxes and fees, just pay the flat $45 every month. I have two lines on my account.Recently, Cricket, without any written notice to me removed 411 directory service from my plan which was included previously and now want to charge me for it. Also, I had noticed that my monthly charges were starting to creep up which when I asked why, the Cricket employee reviewed my bill and did not understand why but told me to just keep paying my Flat Fee and they would take care of it. They did not and now my phone was temporarily disconnected because of a balance owed above and beyond my monthly Flat Fee.Upon visiting the Cricket main office in Boise, I was informed that I owed for roaming. Roaming? I never had roaming but Cricket put $5 in my flex bucket in case my loss of local service in Cascade, ID did not get fixed after I alerted them of the issue, which took about 3 weeks to fix. What Cricket did was add roaming to my phone instead of just depending upon the flex bucket account to pay for any roaming related to having service in Cascade while the system was not working correctly. Now that I got that extra charge removed and my service restored, I was told that all the extra charges were removed from my account and I would receive a $5 credit on my next bill. Also, he said instead of the Flat Fee of $45 that I have that I will also be paying an additional fee of $1 for each line on my account. I reminded the agent of my plan details and that they already took away my 411 service and now they are charging me extra fees that were to never be included in my Flat Fee plan.Desired Settlement: Remove all additional charges from my account since I have always paid my account on time in full and do not have any unpaid balance beyond the advertised "Flat Fee $45" plan. Remove all future additional charges from my billing since I have the "Flat Fee" plans on both lines on my account.I would appreciate restoring my 411 service also but if they would like to negotiate this to a few 411 calls a month being covered I would accept that.

Review: I purchased this phone online because Cricket was offering a $200.00 mail in rebate. When I ordered I requested that the rebate form be included with the phone: it was not. I left for vacation shortly after receiving the phone and after returning I went to the Cricket website to download the rebate form. The needed form was nowhere on the site. I then called Cricket support. After spending over an hour being passed around I was told the proper was being mailed to me and I could expect it within a week. After a month passed the form had still not arrived so I went to the Cricket store to obtain the form. The store confirmed that I was due a 200 dollar rebate but could not locate the form. The took my info and email address and said the would email the form. That never happened. I contacted the store again and was told the new manager was handling my case and would contact me soon. There has been no contact. I have called 3 other times and each time I have been told the manager was unavailable but that I would be contacted soon. At this point I feel that I will be strung along until I finally give up in frustration. I contacted [redacted] to dispute the original charge in hope that would motivate the company to honor it's commitment but was told the dispute period had passed. As of this filing I feel I have been defrauded by Cricket Wireless because I cannot obtain the form they require in order to issue my rebate.Desired Settlement: I want Cricket Wireless to honor their promise and either supply me with the form I need to comply with their rebate process or to credit my account in the amount of the 200 dollar rebate.

Review: My phone plan was actually through [redacted], although my phone was stolen and flashed by "THE FLASHING EXPERTS", which uses Cricket Wireless as their service. The flashing experts know exactly what they are doing, they are flashing phones that are stolen and knowing that these phones are stolen. I set up a message to play when my phone was turned on, stating that this phone was lost and left a phone number to please call. They as a business, disregarded that message erased my stuff and continued to let this person with my stolen phone, use my phone on their cricket service. When I called the company, the owner/manager straight up told me that they do not flash phones. Which to me doesn't make since to me they are called the flashing experts???? Anyway the manager/owner would not help me, said it was not his problem and I should be mad at the person who stole my phone. Like I am supposed to know who that person is, they walked into his store to put his service on my phone. He should have a record of who that person is and what their name/ phone number/ address is.Desired Settlement: I would like for these people, who should have called me with the information that a person was there to hook up my phone, to replace my phone, or give me the name of the person who was there to hook up my phone with their cricket service.

Review: This is a formal complaint against Cricket Wireless Telephone Service because they have failed to provide me with unlimited talk, text, and data services per the $55.00 per month plan that began in 2011. Specifically, on numerous occasions, I have attempted to send text messages and the messages were never sent; I have repeatedly received tan automated message, saying You Do Not Have Enough Money In Your Flex Bucket Account To Make this Call, Please Add Funds Now To Make This Call, whenever I attempted to make long distance calls; and I have been repeatedly denied full Web Access even though this is a part of the Unlimited Plan I signed up for with Cricket Wireless Telephone Service in 2011.Although I have repeatedly complained directly to Cricket about their failure to provide unlimited wireless service, I continue to have the same problems over and over again even after one of their authorized dealers supposedly fixed my phone and the service problems at the [redacted] Office located on [redacted] earlier this month (October 2013). As relief, I am asking that Cricket refund ALL of the $55.00 (& $45.00 payments) made during the period of 2012-2013, as compensation for false and misleading advertising that stated that my service plan included unlimited talk, text, data, and web browsing, and providing limited or no service throughout this same period, and deliberately not telling all Cricket Customers that their service plan was unlimited when it knew that it could not fulfill its contractual promises as evidenced by the inept services has provided me during the relevant period. Should this matter not be resolved or is disputed without cause I intend to file a Class-Action Complaint on behalf of myself and all other Cricket Customers seeking all or partial payments refunded that has already been paid to Cricket during the aforementioned period. I specifically request a full investigation of this matter by each and every organization and government agency mentioned above.Submitted by:[redacted]Desired Settlement: Refund of all payments made to Cricket by me during the period 2011-2013, or $660.00, and refund all other Cricket Customers who had service during this same period under the Unlimited Plan $660.00; Notify all current and former Cricket Customers that their claim of unlimited services was misleading and false; and immediately stop the automated System from blocking long distance calls made by customers who have the unlimited plan. Finally, Cricket shall post full page ads on [redacted]

Dear Sir/Madam,

This correspondence is in reference to a complaint filed by [redacted] regarding a refund for Cricket service. In his complaint, Mr. [redacted] states that he cancelled his Cricket account on November 19, 2013. The manager at the Cricket store told him that he would not get a refund for the payment he had just made in advance. His bill was not due until November 26, 2013. On November 21, 2013 our refund department sent Mr. [redacted] an email confirming the resolution of the requested refund. GOT A LETTER FROM CRICKET 3 WEEKS AGO SAYING I WOULD BE GETTING MY REFUND OF $33.09 IN 7 TO 10 DAYS AND HAVENT GOT IT YET I NEED MY REFUND SOON.

Review: During the summer of 2013 I changed my phone and service over to a smart phone. I never had a problem with the phone until January 1, 2014 when the battery would not hold the charge. At this time I called Cricket Wireless and was reminded that I have insurance on my phone therefore I could call the insurance and pay a deductible and get a new or refurbished phone. So I did so, but never during my call was I ever informed that the battery was considered to be an accessory and therefore when I received my new phone it came without the battery. So I called the insurance company back and inquired and that's when I was told that the battery was an accessory and I would have to purchase a new one. So I requested my $20.00 back and told them I would send back the new phone and that's when I was informed of their no refund policy. So now I'm stuck with two phones and neither works because I only have the bad battery and out of $20.00Desired Settlement: I would like to have my money back and return the new phone. Also I would like to know that they are being very clear on their policies before the customer purchases anything.

Review: My family and I went into the Cricket store located at 6460 N BLACKSTONE AVE STE 101, FRESNO, CA 93710. While we were waiting to be helped, a woman who obviously had mental issues was in the store acting completely crazy. She began cursing, and making threats such as "I'm ADHD, bipolar and on SSI, Cricket doesn't want to mess with me, they better just give me my motherf&@*ing money back." I had my adult son, my 18 month old son and my 9 month pregnant daughter in law with me. My adult son politely asked the woman to calm down and stop using obscenities in the presence of my 18 month old son. The woman replied, "I don't really care about that right now." She then began making threats against my older son saying she was going to call her brother to come up to the store and that "it would be lights out." This woman was going crazy and not one of the cricket employees did anything to ensure the safety of the customers. It was only when I stated I was calling the police did the supervisor, Victor, step in and ask the woman to calm down. When the woman refused to calm down, nothing more was said to her. I am absolutely appalled at the lack of concern for customer safety shown my the Cricket staff. I will never again go to a Cricket store and will be cancelling my service and going to AT&T.Desired Settlement: I would like a representative from the Corporate Office of Cricket to contact me to discuss this matter further.

Review: I accidentally paid my phone bill twice in one month. Not realizing I was carrying a balance, I kept paying my bill each month and on time. When my iPhone died this past weekend, I decided to go with another company and to cancel my Cricket Wireless service. I went into the local Cricket Store and informed the man that I wanted to cancel my service. He told me my balance was -$90 (meaning I've paid an extra $90 on my phone bill). I told him I'd like to cancel my service and I'd like a refund on the extra that I've paid.He told me I could cancel it, but I could not get a refund. I asked if I could buy $90 of merchandise and he said no. I asked him how I was I to use the extra $90 and he told me I had to buy a new phone and use it that way. When I told him I didn't want to use Cricket any longer, he said "Oh well. We don't give you your money back".Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of $90 since I paid the bill in good faith and Cricket never sent a bill showing that there was an excess balance. The only "bill" I received was a text each month saying I had a bill due. They never informed me of the excess and I think they should refund it to me. If I truly had a bill that was due, they should have said that no payment was needed this month or inform me that I had paid extra.

Review: My husband drove to frankfort, ky to purchase a cricket phone because where we live there are no local carriers that service here on a budget. My father in law has cricket and when he comes here he has perfect signal so my husband went to store and traded in a phone and bought a new one supposedly a Cricket phone. My husband purchases the plan and all and comes home. Needless to say after he told the lady he was tired of att because it did not have signal they had given hhim an attempt phone so therefore no signal once he got home. I contacted customer service via chat and they told me to try all these different steps and if it didn't work the phone was bad. We were told in our location we should have 4G coverage. Not only was there no cricket phone now on our welcome packet it has a different phone number than what we were given, he wasn't given a pin code so customer service will not help. So we now have to drive another 2.5 hours to visit the store and see why in the world after he explained att did not work they still gave home this phone. 2 days and all we want is a working phone to do our business with. First experience with this store in Frankfort, ky was horrible.Desired Settlement: Want the same number transferred to an ORIGINAL cricket samsung galaxy s4!

Review: My husband and I both purchased the samsung galaxy s4. The selling point was that the phones are 4g. We were told that At&t was purchasing cricket soon and we would soon have 4g. We bought the phones and have been waiting for the 4g to work. We heard that the merger had taken place yet our 4g isn't working so we went in to the store to find out why. We were told that in order to get 4g we will have to purchase new phones because the ones we just bought are not compatible with the new network. We can not believe that they can legally do this. Cricket told us or phones will be obsolete soon. We just spent almost 700$!Desired Settlement: We would like our phones replaced with the samsung galaxy s4 that are actually 4g.

Review: I have been a Cricket Wireless Customer for several years. This past year Cricket merged with At&T but is still operating their brick and mortar company as Cricket. As a consequence of the merge Cricket requires its current customers to switch networks, if they are in need of a new phone. I was on the family plan and I needed a new phone, but could not remain on the family plan unless I bought all new phones to merge to the new service and new family plan. Because I already paid my monthly payment I was credited $13.11. This is not my complaint even though it cost several hundred unnecessary dollars to merge. My complaint is when I did merge I lost all my funds in my flex bucket. I was not informed that because of the merge I would lose my flex bucket funds. On 6/30/14, I contacted Cricket Wireless ([redacted]) via online chat. [redacted] informed me that because of the merge I lost the flex bucket. I requested the $30 in my flex bucket be returned or credited back to my account. [redacted] informed me they do not do this and sorry for the inconvenience. I believe my $30 should be returned or credited back to my account. This is an unfair business practice. 1). I was not informed I would lose my flex bucket funds. 2). Its theft of monies. I could have had more money in the account and be in a much deeper hole.Desired Settlement: I would like my $30 credited to my account or returned to me. I paid this company $30 for a service that I did not receive. Just because they merged does not mean they lose all responsibility to their current customers.
