Review: I have been a Cricket Wireless Customer for several years. This past year Cricket merged with At&T but is still operating their brick and mortar company as Cricket. As a consequence of the merge Cricket requires its current customers to switch networks, if they are in need of a new phone. I was on the family plan and I needed a new phone, but could not remain on the family plan unless I bought all new phones to merge to the new service and new family plan. Because I already paid my monthly payment I was credited $13.11. This is not my complaint even though it cost several hundred unnecessary dollars to merge. My complaint is when I did merge I lost all my funds in my flex bucket. I was not informed that because of the merge I would lose my flex bucket funds. On 6/30/14, I contacted Cricket Wireless ([redacted]) via online chat. [redacted] informed me that because of the merge I lost the flex bucket. I requested the $30 in my flex bucket be returned or credited back to my account. [redacted] informed me they do not do this and sorry for the inconvenience. I believe my $30 should be returned or credited back to my account. This is an unfair business practice. 1). I was not informed I would lose my flex bucket funds. 2). Its theft of monies. I could have had more money in the account and be in a much deeper hole.Desired Settlement: I would like my $30 credited to my account or returned to me. I paid this company $30 for a service that I did not receive. Just because they merged does not mean they lose all responsibility to their current customers.

Re: [redacted]

Revdex.com Complaint ID: [redacted]

Cricket Account No: [redacted]

Dear Sir/Madam,

This correspondence is in reference to a complaint filed by [redacted] regarding Cricket service. Mr. [redacted] states that he recently purchased all new phones and merged to Cricket’s new network. He had already paid his monthly payment, but was only credited $13.11. He states that when he changed accounts, he lost all the funds in his flex bucket and was not informed of this. Mr. [redacted] is requesting a credit in the amount of $30.00.

We apologize to Mr. [redacted] for any inconvenience or poor service he felt he received. Cricket strives to provide excellent service and we regret when that high standard is not met.

Our records show that Mr. [redacted]’ account transferred to our new service on June 21, 2014. He received a credit to his bill for $30.10 for his flex bucket balance. Any overpayment for service charges due to migrating within the middle of the bill cycle, was applied to Mr. [redacted]’ account within two weeks of migration. Our records show that Mr. [redacted] received a migration credit of $128.11 on June 30, 2014.

We thank Mr. [redacted] for his communication and if he has any additional questions or concerns about his bill, we ask that he contact Customer Service (www.cricketwireless.com/contactus). Based on the aforementioned, we respectfully request that his complaint is closed as resolved.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Review: I accidentally paid my phone bill twice in one month. Not realizing I was carrying a balance, I kept paying my bill each month and on time. When my iPhone died this past weekend, I decided to go with another company and to cancel my Cricket Wireless service. I went into the local Cricket Store and informed the man that I wanted to cancel my service. He told me my balance was -$90 (meaning I've paid an extra $90 on my phone bill). I told him I'd like to cancel my service and I'd like a refund on the extra that I've paid.He told me I could cancel it, but I could not get a refund. I asked if I could buy $90 of merchandise and he said no. I asked him how I was I to use the extra $90 and he told me I had to buy a new phone and use it that way. When I told him I didn't want to use Cricket any longer, he said "Oh well. We don't give you your money back".Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of $90 since I paid the bill in good faith and Cricket never sent a bill showing that there was an excess balance. The only "bill" I received was a text each month saying I had a bill due. They never informed me of the excess and I think they should refund it to me. If I truly had a bill that was due, they should have said that no payment was needed this month or inform me that I had paid extra.

Review: I ordered Cricket wireless service on 09/22 with Nokia Lumia 630 with rebate of $50 that showed in their website. But when I submitted the rebate, it was denied and said that service was activated out of offer date. This is because the Rebate form shows offer date as 09/26 - 11/13 where as website has rebate from 09/12.I called the cricket customer service and they said they will send me a new rebate form with correct date, but I haven't received anything yet. Here is the link that shows offer valid for 09/12 to 11/13. https://www.cricketwireless.com/support/orders-and-activations/mail-in-rebates/c... when you click rebate form(English version), PDF show offer date from 09/26 - 11/13.This is the error in their system and I need my rebate credit. Thanks!Desired Settlement: Check or credit for $50 ( rebate amount).

Review: This is a formal complaint against Cricket Wireless Telephone Service because they have failed to provide me with unlimited talk, text, and data services per the $55.00 per month plan that began in 2011. Specifically, on numerous occasions, I have attempted to send text messages and the messages were never sent; I have repeatedly received tan automated message, saying You Do Not Have Enough Money In Your Flex Bucket Account To Make this Call, Please Add Funds Now To Make This Call, whenever I attempted to make long distance calls; and I have been repeatedly denied full Web Access even though this is a part of the Unlimited Plan I signed up for with Cricket Wireless Telephone Service in 2011.Although I have repeatedly complained directly to Cricket about their failure to provide unlimited wireless service, I continue to have the same problems over and over again even after one of their authorized dealers supposedly fixed my phone and the service problems at the [redacted] Office located on [redacted] earlier this month (October 2013). As relief, I am asking that Cricket refund ALL of the $55.00 (& $45.00 payments) made during the period of 2012-2013, as compensation for false and misleading advertising that stated that my service plan included unlimited talk, text, data, and web browsing, and providing limited or no service throughout this same period, and deliberately not telling all Cricket Customers that their service plan was unlimited when it knew that it could not fulfill its contractual promises as evidenced by the inept services has provided me during the relevant period. Should this matter not be resolved or is disputed without cause I intend to file a Class-Action Complaint on behalf of myself and all other Cricket Customers seeking all or partial payments refunded that has already been paid to Cricket during the aforementioned period. I specifically request a full investigation of this matter by each and every organization and government agency mentioned above.Submitted by:[redacted]Desired Settlement: Refund of all payments made to Cricket by me during the period 2011-2013, or $660.00, and refund all other Cricket Customers who had service during this same period under the Unlimited Plan $660.00; Notify all current and former Cricket Customers that their claim of unlimited services was misleading and false; and immediately stop the automated System from blocking long distance calls made by customers who have the unlimited plan. Finally, Cricket shall post full page ads on [redacted]

Review: On Saturday afternoon 5/24/2014 I was passing Cricket store at 536 E. Dunlap Phoenix, AZ 85020 with sign "We fix cell phones". I stop at the store to find out if they can replace on/off button on my HTC One phone, because it wasnt working properly, I had to push button very hard to make it work. So their answer was yes we can do that, I gave it to them the cellphone, they charged me $59.56 saying it will be ready on Monday. Monday the 26th was a Memorial day I went to pick up phone on Tuesday 27th. Guy told me that button was replaced but I still have to be gentle pushing it. I noticed right away that button wasnt replaced, they just adjusted button instead. They sweared that on/off switch been replaced. I took it home and in a few days I end up with same problem. I went back to the store and been asking the guys to get a refund of my money, but they refused. I asked for owners but they refused to provide any info, main guy in there told me he is the manager but wouldnt give me his own name, after arguing for some time he named himself "[redacted]". Guy told me That I have a Warranty for repair and I should leave cellphone again, we had a big argument between me and arrogant manager [redacted] before I decided to give him one more chance. So I left my cell with them once again. This time Manager"[redacted]" told me it will take some time and they going call me when it will be fixed. I drop my phone on Monday at the Cricket shop and didnt hear anything from them. One week later on Monday I decide go and see whats going on. I stop by the shop that evening, Manager "[redacted]"was busy with customer but as soon as he saw me, he reached and grub my phone, handing it to me. I took it from his hands asking question if they fixed it this time,"[redacted]" answered yes. I tried to push in on/off button right in front of "[redacted]" but switch button was loose and didnt work. I told the Guy that they didnt fix anything and damage the phone even worse. [redacted] started to blame me for breaking a button after first time they repaired the phone. He wouldnt admit that they just charge me for nothing. So work wasnt done at all, they refuse on refund of my money, and I stuck with broken phone. They are liars and con artists. This is a big fraud, we need take them out of business.Desired Settlement: $59.56 my money refund plus $100.00 for emotional damages, pain and suffering

Review: I added a secondary phone line for a potential employee because he stated he was having problems with his wife and did not have a phone. One of the potential employees in the group suspected that he was using the phone for the purpose of selling drugs as she had overheard a suspicious conversation. I confronted the individual and he informed me of the consequences of turning his phone off and not allowing him to be employed permanently and he attempted to physically assault me. He was then escorted from the premises and but the phone was not with him. I asked Cricket to turn off the secondary line that he used and the response from Cricket was that since the account was in a company name I would need to go to a corporate office to have the line disconnected. The corporate office for Cricket, located at [redacted], informed me that I could not remove him from my account and I needed to pay for both lines. I chose to not to pay for either line, and the phone number for our company is no longer in service. The primary number that was disconnected was already attached to our bank accounts and utilities and Cricket will not allow the number to be in service or paid for unless the secondary line is paid for and in service.Desired Settlement: No desire to do business with Cricket.

Review: I have tried several times over the past 8 months to cancel my month-to-month automatically billed phone contract. Cricket says that they must have an authorization ID number (AID) in order to cancel the account, and that they cannot/will not verify the account any other way. I got phone for my mother who used it a few months before she died. They say they can text me the AID to the phone, but the phone was with my mom and now I have no idea what happened to it. They refuse to email the AID to me, or allow me to change it on their website, even though they have my email address as the one associated with the account (I have emails from them for order confirmation to prove this.) They did offer that I could go to one of their brick and mortar stores to cancel the account, but he nearest one is 100 miles from where I live. They offered no alternative after that.Desired Settlement: I am going to talk to my bank about stopping payments to Cricket. I would like 8 months of payments refunded, but I doubt that Cricket will ever do so.

Review: I bought a samsung galaxy express on June 6 at the cricket store on 8350 Marbach Rd in san antonio, tx. I was not given a receipt for the phone that I paid over $400 for. When I asked the manager for the receipt she claimed cricket did not give receipts for products sold which makes no sense. She said she was going to close my old account and open a new one so I could send for the rebate. On July 5th I went in to buy another phone because my Galaxy was stolen. I bought a Nokia 520 and again I didn't get a receipt for that one either. I have been calling Cricket and no one has helped me, I keep calling and calling and I spoke to a Chris and he asked me to go back and the manager would give me a receipt after he talked to her. I went back and she could not give me a receipt for the Galaxy like I was promised but I got a receipt that looked phony for the Nokia. The manager kept saying I can't get into your old account to get the receipt. I told her I would call cricket again. I called again and gave the information for the 4th time to someone named Jose, he said he would send in the complaint and someone would call me and no one has called. Yesterday I called again and spoke to someone and she said they would review the complaint the call me. I havent heard from them yet. Do I need to go to the media with this to get someone to look into this? I want to know if the cricket manager kept the money I paid for the phones or what. They did say they did not show anything about me buying any phone on my account. Did the manager keep the money or what????Desired Settlement: I would like for someone to look into why this manager did not give me receipts for the phones, and if she did something wrong by this she should be held responsible for this.

Review: I am very upset because my daughter cell phone was cancelled and her phone was locked and couldn't be reactivated. My daughter went out of town on a trip to Ohio from 6/14-6/21. When she returned her phone number when called said it was an invalid number. So I went to the cricket dealer that I purchased the phone from to inquire about what was going on. The rep stated that the phone violated the terms of cricket wireless service. Customer service line was called and I spoke to the customer service rep was informed about the situation. The first statement the rep made was "I'm sorry your phone was accidentally cancelled. Then I said what can we do to remedy the problem? After several attempts and many conversation with managers at customer service and speaking with various representative, I still didn't accomplish anything. The rep stated that the phone violated the terms of cricket wireless service. The manager also stated that it was due to something fraudulent on my daughter part. Bottom line is that my daughter phone is cancelled and phone is locked so we have to purchase a new phone and start from scratch.Desired Settlement: To remedy the problem I would like my daughter to receive a phone equivalent to what she had previous and no charge for activation for the new phone and add my daughter back to my acct for the price I was paying at the start of the agreement. I was paying 83.92 for two phone lines on the same acct. My daughter had unlimited talk and text with data for $45.Also I would like for all of my details to my acct to stay the same as far as my phone even though the company has merged with AT&T.

Review: The service is horrible as well as the quality of Crickets broadband.I have a five gigabyte limit per month and am nowhere near reaching it yet my internet is running at a slow pace below what was advertised. I have tested it out in different locations but have received the same slow download and slow video streaming. This is by far the worst quality internet and should not be offered if it fails to provide even the basics of what is being advertised. Calling in and asking for help did nothing for me as the representative simply said it was my computer. The computer I currently own is a brand new gaming desktop that should have no trouble with using the full capacity of cricket.I have tested it out also at a family members with faster internet and it reaches the max advertised speed with no problems at all.Desired Settlement: Tell them to fix their internet or to stop offering something that can't even match what is advertised.

Complaint

Re: [redacted]

Revdex.com

Complaint No: [redacted]

Cricket Account No: [redacted]

Dear

Sir/Madam:

This

correspondence is in reference to a complaint filed by [redacted] regarding

Cricket Broadband service. In his complaint, Mr. [redacted] states that he is

dissatisfied with his Cricket Broadband service. He states that he has a five

gigabyte limit per month included in his rate plan, but is nowhere near

reaching it yet his internet is running at a slower pace than Cricket advertises.

Mr. [redacted] states that he has tested it out in different locations but receives

the same slow speeds when downloading or streaming video. Mr. [redacted] states that

he attempted to contact Cricket about this matter and was told it was his

computer. He states that he has a brand

new computer that he has tested with other wireless networks, and it reaches

adequate speeds without any problems. Mr. [redacted] is requesting that Cricket fixes

their internet or stop advertising a speed that he cannot achieve with his Cricket

Broadband device.

We

apologize for any inconvenience or poor service Mr. [redacted] he felt he received.

Cricket strives to provide excellent customer service at all times, and we

regret if that high standard is not met.

Cricket’s mobile data has always been sold with a

specific amount of full-speed data access and unlimited reduced-speed data

access. The amount of full-speed data is

noted for each rate plan in its list of features.

Full-speed data is data usage at the best

available speeds. Note that best

available speeds are always affected by the customer’s device, signal strength,

environmental conditions, and cell site congestion.

When Mr. [redacted] uses all of the full-speed data he

has purchased within a paid service period, Cricket doesn’t cut him off.

Instead, we allow him to continue using reduced-speed data for the remainder of

his service period. Reduced-speed data gives him access to all the same

applications and services as full-speed data but at slower speeds. We believe

this is the fairest way to keep everyone connected while allowing Cricket to

manage data usage on our network to provide the best experience for customers

still using the full-speed data they have purchased. Reduced-speed data is

typically equivalent to analog dial-up speeds.

In

reviewing Mr. [redacted]’s account we are able to see that he has exceeded his full

speed data limit each month since December 2012. Regarding Cricket’s broadband

service, Cricket does not guarantee its customer a broadband speed but provides

a range of speeds the customer may experience. Cricket also informs

customers that if their data usage harms the network or exceeds the usage level

they’ve selected per month, Cricket may reduce the customer’s broadband speed.

This speed control is clearly disclosed on all broadband advertising and is in

compliance with all [redacted] rules and

regulations. Additionally, once a customer’s speed is reduced it is

generally returned to normal by the end of the month.

Please

note that the data usage is more likely to exceed the rate plan usage level if

Mr. [redacted] downloads full length movies or TV shows excessively, large

quantities of music files, software applications, or if he uses peer-to-peer

file sharing programs, webcams, or similar high-bandwidth activities.

We

thank Mr. [redacted] for his communication and we trust this explanation resolves his

complaint.

Review: Cricket has failed to provide a signal to my home at times, and has been severely distorted since september 2013. Most often calls cannott be made to our phones from buffalo saying access code = ?? Cricket has been substandard since att bought them and stripped coverage to our home. This is unnacceptable and cricket will not respond with any resolution. I called the store over the next serveral days to get ahold of the store manager, [redacted], he was NEVER in. I tracked down his phone number from his employees and called his personal number. I explained my situation and he did nothing to help me, he said he didn't believe me and their store never does refunds for any reason even if it wasn't my fault. He was so rude and unhelpful that I wanted to speak to his personal boss, he lied to me and told me there was no body above him and refused to give me anybody else's name and number to take my complaint to. I told him I would take my complaint to the Revdex.com if he wouldn't hear me out and work with me, [redacted] said to give him 24-48 hours to figure everything out and he would call me back.
