Thank you so much for giving us a chance to get this taken care of! Glad we were able to work things out!

This is in response to Mr *** * *** to Revdex.com
Mr *** had brought his trunk into Jim Shorkey
Mitsbushi on Febuary with concern of leaking coolant
at this time our technician had check the vehicle and
found there was very little antifreeze in engine also
his serpentine
belt was
damaged from water pump failure also there is idler pulley for
serpentine belt also had failed
customer was instructed vehicle should not be driven due
to there could be damage to engine due to lack of coolant in engine customer
was advised of repairs and declined use of oem belt and idler pulley these
components are recommended because of the warranty they hold 12months 12,
milesThe water pump was paid for by
Mr ***s extended warranty also serpentine belt is not
covered by his warranty
In response to Mr *** oil usage this concern could be
caused due driving this vehicle low on coolant
this will cause engine to run hot and danage the engine
Sincerly

***, we are very happy we were able to speak with you yesterday and get all your concerns addressed along with handling everythingThanks for giving us that chance!

Per our GM: *** was advised that the 130% is based off of KBB fair market value. The salesman involved said he educated him in this manner, and if he was incorrect we will be sure to increase our level of training. We offer this as a service to benefit those who have negative
equity in their car, or those who just wish to sell their car out right and do not have the means of paying it off on their own. The advertising for 130% is also clear that it cannot be combined with other offers, as we are utilizing trade in incentives provided directly from the manufacturer to obtain these figures. The initial offer was a rough estimate without having knowledge of the condition of the car, that cost to bring it up to inspection or certification, and these costs have to be deducted. In no way is this advertising meant to mislead, but if the staff did not properly educate the customer on the details we apologize and will fix it moving forward through our efforts in training and educating our staff. We apologize for any inconvenience we may have caused

My name is *** *** and I am the Vice President of Sales for Jim Shorkey Mitsubishi in North Huntingdon, Pa I am writing you concerning a consumer complaint that was filed with your office for a *** *** (***) I have reviewed the customers statement as well as the
vehicle history from when it came into our possession and our most recent records we have during the consumer's ownership On or about March 25th, we traded in a Dodge Caliber with VIN: *** with 92,miles at the time of trade On March 25th, we put the vehicle thru our used car reconditioning process For this vehicle that process included a PA State Inspection from a ASE Licensed Technician The following Mechanical Work was performed on the vehicle: -PA State Inspection -Emission Inspection and Testing -Change Oil, Filter and Lube all fittings -Replace Wiper Blades -Wheel Alignment -Replace Front Rotors -Replace Plate Lights -Replace Front Struts -Replace Both Front Inner Tie Rod Ends As part of a PA State Inspection the Sub-Frame of the vehicle is inspected. In the event that there is a crack, a hole, or a subframe is deemed “bad” by the technician it would fail the vehicle for PA State Inspection and would have to be fixed prior to completing the PA State Inspection. Also, specifically concerning Model Year Dodge Caliber, Chrysler added additional coverage for the sub-frame covering any repair that on this vehicle was valid until December 5th of 2016. In the event that this vehicle had a bad subframe at the time of the inspection we would have been able to have the vehicle repaired at no cost to the dealership. There would have been no financial incentive for us not to repair/replace the subframe at the time of reconditioning and furthermore we have no desire to sell a vehicle with a bad subframe The reconditioning was completed and the vehicle was offered for sale on or about March 25th, On or about April 2nd, the consumer, *** ***, purchased the Dodge Caliber with VIN: 1B3HE78K97Dwith 92,miles at the time of purchase On or about May 9th, the consumer, *** ***, brought the vehicle in because she had hit a pothole and we under our goodwill policy Replaced a Sway Bar Link at no cost to the customer On or about July 6th, the consumer, *** ***, brought the vehicle in to our service department stating a noise coming from the rear of the vehicle. After diagnosing the issue; we advised the consumer that the rear subframe was corroded and separated, explained to the customer that in our opinion the vehicle was not safe to driveShe approved the work which was replacing the rear subframe, which included removing several items attached to subframe and then putting those items back on the vehicle. The total repair with parts, labor, and tax came to $1,571.31. The consumer paid the bill and took possession of the vehicle In reference to “Warranty Forever”; this is Powertrain Limited Coverage at no cost to the customer thru a third party company that does not cover any repair where the mechanical failure was due to rust. This is not a Jim Shorkey Auto Group company so any complaint toward them would need to be filed independently however I can let you know that this is not a repair that they would cover On a final note as stated earlier we conducted a PA State Inspection March 25th, 2016. Sometime between when the consumer purchased the vehicle on April 2nd, and when she came in July 6th, the inspection would have expired. This inspection was not done by our company. Somebody completed a PA State Inspection on the vehicle on March 27th, (according to the CarFax) and passed the Vehicle for PA State Inspection. This was almost a full year after we sold the vehicle to the consumer. At that time if there subframe was corroded and separated or deemed “bad” as mentioned earlier it should not have passed PA State Inspection. The consumer, *** ***, purchased multiple vehicles from our company and although we appreciate her business greatly we don’t feel anything was done wrong on the part of Jim Shorkey Auto Group and should not be responsible for any type of compensation. I would recommend to the consumer getting in contact with the person who passed the Vehicle for PA State Inspection on March 27th, 2017. Either they passed it with a bad subframe, missed the bad subframe, or it occurred after March 27th, Please let me know if you need any further assistance Tell us why here

We understand your frustration and certainly did apologize it did not end differentlyWe understand you did not want to accept the gift card and wish things would have ended differently

***, Thank you so much for sharing this feedback and your frustrations with the situationHowever, when you purchased your vehicle, you singed a contract to agree to receive services at certain mileages intervals, which was not doneIn addition to, before receiving service, to maintain the
warranty, you are to get it preauthorized by the warranty company or have the service done at any Jim Shorkey loctionBoth of those agreements were not completed, therefore the warranty is now voided

They didn't pay for my towing and I went weeks without a rent a car. I'm not agree with anything expect payment of all these charges. I had to rent a car and pay for it out of my pocket while my jeep sat at shorkey's waiting to get into the shop and then for them to order parts and work on it

***, thank you so much for reaching out to usWe understand of your frustration but the vehicle you purchased is an "as is" vehicleAttached is the contract you signed

I attempted to call Adam, but he was not thereI'm not sure how a car can lose $in value in days, but it is listed back on the dealer website at $18,900; Only $less than what I paid for itI understand that there is a business expense; however, the rationale of putting the blame on the customer is not validAdditionally, I'm not interested in the the business's defense on how they were right and the customer was wrongI fully understand the situation If Adam would like to negotiate a refund of the money that I provided to the dealership, I'm more than willing to talk; however, I will not waste my time or his to listen to rhetoric about the facts of the situation
