I purchased a dining room collection from the sears.ca website. I went to the store to see it in person prior to the store pickup date. The picture online did not resemble the real product. I asked the associate at the store to cancel my order, which he refused and asked me to contact the online representatives. During my call with a representative I was continuously asked questions on why I dont want to accept my order even though I haven't received the product. When I declined to accept the product I was then transferred through 3 or 4 other representatives before they concluded that there was nothing that they could do for me. The last representative asked me to call the store on the delivery date and ask them to refuse the product which will trigger an automatic refund. I called on the date of the delivery and got a "run around" by the sales clerk before he finally agreed to pull up my account. He then insisted that I come into the location to get my refund for the product I purchased through their website.

Purchased [redacted] reclining sofa November 2010. Within 4 years the cable releasing the reclining part had broken, on BOTH sides. Told by Sears we would have to deal with repair shop 100km away. They were not helpful, and wanted us to send both broken cables to them, so they could match them, and charge us for them....we would have to do the actual repair ourselves. We are seniors, and not able to do this. Now, a year and 4 months later, the seat springs on both sides of the sofa have let go, making it totally uncomfortable without additional cushions being used. This $1349.98 (reg price) unit is less than 5.5 years old, and we are unable to replace it financially. Feeling extremely let down by Sears.

This is unbelievable, I have been a customer of sears since 1980. Due to the Guelph store I was hit for returning too many items. Kidding me? This was about 3 years ago from then on I was not allowed to order anything through catalogue. I filed complaints with this store as high as I could get in management. Recently within the past month I ordered items through sears catalogue and they went through with out issue. When I tried to order an item today I again was stopped and told I was a high return customer, that anything I tried to order would be automatically cancelled. That's it with me, my business goes to [redacted] totally... I can only hope sears goes out of business due to this practice. Any other store like [redacted] do not have limits on what is ordered or how much is returned or kept by the customer.

I ordered an [redacted] from the store. The staff told me the delivery date is in a week and on the receipt it also showed that the item will be delivered in a week. I arrived at the stated date to pick up the item after a 10 min wait only to be told it's not here yet with no explanation at all. When asked when can I expect my order to arrive the answer was:"I'm not sure you should call us before you come again." Ok so I gave it another week and called again and the staff at the store checked and said the item has arrived and I can go and pick it up. So in the afternoon I arrived at Fairview Sears and after another 20 min long wait, the staff told me:"your item is not here, I don't know who told you it has arrived." When asked when can I expect the item, the answer is there has been a delay(which no one ever bothered to tell me about) and the delivery date is uncertain. So I asked again can I expect the item to be here within a month, the answer was still I can't guarantee that. It was the worst shopping experience ever!!!!!!
