Eastern Account System of Connecticut, Inc. Reviews (211)

Review: Despite repeated requests, this agency has failed to answer questions I am entitled to know under the [redacted]. They have refused to prove that they owe this debt; they have refused to show they are authorized to do business in [redacted]; a calculation of all amounts they claim I owe; copies of any documents showing that I agreed to pay what they claim I owe among other things. I am especially concerned that they have ignored my request to show they are licensed to collect debts in the state of [redacted]. I first requested this information 4/22/14. Since that time, they have reported to various credit reporting agencies ([redacted] and others) that I owe this debt to them. I also have a copy of a letter dated 5/12/14, again, asking them to provide me with this information. They have not provided me with the information I have requested. I believe I am entitled by law to this information. Thank you for your time.Desired Settlement: I expect Eastern to be held accountable for violating any state or federal laws by refusing to follow the [redacted]. As this is currently in dispute, I expect it to be so noted in my credit report.

I am rejecting this response because:

The information sent does not address the information I specifically requested. If Eastern cannot give me answers to the questions I am legally entitled to ask, I will contact the State's Attorney General.

Response:

We have provided and will provide again detail of the debt. The State of ** does not require collection licenses. What other question do you have that requires an answer?

Consumer

Response:

Review: [redacted]

As per my correspondence with Eastern on 4/22/14 and 5/12/14, the information they have failed to supply: copies of any documents showing they own this debt and copies of any documents showing I agreed to pay what they say I owe. All I have received from them are computer screen print outs that don't tell me anything. I am still researching if ** regulates/registers/licenses debt collection.

Sincerely,

Review: In May, 2014 I entered a written dispute with EASTERN ACCOUNT SYSTEM reference account number [redacted] as contained on my consumer credit profile at [redacted] and [redacted]. Specifically alleged, EASTERN ACCOUNT SYSTEM was attempting to collect a debt for which I had no knowledge and alleged was fraudulently opened by an unknown third party. Moreover, said account was appearing twice on my consumer credit profile notwithstanding the allegation of a single debt owed.

EASTERN ACCOUNT SYSTEM failed to investigate, verify, or validate said debt. Although I filed a dispute and cease and desist demand with EASTERN ACCOUNT SYSTEM, an absolute requirement of the Fair Credit Reporting Act is to report said debt as disputed pending resolution of an investigation. EASTERN ACCOUNT SYSTEM failed to report said debt as disputed and failed to conduct an investigation into my allegations of fraud. As such, my credit worthiness has been negatively impacted by the erroneous reporting of this account.

A review of records compiled by the state Division of Financial Services in [redacted] indicates that EASTERN ACCOUNT SYSTEM is not currently licensed to conduct business pursuant to section 559, [redacted] statute. As such, the imposition of this debt and the erroneous reporting to [redacted] and [redacted] is an unfair and deceptive trade practice.

Several phone calls to EASTERN ACCOUNT SYSTEM have met upon deaf ears. When I called to inquire on the status of the disputed account on November 25, 2014, I was advised that [redacted] licensing was not required. I was further advised that the debt remained due notwithstanding a lack of validation and claim of fraud. At this point the call was terminated. My written dispute remains outstanding. Said account remains on my [redacted] and [redacted] notwithstanding the existence of a dispute, lack of validation, and my allegations of fraud.Desired Settlement: Deletion of the offending EASTERN ACCOUNT SYSTEM collection account from my credit report at the [redacted] and [redacted] consumer reporting agencies.

Business

Response:

We are licensed to collect in [redacted] but in light of the fraud allegation we will cancel and send for removal of the account. Proof of fraud to [redacted] will still be necessary if Mr. [redacted] wishes to do business again with [redacted] in the future. Please accept this cancellation.

Review: This company has a report on my credit report for [redacted] cable. This is false. I have send them correspondence to delete for incorrect amount. This is deceptive business practices on their part. They violate the FCRA and the FDCPA by not deleting my credit report.I don't owe [redacted] any money and eastern collection agency looks to be a fraudlent agency. I wonder who else credit report has been affected by this hugh inaccuracy. Please investigate please.Regards

Account_Number: [redacted] cable

Desired Settlement: Please delete from my credit report [redacted]. we are buying a house soon and this should have already been deleted. They have 10 days or a federal prosecutor will be appointed to file criminal charges as stated in consumer legal acts.

They are croooked and deceptive.

Review: Eastern Account System of [redacted]. ###-###-#### are reporting a collection account that is not valid. They do not have the proper documentation to back up there claim. In the state of ** they my provide me with a signed copy of a contract, An Itemized break down on charges, Explain clearly what the charges are for. I have not of that information so the collection account is frivolous. This has damaged my credit and will seek damages if not removed off my credit report within 30 days of notification on this matter. I also request the license number from Eastern Account System. I will be reporting this also if not removed to the ** State Attorney General and the Federal Trade Commission. Please removeDesired Settlement: Remove off my credit report or reports.

Business

Response:

[redacted] does not use signed contracts to set up service so we cannot send one. We would be happy to send a copy of a final bill from [redacted] or a current to the day total of charges. We can also verify ss# and billing address over the phone if needed.

Consumer

Response:

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: ** state law requires a SIGNED Contract, so you are trying to collect and reporting frivolous information to my credit report. I would like this removed now off my credit or my lawyer will be contacting your company. You may have an invoice but without a signed contract you have nothing. What is your business licence number? The Federal Trade Commission and the ** Attorney General need to be contacted on this. Please remove this off my credit or I will SUE your company for damages and hardship

Sincerely,

Business

Response:

** Law does not require a signed contract. This is untrue. If you are claiming this is fraud, please send in a police id theft affidavit or bring it to your nearest [redacted] branch and we will have the account cancelled immediately.

Consumer

Response:

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: Check out the ** State Attorney Generals web site , Under business, contracts you need to have a signed contract with an itemized bill/Clearly explaining any services you are providing. I have not received any of this from your company or [redacted]. You have violated my right of redemption and right of due process. Your claim is frivolous, without providing me this information stated above. Just because you have my SS number and a bill from [redacted] does not prove anything other then having that information and the amount is fabricated. I owe nothing to you or [redacted] and was never late/ paid in full . You are about to be involved in a legal battle and you will get sued for damages to my credit by creating hardship due to frivolous, adverse information being reported to my credit report. You need to remove this frivolous account or with your response to the Revdex.com will be turned over to my lawyer this week.

Sincerely,

Review: EAS is reporting account number [redacted] on my credit report. I have tried to dispute this account with the credit bureaus and it comes back as verified every time. But yet, I have sent letters in the past regarding this account and they have failed to do so with me. There is supposedly a balance of $231 for who knows what. I need to know what the $231 is for.Desired Settlement: Delete this account from my credit report.

Business

Response:

The debt is for a [redacted] cable service bill at [redacted] through 08-05-08. [redacted] is stating it is still due. We will mail a copy today.

Review: Have made several attempts to resolve discrepancies with charges but none of my letters are acknowledged. Instead I receive another threatening invoice, with a different amount due and warnings that my failure to respond will result in legal action. I HAVE responded and want to get to the bottom of what the actual amount owed is.

Desired Settlement: Want my requests for additional information acknowledged and to come to an agreeable decision regarding an accurate amount owed.

Business

Response:

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2013/07/29) */

Per our latest letter and [redacted]'s accounting, the total balance is $755.98 for service and unreturned equipment. The equipment amount has decreased as a result of credits. We would be happy to again mail validation or Ms. [redacted] is welcome to verify this with [redacted] directly.

Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2013/08/01) */

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT ACCEPT the response from the business.)

I dispute the balance due. I have returned all equipment and had terminated my relationship w/[redacted] in April and received a bill in excess of $1000 shortly thereafter . Charges have not been explained.

Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2013/08/05) */

[redacted] is maintaining that all of the equipment is not returned. Only a couple of pieces. If all has been returned please bring receipt in to [redacted] or mail to Eastern so we can credit it. The billing only runs to March not past April as stated above.

Consumer Response /* (4200, 11, 2013/08/08) */

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)

I have already mailed receipt to Eastern... will do so again.

Business Response /* (4000, 13, 2013/08/11) */

If that lists the rest of the equipment still due we will credit and inform [redacted]. What about the service balance through March that is still due?

Review: I am assuming that eastern account has to do with [redacted] billing. The account from my old address [redacted]. This should not be reporting as all the equipment was returned to the service center. The bill was finalized and paid in full approx March 2013.Desired Settlement: remove this collection account from my credit.

Business

Response:

We received word from [redacted] that the equipment associated with the account was returned last August. Your account will be updated as paid in full.

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Sincerely,

Review: My wife received a collection letter this evening, knew it wasn't mine and called the company. The woman who answered ask if she was my husband. She replied, "Yes." however, she further went on to state my son had the same name. She informed the woman this bill was not mine (I was standing beside her when she called). The woman stated she needed to contact the police because it was identity theft. NO IT WASNT. We know who the person is who this belongs to, our son. The woman would not stop telling my wife to quit yelling. My wife, [redacted], informed her she wasn't yelling, then showed her what yelling was. The woman stated again to call the police. After researching the SS#'s the woman said it was not the same but I was still responsible. Then she hung up.[redacted] called back and spoke with [redacted] a supervisor. [redacted] stated my wife was being sarcastic-wrong she was kurt. [redacted] stated the first woman put wrong address. That is not the issue. The issue is we want to ensure my SS# is NOT on that account and NO ONE will tell us whether it is or not because [redacted] hung up and told my wife to never call again. If they're sending me a bill, you better bet we are calling again and again and again. I want to find out if my SS# is on this account and if it is, I will do what my wife said we would do-we will sue them. It's not my bill.Desired Settlement: I want to ensure my SS# is not on this account and that my address is completely removed and I want to ensure nothing is being reported on MY name to the credit bureaus.

Business

Response:

Sorry for the confusion. Would you please provide the last 4 digits of your SS# so we can match against our record and correct?

Review: I disputed a account thats on my credit from them and its not my account but it keeps coming up as verified.Desired Settlement: I want the account deleted off my credit report.

Business

Response:

We have spoken to you repeatedly on this account. It was for service at your address that you paid with the understanding that it would not come off your credit.

Consumer

Response:

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

You haven't spoken to me about anything at all. I want you to prove that it's my account. I want to see a signed contract from the original creditor.

Sincerely,

Business

Response:

We spoke to you years ago before you paid. These are older accounts. [redacted] does not use signed contracts so I'm unable to forward you one. You may be able to contact them directly and speak to billing to get a copy.

Consumer

Response:

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

You own the debt so it's your responsibility to provide them. I'm requesting that you send them to me. I'm requesting a 623 despite. It's your responsibility to comply.

Sincerely,

Business

Response:

We do not own the debt. We are not debt purchasers. [redacted] has and still does own it. We also aren't required to send bill copies of debt that is paid in full but we would be happy to do that for you if the debt weren't more than four years old. We aren't able to get copies on debt that old from [redacted].

Review: Not follow the procedures and spoilt my credit history

This company is unscrupulous practices. I had a [redacted] service. [redacted] sent me an incorrect bill of 73 dollars. I spoke to [redacted] to correct the bill and the remaining amount was due to the equipment which they could not come and collect. Meanwhile I got a letter from Eastern Accounts asking for the money. I spoke to them and said that this bill is disputed as [redacted] did not put the correct amount. Meanwhile I initiated the discussions with [redacted] to correct the amount and how to return the Modem.

However, I was surprised to learn that without any further correspondence and verification, Eastern spoilt my credit history putting in a charge of 73 dollars and now I cannot get mortgage pre-approval letter.

As soon as I came to know about this, I called up Eastern Accounts and told them that they did not

follow the process as the bill had been disputed and [redacted] had already reduced it to 50 which will be nothing as soon as I return the modem.

They said that it is their mistake and they will correct the credit history as soon as they hear from [redacted].

I today returned the modem and cleared everything with [redacted]. However, now Eastern today said that they cannot remove it from my Credit History.

Because of incorrect business practices and not checking the details with [redacted], they have reduced my chances of getting credit.

This is causing me a significant financial loss.

Please help address.

Desired Settlement: Please compensate me for the financial loss I have suffered because of this.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2013/07/08) */

We followed our client's wishes throughout the life of this account. [redacted] is showing that the balance wasn't cleared until 7/4/13. That is almost 120 days late. In the spirit of compromise we will send for removal of the credit entry now that the balance has been credited. Please allow 4 weeks for clearance.

Review: An account was placed under my name erroneously. Since then, EASTERN ACCOUNT SYSTEM I has damaged my name, and my credit EASTERN ACCOUNT SYSTEM I has entered derogatory information into my credit file. I should not be responsible for EASTERN ACCOUNT SYSTEM I mistake. An extended fraud alert has been added to my credit report with the three major credit bureau due identity theft.Desired Settlement: Please completely remove item on my credit file with the three major credit bureau. This is no knowledge account

Business

Response:

We have already cancelled the account in our system once we learned of the fraud. We have sent for credit bureau removal. Please allow 3-4 weeks for the removal to complete.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Sincerely,

Review: During the first week of November, I ran my credit report since I am in the middle of purchasing a house and noticed I had one collection on there from Eastern Account for the amount of $115 for a soft tissue medical service supposedly made on 4/07/14. During that week, I called them to find out what in the world this collection was for since I have never received a medical bill. I was informed that it was for [redacted] Review for a soft tissue procedure dated 4/07/14 and when I asked who it was requested from, they gave me a Dr's name I have never heard of.

I told the representative that I was living in [redacted] all of 2014 and there was no way I could have received a bill from [redacted]. I also called the office of the Dr. they said requested this service and the Dr's office confirmed that they have no record of me in their system. I called Eastern Account back and told them all of this, and also told them that I had no problem paying for this $115, if I owed it, but that this bill is obviously in error.

The representative, Sarah, said she would put it in dispute and request a clarification on it. I called two more times in November only to find that there was still no clarification, still in waiting mode.

On November 11th, I did receive a bill for 4/07/15, with Dr. Nelly V[redacted] for $115, but with insurance and adjustments, I only owed 15.81. She has been the only doctor I have seen in [redacted] for my [redacted] issue and this was the bill for the soft tissue scan on the neck, the exact procedure and amount of bill dated for service on 4/07/15- the correct information.

I scanned the letter from [redacted] for the 04/07/15 bill including the receipt that I had paid the 15.81 owed and now should have a zero balance. I called and emailed the Eastern Account rep (sarah Jane) on November 23 and emailed her a copy of all of this. She said she was still waiting on [redacted] as of December 3rd.

On December 4th, I called [redacted] since I was not getting any resolution from Eastern Account, even after emailing the copy of the [redacted] bill for the soft tissue scan on 4/07/15 and my payment. I was told by [redacted] that the 4/07/14 bill was indeed an error on their part and that they had absolutely no notes on file regarding Eastern Account's attempts to get resolution on the matter.

I emailed Sarah and spoke to her manager Mary N[redacted] who still stated that they could not produce a copy of the said $115 bill for 4/07/14, that I still owe them money.

I obviously have been proactive in trying to get the matter resolved, but I have no faith that Eastern Account has had due diligence in finding a resolution based on the fact that 1.)I told them since early November that I was living in [redacted] during this date they claimed I had service in [redacted] 2.)provided them an emailed copy on November 23 of a bill dated 4/07/15 for the same exact fee and service they said I owe for 2014 3.) They cannot produce a copy of the bill they say I owe 4.) It has been two weeks since I sent them the [redacted] Radiological bill and there is no resolution still and there were no notes they have ever contacted [redacted] Radiological as stated by the [redacted] Radiological rep that I talked to December 4th. 5.) According to Mary N[redacted], Eastern Account only contacted [redacted] Radioloy on December 1, after I have repeatedly been on Eastern Account's case to clarify this error on my credit report….but yet again, [redacted] on December 4th had absolutely no notes that they were contacted.Desired Settlement: Remove from credit report immediately. Obviously it does not take more than two weeks for them to find out from [redacted] that whatever bill they say I owe (which they still cannot produce) was obviously an error. It took me waiting on hold from [redacted] for ten minutes for them to come back and confirm the bill was in error- why can't Easter Account do this even then have known for about a month that I was claiming this to be an error.

Business

Response:

My apologies for the delay. Please understand that we deal with the Billing Company and not directly with the practice. That is the reason for the delay. In light of your inconvenience and the misunderstanding we will send for removal of the item on your credit report and cancel the account.

Review: I have been going through my credit reports and came across an account in collection from Eastern Account System, Inc. located in [redacted]. The account was from a [redacted] bill that inadvertently didn't get paid on time. The problem I have with Eastern Account System of Connecticut, Inc. is I had been dealing with another agency to resolve this financial matter (which I has been resolved and in writing). Since the matter was being dealt with another company at the time I can't possibly see how this company could, should or would have this information. In any event, all I want from this business is to remove all reporting to the credit bureaus since they had no cause to report this information in the first place.Desired Settlement: Removal of reported information to any and all credit bureaus and to close any records of account pertaining to me.

Business

Response:

We need help identifying this account to be able to help you. We don't show that address on file. Can you give us an account number or perhaps a former address that mail may have gone to?

Review: Two years ago while checking my credit report online I found a collection agency had a [redacted] account that said I owed them $240.23. Problem was I've never had [redacted] service and now I never will. At that time I filed a dispute with the reporting agency and it was all resolved.... case was closed. Atleast I thought it was. It was removed from my credit report for the past two years. Today I receive a letter from Eastern Account System saying I owe the same $240.23 that I already had removed off my credit. When I call Eastern Account Systems I get a answering machine the first hour of calling, and when I do finally speak with someone They are telling me I need to go through all the same hoops again to get them to remove the debt, and when I tell them that I shouldn't have to do all this again they just start blowing you off and tell you to call [redacted], which I will be doing tomorrow. I know when I received a letter from the credit reporting agency that says the debit is cleared from my report they should not be able to try again in two years. I think what Eastern Account Service of Connecticut and [redacted] are doing like that has to be illegal, and I will never pay over 200 dollars for something I didn't subscribe to. Now on to call [redacted] and start all over again proving that I have never once had service with them and never will I deal with cable tv service providers. I even have [redacted] bills for the same time they stated I Had service.Desired Settlement: They need to communicate with the actual credit reporting agency so they know if they are re-filing debts that have already been reversed. This debt should automatically be removed.

Business

Response:

[redacted] is maintaining this debt is due. They simply removed it from the last collection agency that worked it. It wasn 't cancelled. Can you help us resolve by verifying the last 4 digits of your ss# and letting us know if you lived at your current address in 07/27/11? This was the time of service delivery. Thank you.

Consumer

Response:

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

When I spoke to customer service. I explained to her I was not living at [redacted], at the time [redacted] cable company says I had service there. I was renting it out at that time, and I was living at another address for two years, and I had satellite tv bill in my name at the same time. That is why it was originally removed from my credit report!!! And what I am really getting at is it seems like a violation of the fair credit reporting act. How can your company put a bad mark on my credit for the same thing I disputed once and was dropped from my credit report 2 years ago.

Sincerely,

Business

Response:

As we explained on the phone, it wasn't dropped it was simply removed from another collection agency and placed with ours. If you can provide proof of residence during that time, we can help you.

Consumer

Response:

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

It was dropped years ago. So I have lost all the paperwork needed to prove I wasn't living there the year the cable company says I had service with them. I don't have time to do this every couple years. Once again it seems illegal to my lawyer and I. You will be hearing from us.

We will remove the account.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Sincerely,

Review: I recently ran a credit report. I found an account for Eastern Account System listed on my report. I wrote Eastern Account System disputing the account because I had no knowledge of this account or its origins. I was then sent a standard letter with the company letter head containing information that can already be found on my credit report. I then wrote them a second letter explaining to them that this did not properly validate that this debt belonged to me. It has been 30 days and no response. I ran my credit report again and they are still reporting this debt. They have failed to properly validate the account and according to the FCRA an account that has not been properly validated/verified has to be reported to the credit reporting agencies to be deleted from a consumer credit file. They are violating my rights under the FCRA laws.Desired Settlement: I would like this inaccurate, un-validated negative account to be deleted from my consumer credit file because Eastern Account System has failed to send me the necessary documents proving this debt once belonged to me. Eastern Account System has caused significant damage to my credit file by willfully reporting inaccurate non validated information. As per FCRA rules and regulations an unverified debt cannot be reported and reporting such accounts are considered a violation of my rights. They continue to list the account on my credit file which is considered a collection effort and in turn is a violation of the FDCPA both of which carry a $1000 fine. I am not seeking payment for such violations but simply want a complete deletion of this record from all three major credit reporting agencies.

Business

Response:

We sent validation directly off of [redacted] system as of the date requested. They are still maintaining that it is due as of today's date. We have marked the account as disputed. We would be happy to request a final bill that was sent to you directly from [redacted] and forward that if you prefer. Please let us know.

Consumer

Response:

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: an itamized bill is not proper validation and not sufficiant to prove this debt belongs to me. Please send me the below folowing specifically number 5. Only then will I consider this matter resolved.

Please evidence your authorization under [redacted] and [redacted] in this alleged matter.

What is your authorization of law for your collection of information?

What is your authorization of law for your collection of this alleged debt?

Please evidence your authorization to do business or operate in this state.

Please evidence proof of the alleged debt, including the alleged contract or other instrument bearing my signature.

Please provide a complete account history, including any charges added for collection activity.

Sincerely,

Business

Response:

[redacted] does not require signed contracts for service. If you are saying the debt is invalid, fraudulent or a mistake please contact us or [redacted] and explain why.

Review: I never knew [redacted] or Eastern Accounts claimed there was a balanced owed until pulling my credit report. There has never been a listing for a [redacted] account showing closed, charged off or anything on any of my previous credit reports. I hadn't had [redacted] service since 2011. Eastern accounts is reporting inaccurate information to the credit bureaus and I would like for them to correct this. I have never received any balance due billing from [redacted]. All equipment was turned in at the [redacted] store in 2011.Desired Settlement: Requesting this account to be removed from credit reporting agencies, since I am no longer legally responsible for this debt, since filing bankruptcy this year.

Business

Response:

We found the bankruptcy information and will cancel the account and send for removal of the entry. Please allow approximately 4-5 weeks for the removal to show. Thank you.

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Sincerely,

Review: This is a medical billing dispute which [redacted] clearly stated was not a billed visit. Once I elected not to be a patient, he changed his position and has billed my insurance company for the visit and is now trying to collect a co-payment by way of a collection agency.I think based on his unprofessional standards and practices, it is wrong to state there is no charge and then demand payment because I elected to pursue a second opinion. On 8-18-14 in response to my requesting validating an unrecognized debt, I received an invoice for an outpatient visit.I initially had a consultation with [redacted] but based on that visit, I sought a second opinion. My visit to this doctor was quite some time ago and the office visit in question of 8-8-14, is invalid since the doctor reassured me there was no charge since it was not an office visit and he did not provide any services or tests. It has come to my attention that although this office was relentless in their pursuit of my surgery, their tactics reek of malicious intent and is in retaliation for my making a different choice. I was assured there was NO CHARGE since this was not an office visit.Desired Settlement: My desired settlement or outcome is, I want Eastern Account System of Connecticut, INC. acting on behalf of [redacted] erase the "alleged" $53.22 and that the collection agency delete and erase from all the credit reporting agencies this item, since I thought [redacted] was an honorable doctor, having assured me there was no charge associated with 8-8-14.

Business

Response:

Our client is maintaining that they never said the visit would be no charge. Could you provide anything that supports your postion so we can take this to our client?

Consumer

Response:

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because it is morally wrong.

Review: This is concerning a [redacted] bill that I paid on time but [redacted] sent my account to collections. The collection agency is Eastern Account System and they reported me negatively on my [redacted] credit report. I paid the account in full in January 2012 and they state that I paid the account in full in May 2012. This is false and untrue. I placed a dispute on my credit report with this collection agency. The results came back as valid so I was instructed by [redacted] to contact the collection agency on my own. When I called, a man answered who never stated the company he worked for, his name, or his title. He only answered "hello". I proceeded to inform him that this is a mistake and that I paid this account on time and that I wanted it removed from my credit report. He responded very rudely by saying "no" and that there was nothing I could do about it. He was not helpful at all and did not even seem concerned about my issue. I managed to get his name before disconnecting the call. His name is [redacted] and his extension is [redacted]. I did not pay my account late and this is a violation of the FDCPA and the FCBA (Fair Credit Billing Act) and additionally I will be contacting [redacted]'s corporate office to discuss this as well.Desired Settlement: I want this collection agency removed from my credit report immediately!!! I also wish to have them fined for violating the FDCPA and the FCBA.

We contacted [redacted] and they confirmed that the debt wasn't paid until May 9th. Can you please send proof of payment in January so that we can get this corrected?

Review: I got a letter from Eastern Account saying they were going to list a debt on my credit report. This is in regards to equipment from [redacted] that I received when I signed up for cable service. Since the service from [redacted] was so horrible, I canceled my account within two weeks of opening it and returned all their equipment to them. I have called [redacted] multiple times and they have confirmed I do not owe them any money. I have called Eastern Account multiple times and each time I get voicemail after being on hold for 2-3 minutes. I would like Eastern Account to do a better job checking their records and to quickly remove the negative entry on my credit report. Otherwise, I will pursue all legal options available to me.Desired Settlement: Remove negative entry from my credit report.

Response:

We have cancelled the debt and sent for credit bureau removal. Please allow approximately 4 weeks for the deletion to show.

Review: Account reporting on my credit report does not belong to me.

There is a collection account with [redacted] that Eastern Account Systems is reporting with a balance of $500.22. This account is not mine. It belongs to my dad. The address associated with this account is [redacted] XXXXX. I sent them a validation letter on May 30, 2013 and I never received anything in the mail. I sent a dispute letter to [redacted] to have this item removed and it still appears on my credit report. Desired Settlement: Please delete this item from my credit report.

Please mail or call in proof of social security number so that we can validate whether this account is accurate or not. If it doesn't match, we will remove.

Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2013/08/26) */

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT ACCEPT the response from the business.)

The account number on file is XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX and [redacted] number is XXX-XX-XXXX. You will see that this account does not belong to me. I never lived at [redacted] XXXXX. [redacted] who owns this debt, already deleted this account from my credit report because they know it didn't belong to me. Also, you are in violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act and Fair Debt Collection Practices Act by not responding to my letter. Please delete this account from my credit reports and also provide me a letter stating that this account will be removed.

Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2013/08/30) */

We will cancel the account and send for credit bureau removal in light of the conflicting information. Please allow 2-3 weeks to clear. [redacted] as of this morning is still maintaining it's validity.
