Eastern Account System of Connecticut, Inc. Reviews (211)

Review: My wife and myself keep receiving mail from this company saying that we owe over $4000.00. In the section that says who is owed the debt is just says "to your creditors". The letter goes on to ask us to fill out personal information about us and mail it back to the company. Seems like a made up debt to me since we have no idea who and why we would owe someone over $4000.Desired Settlement: We want these items removed from our credit report and we are requiring this company to cease and desist all communication with myself and my wife ([redacted]) and anyone who is associated with us.

Business

Response:

These are legitimate medical debts. We will not contact you any further per your request but if you would like more information please call our office at [redacted] or give permission to disclose the creditor's names here. We cannot speak for how the original creditor's may pursue these debts going forward.

Consumer

Response:

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: This claim is totally bogus. Again no mention of the creditor and we have absolutely no medical debts.

Sincerely,

Business

Response:

Would you like us to list them here or call in to elaborate? It's multiple facilities and dates. They list your private identifying information and medical records. We are trying to protect your privacy.

Business

Response:

We will be happy to. You said to no longer contact you. It's ok to mail you billing copies?

Consumer

Response:

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: I'm tired of playing your silly games. Mail me what you claim you have, and then I never want to hear from you again.

Sincerely,

Review: I received a call today from [redacted] (###-###-####). When I answered she was very rude as said "Put [redacted] on the phone now"... I asked who was calling, and she just replied "[redacted]".. so when I replied that this was [redacted] she said "Good, Im calling about your bill for XYZ Dr. in the amount of 106.xx" When she was finished talking, I let her know my insurance was looking into the situation, and it was being worked out.. and she said "hah, yeah right I am sure." When I tried to explain to her what exactly was going on with the insurance (I switch insurance carriers and they billed the wrong one) she laughed at me and said "Just pay the $106.xx" and I replied I couldnt do that right now. So she then proceeded to tell me I needed to "get on with getting this looked at or it was going to go to collections" And I replied I am working as fast as I can on it and she laughed again and hung up on me. When I called back I asked to speak to a supervisor.. and supposedly this "[redacted]" is the only supervisor there, when I got back in touch with her, and told her I didnt like how I was handled and she replied "I can add more than this $100 to your credit" and then she again hung up on me again.Desired Settlement: I want a verbal apology. She made me feel stupid. And it is not acceptable for a "Supervisor" to do that. Nor does it make me feel comfortable giving a person who is that rude, and inconsiderate my Social Security Number. I have half a mind to see a lawyer about this matte because her actions are not acceptable, and I fear for my Credit.

Business

Response:

This is not how the conversation went from our side. Ms. [redacted] was very combative and said "you may be stupid but I am not". She also only spoke to [redacted] once and did not call back in to speak to her again. In any case, in the interest of good customer service, we will call her to clear the matter up.

Review: This company represents [redacted] and performs collection services for them. In a statement dated May 19, 2014, this company is attempting to inflate the equipment charges owed by me to [redacted] by almost $300.This is unacceptable and not a business practice that should go unreported. Furthermore, the entire bill from [redacted] is being disputed by me thus no attempt to damage my credit will be tolerated. Please make sure that this company gets the facts straight before they attempt to collect anything from me. Thank you.Desired Settlement: This company should stand down, get their amounts due correct, and make no further contact with me. [redacted] and I will resolve this issue.

Business

Response:

We checked with [redacted] and did receive a reduction on the equipment of $290. We immediately discounted that amount. We will contact Mr. [redacted] no further but it will remain in our office until [redacted] gives us some direction so hopefully he will work something out with them soon.

Consumer

Response:

Eastern Account Systems, Inc handles collection for [redacted]. They have already tried to inflate their bill by $300 in reagrds to my account, which I have been involved with [redacted] directly to resolve. I have already filed a complaint against this company for the attempted erroneous billing and sent them a certified letter stating the collection amount is in dispute and that no further action was to be taken on their part. As of Monday July 21, 2014, my bill with [redacted](AFTER MONTHS OF NEGOTIATIONS) was paid in full. As of Tuesday July 22, 2014, Eastern Account Systems, Inc. placed a derogatory entry to all three credit agencies regarding my account which has been paid in full. Now they are affecting my credit which I have spent exhaustive amounts of time to repair. Their reporting of a closed account to the credit aganecies represents a gross and costly misrespresentation of the facts. It is unthinkable that this company would act in such a manner. I am sure they have broken the law by falsely reporting this account as unpaid when in fact it is paid in full.

Review: Eastern Account System is reporting negative information to the credit bureaus that they are unable to validate. Upon reviewing my credit reports and I saw a collection from Eastern Account System with an account number of [redacted]. My credit report says the account is for [redacted], I do not have nor have I had service from [redacted] in the past. I dont even live in an area that [redacted] services. I have not received any letters or notices from Eastern Account System or [redacted] regarding this account. I sent a letter certified mail #7[redacted] to Eastern account system that they received on 03/21/14 asking them to either send me validation for this account or delete this information from my credit report. They have not responded with any validation of this account and they have continued to report on my credit report.Desired Settlement: They need to send me validation of this account or remove it from my credit report.

Business

Response:

We will send the final bill from [redacted] today to the address listed. $460 is still due for equipment at [redacted]. IF this was never a previous address, please file a police affidavit for identity theft and mail to us or [redacted].

Consumer

Response:

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

They were sent a request for validation and did not respond to me which they do not have to, but they continued to verify the account with the Credit Bureau, which they never addressed. I am assuming they have now sent me a copy of what is supposed to be a bill. I am not sure if what I received is in fact from this Eastern Account or not because there was nothing saying it was from them, no letter head or contact information in the envelope, and the return address that was on the envelope has a different address then what is on my credit report or listed with the Revdex.com. If what I received was actually from Eastern Account Systems The copy of what they are saying is the bill does not have my name on it, it does have a similar name but not my name. I should not have to file a police report for an account that doesn't even have my name on it. Again this account needs to be removed from my credit report immediately.

Sincerely,

Review: Easter Account Systems, via [redacted], incorrectly added a collection to my credit report. [redacted] reportedly fixed the billing error months ago on their end and forwarded the information to Eastern Accounting. Eastern Accounting has never once answered a phone call placed, and they have not once returned a phone call. My credit report now says I am in unpaid collections for 4 months!! My credit score is currently ruined!Desired Settlement: Help to remove this from my credit history immediately!

Business

Response:

we received word of this cancellation and sent for removal of the item. Please allow 2-3 weeks for the removal to show. Thank you

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Sincerely,

Review: I called they refused to give me an amount. They had the wrong address. They refused to give a complete accounting of any amount they say was owed. With out details like the amount owed, what services were rendered, when and where what ever they say occurred then they are owed no money at all. A complete accounting in writing sent to my address is required before a penny will be paid without it this is nothing but attempted extortion.Desired Settlement: If a bill was not paid I want to know what it was. If it was a doctor's bill I will need a full accounting of what the doctor received from insurance. What the bill is for, when it occurred, where why it was ordered. Should the doctor have accepted payment from the insurance company than he has received all the consideration he/she will receive.

Business

Response:

We have requested a bill copy from the medical provider and will mail it out to you right away.

Review: I received a letter from the Eastern Account System in [redacted] back in September of last year. The letter stated that I had an account past due and was sent to collections and would now be posted on my credit report because I had not made a payment. I was not aware I had an account that had gone to collections all the way back in July of 2014. I called the number on the letter and a rude woman spoke to me stating that I had received multiple letters, which I had not/. These letters stated that I had 30 days from them acquiring the account to pay it in full, or to go on a payment plan in order to have this not reported to the credit bureaus. This was falsified information because I had never received these supposed letters. The woman stated they had "proof" they were sent out. But, like I tried explaining to her I never received it. I have NEVER been late on any payment of any kind. My credit history of the past 5 years shows this as proof. I've tried asking them to remove this from my report, they denied. I contacted Experian and opened a Dispute Case through them, they still denied to remove it from my report. This is not fair to me, I paid this bill as soon as I got the "Final Notice Letter" from them 3 months after the fact it had been sent without my knowledge. They are very unprofessional and I'm a victim of their own mistakes.Desired Settlement: I would like this removed my credit report in full, because this will stay on my report for the next 6 years. This is making it impossible for me to get a student loan, and so I now have no way of paying for college. This is not fair on my part.

Business

Response:

we are not sure who you reached here as both reps were men. In the interest of getting your favorable response to the Revdex.com we will send for removal. Please allow 4 weeks for the removal to complete.

Consumer

Response:

Thank you though for your cooperation on having this removed from my credit report.

Sincerely,

Review: My account was sent to Eastern Account System by [redacted] in error. [redacted] has informed me that this was sent to collections in error and they have notified Eastern many times to take the account off their records. [redacted] has even sent me letters (attached) stating there is no pending balance on my account. In April, upon discussion with Eastern representative [redacted], I was told that the Credit Bureau ([redacted]) will be notified on May 10th 2014 to take the negetive record off and by June 10th 2014 my credit records will be updated. Upon following up with [redacted] on July 8th 2014, I was told the Credit Bureau should have been notified by now and she was not sure why [redacted] didn't have the information yet. Based on discussions with [redacted] I was told that [redacted] never got the information from Eastern to update their records and I should have the discussion with Eastern to get this matter resolved. I have had over 20 phone calls with Eastern in the last 3 months and I don't think this is helping. It's been over three months, yet there is no action from Eastern.Desired Settlement: Please inform the Credit Bureau to remove the negetive record from their records as soon as possible. Please send a letter to my home address stating there is no outstanding claim on my account from Eastern Account System for my reference.

Response:

We have received feedback that the debt was cleared in mid June. It should not be showing by this date. Please make sure you are checking a source that gives a current reading.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Sincerely,

Review: I have recently obtained a copy of my credit report and noticed a collection account from Eastern Acoount Systems for a medical bill. I contacted EAS and spoke to a rep named Paul. He stated that this was a bill stemming from 2013 from my local hospital.I explained to him that I had [redacted] coverage at the time and I would contact the hospital to see what was going on. He stated that even if I had coverage, because the bill is over 2 years old, they wouldn't bill it anyway. I told him he was wrong because under [redacted] law, [redacted] recipients cannot be balanced billed unless [redacted] says so and I never received any proof of a denial. After my conversation with him, I contacted the hospital and the rep I spoke to had no balance in their system that matched what EAS showed. She also stated that the hospital has my [redacted] number on file and perhaps the bill came from the doctor and the physician's billing [redacted] never obtained my insurance info. She stated I would need to deal with the collection agency since the account was referred out. I contacted EAS again advising them that this bill did not come directly from the hospital and unless they can provide a copy of the original bill, proof the claim was billed to [redacted], proof they owned the debt, and proof that they tried to contact me via mail, I would want this account removed immediately from my credit report. It has been over a week and I haven't received anything. I have never received anything from the hospital, the physician or even EAS within those two years referencing this alleged bill. I have also provided EAS a copy of the [redacted] laws that bans the hospital/physician from sending my account to collections and I will be filing a [redacted] fraud complaint against the creditor that sent this to collections as well as my legal options against EAS for not having the necessary proof that this bill was processed through insurance first. It should not take a week to get information if you already have it and it's "valid".Desired Settlement: I want proof validating that this claim was billed to [redacted] for the amount listed of $440 in 2013. If EAS cannot furnish a original copy of an explanation of benefits from [redacted] for the date of [redacted], I want the account removed from my credit report as reporting information you know to be inaccurate is a violation of the FCRA.

Business

Response:

We sent for removal of the account after receiving your fax. Please allow approx. 4-5 weeks for the removal to show. We sent letters to your home address back in 2013 and placed calls but didn't hear from you then.

Consumer

Response:

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: I would like to have the account removed immediately as it does not take 4-5 weeks for removal. I would also like deletion letter sent to my email. I feel bad that the original creditor has misinformed you however I really need this removed this week if possible.

Sincerely,

Business

Response:

We have immediately sent for removal. we will do everything possible to have that executed as quickly as possible but don't control it. We also cannot speak for the original creditor or what they plan to do in the future. Since you waited over two years to respond to us we ask that you would accept our efforts and have that patience now as we had.

Review: April 16th 2013 I called Eastern Accounts in regards to a collection that was on my credit report. I asked if I could pay off whatever was due and if it could be taken off of my credit report accordingly. The woman I spoke with stated that it was illegal to do such which is in violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Desired Settlement: I would like this account deleted from my credit report in compliance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Response:

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2013/04/19) */

It is in violation of our contract with [redacted] to offer or perform a removal of a legitimate credit entry for condtion of payment. The account will be updated promptly as paid in full upon reciept of payment.

Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2013/04/24) */

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT ACCEPT the response from the business.)

They say it's illegal which is not fair to fair credit reporting act this is not right

Consumer Response /* (3000, 11, 2013/04/29) */

Payment for this account was offered if the collections would be taken off of the credit report. It was then that Eastern Accounts stated it was illegal and they would do no such thing. By them stating that deleting is "illegal," plus their response to the complaint, is a violation in itself of the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Review: I got a notice of that I owed [redacted] money and called [redacted] to find out I really did not own [redacted]. This notice of collection was bogus.Desired Settlement: none. I just wanted to warn others.

Business

Response:

We were sent the account from [redacted] on 1-23-15. We will place the account on hold and check with [redacted] for any updates. Thank you.

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. Sincerely, [redacted]
