Review: After arriving at the hotel we were asked to wait 20 min before we could check in due to the fact that the internet was not working. When my fiance went back up ten minutes after check-in, to ask for the FREE wi-fi password the man at the front was very rude and unhelpful. After he asked what room he he was in, he continued to ask him his name, and then for his key card to verify he was staying at the hotel, we had only been out of the office for ten minutes, did he forget? After returning from getting a pizza, we were unable to eat it because the power went out. When my fiance went up to tell them about the problem he was greeted by a woman who had her crying children in the employees only room, who informed him that she would "take care of the problem" and he "didn't need to come up, he could have just dialed 1". When the power came back on my fiance returned to the front desk to ask why exactly the problem happened in the first place, it was at this time that the maintenance worker proceeded to get in my fiance's face and tell him that we "had everything on in the room" when my fiance explained to him that the only things on were one light the tv, and the heater. he continued to get increasingly louder in tone, become very agitated and and walk toward the door. As he was leaving he mumbled something about how he could hear the way my fiance was talking to me in our room. After he left my fiance told the woman at the front that it is unacceptable that she allows her employees to talk to customers like that. She pleaded that he "was not rude", but regardless it is NOT okay to approach a customer in a threatening manner. She continued to say that she would have him "come back and apologize" but we were not interested in an apology. She then said that this was "the first time this happened". This is a lie, users on the website Yelp have had the same problem. The water in the shower randomly gets hotter and then colder while you're taking a shower, and half of the outlets in the room do not work.Desired Settlement: I would like a complete refund. I was unable to eat dinner while it was hot, and sat in a dark, cold room in 32 degree weather. This is unacceptable, especially since they raise their rates once a week.

Review: I stayed at that motel from 3/13/2013 up until 3/24/2013. on my last day there I woke up in the morning and found a bed bug crawling on my 8 month old baby, I put the bed bug into a small baggie and took it down to the office and showed it to the lady behind the desk and she had her husband come out and he then told me I had to pack my stuff up and get out, and to go find some place else to stay. from the the time I was there with my family until the time the motel kicked us out we had nothing but problems there we had to move 3 times into 3 different rooms plus we had bed bug bites on us I took pictures of them , my baby had bites on him and I had bites on me, my 14 year old had a couple bites I didnt know the extreem of bed bugs and when we left we took them with us. I did research on bed bugs and found out how nasty they are and I then had to throw all of our stuff away wich was our clothes, diapers, shoes, I paid $ 755.00 dollars to stay with bed bugs and then kicked out when it was brought to there attention, and they would only give me one night refund . and I was told by the lady that they better not have problems later down the line because of this bed bug situation, I would like my money back and for everything I had to get rid of I dnt know how to deal with this . but I was told to bring it to the Revdex.com attention I did report this to the health department.Desired Settlement: 755.00 dollars that I paid to stay there and 400.00 dollars to replace our belongings , clothes, ,shoes ,diapers , for myself and my baby and my 14 year old and my 18 year old

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Regards,

To whom it may concern:

My three sons ([redacted] 8months, [redacted] 14yrs and [redacted]) and I recently stayed at The Econo-lodge located on Broadway in Lemon Grove. We stayed at Econo-lodge for a total of 11 nights, 10 days from the dates 3/13/13 thru 3/24/13. During our stay, we had a list of problems due to poor maintanence and upkeep in the rooms. I felt as if something was " crawling " on me during the night. When I brought this information to staff, it was agreed that a room change would be made. The next room had similar maintinence and hygenic issues, so another room change was in order. My family and I stayed 5 days in the 3rd appointed room.

On the date of 3/24/13, I found what I now know was a Bed-Bug. I proceeded to put the bug in a ziplock bag and present it to management. Econo-lodge staff did in fact ask if I would like medical attention; although I declined, I was much less knowladgeable about Bed-Bugs and didnt know exactly what to look for. After doing some research I've found that bites are'nt allways visible same day. In fact bites can appear up to a week after being bitten. Over the next few days following my stay at Econo-lodge, I found multiple bites (20+) running the length of my arms, legs, and even on my face. These insect bites can cause itching and swelling welts on the skin, raised body tempature (fever), and can even be deadly to the infant and elderly.

I feel fortunate that my family and I are still in perfect health apart from a few minor scars. Unfortunatley, Bed-Bugs are similar to Head-Lice in the sense that they are in/on any and all clothing, bedding, shoes, suitcases ect. Do to the neglagence from staff I, was forced to discard and replace everything in my familys wardrobe. Finances are a struggle sometimes and replacing clothes for 4 people at once does'nt make things easier. I strongly feel that Econo-lodge should be held responsible for the hassile and inconvience this event has caused my family. I feel the nights I paid to sleep in that room should be compensated in full as well as $400 to replace lost wardrobes.

Review: Two Words...BEDBUGS!!!!!!! My sister and I were bitten all over our bodies. We have been in agony for almost two weeks. They did credit us for the nights stay, but it was horrible experience. This was the first night of our cross country trip. Imagine how we felt when we had to book our hotels. Paranoid is a good word. Thank you for your kind attention. I just wanted you to know about this. I only hope this will be forwarded to the proper people so no one has to go through this.Desired Settlement: Corporate is contacted and this establishment responds to the complaint.

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I am not satisfied with Econolodge for denying there were not any bedbugs. I did find one when I lifted the covers and killed it. Believe me, I didn't look further. At the time, I looked both the insect and the bite both up on the internet and they both look exactly like what we encountered. When there is one bedbug there are many. I certainly hope they took care of it, but I am very doubtful. I would not want anyone to go through with all the bites and pain we did. It was not a good way to start our cross country trip. I did receive a full refund. Regards,[redacted]

Review: On January 7 I purchased a motel room at the econolodge on [redacted] the room was frigid but I understood since it was not in us but I understood since it was not in use that he would not be running temperature outside was around five degrees it was about an inch and a half gap between the bottom of the door and the base plate my boss seen a bug we are not sure what was he flicked it and told me about it and I started to look around for what kind of bug it was and seen it it was cockroaches in stink bugs I captured the roach and put it in the napkin I started to look for more bugs maybe see where they're coming from I found an electrical wire that was plugged in the outlet behind the dresser it was been cut taped with duct tape with out any wire nuts or electrical tapeon top of it was completely illegal connection a found a ground wire fro

The back of the heater not grounded and just tucked behind the carpet almond with several dead bugs again mainly roaches and stink bugs the vents were not covered and the smoke detecter was hanging from the wall he was a foreign man middle eastern decent and the lady I spoke with said he was the owner I originally came down with my complaints and due to the language barrier I felt the need to go get my phone for the pictures to show him and brought an actual roach for him to see he became instantl apologetic offered to refund my money said he would call the pest control I told him the amount owes and he became hostile said he would only refund me for thesecond day and not the first night I tried to explain to him that I was not staying the second day I was disgusted with the place because of all the problems on the first night he again said that I was only getting the return for today and not the prior night in which all this had occurred I told him if he just gave me my money back o would be happy and if not I would contact the Revdex.com he said all he was giving me was the second 50.98 I then signed saying I received 50.98 and turned in keys and left . My concerns are this the aggressive argumentative nature of the owner the lack of proper installation of several electric devices in the room the lack of concern over the heating issue and of coursethe amount of live and dead roaches behind the bed . I am ending by saying this is one room out of a minimum of [redacted] ( my room number) bugs electric hazards broken vents and smoke alarms and even more disgusting is the fact that he refused to make it right ! Thank you for your time and please address my complaintaDesired Settlement: I would like my return in full in a prompt and timely manner and I would like a phone call to discuss the loss of my personal property including two book bags one pair of tennis shoes three thermals three pairs of jeans and would be willing to be reasonable about the restitution regarding those itemsi

As we have discussed, you have received a complain from a customer who has stayed with us, by the name of Ms. [redacted]. They stayed with us on January 7, 2015 and checked in at 6:49 P.M. for 1 night in Room Number [redacted]. At 11:30, the next morning, one of the guests with her had come to the office and told us that they wanted to stay 1 more night, but weren't satisfied with the room. So, happily, we changed their room to another room. They also wanted to stay both nights free, because they had some problems the night before. But later, when we had went to check Room Number [redacted], there was nothing wrong with it. Since there was nothing wrong, we had given a refund for one night only. After they had checked out, we have rented that room many times to many customers, and we haven't received a complain from them. Yet, we would like to apologize to Ms. [redacted], and those who stayed with her, because they weren't satisfied. Thank you so very much for cooperating with us!Please feel free to contact us if you have any more questions at [redacted]

Review: My wife and I made a reservation on the hotels website and then I was called about 3 days later stating that they could not honor the rate that they quoted to me. The clerk said I could call back and talk to the manager the next day, I talked to them earlier today and they said the website which they claim is run by a third party was malfunctioning and that they did not have any 2 bed rooms left for those dates. The manager said that there was a convention in town "comic con" and all those rooms were booked. I honestly do not believe them, I believe they do not want to honor the price is because they can get a higher rate from someone else. Consequently I made a reservation at the Best Western and it cost me more than $200 more. I had also called the Econo Lodge customer support line the day I got the call and they said they could not do anything until I talked to the manager. All around bad business practices as far as I am concerned. [redacted]Below is the email they had originally sent me.

Response:

Dear [redacted],

First I would like to apologize for the delay.

We have read your complaint and we cannot apologize enough. We understand how disappointed you were and even mad. Unfortunately with the internet there are so many websites that are NOT AUTHORIZED through us to advertise any room rates or reservations. We are very sorry that you made a reservation through an un-authorized third party that we are not accepting reservations through. Any complaints should be direct to MyEres. :

OUR OFFICIAL URL or website is

http://lemongroveeconolodge.com/ OR http://www.econolodge.com/

If you go to our reservation system you will see all of the rooms are blocked and we are not accepting reservations for the time in question. That is why you were told there was a malfunction because there was no other explanation as these rooms and dates have been blocked out for months and months. We understand it is hard to see our reasons for this but we did call because we did not want to have you get on a plane and get here and have NO ROOM and the entire city will be booked. We came across this reservation and called as soon as we saw it. WE in no way discriminate against military, we appreciate all military and have them stay quite frequently

Here is a post we recently posted on our FACEBOOK account:

the reservations were made through MYERES. This 3rd party site who should be responsible, however again we want you know we understand your being upset and we are very sorry if this inconvenienced you in any way. We are taking steps to make sure this SITE has been REMOVED. As of today we can no longer find it on the internet. However the parent company that advertised our site was MYERES.

We appreciate this opportunity to respond to you and if you were to book with us through our official sites we would honor the military discount where it applies. Again we have contacted the company above and would advise you to as well. Thank you.

Review: Arrived 7/4/2015 8:12pm no vacancy in town but this Hotel said one left. I have not slept in two day. In the room shabby box spring brown tore up and the floor seem shifty by the bath room. So sleepy I stayed. Didn't shower until morning but I couldn't cause of water under but lining. Standing in the tub with tile in tub was like in a water bed and notices water coming from under the tub on to the floor with a bad smell, had to leave the room. I see why the floor bad, we where lucky we did not fall through. Told manager he said he just took over the hotel and haven't walk all the rooms, and he will give me $25.00 back. I said rooms are $50.00. He said it the holiday. I would like $200.00 back.Desired Settlement: $200.00 back

Review: On April 13, 2014 at 4:43 pm I checked in Econo Lodge Inn & Suites. I went to bed around 8 pm that night and I woke up around 11pm with intense itching on my arms by my inner elbow and my outer arm. My first reaction was maybe I was allergic to the covers so I got out of bed and immediately went to the restroom to see why my arms had a itchy burning sensation and for some reason could not stop scratching. When I looked I noticed a huge bump on my arm and a bump on my inner elbows. I realized that I was not allergic at all that I was bitten by a bug. So I took some pictures and I rushed back to the bed and I began pulling the covers and looking around to see if I could find what bite me, and then I found it a bed bug. I began to scream and immediately called the front desk and no one answered. So I decided to go personally to the front desk. I explained to the front desk clerk what just happened and he immediately gave me another room and apologized for the inconvenience. Later, he explained to me that a full refund would be given to me in the morning by the manager since he was not authorized to do it himself. Unfortunately, in the morning the manager was not available but the morning front desk clerk told me the information would be passed down to her. I waited a week and the manager never contacted me. I made various attempts to contact her but she never was available. I finally decided to ask for a email address to be able to contact her since I had no luck via phone. The email address given to me was invalid. I finally decided to call headquarters and I explained to them what happen. Headquarters had success because they were able to speak to the manager, unfortunately the manager informed them that the did hire a Pest Control Company and they informed them they had no bed bugs. They refused to refund me and told me they would send a $25.00 coupon in the mail for the inconvenience; not yet received. I want my full refund and apology from the company because my stay was not hospitable.Desired Settlement: I want my full refund $63.24, which was paid in cash. I do have a copy of my receipt for my proof and pictures as well of the night that I was bitten.

Review: Back in June, I cancelled a reservation I had made at the Econo Lodge for August 1st. The company gave me a confirmation number ([redacted]) for the cancellation. They then proceeded to charge me for the room on August 1st. When I called them to inform them that I had cancelled the reservation back in June they refused to refund the money and asked me to provide a cancellation number. I gave them the number they had given me at the time of the cancellation. They then tried to say that this was the confirmation number to book the room.

I've called several times over the past two weeks asking to speak to a manger, but I've been told he is not available. Also, they never mailed (or emailed) any kind of receipt for the room, even though they are saying I never cancelled it.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund for $194.

The Guest called the hotel on 06/10/2015 at 8:38 pm and booked a room for 08/01 conf.#[redacted]. I looked into the change log and see the reservation was not opened since the room was booked. When a guest calls and we open the reservation for any reason it shows on the change log. When a guest calls to cancel or change a reservation the staff is trained to give the guest and email the guest the cancellation or confirmation number. I trained all the staff to do this even when the guest does not want it as a way to verify for the guest and hotel that all information is correct for both parties. We eliminate any financial loss for the guest and the property by doing this. This reservation was not canceled with the property and it came with a 72hr cancellation policy so it was charged as a "no show" . If the reservation had been canceled we could have sold that room on that weekend as we were sold out. The Hotel cannot take a loss because the reservation was not canceled. I have copied the change log and reservation. Complaint[redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:When I booked the room on June 8th, I was told that I would receive a confirmation. I never received this confirmation by mail or email, nor did I receive the letter that is attached to the hotel's response. When I called on June 30th to cancel the reservation, the manager told me they would send a cancellation email. I told him that I never received the confirmation email in the first place. He then proceeded to rush me off the phone, saying that the cancellation number was the same as the confirmation number. The call log provided in the response is incorrect. It does not show that I also called on August 2,3,4, and 8th. Each time, I spoke to a gentleman named [redacted]. Each time, [redacted] said the manager was off and that he was not able to handle the situation. He told me the manager would return my call. As of Tuesday August 18th, I still have not received a phone call from the manager.I find it hard to believe that a business would charge someone's credit card without any confirmation or authorization. And, why was no receipt provided once the card was charged? Had this been done, I would have made sure to call again to make sure the reservation was cancelled. Also, if the hotel was still expecting me to check in that day, why was no phone call made when I did not arrive?I also noticed in another customer's review of the hotel [redacted] that they mistakenly cancelled that customer's reservation. It appears that this hotel has experienced similar issues before. I feel that the hotel should hold themselves accountable for their mistake and should look for ways to improve their reservation/cancellation process.

Review: My husband and I recently stayed at Bayview Inn & Suites, March 5&6,2016. I was excited for our trip, but our room was not what we expected. We viewed Bayview Inn & Suites on the website and the pictures portrayed the place and the rooms to look very cozy and nice. We were deceived. When we arrived our day started off discouraging when we checked in. I had to wait over an hour or so to check in because their computers were not working and I was the only one in line. After the hour or so passed I gave the front desk rep my confirmation number and he checked me in but told me they did not have the double bed rooms available that I booked for. I was already frustrated and asked if any rooms were available, at this time shift manager on duty arrived and I expressed my concerns. He proceeded to tell me that all the rooms on one side of the building the hot water was not working; therefore I could not have any available rooms on the right side of the facility. Furthermore, they asked if I wanted a single bed room. I agreed to take the room and we left. We arrived to our room and realized they did not give us our room key. When finally received it and went back to our room. We were so very disappointed and disgusted. The strong smell of the room was overwhelming, we had to crack the door open for relief. The lamp shade was cracked the bathroom was very displeasing; the lighting in the room was poor. There were cracks in the wall. The door latch was broken off; the refrigerator had rust on the bottom door etc. The bed sheets had stains and crumbs on them. It was so disappointing we even took pictures for proof. We were both tired so we wanted to make the best of that night since we traveled over 2 hours. To add the following morning at about 9:10 am to be exact my husband and I was watching TV and to my left I saw a rat running across the room to underneath the refrigerator. Immediately I was done, petrified, panicking and was ready to go. I called the front desk and told them ourDesired Settlement: Immediately I was done, petrified, panicking and was ready to go. I called the front desk and told them our situation and all they could do was apologize, and they did not have common courteously to have maintenance to come and dispose this critter. The front desk gave us his supervisors’ number and we called all morning and we could not get in touch. We began packing and requested for a refund we were told that they could not do anything regarding the rat or refund and they told us we needed

Review: On 8/26/13 I confirmed and paid in full the rental of 3 rooms for a 2 night stay at their property at said location, check-in 10/11/13 to 10/13/13. Because my request for 2 beds per room were not honored via my on line reservation I was advised that I could pay the difference at time of check in on 10/11/13 of which I did pay $60.00( $10.00 per day per room)(I did advise the on duty manager [redacted] of my need to have a ground floor to accommodate a quadriplegic nephew) My problem is that on the night of 10/12/13 upon returning to our rooms after attending a family function @ approx. 3:00am, we found that our door keys did not fit and that the rooms had been reassigned to other people. At that time we were told that they had no other rooms available( I called that double dipping because the rooms were paid for in full at time of reservation 8/26/13) however, they did find 2 rooms w/2 beds on the 2nd floor for us, but the main room that we needed for the 1st floor due to a quadriplegic nephew, they could only find a room with 1 bed so my paralyzed nephew slept on the bed and his caretaker brother and brothers wife slept on the floor. How embarrassing and humiliating. Upon checkout I requested from the manager, [redacted], the extra $10.00 that I paid at check in and was advised that he could not give me a refund," after all they did find us rooms" albeit they gave our original rooms away. I believe this may be a common practice of theirs and I will never ever use them again. I'm still waiting for my refund.Desired Settlement: They need to apologize to myself and my family for the way in which we were treated, their policy and procedures need to be revisited if they have any, your agency need to be on notice that this practice need to cease and desist for any future guest and last request is to give me my refund.

Review: On June 27th, 2014, my wife & I were to check into this establishment for three nights as part of my birthday celebration. Upon arrival, it was very apparent that this hotel used altered pictures to advertise this [redacted], motel. Upon alerting the owner/manager I did not feel safe and wanted to cancel the reservation, I was told that they would still have to charge us for one night. When we went to another hotel, we found out that this establishment had authorized my credit card twice for $231.00 each, plus the one night charge. Even though the two charges were not taken from my account as of yet, it put a hold on the total amount of $557.15 that made my card not have enough available balance to get another room. So we ended up driving all the way back home and my birthday weekend was ruined. This reservation was made thru [redacted] and upon telling them of this situation was immediately given the run-around saying that until they actually take the money from my account there's nothing they could do. When I asked to speak to the Supevisor named [redacted], he said I should have taken pictures, and I immediately told him that was crazy to expect someone to drive around the complex taking pictures of people that are obviously there for criminal activities. Needless to say, he had no intentions of helping me, and I informed him that I believe that [redacted] is in on the scam. When anyone with a shred of common sense would pull into the parking lot, all of the lewd guests would come out of their rooms and look over the new prey. It was HORRIBLE!Personally, I believe that the scam is to charge unsuspecting victims at least one night because you have NO WAY of knowing it's a dive until you get there and they charge you at least one night. They are double booking rooms that no one in their right mind would stay in. The pictures on [redacted] did not look anything like the actual location, which leads me to believe they are in on it.Desired Settlement: I want my "One Night" charged refunded to me seeing as though I did NOT stay for fear of my life.

Review: On 2/14/15, I checked into the EconoLodge Hotel in [redacted], New Jersey. While walking to the room I noticed garbage cans filled high and falling to the ground. Upon entering into the room there was a foul smell of alcohol and smoke. The carpet was dirty, with stains and I found the room to be below my standards of comfort. I immediately called the front desk and asked to speak to the Manager. I reported my concerns to the clerk to which he stated their was no manager available until next week. I told him I was checking out and wished to cancel my stay due to the poor conditions. I returned the room key to the front desk, and left the hotel all within a matter of minutes. I left and reserved a room at different Hotel. However, I received a bill from this hotel along with a false report that I had a late checkout. The standard of cleanliness and quality of a professional service was not implemented at this hotel. The type and price of service did not meet the accommodations I expected. The Supply of Goods and Services Act of 1982, was not provided nor serviced at this location.Desired Settlement: I am legally entitled to receive full compensation from this hotel because I did not complete my stay there.

Review: I was scheduled to arrive on saturday 9/5/15 for a 1 night stay.I prepaid 173.00.On my way there my car broke down and over heated in nyc.I called the hotel every hour on the hour no one answered the phone the first call started at around 12 noon.I finally was able to reach someone that answered the phone at 7pm.This employee told me I had to speak to a manager because he did not know how to complete the transaction to refund my money. He said the manager just stepped out to call back in about an hour.Called back in an hour guess what no one answers the phone call call call finally reach someone who decides to answer the phone at 10:30 pm.He tells me I have to speak to the manager and he wont be in till the morning around 9am.He also does not know how to complete the transaction.Called at 9am spoke to the manager. His name is [redacted] according to the employee I spoke to the night before. When I spoke to him I told him what had happened He told me that: your problem not mine....He said it is on the website if you dont cancel 48 hours in advance you will lose your money no refund. That is not true on the website it says free cancellation. He was rude, nasty and he hung up on me.I can understand if he said there is a 30 or 35 or even 50 dollar fee but he said no refund. This hotel is scamming people out of money on a daily basis. It took me 2 days to even speak to someone who was suppose to help me and after 30 or more phone calls he didnt. The money he swindled out of me was 173.00 of hard earned money.I tried to put complaint in to Revdex.com new jersey on the alliance website as it came up for the complaint form and the form couldn't recognise the business. The complaint could not be transmitted because of that.I am sure that there is more than just I that have complaints about this hotel.Swindling people out of money is against the law and I am going to do everything that is humanly possible to get my money back and prevent this from happening to anyone else.Desired Settlement: Refund my money as soon as possible

Review: The outline of the complaint is as follows:1) The young male clerk behind the desk was not honest about how much the price of the room was nor if they had availability. Although, eventually he rented to me, there was discourse from the beginning. I had to be persistent to get the $57 room rate and to get him to admit he had availability. I was charged for having a dog and the room total came to $75) The hotel room was in bad condition. I rented the room # [redacted] on 3-24-15 to 3-25-15. The carpet smelled like urine, the bathroom wasn't cleaned and I had to clean it. The towels were like sandpaper and the white sheets were stiff. The bathroom tub faucet leaked hot water. 3) There was someone at the entrance of the hotel in the driveway, proposing me to buy drugs Sunday evening after 9pm. Upon entering the driveway, I could smell Marijuana. I was stopped as I was coming in, and proposed and subsequently, was hailed over in the parking lot after I exited my vehicle. I contacted the [redacted] Police and made a report over the phone to Narcotics.4) The neighbors next to me were fighting Sunday night all night, slamming their front door and screaming and yelling.5) I notified the clerk that I was having the above issues and is their another room for us to move and he said there wasn't. he did say he would report the issues I had to his boss.6) During the night, I didn't sleep well because I was itching on my arms. I felt like I got bit my insects and not sure if they were bedbugs or not. I have contacted the City of [redacted] and I am waiting for a return call from the appropriate dept to handle my complaint. I was told the inspector was out in the field working today.7) I wrote a complaint letter to the owner of the hotel yesterday (Mrs. [redacted]), and sent it electronically. I received a short response from the manager today stating they are not prepared to do anything except offer their apologies for my stay. (If you call it that) from a person who signed the letter [redacted]Desired Settlement: In my letter, I asked for a refund of the $75 that I paid and Id like them to pay for my visit to a doctor to have them check out my arms and see the marks (I think they were insect bites)Id like to make sure they weren't bedbugs

Review: My husband Anthony, myself and my two children stayed at Econo Lodge on 8/21/14. The first room they put us in looked very dirty. The microwave was on the floor by the door, and the toilet seat had peeling paint on it. They switched our room to 135. There were no towels or wash clothes in the room. I went to the front desk and I asked the young lady for 4 towels and 4 washcloths. The lady picked up a towel off the floor and told me that we can share that towel which is all they have. My husband and I was very upset and asked to speak to a supervisor. She told me the supervisor [redacted] will be in in the morning around 8:00am. I went back at 8:15am and spoke to [redacted] who says she is not the supervisor and said the manager [redacted] was not there and she would have her call me. This was Saturday and we checked out without taking a bath or shower because of no towels or washcloths. I went home back to [redacted] and took a shower. Never heard back from anyone. Now it's Monday 8/25/14, I called Econo Lodge and spoke to [redacted] again and she said no manager is there and she would take another message. I feel like I'm getting the run around and at this point I feel we should be refunded since they did not have the proper necessity items that should be in a hotel. This place should not be allowed to open without proper items like towels and wash cloths in every room. Please help us with this issue and this is very frustrating. Thank you so much.Desired Settlement: $68.00

On Sunday, December 27 I checked into Econolodge in Lester, PA, and I didn't have a problem until Tuesday December 29th, when I noticed a bug crawling on the small refrigerator in the room. I thought it was my imagination, but then saw it again. I called the front desk and spoke to someone who said that he would see what he could do. I then saw the bug/bugs again and it was a cockroach. I called the front desk and told the woman who answered the phone, I needed to change rooms immediately. She was very accommodating. I also told her I would not be paying for that nights stay. She said that I needed to speak to the manager.

Review: November, 8th, 2014 I checked into my room around 5:15pm and what I walked into was nothing short of a nightmare. First, let me discuss my elevator ride; once you get inside of the elevator is moves around as if it is unsteady and there is graffiti on the paneling. Once the elevator starts to move it sounds as if it is in need of maintenance or repair the way it jerks and squealed all the way up to the fourth floor. Then on my way through the hallway I was forced to walk through trash that was sitting outside peoples rooms; the bags of trash had old food in them so it omitted a noxious odor through the halls. I get to my room and find that the room smells worse than the hallway; if I had to describe it, I would say that it smelled like an adults urine. The room was stuffy and the smell was nauseating, so I was forced to turn on the air conditioning so that I could get the air circulating and be able to breathe. When I finally started to unpack I got a good look around the room [# [redacted]] and to my dismay I saw how filthy the room was: the sheets had what looked to be blood stains, the curtain rod was sinking/bending in the middle (I guess from the weight of the curtains), there was a layer of dust on every surface area (when I moved the comforter dust flew everywhere) I have allergies and it was becoming increasingly difficult to breathe in the room, the toilet was visibly dirty. I could tell no one cleaned the bathroom thoroughly because when I turned on the water to take a shower there was a message written on the mirror, which indicated that it was not cleaned. The small refrigerator had food left inside [yogurt] who knows how long that was in there. My throat was becoming scratchy from the dust in the room so I decided to get some something to drink (at the front counter there is a paper that advertises what soda/snack machines are available and where they are located in the building. On the 4th floor there is a [redacted] machine that is Sold Out, I walked down to the 3rd floor where there is a [redacted] machine and that was out of order with no sign [false advertisement]. I called the front desk to complain about my room and how the machines werent in working order; a man that answered told me that he knew nothing and was recently employed there. [Older man of maybe [redacted] descent] I was outraged that he did not offer an apology or any assistance, I had to go down the street to [redacted] [Gas Station] to get a beverage and it wouldnt have been so bad if the machines werent advertised at the front desk because I wouldve already had drinks but I thought that was one less thing I had to do since they were suppose to be there. I travel a lot and have gone to many different hotels and I have to say this is the worst experience by far I have had and I did like Econo Lodge because of their reasonable prices but if this is what I am going to get for what I paid then I dont mind paying more to go to a place with a cleaner facility, better customer service and working machinery. Choice Hotels mission statement, Deliver a franchise success system of strong brands, exceptional services, vast consumer reach and size, scale and distribution that delivers guests, satisfies guests and reduces cost for hotel owners. They have failed their mission miserably in my eyesDesired Settlement: I want a refund. I hope Econo Lodge can do better but; I feel like I would have been better off if I pitched a tent outside and roughed it than stayed in that filthy hotel room. To be honest I will never stay at another Econo Lodge if I can help it. I find it hard to believe that they can redeem themselves after this folly, I know for a fact that the owner would not subject him or herself to those kinds of conditions so why subject the Customer [Boss] because without us you would be unemployed.

Review: I stayed at the Econo Lodge in [redacted], PA for two night this past week. During my stay, this second day I woke up very itchy and was progressively scratching throughout the day. Once back to the hotel room I began to inspect what was itchy. I had bed bug bites all over the right side and portions of my back. (For documentation I took pictures at the hotel that day and then when I came back home on 4/3/13.) The second night, I asked for a change of the rooms and response I received was that they would wash my clothes and switch my room. The other portion that struck me was quote for quote the front desk said "yea we sometimes have problems with the third floor." I then thought to myself why the heck would you place a guest on the floor that you knowingly have had problems with it. I further pursued the hotel for some form of compensation and after many reluctant phone calls, I spoke with the general manager. He offered me a one night refund. I thought this was ridiculous and it should be a the very least a full refund for getting bit by bedbugs in your hotel. He then told me its one night or nothing. I believe that this is a blatant way of saying that they do not care for their customers. As if I had to take a miniscule amount for the problem that happened. Bed bugs are extremely easily carried back home and it can be a major problem. I believe that this hotel and staff was very apathetic to my situation.Desired Settlement: I would be satisfied with a full refund, but I believe that further compensation is not out of the question.

I am rejecting this response because:

I did not recieve any attachments with the email from the Revdex.com. I have not recieved any type of settlement yet for the complaint. I recieved an email from someone on the behalf of the hotel.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

I stated clearly, in the attached email from the company, why I think that one night stay was not enough compensation. for them to think that I am attempting to scam then makes me more inclined to ask for a full refund. I don't see how they are going to question my integrity when they own a hotel that is infested with beds bugs, and still allow guest to stay in the infested rooms.
