We surrendered our *** *** *** (which is now *** ***) to Edward Jones when requested to keep track of our assets
We decided to transfer our assets to *** *** due to a different retirement strategyEdward Jones has charged a $Fee to transfer our stockThey are not entitled to this fee as they have provided NO service or advice regarding this accountI called Edward Jones (Bob Gregory) and was advised to contact the customer service line and the Hold time was over a hour A agent called the next day and I shared my concern and was told that I could call the legal departmentThen I spoke with *** *** who is very nice but stated she could not help and no refund would be remittedI left a message for Bob Gregory and he never even returned my called I am very disappointed with Edward Jones

James ***, Financial Advisor of the North Seattle Office went to *** Gardens (an independent senior living facility close to his office) and formed a "relationship" with our father who has early onset dementia, Alzheimers, and a massive drinking problem and made progress in trying to get our impaired father to transfer his assets from *** *** in NYC from a broker who has worked with our family for over thirty yearsHe got so far as to calling our family attorney to see "who held the Power of Attorney" over the assets - we do and its not going to anyone who solicits business from impaired senior citizensWithout a long time family friend and attorney and children (us) who watch over our Dad - this sleazebag would have gotten our father's money under his belt to "manage" (steal.) I am pursuing measures to prevent this person from preying on other older people who might not be as fortunate to have people watching over them and their assetsWhat does a small time broker with no known references have to offer over a long time relationship with *** *** in New York City

My mother passed away on October and had a Transfer on Death document in place to devide her assets to designated beneficiaries Was originally told assets could be obtained within or daysAlso, my two.nieces who are to receive 25% were told they had to open a Edward Jones account to gain their share After a few days then it would be two monthsIt is now January and I have not received the distribution Also, no idea what was being done with the money he how it was down voided equally If my mother was deceased who controlled the investments during that time I asked to speak to someone in the estate dept and never received a callThen asked to speak to the next level of management above the branch and to date have not received a call

On 8/14/17, I set up automatic deductions to an Edward Jones account
On 8/17/17, I spoke with Edward Jones' support line over the phone and permanently cancelled all automatic deductions
On 9/1/and 10/1/17, Edward Jones automatically removed $from my account
On 10/4/17, I was unable to reach Edward Jones' support line by phone and sent an email to my branch requesting that the money be refunded and again requesting to cease all future automatic deductions.Location involved - *** *** *** *** ** ***

Edward Jones held a stock certificate for *** *** *** for me in an IRA account for approximately yearsEarlier this year they told me they could no longer hold the stock certificate and mailed it to me, affixing a value of $78,to the certificate and reporting this amount to the IRSThe amount they assigned was the original amount of the shares when the stock certificate was given to them
No cash was received by me and the value of certificate may be I had previously asked the Edward Jones Financial Advisor to sell the stock for whatever the value and they refused nor did they attempt to find the true value of the stock before returning the certificate and assigning the monetary value
I have spoken to a tax lawyer and unfortunately I have no recourse unless they amend the stock issue statement and assign a realistic value which at the current time may be I am willing to pay taxes on any money I receive for this stock
I firmly believe Edward Jones did

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 11, 2015/11/13) */

After cashing out both a 401K and an IRA Edward Jones had given me the option of having them pay the taxes and fees associated with an early withdraw and I had said yes trusting that they would be competent in their work After receiving the tax forms and taking them to a tax preparer I found out that Edward Jones had not only not only failed to pay the penalties, but failed to pay the state taxes, and failed to take in account that the withdraw was going to jump me up to the next tax bracket increasing tax percentage from 10% to 15% Now thanks to the incompetence of Edward Jones I am left OWING taxes of just over $4, Thanks a lot

Edward Jones takes all client complaints seriously. We are reviewing this matter and will seek to reach a resolution directly with the client

I had a 401K with *** *** that I wanted to transfer into my Edward Jones account to the Minocqua branch office I spoke with my financial advisor at the Edward Jones office in Minocqua WI The advisor at the office there is *** *** tried to help me contact *** *** to do the transfer per phone but I needed a pin number first so I had to do this on my own at home I was told to just ask them to close the account and have them send me a check Once I received this check I was to bring it to Edward Johns to it could be deposited and rolled over in my current accountI contacted *** *** and did that and I received a check for only partial amount *** *** withheld money to pay the taxes on this *** did try many times to contact *** *** to get this money back which I was told it would be no big deal to get it back In the end we were not able to and I was told by the *** that I could claim that money at tax time and I would get it all back ***

I have a trust account for my son *** at Edward JonesEdward Jones has refused twice in our request for two thousand dollars and four thousand dollarsMy son needs the money for his college expensesHis grandmother died recently and she provided him with his meals; however now *** has to eat out all the time; which costs moneyHe is starving because Edward Jones is not releasing the moneyI have written two certified letters requesting the money and also the documents that say I am the primary trusteeThere is no second person required to release the funds; as I got $10, released in for his used car*** used to live in the University of Hawaii dorm but now lives at homeHe needs the car to travel back and forth to school from his grandfathers house in Pearl city

My parents passed away this year and they had funds with Edward Jones In the process of taking care of the money we were asked to sign a form with the standard "by signing this you agree with the terms above" line where we sign In reading the terms, it says that there will be a $fee The small print said that the fee MAY BE waived We were told verbally that the fee would be waived I called and asked for it to be put in writing that the fees would be waived I was told they could not do that When I asked why I was just told we don't do that I then called corporate and was told that they couldn't simply send me an email that said "no fees will be charged" They said the compliancy department had to approve all emails I asked to talk to that department and was told that I could not talk to them I told the person I was speaking with at corporate that if fees are to be waived then why can't it be in writing? By me signing the form, which I HAD to do to receive my money, I was agreeing to a $fee I was told that there was no form stating fees are waived I told them it was simple just make one or email me stating it Edward Jones completely refused to put in writing that there would be no fees If an agent is able to waive fees they should have the ability to put in writing those fees are waived I had a hard time signing the form because I didn't agree to their terms, but I had to sign it on their terms Totally unprofessional and seems like a dishonest place Why worry about putting it in writing? Seems fishy to me!!

I began my experience with Edward Jones about one year ago My account was set up for Roth At first, the adviser told me I could make deposits of any amount till I met the amount able to invest of $5, I began making deposits and was informed by the staff that I actually had enough to get started investing At the time, I had $2,in the account The adviser then told me they would not recommend investing yet because of the fees and would need the full $5,before starting
I stopped calling to make deposits until I was ready to with the full amount I called to transfer the amount like I had done prior, then informed I could not transfer because the adviser was on vacation After waiting two weeks of waiting for the adviser to return, I followed up with him to learn I would need to create a new Roth account due to my current account being a Grandfathered Roth Also, my electric transfer will need to be resigned due to needing a new account
I held my ground and asked for the electric transfer Sister had sent money by check like the adviser requested The check was not applied to her account for six weeks
I am on my fifth phone regarding transferring money Every time I call, my adviser denies my request There is a different excuse all the time like the adviser states he doesn't have the right set up for the account, unable to operate his computer because of the updates, and unsure of the guidelines for my account because he hasn't read the page document regarding the new terms of my accountHe usually lets me know he will "research it some more."
I'm not happy with my service with Edward JonesI understand I am new to investing and getting started I feel like I get the round around due to my age and the small amount I have to get started with I picked the firm because my mother, uncle, aunt, and grandmother are current customers and seems lukewarm about their experience I have never met a Financial adviser who would not take my money I was not anticipating the unprofessional-ism regarding a simple retirement account I wish I would've found the consumer reports list of questions to ask before hiring an adviser and the found information like BrokerCheck or Investor Adviser Public Disclosure website to help make my decision to hire an investor

Below is what was emailed twice to their complaint dept with no response
My name is *** *** and I am writing a formal complaint in reference to my Roth IRA AccountBelow is a chronological bullet list of the account from beginning to now (months)I am formally requesting that this get dealt with any my resolution is granted or I will be forced to escalate the matter to Government involvementPlease note that you have till this Friday April 1st, by 3pm to have this matter settledThis is NOT an April fool’s joke and I am available to speak on the matter any time and day except Wednesday
Start of the account:
• I met Financial Advisor *** J*** at a business networking meetingAfter hearing him discuss how he does his job I engaged him in a discussion about my retirement money that was at the time with Vangaurd Money Market
• My goal was simple, I knew there was money to make in stock and fundsI was not expecting to me generate large financial gain

I opened up a Roth IRA account just a little over a year agoI was working with an investor who was new to the job and who only worked there for a few months before leavingI only made a couple small deposits into this account and it never became invested in any wayOnce my original financial advisor left, I happened to leave my job and relocate, so I stopped contributing and left the money in the account with plans to begin contributing laterA couple months ago, I tried to withdraw money from the account as I had done with another account I had open with Edward Jones at the time, but it would not allow this because it required a minimum amount in the account for future fees to be taken outA few days later, a $annual fee was charged, however a message from Edward Jones had declared that such a fee was not due until SeptemberThen, today, I received a call that informed me that, due to new laws, they were requiring accounts to have a minimum opening balance of $Therefor

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)

Ms***, We recently received your complaint # *** from the Revdex.com regarding your Action Pro White accountWe take complaints very seriously and we hope this response will provide you with additional informationAccording to our records, we received your order on April 1, 2015 and shipped your package the same day.The terms of the offer that you agreed to at the time of your order clearly state that you were to have a ten day trial period starting from the date of your order processing in which you could cancel your account to avoid further chargesThey also indicate that “you must take affirmative action to avoid further charges or you will be charged in the amount of $ten days from the date of your order processing for the product.” These terms were presented to you in multiple places on our website when you ordered our productAdditionally, you were sent an order confirmation email after your order was completed that provided a full written version of the terms you agreed to. When you ordered the product you also checked a box indicating that you had read and agreed to the terms of the offerWhen a customer checks that box we must assume that they have actually done what they are stating they didIf there was any confusion with the terms you could have called our customer service team and they would have been happy to assist you.Since we did not hear from you during your trial period, you were charged $on April 11, The first time we heard from you regarding the cancelation of your account was when you spoke to a representative on May 13, after you had already been chargedYour account was immediately canceled and you have not received any shipments or charges since thenAt that time we issued you a returned merchandise authorization number to return your May shipment for a refund of the full product priceYour initial shipment and charge of $was not refundable as we did not hear from anyone to cancel within the trial period.Your return was received within the return deadline date and a refund of $was already issued back to you on May 15, That is the full product price of the May shipment minus $for shipping costs, which per the terms that you agreed to is not refundable As stated in our purchase terms you may only return the most recent shipment for a refundSo, in summary, we have issued you a refund for $but your account is not eligible for any further refundsYour account remains canceled and you will not receive any further shipments or charges.*** ***
