Review: I have made several attempts to contact the company regarding a small collections against me amounting to $158. I have only gotten through on two occasions. One where they promised to send me a copy of the bill and dates of service along with what services where given. (medical bill) On the dates that were give to me I had [redacted] insurance and it should have been fully covered, and that is why I was requesting the bill in detail. This was about a month and a half ago and I have yet to receive anything. I finally got a hold of someone today where they asked my name and social then put me on hold for OVER 30 minutes, only for no one to return to the phone. It is extremely disappointing that I cannot get through to anyone or that they have not fulfilled my request for the detailed bill. I am worried that maybe it is a fraudulent company because I should have no medical bills past due because of fully being covered through the military but no one will answer my calls or return them for that matter either. I never even received a bill for this only finding out because of a credit check for myself.Desired Settlement: I would like someone to contact me regarding my issue with the company as well as a detailed itemization of my services they are stating that I had some years ago.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: A refund was NEVER made by NCO to my account and all information was sent both times money was taken from my account without authorization. I have never got my money back that was owed to me NCO. I had to file a unauthorization payment from my bank that only gave me $238.00 which was paid on May 31 2013. I am still waiting on my last $38.00 NSF which I am unsure if that will ever get paid back.

I was told that on the 29 APR that a paper check was sent from NY and now I am being told that money placed back into my account. Little odd that I was told that a paper check was coming. The money was never placed back into my account. I placed a stop payment on my account and I would like to pay my debit only by money order. I would like a mailing address to send payment to.

I work to hard for the little bit of money I get and you are no longer get any other form of payment other then a money order. I want settlement for this account and I want to close this account.

I am rejecting this response because: We are still waiting for the other payment to be returned. Once again, I will give a bank statement proving once again that payment was taken out without lawful consent and was never returned.

We did however after 3 months of waiting we did get the 1st $138.00 back into our account -- June 14 2013.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

The letter claims that the company cannot investigate further without my social security number and information about their so-called claim. First off, it makes no sense that NCO Financial not able to identify the "claim" by just using my name unless they have multiple people with the same name. Secondly, there is no way in the world that I would provide my SSN or any personal information to such a shady organization. Thirdly, the voice messages that I receive EVERY DAY from this operation do not state any specifics about their "claim," such as the purported amount or the alleged creditor. Providing this information would likely provide them with ammunition to further harrass me.

In short, this is a nonsensical response intended to deflect Revdex.com's investigation into the activities of a company that tries to hassle people constantly so they will become flustered, call back and be lured into making payment(s) on a nonexistent debt. The fact that they do not provide any specifics of their alleged claims in their voicemails or to the Revdex.com is telling evidence of their fraudulent conduct.

Hi [redacted],

NCO is still calling my home number every day, including weekends. My home number is: [redacted]. I am considering changing my home number, but this would generate a lot of work in terms of notifying friends and companies with whom I have accounts of the new number.

Thank you for your help on this!

Date Sent: 3/18/2013 4:14:11 PM

I am rejecting this response because:

NCO Financial's response requests personal information like my social security number which I will not release to an organization that: 1) does not state or have any claim against me; 2) has been robo-calling my home number incessantly without providing any alleged claim information; 3) has a well-documented history of fraudulent activity; and 4) may use my confidential information to further injure and harrass me.

I would request that the Revdex.com take some affirmative action against NCO rather than simply serve as a courier for their correspondence, which only seeks to delay and deflect my claim. I would venture that this has been NCO's tactic with respect to claims by numerous other aggrieved individuals like myself.

Thank you for your assistance.

They have been told at least four times they have the wrong person, yet they continue to call and harass my employees, demanding to put me on the phone. They have also assured me twice that my office number will be removed from the system, but the calls persist. Today, I spoke with a supervisor, [redacted], who further promised to rectify the situation. I informed **. Review: My student loan was turned over to this collection agency. I received a statement in August 2013 indicating a balance of $4,512.03. They contacted me yesterday, October 17, 2013 at 2:45PM and said I owed over $5,600. The collection agent [redacted] stated that about $1.090 was added to the balance I owe because the debt was recently turned over to her agency. She stated that she worked for NCO Financial at the beginning of the conversation which is the same collection company that was handing it before. When I asked her what agency had turned it over she stated she could not see that information. I asked to speak to her supervisor. I asked him why this extra would be charged to my account he also could not explain the reason. He said that I just have to accept the $1,090 charge and pay it.

Each time I talk to them I have told them I am still unemployed and have no money to give them. I also tell them I will try to get someone in my family to help me pay the debt. This $1,090 charge should be reversed and deducted from the balance I owe.

I would also like for the debt to be returned to the student loan company. I have been unemployed and homeless since 2007 and payment on student loans should be deferred when people become unemployed. They have a statement from me stating that I am unemployed and a copy of my unemployment request which was denied, and they should not be able to turn it over to a collection agency because the mail going to my address was returned. My house was repossessed and I no longer had an address to give them.

Although recently someone in my family has allowed me to stay with them, I still have no income and cannot find employment. I would like to return to school to further my career but I have no way to pay for school and cannot obtain a student loan because mine is in default. I paid most of my student loan back when I was employed but it seems the student loan company is trying to keep me unemployed. Most of all NCO Financial is trying to make outrageous unlawful collections. They are abusing the Federal powers they have in collecting student loan debts but not acting under the Federal standards established to collect student loan debts. There is no reason a $1,090 charge should be posted to my account. [redacted] and her supervisor should loose their job for not attempting to reverse the erroneous charge or even understand why it is there.Desired Settlement: Deduct $1,090 from the outstanding balance I owe

I understand and thank you for enlightening me with your explanation of accrued interest. But please explain to me why the statement I receive in late August 2013 indicated that I owed a total balance, including principle and interest, that was $1,100 lower than the balance I was told I owed in October and the balance you are indicating here. An interest charge of $1,100 for one month on a $4,500 loan would be about 293% which is substantially higher than the interest rate on my student loan.

Response:

Dear [redacted]:

I acknowledge receipt of the November 18, 2013 follow up complaint regarding to the above referenced consumer. Per the validation that NCO sent in response to the October 21, 2103 complaint, as of November 5, 2013, the total balance due for all of the above-referenced accounts was $5,646.38. This amount includes the principal, interest, and collection fees that have been applied to each account. Specifically, the principal and interest equals $4,553.53 of the total balance ($3,861.71 in principal and $691.82 in interest).

Regarding the interest, $180.25 is for the interest that accrued on the accounts before the accounts went into a default status. The $511.57 interest due relates to interest that accrued on the accounts post default. The additional $1,092.85 charge relates to the total amount of collection fees that were added to each account once they were placed for collection. Please note that all of the interest and fees are being applied to this account in accordance with the terms of the promissory notes or as otherwise provided by applicable state and/or federal laws.

In addition, NCO requests that [redacted] contact [redacted] directly at ###-###-####, extension [redacted] with any additional questions regarding the accounts

Dear [redacted]:

I acknowledge receipt of the December 3 follow up complaint regarding to the above referenced consumer. NCO has confirmed that the client added collection costs to the outstanding principal and interest that was due when [redacted] defaulted on each loan. The client has advised NCO that the current collection fee that is being applied to each account is 24.34% of the outstanding principal and interest. As previously stated in NCO’s November 27, 2013 letter, the collection fees are being applied in accordance with the terms and conditions of [redacted]’s promissory note or as otherwise provided by applicable state and/or federal laws. Enclosed is a copy of the master promissory note relating to these loans.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: the promissory notes I signed all say the same thing regarding this matter. The promissory note states that if I fail to make a payment that I will have to the balance,, interest and reasonable collection fees. It does not state that I have to pay whatever fee you or anyone else arbitrarily decides to post to my account. It states that I will only have to pay reasonable collection fees. Posting a collection fee increasing the balance I owe 25% all of a sudden, four years after taking over collection efforts on my account, without any logical explanation as to where it came from is not in any way reasonable.

You and your staff need to be made aware that whatever fee you decide to charge does not make it reasonable. Adding 25% out of the blue to a loan balance is not considered reasonable for student loans.

I should add that since I am dealing with a debt collector, if I don't hear back from you within 30 days, I will consider this debt written off or $0.

Back in August of 2008, my wife ([redacted]) moved from [redacted] across the street to [redacted] and had the utilities moved or shut off at the former residence. At that time, she/we had all our mail legally forwarded to the new address. In addition, because the house was down the street, our mail carrier delivered all mail to the new address. In fact, to this day, she continues to deliver the occasional piece of mail addressed to my wife at [redacted] to the new house.

Up until May 3, 2013, we were unaware of owing $19.15 to [redacted] (the previous gas company which [redacted] bought). At no time up until May 3, 2013 had she/we received an outstanding bill or a phone call about the missing payment, which makes me question if [redacted] even actually mailed a final shutoff bill.

The first time I was made aware of this debt was on May 3, 2013 when a representative from ACO/NCO called the house. In our discussion, I was told that we owed $19.15 to [redacted]. I asked a few simple questions which your representative could not answer. The first question was “Why have we not received a bill in 5 years?” and the second question was “for what month was the missed payment?”. The ACO/NCO representative did not have the answer to these two questions, so I decided to call [redacted] directly.

After hanging up the phone with ACO/NCO, I immediately called [redacted]. After explaining the situation, [redacted] and I determined it was the last month shut-off bill for August 2008. I paid the $19.15 plus a $2 phone fee and was given a payment confirmation number which is 44123000.

Unfortunately, there seems to be a communication breakdown between ACO/NCO and [redacted] because on August 11, 2013, I returned a call from [redacted] at ACO/NCO. [redacted] stated that according to ACO/NCO’s records the $19.15 is still outstanding. I was not as prepared for this call as I should have been because I did not readily have the [redacted] payment confirmation nor could I quickly find the charge on my credit card, but I assured [redacted] that I did indeed pay the bill on May 3, 2013 directly to [redacted].

During this discussion, [redacted] stated a few things to which I take offense. First, he stated “let me put your mind at ease, if you did indeed pay [redacted] there is a Massachusetts law that states they must report it to us no later than 7 business days. Since it’s been 3 months I don’t think you paid it.”

Secondly, [redacted] stated “neither ACO/NCO nor [redacted] ever make a payment mistake and since you cannot provide me a confirmation you must not have paid it.”

Lastly, he inferred I was lying about paying [redacted] in his tone and other statements that were made. I pride myself to be an honest, trustworthy person and I take great offense at his accusation of my character.

On August 12, 2013 in response to my discussion with [redacted], I called [redacted], who acknowledged that not only was my bill paid on May 3, 2013, it was reported to ACO/NCO on May 31, 2013.

I believe I have not only been misled and lied to by your staff but also have been treated as a liar. After confirming with [redacted] that this is indeed paid, please immediately remove the $19.15 debt from collections and remove any outstanding charge or note on her credit report immediately.

In addition, I am requesting an immediate apology from [redacted] for misrepresenting information in statements he made to me during our discussion.

Lastly, if [redacted]’s statement of “Massachusetts Law states that [redacted] has 7 business days to report a payment to us” then [redacted] (and ACO/NCO as a paid client) has broken the law and I am entitled to triple damages under state law. If Massachusetts does not have a law in regard to the amount of time [redacted] has to report the payment then [redacted]’s statement would be in direct violation of the Fair Debt Collection Act of 2002, 807, False or misleading representation {15 USC 1692e} which forbids:

(10) The use of any false representation or deceptive means to collect or attempt to collect any debt or to obtain information concerning a consumer.

If a written apology is not forthcoming from [redacted] or your company, I will continue to pursue this matter with every avenue afforded to me under the Fair Debt Collection Act.

I thank you for your time in this matter and hope it can be resolved as quickly as possible.Desired Settlement: Remove the $19.15 debt from collections and remove any outstanding charge or note on her credit report immediately. A formal written apology from [redacted] Cobb or NCO.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

I feel the NCO representative stated non-existent Massachusetts laws to collect a debt that had already been paid for previously. I feel making up non-existent laws, lying about how their company and [redacted] never make a mistake (which they obvious did this time around which I proved) and treating me as a liar when I was the only person stating the truth during the conversation is in violation of the Fair Debt Act. I feel I am at a minimal due a written apology for being lied to by their organization.

Regards,

Review: This company keeps calling me almost daily bugging me about a supposed debt, but I do not owe any debts. The company repeatedly leaves automated voicemail messages asking me to call a number to resolve the issue but fails to provide my name, phone number, or other identifying information to confirm that this is not an error. The company also fails to reveal who the debt is owed to or the amount of the debt. When I called the number provided in the voicemail message, I was put on hold and then eventually transferred to an automated voice mailbox to leave a message, but I could not leave a message as the mailbox was full.Desired Settlement: I want the company to stop contacting me since they cannot produce proof that I am the person they are trying to contact, and they will not divulge what is owed or to whom it is owed.

Review: December 13, 2013

On November 26, I received a call from you, [redacted] Alston stating they were collecting a debit in the amount of 700 and some old numbers. (I was driving and unable to write the information down) and that they were collecting for the Common Wealth of Virginia.

I explained that this debit as deducted from my tax refund and not owed. I also stated that I need you to send my information and proof of this debit and I would get the information from the IRS that showed that it was paid.

You told me that this would not stop legal action and it was going into legal action. I said can I pay $50.00 to stop it from proceeding until I can send you the information that it was paid.

You then told me NO you HAD to have $75.00 and payment arrangements. To stop further legal proceed per YOUR demand I agreed to $75.00 then and $75.00 a month until I could get the required proof that it was no owed and clearly asked once I do this you will refund the money that as paid since it is not owed. You stated that the Common Wealth of Virginia would refund any over payment.

I provide you with my mailing address so you could send me proof of the debit, however you did not comply you only mailed a bill of a payment due to the WRONG ADDRESS. It was sent to my previous address in Virginia.

Then it was brought to my attention that the amount of $87.00 was deducted from my card when only the 75.00 was authorized. This is your formal notice to cancel these payment arrangements immediately and refund the $87.00. This debit is not owed as previously stated and I will not make any additional payments until I have proof of this Debit. No future payment are to be withdrawn from my account.Desired Settlement: see Attached document
