Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/01/14) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
No I do not accept this response as it is just brushing off my, and many other's, concerns as a non-issue
I understand what they keep repeating about their policies, but I am not satisfied by their response, and their reaction of "We're not going to even bother responding to your questions and concerns if you don't follow our policy"
The principle is that people who are already QUESTIONING YOUR POLICY have PRIVACY CONCERNS and you are not responding to them responsiblyAt all
Their have been petitions for several users who are being affected by these username witchhunts
It's not responsible as a social media, to blatantly ignore people's real concerns and refuse to engage them in actual dialogue, or take any action until they submit to the very policy they're concerned about
Do you guys even CARE about the people you're forcing to identify themselves this way?
Some people have pseudonyms for safety's sake
So are you pretty much just telling those people
"Whelp! It sucks you've had a bad experience! Just don't use Facebook then!"
What are your REALISTIC options for people who don't agree with your name policy and STILL want to communicate with those they trust on their account?
I've said it like ten times, and I'll say it again
THIS POLICY IS SHORT-SIGHTED AND CANNOT REALISTICALLY APPLY TO EVERYONE'S SITUATION!
Thank you

Hi ***,
Please be aware that we enforce the Statement of Rights and Responsibilities when we encounter violations on the site or receive reports of violationsFacebook Timelines are intended for individual use and to represent real people using their authentic namesIf accounts like this currently exist on the site, it is only because they have not yet been reported and removed

Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 11, 2015/01/30) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Thousands of people are telling you that your policy is DANGEROUS
And needs to be changedYour insistence that people are violating this policy is irrelevantBecause it needs to be changed
It doesn't reflect the real world, and you guys have no right to tell people how they should and should not present themselves onlineYou're not the government
From the inception of the internet people have been told to maintain their privacy and to never reveal personal details about themselvesYou, FACEBOOK are doing the complete opposite and making thousands and thousands of people vulnerable simply to use your social networking site that they *** have been utilizing for over a decadeThat's messed up and it's irresponsible
Sounds like you need to educate yourselves on the importance of pseudonymity on the internet
https://www.techdirt.com/articles/XXXXXXXX/XXXXXXXXXXX/whats-name-importance-pse... /> Your repetition and insistence that it's against policy to have a different name means NOTHING to me and thousands of others because we realize it's bull***As people who are educated about internet securityThis policy needs to be changed
It doesn't reflect everyoneSo until you're willing to release a statement about hos Facecbook isn't open to be used by everyone in the general public, you guys need to do something that allows people to protect themselves
You all could EASILY implement an *INTERNAL* name registry system that allows people to verify a real name and use a nickname on the outside
I have sent this suggestion to you guys multiple times and haven't received response
Your lack of willingness to work with the thousands of people affected and upset by this policy only highlights that you do not have the consumer's best interests at heart, and that there is probably some kind of nefarious, money making reasoning behind your insistence to have people use their "authentic names" that you haven't revealed
This is wrong and YOU KNOW IT!!!!
I'm not going to be quiet about it until everyone knows

Hi,
It looks like you are trying to create a Facebook profile for your business
Facebook accounts are designed for people to use their authentic identities to connect and share with each otherUsing a profile to represent someone or
something else doesn't comply with the Facebook Statement of Rights and Responsibilities
If you'd like to use Facebook to represent your business, organization, pet, group or idea, consider creating a Facebook Page
Pages provide an opportunity for musical artists, public figures, businesses and even pets to share information and interact with friends and fansThey're specifically designed to help you communicate with large audiences and capture new audiences through fans' recommendations to their friends
To create a Page, click on the "Create a Page" link under the Sign Up section of www.facebook.com, or visit:
https://www.facebook.com/pages/create

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because: we did not attempt to advertise anything that violates FB policies or terms of service In fact, other organizations have advertised the same things but do not have "gun shop" in their name Your policies are not enforced in a standard manner and your selective enforcement will cause me to begin lobbying my legislators to have FB classified as a public utility that will bring about government regulation just like the use of telephone, Internet, etc your unfair and nonstandard interpretations demonstrate that FB is unable to self-police and therefore the policing for fair use will need to be accomplished by a third party
I specifically asked to speak to a person directly and FB continues to stonewall through faceless and impersonal email communication In fact, during the course of this complaint, ive had a closed group of my organization be unfairly unpublished for a "violation" of FB community standards, but then be republished due to my network and connections that have access to FB staff our group was reinstated, but we did not delete any content, therefore the decision to remove our group was done unjustly Put it this way, I expect a discussion with a live person to learn what we need to do to "conform" to your ever changing and unfair "community standards" so that we can get in compliance and use the service just like any other organization Surely you must remember the Bakery that had a PR nightmare for refusing service to a couple based on their sexual orientation?? Is this the route that you want to take FB, given recent publicity events surrounding the second amendment and right before an election? You must surely not forget that business owners such as myself are the ones that can afford these legal battles?? All I want and expect is for someone that has the power to assist me to resolve this situation, contact me directly at *** for a mature, non-emotional, rational discussion about what needs to occur on our end so that we can enjoy the features of FB just like any other organization, without worry of persecution or discrimination Otherwise, you can expect this claim to be elevated for interpretation by our court system
Sincerely,*** ***

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/07/03) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
First of all, Facebook only partially restored my post ~ they conveniently left off my screenshot of this member making death threats against people on her profileThe only thing FB restored was my comment that she threatens to kill people, they did not restore the photo of her profile which I'd attached showing her threats to kill peopleoSo I have restored the other half of my comment they deleted ~ the screenshot of this woman making death threatsI also want Facebook to allow me to send them screenshots of this same woman threatening directly to kill families that disagree with her political positions on other pagesThese threats were all reported to FB as hate and threatening speech and FB in every single situation deemed them "acceptable." This woman is clearly crazy and Facebook should not allow her to threaten to kill people who disagree with her politics
Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2015/07/06) */
The post that was removed has been restoredIf you have any questions about reporting content that you find objectionable please consult the Help Center: https://www.facebook.com/help/XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX/
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 11, 2015/07/09) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The link they provided does not give me what I have asked for now twiceI want someone in this department to speak with me and review screenshots of this same woman threatening to kill other people around Facebook with whom she disagreesI have reported those threats and, like her original death threat posted to her profile, FB deemed it "not harmful speech." FB's own Terms of Service includes the language "Our review decisions may occasionally change after receiving additional context about specific posts or after seeing new, violating content appearing on a Page or Facebook profile." Then why won't FB look at new additional information on this woman's ongoing threats to kill people with whom she disagrees politically?

Hi ***,
Your account was disabled for violating the Facebook TermsWe've determined that your profile doesn't authentically represent you, which violates our policiesAccording to our policies, your profile:
- Must list your authentic name and date of birth
- Can't impersonate anyone or anything (ex: profiles created to represent celebrities, pets, ideas or inanimate objects)
- May not be used to contact strangers for business or dating purposes
Facebook is a community where people connect and share with friends using their authentic identitiesClaiming to be someone else, creating multiple accounts or falsely representing an organization undermines the trust and safety of the community
We enforce our policies when we encounter violations on the site or receive reports of violationsIf other inauthentic accounts currently exist on the site, it is only because they have not yet been reported and removed
Unfortunately, we will not reactivate your account for any reason
