Review: Requested twice to close acct and refund money in the account. No response from company. They are forcing a confirmation ID which includes a SSN and DOB. This was not required when I joined and I should not be required to hand over this information upon closing or even if I wanted to continue. I chose not to continue use due to these requirements and now my money is being held by FanDuel.Desired Settlement: Close account and refund money I have in the account.

We have recently implemented a new verification process, which asks all FanDuel users to verify their identity by providing various forms of identification. This process is in place to ensure our users are able to participate in a safe and fair environment. However, this user was unwillingly to complete this process, and we have thus gone ahead and allowed them to withdraw their remaining balance as well as closed their account as requested.

Review: I've been playing on the fanduel fantasy football website for about a year and a half. I have deposited monies numerous times. recently they have changed their operation and are asking their players to give their social insurance numbers for verification. I informed them that I was not comfortable to do so. I spoke with the Canadian consumer agency and my lawyer and both told me not to trust this company with my personal information. ive told them that I cannot agree to their new terms and asked for my monies to be returned to my paypal account. they are refusing to return my money (689 usd) unless I comply. again ive never agreed to give these guys this info and I feel like they are trying to extort me. basically either give them my sensitive information and trust them or they steal my money. I have email correspondance which clearly shows this. they have also dealt with a friend of mine who spends alot of money on their site and allowed him to verify his identity without his sin number but his drivers license instead. why the double standard here? I believe the government needs to investigate the practices of this company closelyDesired Settlement: I would like my money returned to my [redacted] account and strongly feel this company needs to be investigated for their practices. this is highly suspect. No one answers their phones, ive emailed 15-20 times and received 4 responses. something is wrong here.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

Sincerely,

Review: My complaint is actually with their tax process as well as their notifications to customers. I played Daily Fantasy sports with this site throughout the 2015 year. I anticipated that I may have had enough winnings to qualify for a 1099 form to file with my taxes. I also new that businesses are legally required to send out these forms by the end of January 2016. We held off on doing our taxes until after this time and actually waited until about the third week of February to ensure there no delays. I did not receive a tax form nor had one available anywhere on the site and was under the impression I had not exceeded the amounts to qualify for the 1099. We had our taxes completed through a tax service and submitted to State and Federal. On March [redacted], 2016, I received an email that my 1099 was now available. This was a month past the legal date. This late form now means I have to pay an additional $75 to amend our taxes for State and Federal. I contacted Fanduel but they were not interested in helping me. I come to find out that they had applied for and received an extension to send out forms late. However, they gave no notice to their customers that the forms would be delayed, nor any indication of the amount that we could expect to claim so we could start our tax process. I confirmed there was no communication or update to their customers of the extension and late forms.Desired Settlement: I was hoping to receive a form of compensation for the $75 fee that I had to spend to amend taxes because of the late tax form and the fact they gave no notices or communications about it. Would also hope they will improve their processes next year to at least offer notification of any delays that may come so that their customers can prepare properly.

Response:

We applied for an extension with the IRS which allowed us to send out all 1099 tax forms by March [redacted].As mentioned by this user, he received the form by the required date, and there was thus no wrongdoing on our end.Further, users are able to calculate an estimate of their net earnings as they have access to their entry and winning history as well as transaction history. The full details regarding the necessity of taxes are detailed on our website in our Terms of Service and FAQs.Ultimately, the filing of earnings are the responsibility of the user, and we are under no obligation to pay tax fees for individuals. That being said, we will not be providing the user with any type of credit.

Review: Fan Duel has several misleading claims on their commercials. First of all is that they will match your deposit, giving the customer the illusion, that they will receive matching funds. This is false, they instead give you a rebate every time you use their product. This is misleading because it leaves the customer thinking if they deposit $200.00 in a fanduel account they will be matched an additional $200.00 to play the game with, this is untrue. I also believe that fanduel's "winners" are fabricated. because the entries are held private until your money has already been paid, and the results of their game are so astronomically impossible, that the entries need to be divulged prior to the contest.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of the value of my time wasted, my initial deposit, & the funds that supposedly were matched by my initial deposit, or a total refund of my initial deposit. Also, I would like the fanduel contest winners investigated to see if they were in fact separate parties from fanduel or propped up figure heads created to lend credibility to the fanduel organization.

Response:

We have offered this user the opportunity to have their initial deposit of $200 fully refunded, with the account being deactivated if the user accepts our offer. Our advertisements promote a deposit bonus match upon sign up. As standard with all daily fantasy sports gaming sites, any bonus received on deposit starts in a "Pending" bonus status. The player will accumulate these bonus funds as they enter paid contests. However, we explicitly describe how pending bonus works on our deposit page and in the deposit page FAQ in which users can decide then if the promotion is right for them. If not, they can simply choose to not deposit. We also flash a deposit success page that offers information regarding pending bonus and its available in our main support FAQ's. The terms of the pending bonus, how it works, its rate of release, etc., are all described to the user before depositing.Additionally, all users on FanDuel are completely legitimate, and all entries that are entered into contests are created by real users. We must keep the entries private until contest lock time in order to ensure a fair balance in competition, and this is the industry standard.

Review: They advertised that if you deposit a certain amount of money up to $200.00 they will double that amount into your account. But once you join the site you find out that they will not put the money into your account they will actually hold the funds into an account they call the bonus fund account that will sit there and you never get to see that money actual go into your account. It sits in this other account so the ad is misleading as Fanduel never intends to match or double your deposit from the promotional code you put in from the ad. `Desired Settlement: Put the money that they say they will match into my account as the ad says. Not into this bonus account.

Sincerely,

Review: Last month I had placed in the top 3 of four of there fantasy passes in the week 16 nfl contests. On there advertising for them I was due to win tickets to 3 nfl games and autographed team memorabilia. When I received my emails confirming I won the prizes changed on 2 of the contests. I asked about it and was informed they were out of tickets and they had the right to change the prize. They changed the 2 prizes to autographed memorabilia which is a drastic drop in prize value.

I received the one pair of tickets that they didn't change. But now it's been almost a month and have yet to receive anything else. I asked when they were to be shipped and they said the following Monday the [redacted] of December.

After waiting I send another email asking about it and they said they hadn't mailed the prizes and that it would happen the next week. I'm sitting on almost a month since winning and after everything I think it's been long enough waiting.

Them changing the prizes AFTER the contests was shady, but now they can't even communicate or ship something in a timely manner.Desired Settlement: I just want what I won, I think them changing the prize was shady enough. Then changing the prize to something was less valuable was worse it they can't even mail anything it seems.

Business

Response:

We can confirm that this user had their prizes packaged and shipped on 1/**/16 and the user has been supplied with a tracking number for these packages. Thus, we consider this matter to be resolved.

Review: I signed on to FanDuel using a promotion along with my in-laws and was enjoying it until suddenly my account was frozen when I began to WIN points. No notice or email. They said they froze it because they believe it to be fraudulent, I emailed my drivers license and my payment method and I'm still locked out.Desired Settlement: design a better business practice for this type of situation restart my account with NO LOSS of activity!

Sincerely,

Review: I live in Nevada. The state of Nevada has recently prohibited FanDuel from operating in this state. Prior to this ruling, I entered many contests on this site, paying hundreds of dollars in entry fees. It seems, since the ruling, FanDuel is simply willfully ignoring anyone in Nevada, as they see us as no longer being potential customers. One of these contests that I entered is a $250,000 survivor contest, paying $25,000 to first place. At the time of the Nevada ruling, I had advanced to round 3 of the contest. I was removed from this contest without any reimbursement or compensation of any kind. FanDuel issued it's own statement that Nevada players would be reimbursed for any canceled entries, but despite several emails, I have received no compensation, nor any response to any of my emails. Also, I had another entry removed from a $10 buy-in tournament the same day, once again with no reimbursement of any kind, and no response to my numerous emails to support.Desired Settlement: A bare minimum of $20 in refunded entries, which given my extreme anguish and countless hours of exhaustively complaining is a very generous settlement on my part.

Sincerely,

Review: Fanduel is a sports gaming site where you wager real money and play other users. Last night I played late games which had 3 games in it. Unfortunately, a fire broke out and canceled the Spurs Timberwolves Game and that left us with 2 games. The problem with this is Fanduel's policy always in the past was that if less than 3 games were played it wasn't considered a legal game and they refund the customer on this issue however they refuse to issue a refund stating that their terms of service say it is at their discretion. Regardless if this is now the stance they take in the past they took the stance that if it was less than 3 games it wasnt considered legal to play. They also never run NBA games on Thursday Night which most of the time only features 2 games. They run games any other night to make money why would they not run them on Thursday night since according to them (now) 2 games are legal. I am very dissapointed with this businesses lack of class and professionalism handling this matter and will not be back. I played $590 last night and I want every penny back of it!Desired Settlement: A full refund

Case #: [redacted]

FanDuel is a daily fantasy sports website in which users can play one-day fantasy sports contests. In 2006, the federal government passed the Unlawful Internet Gaming Enforcement Act. There is a full explanation to the legality easily accessible on our website at [redacted].

Under the law, fantasy sports contests are legal as long as we include at least two real games in a contest. In an instance where one of those two games is canceled or PPD (for weather or unforeseen circumstances) leaving just one game in the contests, FanDuel would cancel all contests as to abide by federal laws.

For this particular issue, we offered a 3-game slate that night. However, an elevator fire broke out in the arena and that game was canceled (in real life). There was some conflicting news reports about the incident and it was unofficial whether or not the game would be delayed or canceled. Since FanDuel still had two remaining games being played, we decided to continue to let all contests run since a two contest slate is still legal. This situation was basically treated by FanDuel the same way an MLB game that is postponed due to weather. Players in those games score 0 points.

While there's no way to research and predict a fire in an arena, FanDuel never offers refunds or credits when players chosen score 0 points. Also, we have rules that guard against games that have these types of issues and had the game been played the next day, we would have held settlement and those players would have score their points. We did everything here within our rules and within the guidelines of the law. As this issue was taking place, there was no official word as to when the game would be made up. Once we knew the game would not be made up the next day (in accordance to our rules), we settled contests.

After reading through the complaint, there is some confusion around our policy. The complaint describes a policy of FanDuel only offering 3 games. However, that this is not an official FanDuel policy. We normally only create contests of 3 games as to distance ourselves from the legal guideline of offering at least 2 games. For baseball in particular, games are postponed due to weather often and so we want to limit occurrences where we have to cancel all contests. The 3-game policy the user describes doesn't exist officially, its just something we do to ensure we're well within the guidelines of the law. This user has been playing with FanDuel for a few years and of course we appreciate that loyalty, but we made the decision to treat all users in our community equally for an issue that wasn't FanDuel's fault.

FanDuel will grant refunds for technical issues caused by our system failing like users having the inability to edit their entries. Since this wasn't a technical error on FanDuel's part and no refunds were offered to any other users over this issue, we do not feel a refund is appropriate in this case. We did try to resolve the issue after the user contacted us through email and fully and sincerely explained the reasoning for our decision not to offer refunds.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is not satisfactory to me and I still think the company is in the wrong but the matter has been resolved.

Sincerely,

In listening to radio adds television adds Fan Duel says they will match your initial payment up to $200 . What they don't tell you is they make you earn the matching funds you deposit . If yo deposit $100 you have invest $2,500 to get your matching funds . No where in any radio or television add is this mentioned even after you sign up ther is no mention it is buried somewhere in some fine print . I realize I should have read fine print . It would not have stopped me from joining but I would not have taken a chance on some of the leagues I entered .

Review: Fan Duel advertises to "match" your initial deposit. However, a customer can not get equal match even if they spend it all. Here, I spent $85.00 of the $100 initially deposited. Fan Duel only give 4% and is in NO WAY matching your initial deposit as advertised. So, I spent $85 dollars but was only credited $7.50. The problem is that Fan Dupe hides this 4% rule in the fine print. I have detrimentally replied on this advertising to join. In other words, I would not have joined if I know their policy.Desired Settlement: This ad campaign should be stopped before millions more get tricked by this slick NY company.

Sincerely,

Review: I signed up to try Fanduel under the assumption of there Money Back Guarantee If you don't like it after your first try they will refund you your money up to $100. I didn't like there platform one bit, So I contacted customer support to refund my money. They respond letting me know that my account will be terminated and if that's ok. I responded no problem. I never herd nothing. Contacted them again and they deleted my account and they asked my mailing address for the check to be mailed to, I replied with my address and never herd or received nothing. It seems like every time you contact them they want you to respond and never do anything. Its a scam, They don't want to payout on there Money Back Guarantee.Desired Settlement: I want them to honor there so called Money Back Guarantee and give me my money back. Simple as that. Don't tell people your going to do something and not deliver.

The deposit matching is 100% false advertising. Their marketing gives everyone who signs up they would be matched on day 1. They give you a few cents at a time. They should not be able to claim they are matching your deposit in their marketing because you would spend thousands before you see that match.

Review: I was entered into a contest on Fanduel that promised 3rd place winners tickets to some NFL football games. I tied with some other contestants, but was just given the prize that the 100th place finished received. Per their rules, we should split the value of the 3rd place prize, yet that did not happen.Desired Settlement: I would like to be compensated for the prize, or portion of the prize I won, in a amount that is consistant with the value that should have been won.

Business

Review: I played fantasy football on fanduel and was promised they would match your initial $25 . I actually played $35 but what they did was put the matching $25 in some other account. What they told me was as long as I continue to play with other money they would release that $25 a little at a time. I was totally deceived and I've contacted them several times to no avail. They didn't do what they promised, so I want my money back.Desired Settlement: I want my $25 back.

They completely shut me off of my gaming, wouldn't answer my emails, didn't return phone call messages. When I filed this complaint they JUMPED to "fix" the problem. However, they refused to refund my money in the same manner that it was deposited (via [redacted]) and they made me very uncomfortable with the whole identity thing. I'm of the opinion that my problem is just the smallest percentage of the overall theft this company is involved in, as most people are probably unwilling to take the time to dig and report the same thing that happened to me......$50.00 or so might not mean that much to put effort into finding out what's really being done by FanDuel.

Review: The radio ad for fan duel states that they will "match your initial deposit 100% up to $200". Which logically means that you deposit $200 in your acct, and they match it. I deposited $200 in my account and they have so far given me $11.52. They claim the rest of my money is in a "pending" status and that I need to keep depositing money and gambling before it is released. The commercial has no disclaimer or anything saying that they really don't match your deposit and that that's a lie. Much like car commercials have "fine print" and pharmaceutical ads have a laundry list of side effects that you may get from using their products. When I contacted fanduel several times I was told that they only have a limited time in commercials, and I basically got the run around. I want the $200 to play with in my account that I as promised in this false advertisement.Desired Settlement: I want my original $200 deposit refunded or I want my "100% match" that I was promised

We are two different people. One Male and the other female. I did send my PA DL Id. I did not want to send my id . If my information,id or picture is shared or compromised in any way shape or form by Fanduel . Fanduel is solely liable and Responsible for it. Now Can I please have my two prize for first and second place in NBA game which I won fairly. I want my prizes.
