Review: I was playing a one day fantasy league! In fantasy football or basketball the site is supposed to offer up to date injury info about the players! In a league I played I selected a player that fanduel had listed as healthy! He was not listed as GTD which means game time decision he was also not listed as out which means not playing! He was listed as healthy and available! After I wrote fanduel and told them this misleading info cost me a tournament and around 400 dollars in winnings they told me I should use other sites for info! I don't get it they are a fantasy gaming site and if I am correct they should offer up to date injury info! There were also other complaints about them but I will leave that to another date!Desired Settlement: At the least I want a refund for the three tournaments I put Wiggins in totaling 15 dollars!!!! Because if I was told he wasn't playing the next guy in line I could have picked with his numbers I could have won around 400 dollars in the tournament! I think fanduel withholds info for profit purposes!!!

Response:

We feel that we have done everything we can to give this user a satisfactory result, which includes offering them a $15 credit in FanDuel Points on the entries that were impacted by this player being inactive. This user rejected this offer, and there is nothing further we can do on our end. We try to ensure that all players with significant injuries are designated as injured in our player pool to alert our users. However, especially in the NBA, there are many cases where a player will be a late scratch due to illness or a very minor injury, and there is little chance that we'll have an indicator up in time for that contest. In this case, Andrew Wiggins wasn't announced out until 7:30 PM ET, which was after contests began and lineups locked. Prior to lineups locking, the news on our site (and outside sources) was up to date and correct. That said, a large part of what makes FanDuel legal and qualifies us as a game of skill is the research involved in selecting your team. While FanDuel offers the platform in which users can play daily fantasy sports, we leave it up to the user to do the research and choose the players they think will give them the best chance of winning. When users have real money on the line on a nightly basis, we're confident its best for them to have full control over the players they choose.

The initial deposit of $100 made by this user on 10/*/15 has been fully refunded as requested here and the FanDuel account has been permanently deactivated. Our advertisements promote a deposit bonus match upon sign up. As standard with all daily fantasy sports gaming sites, any bonus received on deposit starts in a "Pending" bonus status. The player will accumulate these bonus funds as they enter paid contests. However, we explicitly describe how pending bonus works on our deposit page and in the deposit page FAQ in which users can decide then if the promotion is right for them. If not, they can simply choose to not deposit. We also flash a deposit success page that offers information regarding pending bonus and its available in our main support FAQ's. The terms of the pending bonus, how it works, its rate of release, etc., are all described to the user before depositing.

Review: On December [redacted] I registered to play with FanDuel and paid $10 to join a friend's league. Within 24 hours my account was suspended and I was unable to login. When I contacted customer support I was told that the account was suspended for "Inconsistent activities."

On December [redacted] I was asked to provide the credit card that I paid my FanDuel league account with, along with photo identification to the customer support email. I provided both of these via email. I received a follow up email stating that there was a mismatch of information. I was then provided a link and was asked to provide photos of my drivers license again, both front and back, and a personal photograph. Again I provided this information.

On December [redacted] my account was unlocked and I was promised a refund for the FanDuel games that I was unable to participate in because my account was suspended. When I logged in and looked at my account there was no refund. Additionally, because my boyfriend got involved later in the process, customer support promised my boyfriend FanDuel points. He never received FanDuel points, nor did I receive a refund.

When I went on my account the customer support team had attempted to remove money from the account.

When I emailed the customer support team they were adamant that they gave me a credit.

The next week I again paid my $10 to play a game. This week I won $27.

I again emailed the FanDuel customer support team and requested my $10 credit from the Week 13 account suspension as I was unable to login and participate. Customer support went into my account and removed $10, and went on to tell me that I was free to take my business elsewhere.

I requested to speak to a supervisor and Zack, the customer support representative I was speaking with stated he was a supervisor of the team and would not disclose the name of a supervisor.

I was never given a refund. My boyfriend was never given his promised FanDuel points, and FanDuel ended up taking my earning from me. Finally, FanDual told me to take my business elsewhere when I complained. Very poor customer service. Again,Desired Settlement: I would like $20 credited back to my account.

1) $10 for the winnings that were taken from me in week 14,

and 2)$10 credited for week 13 which I was unable to participate in because FanDuel suspended my account and after 24 hours and required 5 forms of ID before opening my account.

Response:

This users account was suspended on December [redacted] due to some activity the system deemed inconsistent. We were then contacted by the user later that day, and asked them to provide us with some account information in order to get them back up and running. Unfortunately, the system that we use to verify accounts initially could not verify the account based on the information being provided, which is why we left it suspended. The user would ultimately be able to verify their account, which we then re-opened for full use. After some back and forth, we decided that it was best to part ways with the user, and suggested they withdraw their remaining balance, which they did. This withdrawal allowed the user to leave the site with $17 in winnings, which was in addition to the two deposits that we refunded back to the users credit card.

Review: Do to recent gaming in Nevada we are no longer allowed to participate in online fantasy sports for money.

I had a $25 entry locked by Fanduel for the October [redacted] games. I wasn't allowed to cancel the entry. Initially they showed me at -$25 then adjusted it to zero but I never received my money back from this entry: [redacted] although I was allowed to withdrawl the rest of my balance,Desired Settlement: Would just like the $25 refund from the entry that I wasn't allowed to play.

Business

Response:

We were able to find the entry this user is referring to, which was credited to their account for free as part of a promotion we were running. However, this user now lives in an ineligible state, which means they are not able to compete in any contests on FanDuel. Thus, while this is certainly an unfortunate situation, we had to cancel this free entry for the user and will not be providing any refund for this entry, as no funds were removed from their account to pay for the entry.

Review: This company is under investigation by The New York attorney general over the alleged misuse of inside information in the daily fantasy sports industry has now caught the eye of state regulators. FanDuel also faces a class action lawsuit alleging that employees used insider information to win large sums of money. In learning this news I immediately stopped participating in the website. I have tried to contact them via the phone and email numerous amounts of times, but only received a blanket statement from them. They have published a money back guarantee on all of their commercials. Please help me. Thanks,Desired Settlement: I would like my full $200 refunded. Not just $59.28

Review: They advertised if I put in 25 dollars they would match it. I spent the 25 plus another 35 dollars and they still will not match it. I contacted them and they said I need to spend more money. this is not what their ad said on the internet. it said you must use all of your money you deposited and then you could have the match.Desired Settlement: I want my pending balanced released.

Review: I signed up for and deposited $55 on Fanduel to play fantasy football games. On October *, I became aware that they allow employees who have direct access to inside information to participate in these games. That renders these games unfair and therefore I want my $55 refunded to me immediatelyDesired Settlement: Refund of $55 immediately

Review: I played fan duel since October and lost a lot of money. I played the last month won and lost and they accused me of fixing contest. Like who got time for all that they would not send me my winning and closed my account. they had no proof that I fixed contest then I reached out and they didn't respond. Then they advised me that they was not gone send me my wining of over 2K but instead refund my card. All of sudden I'm fixing contest like I only had one account never did nothing fraudulent just a young honest man. they requested a copy of my ID and card I used just to tell me that I was being fraudulent so why did you need a copy of my information when you knew that you was gone close my account. I feel that this has cause emotional stress. People don't gamble for funDesired Settlement: I want all my deposits refunded I want my account reinstated I want y fan duel bonus points I want my winning and I want a formal apology for falsely accusing me of something I didn't do.

Business

Response:

This customer has been suspended from FanDuel by our accounts team after fraudulent activity was detected through this his account. Funds were deposited into the users FanDuel account in which chargebacks were later submitted by the customer to fraudulently receive lost funds through his bank/credit card provider. This is a clear violation of our terms of use and this customer, along with other associated customers, have been permanently banned from FanDuel.

Review: Company advertised a 60 percent match in deposit. Failed to honor offer.Desired Settlement: I would like them to honor their offer, and then include disclaimer on all their commercials.

Case # [redacted] received a $60 deposit bonus in their pending bonus account upon their first deposit of $100 as advertised. Our advertisements promote a deposit bonus match upon sign up. As standard with all daily fantasy sports gaming sites, any bonus received on deposit starts in a "Pending" bonus status. The player will accumulate these bonus funds as they enter paid contests. Review: Fanduel.com was recently served with a cease and desist letter from the NYS attorney general for being an illegal gambling site. I was misled into thinking this is a legal site. Also, when first registering, I was misled by their deceptive television advertisements that boast that they will match your deposit. This was untrue. They only match 4% of it, as I later learned (and you are required to risk it all in order to even get that 4%). They do not mention any of this on their television advertisements. Because of these unfair practices, I submitted a request for withdrawal of my current account funds (which were less than my initially deposited funds). This got rejected with them saying I must first [illegally] gamble all of the money and only then they would be willing to allow me to withdraw my own money. This is contrary to the "instant cash payouts" they promise in their advertisements and website. This is unacceptable and I fully expect to receive a withdrawal of my own money.Desired Settlement: I would like Fanduel to refund my account funds, either to the original payment method (Paypal) or as a check. I would also like for Fanduel to stop with the deceptive advertisement regarding the deposit matching, so that others don't get misled as well. Finally, I would like Fanduel to either make it clear in their advertisements that you will need to risk losing all your money before you can withdraw it.

Consumer

Response:

The business has responded to me in reference to complaint ID [redacted]. They have refunded my initial deposit. I am satisfied with this resolution for myself. I still suggest that they make it clearer in their advertising that in order to withdraw your money, you must first risk it all in the gamble. I would also suggest that they make it clearer in their advertising that in order to receive matching for your initial deposit, you must risk the full value of the money 25 times by entering it into games. I suspect I may not have been the only one misled by these advertisements, as a simple [redacted] search would make apparent. That being said, I am ok with resolving this complaint, even with no further action by the business, as I believe the NYS attorney general will get some changes to occur in the deceptive practices of this business, as part of his current legal actions initiated against them.
