Review: I have a collections of $334 when I have not received notice of any account open, nor have I ever opened an account.

Ive looked on my credit score and saw I had an account in collections with [redacted], But Ive never received any notification of said account. So I don't understand why I have an account in collections when no such account excises.Desired Settlement: I would like removal of this made up account off of my credit score.

Review: I returned a DVD that was not ordered over two months ago and still no refund. Then the company charged me again for a DVD I didn't order.

My account number at Columbia House DVD is [redacted]. I was charged $32.95 for a DVD that I did not order. The name of the DVD is "Hannibal Season 1" and the Selection Number is [redacted]. I returned the DVD over two months ago and still have not received a refund. Wednesday the company charged my account $32.95 again and I have not ordered any merchandise. The now owe me $65.90 and I am very unhappy. I have tried to call the company at ###-###-#### three days in a row at multiple times. I have not received an answer any time call. I get a voicemail that offers nine choices. When I hot 9 for "other" it puts me on hold. After that it is a waiting game that never ends. I stayed on the line over 45 minutes listening to loud music and never received an answer so I hung up. I have done this a total of eight times. I am very angry that nobody will answer to discuss anything about this matter.Desired Settlement: I want my $65.90 back immediately!

Review: My acct was complete, I requested it be closed, I rec'd an email thanking me,yet they haven't closed my account and still send me emails.

I requested my account be closed in August, yet they sent me a DVD I did not approve later that month. I returned it unopened as they advised and still have not recd' my refund of the cost. They also have not closed my account as requested. I've now requested it be closed 6 times, and they still have not complied. They agree that the terms of my aggreement have been met and that I can cancel my account. They still have not done this. This month (October) I have already received 2 emails offering me DVD's on my account - it's only the 3rd of the month and 2 emails already - for an account that should have been closed 2 months ago! I've repeatedly asked that they cancel my account, and cease the automatic emails as I am no longer a listed account holder, yet they still have not done so.Desired Settlement: I want them to immediately close my account as requested, refund the cost of the last shipment returned to them and stop the harrassing emails regarding an account that should be closed as requested.

Review: Long overdue shipment of DVD, no response from company

I placed an order on 07/30 for 3 DVD's. I have not received them and even tho I have sent several notices to the company they have not responded at all. This is the 2nd time since June they have neglected to ship an order and neglected to respond to my inquiries. There is absolutely no reason for this long delay in honoring my order, they are breaking their own commitment to timely delivery as stated on their own website. Below I have pasted the details of my order and messages I have sent. I am so fed up I told them to cancel my membership. I am contacting you so you can make them aware their service is receiving a complaint and they need to straighten up!

1)It has been a month since I placed this order, what is the hold up with shipping the dvd's? I believe this long without a shipment is ridiculous!!!!! If you are having a delay in shipping me my order, it would be appreciated if you let me know what is going on instead of leaving me waiting, waiting, waiting, and waiting some more. Kindly ship my order ASAP!!!!!

2)Today is 09/10/14 and you have still not replied to my inquiries as to the whereabouts of my order and have not shipped this order. I am done putting up with this foolishness - CANCEL MY ACCOUNT!!!! I have all my messages sent to you about this order and will forward them to the Revdex.com and advise of your non response, lack of proper service and honoring your commitment to ship orders as stated on your website. Your company has shown some of the worst customer service around, VERY DISAPPOINTED IN YOU!!

Your order confirmation is below. Thank you again for your business.

Review: To Whom May Concerned:Let me begin by telling my experience with these two companies, Columbia House and [redacted]. Few years ago, I was on the internet minding my own business and all of a sudden a message appeared on the screen asking me to participating in a short survey. The pop up said that if I participated in the survey, I would receive a free DVD. Well, I participated and a few days later I received in the mail my free DVD. Then right after that they started sending more DVDs. At that point I got suspicious and since I was not interested in watching old movies I never opened those DVDs, so I returned them to the post office. Then Columbia House started mailing me invoices and, of course, I refused to pay them. In 2011 Columbia House in conjunction with its partner [redacted] put me on collection, which was kind of weird because I never provided my private information to them but somehow they obtained it. At that time, I contacted the Revdex.com to file a complaint against Columbia House and Columbia House, DVD.I forwarded a copy of that complaint to Colombia House. They contacted me and apologized for the inconvenience they caused me. And stated that they would work with [redacted] to remove the negative item from my credit report, and they did it. (Please see email transcript attached)That was January 2011, but they waited three years and recently added back to my credit report the same negative item from 2011. They put a judgment against my credit demanding money from their SCAM. Because of their unspeakable action, I was denied credit on a mortgage. Nevertheless, I have over 25 years of a perfect credit score and have never been late on a payment in my life. Desperate to clear my good name, I paid $86.17 to [redacted], a collection agency working on behalf of [redacted] to collect funds from their scam. (Please see document attached)I appreciate your cooperation in this matter,Sincerely, SCAM VICTIMPlease Help!Desired Settlement: At this time, I am requesting a refund, If they reimburse me the money I paid and never hear from them again, I will not proceed with a settlement. Thank you,

Review: After checking my credit I came to realize that Colombia House states I owe $35 for something I never purchased. I am outraged, my credit is affected.

I checked my credit score because I am looking to purchase a vehicle. I came to realize that I have a derogatory issue on my credit report. Apparently Columbia House Dvd had sent me to collections in 12/2010 for $35. I have no recollection of ever purchasing anything from them.Desired Settlement: I want this to be removed from my credit report.

COLUMBIA HOUSE DVD CLUB Account # [redacted]

[redacted]

[redacted]

Dear [redacted]:

I am

responding to the inquiry your office forwarded for [redacted].

On review, our records indicate

that a COLUMBIA HOUSE DVD CLUB account was opened in [redacted]’s name on

November 24, 2006.

On March 27, 2008, we shipped a selection

to the address on the account [[redacted], FL [redacted]] and applied

$25.94 to the DVD Club account for the shipment. When the balance remained unpaid, we added

three late charges, at $3.00 each, in accordance with our delinquent payment

policies. This brought the total unpaid

balance to $34.94.

When the debt of $34.94 remained

unpaid, we placed the account in collections. We subsequently sold the account

to [redacted] ([redacted]).

Though we are not the creditor

of record, as a courtesy we have contacted [redacted] on [redacted]’s behalf. We have

requested that [redacted] close their file and remove any information regarding this

DVD Club account from [redacted]’s credit report.

On September 17, 2014, we received confirmation from [redacted] that they

have taken these steps.

Review: I was found a listing on my credit report from [redacted] for 190 dollars for the original creditor “pay”. When I contacted [redacted] they said it was for Columbia House from 2007 despite them showing the account was opened in DEC 2012 on my credit report. I never had done any business with Columbia House or BGM music. After Further research I found out that Columbia House/BGM does not even ask for one’s SSN or DOB and has been sued in a class action for alleged business practices of unauthorized credit card charges, inability to cancel, unwanted products being mailed to homes and several other alleged issues. This really seems like someone figured since I have good credit they will just slap it on my report and I will pay it. I am kindly requesting the account be removed from my credit report if Columbia House/BGM or [redacted] does not provide me with

•Signed credit application between myself and the original creditor

• Copies of all signed vouchers from the date account was opened until default

• Copies of all statements from the date account opened until default

• Proof of the statute of limitations

• Proof of agreement that you were hired by the Original creditor (creditor as defined by the FDCPA) or

• A copy of the contract Debt Collection Company Name purchased the alleged debt.

• If the alleged debt was purchased, provide a copy of an agreement between Debt Collection Company Name and myself, signed by me, stating that I have a contractual responsibility to Debt Collection Company Name for the alleged debt

If Columbia House/BGM or [redacted] fails to comply with this request I will resort to legal action.Desired Settlement: Trade line removed

Review: I was turned over to collections by [redacted] in regards to this company in 2010 for $118. I never had an account with Columbia House.

When checking my credit in July, I noticed I had an account with this company turned over to collections by [redacted] in 2010 for $118. I never had an account with Columbia DVD! They cannot provide me with any proof that I had an account other than they have my name and address - which anyone can get from a database. I have never received product from Columbia House and/or any of their affiliated partners. I filed a dispute with the credit bureaus but [redacted] refused to remove the account from my history. This is a bogus account and I do not know how they got my info and put it on my credit but I am buying a house and this needs to be removed immediately!Desired Settlement: I am asking that Columbia House request that [redacted] remove this collection from their records and from my report immediately as it is invalid. If not, I can get legal aid at my place of employment as I work for the state and at no cost to me; I will ask for treble damages as this is not a legitimate account and neither the collection company or Columbia House can give detailed information in regards to this account.

Review: Sent account that I never opened to a collection agency.

I never opened an account with Columbia House DVD. There is a charge from a collection agency on my credit report from 2010. I called them 6 months ago and they assured me that the issue would be resolved and also told me that they had no record or proof of any kind that I ever opened an account. They maintain that the account has been sold to a collection agency and therefore they can't do anything about it. Both the company and the collection agency are nearly impossible to reach.Desired Settlement: Removal of all charges and records from their systems as well as fixing my credit report with the collection agency.

Review: They sent me a movie I declined online. Money took from credit card on file. Returned same day.

I received movie([redacted] MOVIE)about 7/16/14,that I declined 2 weeks earlier online, sent back same day. The money was taken from credit card on file, which I haven't used in several years. I sent them several emails, that took several weeks for replies. I told them to send me my refund and cancel my account. The last reply back said they couldn't credit my card used, saying it has expired. Card doesn't expire until 5/2016. They won't cancel my account! I get emails almost daily for movie deals. My last email to them, I told them that have lived in the same place over 13 years, send me a check. I'm 60 years old, disabled vet, living on Social Security. $25.95 is not a lot, but try living on SSI. Account #[redacted]. All phone #'s listed are bogus.Desired Settlement: I would be very happy to just get my $25.95 back. To get greedy, I would like the $3.50 it cost me to ship it back. To get even greedier, the credit card ending in [redacted], was put over the limit with their charge. That would've been a $39 charge to my account, which I caught in time. We won't even talk about pain & suffering. They didn't have any problems collecting their money, so why should I? The company has been around since 1950.

Review: I know Direct Brands goes under other names. The one that contacted me by email was columbia house dvd club On November 11th at 4:14 PM. The email stated: "You're receiving this email as part of your paperless membership. Respond to your Director's Selection by 11/26. If you do not, it will be shipped to you and you will be billed the regular Club price." I have never signed up for this company ever. So I do not know how they will send me anything. Please have them cancel whatever membership they have under me. They do have a membership number connected to my email. Perhaps the email I received was for phishing purposes. I decide to do the Revdex.com complaint due to the fact they have a membership number tied to my email. No where on the email do they use my name or anything.Desired Settlement: I want them to cancel whatever account they have, because I did not open it or create it. Review: I got a mail from a collection agency regarding Columbia House that I owe them money for an item I purchased, but this is false.

I am not sure when I originally signed up for Columbia House DVD around 2007 would be my guess. I got 3 DVD for 0.99 cents, and then I never received a DVD nor was I interested in them, couple of years later, [redacted] asked me pay debt of which I was not aware of from Columbia House DVD sign up back in 2007, and if I wont pay it will go into my credit, so I paid it off and did not want any hassle, and assumed that I will never have to deal with them again, and now on Sept 2013, I received mail from [redacted] saying that I owe money to Columbia House and which is now purchased by them, but I have already settled this account with [redacted] years ago, and the situation is not going away. Address they provided in the mail is an old one and I no longer live there.Desired Settlement: I would like for Columbia House or anyone pertaining to relations with the account I had with them to not contact me ever again. Review: I requested to cancel my membership in the trial period, but didn't receive proper response. I got the bill for my membership duty.

On Jun 11, 2011 I joined Columbia House DVD club (CHDC) as a trial membership. My customer account number is [redacted]. As the opening bonus, I bought three DVDs at very low price as the enrollment package.

On Jun 27,2011, after 16 days I joined, I decided to cancel my membership. The membership contract says one has 30-day trial period, if he/she quit within this period, the enrollment package should be returned by CHDC's cost. Therefore, I emailed CHDC to cancel my membership and waited for the prepaid shipping label from them. CHDC agreed my requirement. However, I haven't received any shipping label to complete my cancellation process. I emailed them multiple times later, always got the reply that they would send me the shipping label soon, but it never arrived.

As a member of CHDC, if one keeps his membership, according to the agreement, he/she is required to buy one set of DVD selections every three(?) months for total four times. Each selection costs $27.33.Since I din't receive the shipping label to send back the enrollment package (I kept requesting it though),CHDC assumed my membership duty effective, and I received a FINAL notice for the past due balance of $112.32 on Jan 10, 2013.

I don't agree with this past due balance. I requested to cancel my membership during the trial period. Due to the improper response of CHDC to my cancellation request, I couldn't finish the cancellation process and got this bill which is unfair for me. Therefore, I request the judgement and settlement from Revdex.com. I have the copy of all the email communication and can provide them if needed.Desired Settlement: I am seeking the settlement below:

1. I return the enrollment package (3 DVDs) to Columbia House DVD club with the prepaid shipping label provided by them.

2.Columbia House DVD club cancel my bill of $112.32 (statement date Jan 10, 2013).

Dear [redacted]:

I am responding to the inquiry your office forwarded for [redacted].

On review, our records show that [redacted] enrolled in COLUMBIA HOUSE DVD CLUB via our website on January 8, 2012.

During the online enrollment process, consumers are directed to read and agree to the terms of membership. We do not process an enrollment unless the consumer has checked the box indicating that she/he has read and agreed to these terms, which included an explanation of the Club purchase commitment. In [redacted]’s case, the purchase commitment associated with her DVD Club membership was to buy two DVDs at regular Club price within one year from the date of enrollment.

On January 8, 2012, an enrollment order for four DVDs was shipped to [redacted]. The charge of $18.28 was applied to a MasterCard provided at the time of enrollment.

On November 25, 2012, we sent an email to [redacted] at the email address provided ([redacted]) stating that: your membership term will soon expire and we noticed that you still need to buy two DVDs to complete your purchase obligation. If you don’t fulfill your purchase obligation, you will be billed for two DVDs at an average Club price (including shipping & processing and any applicable sales tax).

When the purchase commitment was not completed by January 9, 2013, we attempted to apply a Due-On-Contract charge of $54.60 to the MasterCard on file. This charge represents the cost of two DVDs needed to complete the purchase commitment, plus shipping and processing charges and tax. Since the charge of $54.60 was declined by MasterCard, we billed this amount to [redacted]s DVD account.

As an accommodation, we have removed the charge of $54.60. [redacted]’s account is closed with a zero balance. She may disregard any additional Club notices that she receives.

We trust this resolves [redacted]’s concerns. You may contact [redacted] in our Executive Customer Relations Office at [redacted]with any questions. You may also send an e-mail to [redacted]

Sincerely,

Consumer

Review: Columbia House charged my credit card for a unordered DVD they claim to have shipped to me.

On Oct. 22nd, Columbia House made an unauthorized charge to my credit card in the amount of $25.94 for a "Director's Selection" DVD. As per their membership agreement, in the past, they'd send me an email allowing me an opportunity to decline their automatic DVD shipments but on this occasion, an email notice was never sent.

On Nov. 13, 2013, at 4:45 CST, I phoned their contact center to inquire about the charge. After a 12 minute hold, I spoke with an agent named [redacted]. She acknowleged that the DVD they shipped had never been delivered. When I expressed concern that I had never received an email allowing me to decline this particular shipment, she stated they'd been merging syste** and were having difficulties with email notifications.

I requested that my membership in their service be cancelled during our conversation, but the agent did not credit my card for the unauthorized charge.Desired Settlement: I expect a refund issued to my credit card in the amount of $25.94 for the unordered/undelivered shipment.

I am also requesting that Columbia House remove my information from their marketing list.

Review: Refused to provide proof of ownership (which we never had so they can't provide) and continually sell this fake account to other companies

I have already had this account removed several times from my credit report Columbia House refuses to provide me any information. The account was not mine and was never mine. They keep selling this bogus account to other collection agencies in an effort to try to get me to send them money. This happens every 1-2 years and has to stop.Desired Settlement: I want to be removed from their system and NEVER contacted again and no more bogus derogatory info placed on my credit.

Review: I am in the process of refinancing my house. I discovered throught the company prepairing my new mortgage, that a negitive mark was recently reported

on my credit report. I ALWAYS pay ALL of my bills on time and have never had an account with columbia house. I tried to call the customer service department to resolve this issue. When I asked for the billing department I was informed very rudly that there is no billing department. I asked to speak with a manager. I was connected with another rude person. I informed her of the situation and asked how to go about having this removed from my credit report. She informed me that an account was opened in my name 10 years ago, and was turned in to a debt collector 6 years ago. I have never had an account with columbia house. I did have several teenages living in the home 10 years ago. I have no idea if one of them may have ordered cds in my name. But, I do know without a doubt, that I have NEVER in 10 years received any correspondence from columbia house...nothing asking for payment, nothing from a credit referral company NOTHING!!!!! They refuse to remove this from my credit report!!Desired Settlement: I want this derogitory mark removed from my credit!!!!!!!

Review: I have fulfilled my membership with columbia house and wish to end my membership.

in the beginning of the summer 2014, I called columbia house to decline my monthly director selection, I also told them that I wish to cancel my membership at this time for financial reasons . The women on the phone said she would cancel and I might get a couple more ( monthly director selections) in mail, because it was already sent in mail, I did receive 1 and declined, I received another declined it,thought that was the end ,, wrong, received another and called them, ask if I was canceled , she assured me I was.. well to make a long story short they keep sending me movies and more director selections , I called my credit card company and they looked into and put a stop on my account, I also emailed them telling them that I canceled my membership and they no longer to charge my account.. they emailed me back,,( I have a copy of email) that they would cancel , well that was September and they are still sending me director selections and movies, This is just a vicious circle and I cant afford to keep doing this , I want this to end. I just receieved another movie in the mail, this is ridiculous, I am mailing back the movie with the new directors selection marked cancel on it.. Can someone tell me what to do!Desired Settlement: I just want this stuff to stop,, I have fulfilled my membership with Columbia house , I No longer wish, nor afford the movies,,

Review: I received a bill for $191.58 Which $6 is for late fees. There were 7 DVDs that were delivered to an address I moved from over a year ago (which I put in for a change of address before I moved). It states on the bill that the movies started being delivered December of 2013 and I moved out of the old place in June 2013. I moved out of my old address over a year ago and I just now got a bill for the DVDs. Why is it i'm getting billed for DVDs 7 months after I move and why didn't I get DVDs for the 6 months before that?? I called and the Rep that I talked to said that I had to pay the bill and they couldn't do anything. I then talked to a supervisor who told me I needed to contact the post office and see if they were delivered or not. So I contacted the post office and the carrier said she didn't remember delivering them to that address and knew that I had moved. So I then called back and a new supervisor said I needed to file claims with the post office and then they would take care of it. I filed the claims with the post office and I called Columbia House back and the rep (Michelle) told me that they did their part and the movies were delivered. She got a supervisor on the phone (Brian) and he told me there was nothing they could do because they DVDs were delivered to an address. I told Brian that they could keep sending me bills that I wasn't paying $200 for movies that I didn't receive. He said sorry you feel that way ma'ma but there isn't anything we can do.
