(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
ForSaleByOwner is not providing quality service for what us supposed to be includedMore than one linked service wasn't functional at any point and we never received the sign kit even though my account said it shipped and customer service said they were behind in processing ordersAll in all, as I noted in my initial request this service is misleading and they set service expectations they can't uphold
If ForSaleByOwner does not refund the full amount paid for their "services" I will be filing against them in the court system
Final Consumer Response /* (3000, 17, 2015/08/03) */

Hello, We have reviewed your account and since your listing had been assigned out to a broker to begin the listing process, we are unable to provide a full refund. The brokers that assist in listing homes onto the MLS forego their traditional commission and work for a Flat Fee. As a result, we have...

a cancellation fee that applies if you cancel before your listing is posted to the MLS or appears on Realtor.com, up to 30 days after purchase date. Anytime a property is listed on the MLS, there will always need to be a commission offered to the buyer’s agent, as this is an MLS requirement and can’t be waived. If you were to have sold your home via the By Owner process, you would have saved on the seller’s commission and still paid considerably less than selling via a traditional agent. The refund information regarding the MLS can be found in Section 15, subsection D of the ForSaleByOwner.com’s Terms and Conditions. Sincerely, ForSaleByOwner.com

For Sell by Owner is a great site for those who like me would share the cost of a commission with the buyer. For example the saving could paint the house the color s they would like, rather than the sellers favorite, or carpet.....(3% of $150,000 is $4,500).

The offer lots of value of the money or even no money.

Additional information is required to research the customer's concern. We do verify property ownership, if the seller of the property is listing through the [redacted]. However, we can't restrict a customer from trying to sell their home that may be in an active foreclosure, as the owner may be trying to...

sell in order to avoid the foreclosure. If you would like to respond back with the address of the property you were trying to purchase, we can verify additional information to ensure our back-end system is working properly to verify ownership of the property being listed for sale.Sincerely,ForSaleByOwner.com

Hello,We would like to apologize for the delay you have experienced. We have verified with our internal broker team that they have contacted you and you are now listed on your local [redacted] as of July 23rd. Good Morning,
In response to this consumer's complaint we have moved forward with a refund for the service that was not provided. The consumer was never listed on the [redacted] thus this service will be refunded to the consumer.
Thank...

you.

Hello,Thank you for reaching out to us and taking advantage of our Home Selling Guarantee. Due to the time that has passed since the original purchase of the MLS Product, we could not credit the amount back to your credit card. However, we do apologize for the time it has taken to process the...

refund request and we show that a check was mailed to you on November 18th. We have verified with our Accounting Unit that the check has not been cashed and have asked that a stop payment be placed on it and a new check be re-issued. Our Accounting Unit has told us that a replacement check will be ready to be sent on Monday Dec 12th and they will overnight the check to you. If this is not received, please do contact us as soon as possible, so we may follow-up on the status.Sincerely,ForSaleByOwner.com

We reached out to [redacted] and left a voicemail letting her know that we have refunded her account $100 for the inconvenience. Also relayed that leads sent to her listing on [redacted] or [redacted].com are forwarded by the listing agent to her. She does not owe the listing agent any commission at...

close. What ever amount that was agreed to offer to a buyers agent when she set up the [redacted].com account is the only commission offered to anyone.

Selling your house is a difficult challenge to begin with but when you work with ForSaleByOwner.com, it becomes a nightmare. You think you're saving money by listing the house for sale on your own but once you opt for the more expensive package to have your house listed on the MLS, you get hit with a percentage fee upon the selling of your house. When we first signed up, it was .25%, after almost two weeks of going back and forth on paperwork to get the house listed on the MLS, they raised the rate to .50%. We argued the fact that we signed up when it was .25% and luckily they honored it. That doesn't mean I like the company. Their "Live Support" is anything but that. Half of the time, you're forced to leave a message where no one will call you back. The other times, you're left speaking with someone who can't help you and will refer your call. You are "assigned" an MLS broker to assist you; however, your given a generic email address with random people answering. They only allow two "free" changes to the MLS, which includes adding Open Houses. So if I have three or more changes to my MLS, including scheduling Open Houses, I'll have to pay $25 each time. This list of complaints go on.

Since I've pulled my hair out for the past 2 weeks with this company, I'm going to stick it out for a little while and get my money's worth. For anyone considering to go with this company, DON'T. Save yourself the hassle and go with a realtor.

We processed a refund request on 11.10.15. Customer should be receiving a refund check within the next 2 weeks. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2015/09/14) */
We have attempted to contact Mr. [redacted] at both contact numbers available on his Listing and left messages for him. He was refunded $50.00 for his signs not arriving, and for the inconvenience of having to purchase a sign. They cost...

about $17.00 at Home Depot. All though we cannot guarantee his listing will show on 3rd party sites, we provided a solution for him to be able to directly post his property on[redacted] His home is showing on MLS to public sites such as Realtor.com, and has been listed since August 17th. Examples of his listing currently listed as of today are below... He does not merit a refund of the MLS portion of the Listing.

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 8, 2015/09/24) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The listing on Realtor.com required only the Deluxe Package which cost $349. We wanted to be listed on[redacted]com also and decided that it was worth paying an extra $300 to make this happen. For this reason, we purchased the Enhanced Package for $649, which was supposed to include listing on[redacted]com in addition to Realtor.com. However, even though we have paid the extra $300, our property is not listed on[redacted]com. FSBO argues that[redacted]com is not available in all areas, but there are more than 100 other houses in our town listed on[redacted]com.

The solution offered by FSB0 to create a listing on[redacted]com is to use a different service,[redacted], which will list our property on[redacted]com for free. We chose to use FSBO, and paid them $649, so that we could have a single interface which would allow updates to listings at both [redacted] We do not wish to use[redacted] and it is absurd that FSBO should charge us an extra $300 to be listed on[redacted]com and then tell us to use another company's website to make it happen.

If ForSaleByOwner.com cannot guarantee listings will show on 3rd party sites, then their website shouldn't lead users to believe they can. It's false advertising. We have been duped by FSBO and would like the $300 refunded that is the difference between the Deluxe Package and the Enhanced Package.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 10, 2015/09/25) */
We understand the customer's issue regarding wanting to be on[redacted] We value the customer's opinion and apologize for the handling by our support staff.[redacted]is not available in all areas, so we are subject to the constraints of[redacted] However, offering a solution to our customers in letting them use a service called[redacted] is an option. In this case, we are having the customer's listing entered using[redacted]. We would anticipate that the customer's listing will show on[redacted]prior to end of day Monday.
Also, one thing to note, the $300 extra charge is not specifically for a customer's listing to show on[redacted] It is for having the listing entered via their local MLS. This requires the service of a licensed professional. It is through the MLS that we are also able to list most customers on[redacted]
Final Consumer Response /* (2000, 12, 2015/10/05) */
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
We accept the proposed resolution because our property is now showing on[redacted]com, so FSBO has fulfilled the commitment they advertised for the Enhanced package.
It should be noted that postlets.com is a free service for owners of single family homes. So accepting money and offering the option of "letting us use it" is like accepting money and "letting us" use[redacted] List.
It should also be noted that prior to contacting the Revdex.com, ForSaleByOwner.com customer support was rude and unresponsive on multiple occasions. We appreciate the efforts of Revdex.com in resolving this matter.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 7, 2015/10/20) */
We appreciate the feedback that Mr. [redacted] has given and apologize for the lack of customer service. We did have an issue with yard signs this summer but this has since been rectified. Also, while his home was listed on our site, and numerous...

others, the point of getting on the MLS near him is so that his home is exposed to a wider audience. In addition, the only way that anyone can have their home listed on the MLS is from a licensed broker/agent. We have contracted with outside firms to have seller's homes listed on their local MLS, but that is all they are required to do. It is not their responsibility to take photos, that is the role of a full service agent, of which ForSaleByOwner's program is not.
In addition, we have since issued a refund of $239.00, which was the amount Mr. [redacted] paid for the MLS upgrade. We do not give refunds normally for our services, but due to the items outlined in Mr. [redacted]'s complaint, we are processing the $239 on 10.20.15 as goodwill.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/09/24) */
I spoke with [redacted] and have refunded her $60 for the purchase of a yard sign on 9.24.15.

ForSalebyOwner is an entirely separate entity than The Sun Sentinel and has no affiliation with the newspaper. This complaint should be directed towards the Sun Sentinel, not ForSalebyOwner.com. Thank you very much, I hope this helps. ...

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 12, 2015/06/14) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
If this is not the Correct party, then who is? Why was it directed to them, and not the Sun Sentinel?
Sun Sentinel has to take ownership of this.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 14, 2015/06/15) */
Hello,
This complaint has come to ForSalebyOwner.com, a company that does not handle any part of the Sun Sentinel and their newspaper distribution. ForSalebyOwner is an online real estate company, offering marketing and advertising for homeowners and does not offer any form of print publication. ForSalebyOwner is owned by the Tribune Publishing company but is not the correct party regarding this complaint. The Sun Sentinel will need to be contacted regarding this dispute.
Thank you

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/09/11) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I agree that I had a misunderstanding of what their contract would be giving me but my home was only listed on [redacted] and[redacted]. I could not find it on [redacted] so how could anyone else. I no longer care about getting a refund but I would like a post put into the system that their customer service department puts you on hold for about 30 minutes and then disconnects you. After several attempts to contact them the only way I could speak to someone was to pretend I was a new customer. The man I spoke with was extremely rude and accusatory and when I said I would be searching for another company he hung up on me. Then they cancelled my account when I still had 10 days left for my listing to be active. People need to know how terrible their service is and their are better companies out their that will give you an MLS number for only $200 instead of $600. Please I just want the general public to know how bad they really are. Thank you, [redacted]

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
Sincerely,
