*** ***Dear Revdex.com,This is to update complaint #***Yesterday, June 22, 2017, we had Michael & Sons return to correct the issues with the hot water heater and
pressureThe outcome was this:Michael & Son at first tried to deny the issues but were caught in a few lies that led to a discussion about a true resolution Michael & Son replaced the pressure valve that was likely damaged by their own tech turning it up to max, they removed the mixer tap (booster) from the hot water heater, turned down the tempreture on the hot water heater tank that was also at max, and directly connected the hot water heater, turned down the pressure valve to between 60-psi (we were not told the measurement, but we are assured it was turned down)There is supposed to be a refund coming in the amount of $for the "booster" that was removed, & an inspection needs to be completed by the City of *** to avoid penalties. I have not received the refund as of yet, but it may take time to processOnce the refund goes through & the inspection is rescheduled & passed I am satisfied this case is resolved.Thank you for your time in helping us resolve this matterI really appreciate what you do for the consumer.Kindest Regards,*** ***

I am rejecting this response because: Once again this company gives the run around, this so called courtesy price of $is not a courtesy it is a rip off and was not offered until I got the Revdex.com involved2nd of all the competitor that is mentioned is ***'s and they gave me the first estimate thinking also that this was a bigger job, they have done work for me previously, they also came by on Friday after this job was completed and I explained what happened and they also agree I got ripped off and told me Michael and Son is known to rip customers offI like many consumers with a leaking pipe will call around to see if a company can complete a job soon, and also ask about Pricing that's what consumers doSo again this company wants to act like I did something wrong by calling and asking questionsThe problem here is that I was told that the job was expected to be a BIG job and it turned out to be way more easier than expected and they think I was going to not stop and ask for money back on a job that took under hour and used less than $in partLike I said I want this settled at $ which is still to much, this company has caused extreme stress in my house and if the next response is not what I want then I am taking this company to courtThey keep wanting this complaint closed because they know they are WRONGI have heard their same story times and they have done nothing but give a non-sense run around storyYES I AGREE THE LEAK IS FIXED I HAVE NOT DISPUTED THIS, WHAT I DISAGREE WITH IS THE COST!!!!! I FEEL STRONG ABOUT MY DECISION AND WILL STAND UP TO THIS COMPANY IN COURT, NO ONE DESERVES TO BE PUT THROUGH WHAT I BEEN THROUGH

Again thank you for allowing us to respond to the concern of ** ***She is correct we did not put the freon rin writing and therefore can not prove that to be true. Our Service technician did confirm the unit was leaking in writing and that a replacement is the correction to make things right.Thank you for your time and I am not sure what is required further from us ?Please close file as satisfied

I did not agree on her resolution. After our research there is no reason to refund $and as a courtesy we wanted to help with her inconvenience and offered to pay $250.We will still hold that offer and no further action will be required. Thanks, Vance S

Thank you for allowing us to respond to our customers concern dealing with a refund check for the diagnostic feesFirst the understanding is that all fees are charged for any service call made at the customer home unless this is a return call or some exception has taken place. We attached a copy of
the check that was sent out on March #rd as confirmed with the customer the same day by Jason S*** and the accounting senior rep*** *** ***.Michael a& Son service appreciate your help regarding this matter and asked in the future if you allow that we get the chance to serve the customer with all follow up on refunds I don't believe that this is a valid complaint and should not be held against usSo if you agree we would like this matter confirmed as satisfied or if possible not listed as a complaint at all. Thanks Vance

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: Michael and Sons's description of the outcome of this complaint is slightly inaccurate. Michael and Sons sent the same HVAC technician who had come to my home Sunday, June 11 back to my home the evening of Tuesday, June to address the issues I had reportedThe HVAC technician did successfully address the issues that eveningHowever, Michael and Sons called me again Wednesday, June to inform me that they planned to send a technician to my house--again--to complete the same repairs their technician had already completedAt that point, I told them that there might have been a misunderstanding on their part because, by that point, they had already sent someone to my home to complete the necessary repairs

I am asking the plumber if they can write up an invoice saying that they aided in diagnosing the problem for me.Will the invoice include a partial refund for the air handler they installed that has a service warranty since they now refuse to serve me?Also, is there a way to guarantee that I will receive my refund without being blackmailed as previous customers have doneSee attached emails of previous accounts from the company's customer relations manager

Thank you for the reply of our customer ** ***It does not appear we are convincing our customer that the concern she is having is beyond our controlAll the work requested from Michael & Son Service is complete and workingwe have been paid in full and are not responsible for any insurance claims or pay offs. We are asking that this matter be closed based on the fact that we are in no way creating or responsible for her current claim or conditionShe has been provided constant help from us by way of taking time to give her Insurance company State Farm all the break downs we can to support her claimMichael & Son Service Inc do not break out our pricing we are a flat rate only service company so we can only provide them with an approximae cost it is to their (state Farm ) discretion to determine how they will pay their customer. Again, I thank you for the many replys we have been offered to assist this customer but we are asking to be removed from this concern as all the work requested of Michael & Son Service Inc has been paid in full and completed and working to the customer satisfaction

To Whom It May Concern,This is in response to the complaint entered by *** *** on *** *** ***, Parkville, Maryland *** Michael & Son Services regrets that we are not successfully communicating the issues with *** ***’s system in a way in which she can understand
*** *** continues to insist that the compressor failure was caused by our Electrician However, the compressor failure was the reason she called Michael & Son Services initially. On August 16, 2016, *** *** called Michael & Son Services due to the breaker for her AC unit was tripping The call dispatch reads:“OC, $D/F, AC Unit keeps tripping the breaker, zone, exterior unit located side of home, interior unit located in basement, issue been occurring upon arrival back from vacation “This dispatch is consistent with *** ***’s description in her complaint letter:“I called Michael & Son because my air conditioner tripped a breaker.”This confirms that there was a problem prior to any Michael & Son technicians responding to her home Based on this description an electrician was sent initially to check the AC breaker in the main electrical panel and the circuit powering the AC unit Electricians are licensed to check breakers in the main panel and high voltage household circuits A breaker continuously tripping to an AC unit means that the breaker may be bad, the circuit may be bad or the AC unit is shorted. On August 16, 2016, a Michael & Son electrician arrived and confirmed the breaker was not faulty He also confirmed that the circuit to the AC unit was not faulty In confirming that high voltage power was present at the AC unit the internally shorted compressor postings failed and the high pressure refrigerant began leaking from the shorted postings At this point, the electrician ended his diagnosis on the breaker and the circuit and referred the call to an HVAC technician for further diagnostics on the compressor On August 16, 2016, a Michael & Son HVAC technician arrived and confirmed the compressor short was the reason for the breaker initially tripping According to the age of the system which is 20+ years old and the terminal compressor failure and the R-phase out, the HVAC technician offered quotes to replace the existing system. The reason *** ***’s compressor failure is not due to any action on the part of the electrician but was the current issue Compressor shorts cannot be caused by “probing and checking connections” Sparking and blown compressor postings are a RESULT of a shorted compressor and do not precede that type of failure Upon speaking with the customer it was clear that *** *** failed to understand that the compressor failure was the reason for the initial breaker tripping and that the compressor was irreparable before any technicians arrived to perform diagnostics She insists that the diagnostics performed by Michael & Son is the reason the system is not repairable Now she has taken the angle of us sending out an electrician prior to the HVAC technician as us sending non-licensed tradesmen to her home Below are the qualifications of the technicians dispatched to the service call:Edward H*** Maryland Journeyman Licensed Electrician #***Alex B*** Maryland DLLR HVAC Apprentice License #*** (Working under Master HVAC License #***).Again, we regret that *** *** truly believes that Michael & Son is responsible for her AC unit failure despite the accurate diagnostics provided by our qualified technicians We recommended that she get second opinions from other HVAC professionals and research common compressor failures We also waived our dispatch fees because she was clearly upset and misinterpreting the situation *** *** was also told that we would be happy to replace her system for the quoted price but would not take responsibility for her compressor failure. At this time, Michael & Son will not assume responsibility for the compressor failure OR for sending non-licensed technicians to work on her home Also, no discounts will be applied to the quoted amount assuming responsibility for any of the above allegations However, Michael & Son Services is always willing and often does apply rebates and discounts for system replacements depending on the customer’s situation and needs We would be happy to offer any rebates and discounts that apply to *** *** should she contract with us to complete her AC replacement

Date: Fri, Jun 16, at 4:PMSubject: Complaint ID: ***To: "***@myRevdex.com.org" , *** *** Thank you for allowing us to handle this concern regarding our customer. We reviewed the file and find that all was completed

I learned this customer came to us over a dispute with another company ( *** *** ***)She claim they too caused her great harm while giving their opinion of the condition of her unit. Please help us and close this concern as satisfied the fee of $was for the diagnostic onlyThere were no charges for the Freon on a Runit that will soon be obsoleteThanks, Vance S
