This appears to be fraudulent activity on the cardholder's cardWe have closed down the account used to place the order, but we are not able to provide further information about the order as that is prohibited by lawWe kindly recommend contacting the issuing bank to report the fraudulent activity

Our policy concerning points for sample reviews recently changed, and we notified subscribers of this change via email in June. Birchbox does allow subscribers to review their first 5 samples for 50 Birchbox points, a $5 credit in our store. After that, subscribers are not able to review their boxes... for points each month. This is listed on our FAQ. The advertisement described in this complaint is shown under a banner that reads "Subscribe Now!" because it is referring to reviews for the first box only, and is encouraging non-subscribers to subscribe and review their first box. This subscriber was able to review both her July and August boxes successfully, and she was compensated with Birchbox points. We will not be compensating further.

As indicated on our FAQ, Birchbox Man subscription boxes are non refundable as we are a discovery service. We do give subscribers the option to edit a profile that helps us determine what to include in their boxes each month. [redacted] reached out to us on August [redacted] and Mollie responded and offered to... assist him in editing his Grooming Profile to improve his experience for next month. We have now refunded [redacted] as a courtesy, and we will be happy to assist him if he has any trouble going forward.

We shipped the replacement box at no charge to ***She was not charged for shippingInstead, it looks like she used her $credit to purchase a full size productBecause she chose to purchase this product, she was also required to pay for shipping, as only orders over $qualify for free shipping on our siteThis order that *** placed is completely separate from her subscription or the replacement box we sent to herShe was not charged for shipping on either of thoseWe have given *** store credit and a replacement box at no charge to herWe will not be refunding the $shipping charge on her full size order that she placed separately from the subscription

As defined by our Terms and Conditions listed on our site, Birchbox reserves the right to limit quantities purchased by our Members, so this order could not be fulfilledWe have issued a full refund in the same form that the customer paid

I spoke with a Discovery Specialist (customer service rep) via phone and exchanged emails with a couple of their reps as well. They would not refund the $charge made to my debit card Birchbox only provided 'canned' responses for this fraud case. Like many companies I have observed that employ a debit/credit fishing scam, they route the customer back-and-forth through different Discovery Specialist team members in the hope the customer will drop the issue. They were able to quickly locate the fraudulent account that was used to charge my debit card, but their legal department claimed they cannot provide any of the account information because they need to protect their customers. In other words, Birchbox needs to protect their fraudulent activities or the fraudulent activities of criminals that use their service in their best interest. In order to resolve this issue, I had to contact my bank and go through their dispute process.
