I purchase the $29 Groupon deal for water heater flush. Set up appointment and took hrs off from work. Flush was completed (didn't seem like much time and attention given to that process) however the service person got pretty excited when he saw that my water softener wasn't work. Well of course received a quote and it seemed pretty high. The product that he was quoting was the second from the bottom and was 1495.00 with three year warranty. North Star product. I told service person that I would think about it. The service person stated that he would let me think about and planned to return on the following Monday (since I was on vacation that day.)
When the srv person returned I told him that the price was too much and that I would deal with it and search around. Took him business card.
After researching products on line, services, warranty, ref'l from others-I received 4 quotes. I decided to go with one of their competitors because the product was better quality had a 5 year warranty and was over $400 less.
A few days after having the flush the tank was now leaking. Called the office for GenzRyan on Saturday. [redacted] returned my call and said that she would make sure that a manager give me a call on Monday. No call Monday. Tuesday I called the company. The girl sent out service person.
He was even worse than the first guy. This one decided that he was going to talk down to me. Even though the product is GenzRyan product that was installed by THEM he stated that they just had been out here replacing many of them. (Even though the first srv person said that was one of the really good products). Then to top it all off the srv worker saw that I had a new water softener (not installed by one of their competitors) and when I asked for a quote on new water heater he said well why don't you get a quote from these guys you seem not to be happy with our service. With that -that solved the problem.
This company is just wanting to sell you a product-and they don't seem to like that there are competitiors out there.
This had to be one of the worse service experience I have had as a homeowner.
Friendly customer service is not their motto.
I was very shocked by the talking down and the complete arrogance of the srv staff.
I am glad that I took my time and did some research.

Karen, in the office of Genz-Ryan, made sure I was continually updated as to the status of my service call so there were no surprises. Jeff, the technician, did an excellent job of diagnosing the furnace problem, fixing it quickly, and explaining what was done in terms that were understandable.

I had an issue with a leaking AC unit. Noah of Genz-Ryan was able to determine the root problem and schedule an install of a new condenser coil and drainage pan that same day. Noah had to to call 7 different suppliers to find the right parts for my unit. The installer showed up a couple hours later and was able to install the parts even though they had technical challenges due to drainage holes position on the unit.

The Service Technician who came to my house was Tom R. He was very friendly, knowledgeable and thorough in his assessments and his work. He explained what he was repairing and why, completed the task he was requested to perform and pointed out other areas to consider performing maintenance on to prolong the life of my water heater. I would highly recommend Genz-Ryan for any plumbing needs and was very grateful that Tom R. was the technician who was sent to my house.

First experience with Genz-Ryan Plumbing and Heating. On a July day that will have a heat index of over 100 my home AC stopped pumping cool air. Called at 7:30 am and at noon Noah F. was there to fix it. He gave me all the options starting with the least expensive and was able to fix it that way. I would HIGHLY recommend Genz-Ryan and specifically Noah. I also purchased a silver $5 per month plan that will have them come twice a year for free to do maintenance inspections of my heating and AC.

The Service Pro, Matt M, was outstanding. After assessing my need for a new hot water heater, he presented me with several options, carefully explaining each. He was positive, thorough, personable, and not pushy. It's a pleasure doing business with someone like Matt, and Genz-Ryan is fortunate to have him on its staff.
