I am rejecting this response because:They made no reference to mileage relating to business use, that deduction was the primary target of the IRS audit. We had used the same method of calculating business mileage for more than years. We were instructed by *** *** of HRBlock to use this formula to calculate vehicle mileage every year since This same formula was also used by *** *** of HRBlock in ,after retirement of *** *** in As part of the audit *** *** of HRBlock and my husband met with *** ***.During these meetings *** admitted to *** ( IRS Agent) that both tax preparers were at Fault in the method used to determine Vehicle deduction. This error along with error in student interest deduction is what resulted in my husband and I having to pay Fed$, **State and Fed$1314.88,**.State $367.87.We were told by their HRBlock premium office in *** ***.,by *** ***,the Office Manager, and *** that the amount we paid to IRS and State will certainly be covered by there Peace of Mind policy which we had purchased each year from HRBlock. We were shocked as they were, when both and claims were rejected by their Client Escalation Deptat HRBlock World HeadquartersBoth *** and *** advised us to submit an appealThey both said no doubt in their mind it was Tax Preparers faultWhen appeal was declined they told us how sorry they were but their hands are tied in helping us any further. We want what we Paid to Federal $and State $for tax year and $Federal and State $2014, which was generated by the wrong calculation of Vehicle Mileage by HRBlock tax preparers!
It is obvious in dealing with Revdex.com that we are not the only ones having to deal with HRBlock Peace of Mind policy that is very misleading Even their Own employees at their Premium office admitted this to us.Regards,

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:Staff at the local H&R Branch did not disclose the fee of my tax preparation before my taxes werepreparedIn I was charged $ In $2017, about $The tax associate admitted to me that I was overchargedIf the $was the fee for tax preparation, she would have told me that. She was surprised of the amount I was charged and actually said “I don’t know why you were charged that much.” The claim that this was the normal, competitive amount for a tax preparation is not true. I would settle for a $refundI fear that this branch is overcharging their clientsThey don’t discuss the amountcharged until AFTER the taxes are submitted and a “refund can’t be given.”For the service I received at this branch, it is not worth $I tried to add a child care deduction and I was asked “you want more money?!” The child care expenses deduction was not applied by the employee.I was overcharged and request a refundI shouldn’t have to pay them $to get $back If I did that, they would be paying me back with my own money Regards,

Dear Revdex.com,In response to this matter, our investigation reflects that Ms***'s complaint is against a franchise office, which has the responsibility to resolve this matter directly with your office and directly with the clientRecords reflect that upon further review of Ms
***'s tax return by the franchised office, an amended return was prepared to include the Affordable Care Act Premium Tax Credit to which Ms*** qualified. While we sincerely regret Ms***'s tax office experience, H&R Block is committed to making the situation rightIt is Franchisee, Jannis ***'s belief that she has done so in this case by amending the tax return and returning the fee associated with the Premium Tax Credit filingAdditionally, the franchise office attempted to contact the Internal Revenue Service on Ms***'s behalf in an effort to expedite the process and check the timing of the amended return however, their efforts were unsuccessful as the IRS could not provide an expected refund date at that timeTo further make amends in this case, it is our understanding that the franchisee has agreed to refund a fraction of the tax preparation fees and is mailing a check to the address on recordWe assure you that we take the concerns of our
clients seriously and make every effort to resolve matters thoroughly and
fairlyIf you should need anything further or have any questions, please do not
hesitate to contact me.Sincerely, *** *** Associate Business Analyst H&R Block

Dear Revdex.com,H&R Block has reviewed Mr***'s rebuttal to our prior responseThis response contains H&R Block's final position. H&R Block prepares millions of tax returns each year, and if we do make an error, we are committed to making the situation right. It is our belief that we have done so in Mr***'s situation by reimbursing interest and penalties assessed per the notice provided for the tax year 2010, pursuant to our H&R Block GuaranteeWe assure you that we take the concerns of our clients seriously and make every effort to resolve matters thoroughly and fairly. We respectfully request that this case be closed adminstratively judged resolved, as we do not believe that any further response on our part would be beneficialHowever, should you have additional questions or desire to discuss this matter further, please do not hesitate to contact me. I am rejecting this response because:
As you can see from the attached file, I asked multiple times for my important and private information to be sent via certified mail to ensure that nothing would happen to itI can understand why you wouldn't want to respond to this as you guys know you're wrong! Is HRB not capable to admit the mistakes that they makeOn a side note if HRB feels they did nothing wrong why did I have a manager call me and promise to help me only to never call me back or have contact with me again? As I mentioned in my last response if we can't get the issue settled through Revdex.com I will have know choice but to go to the media and contact an attorney with all the recordings, emails and other detailed information that shows all the wrong doing HRB has done

Dear Revdex.com, In response to Mr***'s rebuttal and as a reminder, Mr***'s complaint is against a franchise office which has the responsibility to resolve this matter directly with your office and directly with the client. The rebuttal suggests that a message was left to contact Mr*** regarding this matterI refute this statement, as I have not received any voice messages nor has any messages been brought to my attention other than the correspondence through this forum. Nonetheless, in further review of this complaint an executive decision has been made to reimburse Mr***'s tax preparation fees as a client service gestureWe ask for Mr*** to allow to business days for processing. We regret Mr***'s experience with H&R Block and assure you that we take the concerns of our client's seriously and make every effort to resolve matters thoroughly and fairly. If you should need anything further or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Sincerely,*** ***Associate Business AnalystH&R Block

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:This is a claim, I was not contacted by the district office The tax professional who helped file my amendment recently contacted me via email and explained what I already knew; that my tax returns were incorrectly filed from to and the $4,had to pay to the IRS was because my former H&R Block tax professional chose the incorrect depreciation method for my properties I have included an except from the H&R Block Peace of Mind Terms and Conditions page below My situation clearly falls within what they are describing in this situation "If your tax liability increases as a result of an error in tax preparation and the error is discovered by you, your
representative or a tax authority, during the period of three years from the filing deadlines for such returns, not
including extensions, Block will pay you for such taxes up to a cumulative total of $6,for all such returns, subject
to the terms and conditions detailed belowAny Block errors resulting from Block’s misinterpretation of your tax
situation will only be reimbursed if all other terms and conditions have been met by you, including that you have
provided complete and accurate informationIn that event, Block may, at its sole discretion and expense, challenge
the determination that additional taxes are owed, and Block will reimburse you upon the conclusion of an
unsuccessful challengeSuch three year limitation applies to your federal and state returns, including returns for those
states in which the "open" period to review returns is greater than three yearsIn some cases, the correction of a
specific error will involve changes on multiple returns, including state or local tax returns, which may result in an
overpayment on one return and a balance due on anotherIn such cases, the overpayment and balance due may be
netted in determining the amount Block will pay for additional taxes owed as a result of correction of the errorBlock
assumes no responsibility for payment of additional taxes to a tax authorityYou are responsible for providing
payment of additional taxes to the tax authority"
I will continue to wait for a satisfactory response and resolution to this issue

Dear Revdex.com,In response to Ms***'s rebuttal, our review determines the rebuttal raises no new issues or allegations that H&R Block as a company has not investigated and consideredAlthough we stand by our original response dated April 2, and we refer your office back to it, H&R Block further responds as follows. In her rebuttal, Ms*** requests time periods for when H&R Block sought from her the IRS’ Form 1099-BOur staff asserts that, including when Ms*** first brought her IRS audit or deficiency notice to our tax office, on both her initial visit and all following visits to our office she was asked verbally for the 1099-BThose occasions included in October 2014, December 2014, and May before Ms*** supplied the document.H&R Block has reviewed and investigated Ms***’s allegations extensively and at multiple levels within our companyOur staff reports a version of the facts that differs from Ms***’s allegations and differs from the timelines alleged by Ms***We have no reason to believe that our staff misrepresented any facts or statements made during H&R Block’s internal investigation.H&R Block regrets having disputed positions with Ms***, and we regret that she appears dissatisfied with her experience with our companyHowever, ultimately H&R Block waived additional fees and prepared her amended tax returns free of charge; although fees rightfully applied because the amendment was due to no error or fault on our partInstead, the amendment resulted from Ms*** not reporting on her original tax returns the income associated with her Form 1099-BThe free amendment we gave her is the only compromise we are willing to make in response to her allegationsAs Ms***’s rebuttal complaint notes, ultimately she received a good result with her taxes decreasing and her income tax refund increasingAs summarized above, it appears that Ms*** and H&R Block are unable to reach agreementTherefore, we respectfully request that this case be closed, as H&R Block does not believe any further response on our part would be beneficialHowever, should you have additional questions or desire to discuss this matter further, please do not hesitate to contact meSincerely, Quintina M***Associate Business AnalystH&R Block

I am rejecting this response because: The check was received, however, it isn’t the correct amount, as stated in the initial complaint the amount we paid for the preperation fee was $The check we received was in the amount of $335.75, which is incorrectPerhaps it would be useful for H&R Block to re-read the initial complain as it has the correct mailing addresss and the correct refund amountThe check with the remaining balance owed to us of $can be mailed to the following address (same as check mailed November 30th): *** *** *** *** *** *** ***

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:
***
*** has received responses to his formal complaint against H&R Block
from:
1) Their Kansas City, MO
headquarters location
2) Their Natrona Heights
franchise office
Essentially, the
headquarters office indicated *** did not provide sufficient records to support
deductions. While the IRS has “ruled” on
that, it is ***’s contention that he did provide notes, that he kept daily, of
mileage to/from work sites and a description of what he did. The franchise office also had a letter from
his company that provided support It
was ***’s expectation that the franchise office would have reviewed his
diary/notes and asked him to provide any additional information that they deemed
lacking, to support the IRS requirements for “use of personal vehicle for
business”. H&R Block did not provide
any support to *** on this matter
In addition, H&R Block
failed to provide representation with the IRS, even though *** provided them
with all IRS letters that he received, in a very timely manner. The franchise office has stated that it was
the H&R Block District Field Manager, Kim Fry’s responsibility, to provide
an H&R Block enrolled agent, or appropriate representative, with the IRS,
regarding the matter. *** notified
H&R Block several times during the week of 10/24/of the IRS letter he received and presented it, in
person, to *** *** and *** *** on 11/13/They reviewed
the IRS letter and stated they would get an H&R Block person to represent
him. The terms of the IRS letter
specified the last date to petition the tax court was 1/20/15. That date has passed without H&R Block
ever providing a representative, or even adequate communication regarding the
matter
***
contends, that with a little bit of help from H&R Block, on two occasions, the
IRS could have returned a ruling favorable to allowing his deduction for
business expense. It appears that
H&R Block demonstrated a lack of accountability between their franchise
office, their district field office, and their headquarters office, in
providing adequate support to ***, even though he relied on them to do so and
paid for a “Peace of Mind” agreement
Please see the attached file for much more detailed information

*** ***
