I am rejecting this response because: Mr*** investigation and response do not reflect the actual facts, in questionThe call proceeded as follows:Me: HelloCaller: May I speak to ***?Me: Yes.Caller: Is this *** ***.Me: Speaking.Caller: Hi this is ***Can you confirm your social security number, the last four digits of your social security number are ***?Me: No, I cannotWho is this?Caller: My name is ***Can you please confirm that your social security number ends in ***, and your date of firth is [caller provided]?Me: [hung up the phone, because it sounded like a hacking / phishing fraud call]According to Federal statute, once I positively identified myself as *** ***, the caller is compelled by the FDCPA to identify the collection organization and to inform me that the call was made to collect a debt and that any information relayed would be used for that purposeAs you can see, from the call script (above) the caller did not comply with the lawThis failure on the part of Halsted has been conveyed to the proper authoritiesThis behavior represents a serious breach of their duty; especially given the fact that million people have had their identities stolen from ***No sane person would confirm their social security number and date of birth, to a complete stranger.Halsted should be censured by the Revdex.comThis business practice is neither legal nor ethical

on July 23rd, 2015 it appears that Ms. [redacted] is alleging that one of our representatives had been placing calls to her family members with intent to threaten her and her place of employment.
Ms. [redacted]'s claims are simply not true. Our office maintains strict controls and procedures to prevent and prohibit our staff from engaging in such acts. Our records indicate that Ms. [redacted]'s account had been placed in our office by the current creditor for servicing in early July '2015. In addition, our records indicate that our office has since then been unable to establish verbal contact with Ms. [redacted] wherein which we could have been notified to cease calls to an inconvenient number(s).
It is possible that Ms. [redacted]'s account had been previously worked with an agency that is responsible for her negative experience documented in this complaint.
We would like to express our willingness to work with all consumers when requests for original documentation are made. When a complaint of this nature is received our office acknowledges the consumer's concern and issues a request for original documentation. These requests are submitted immediately, however being that we are at the mercy of the current creditor to supply these documents in a timely manner, we apologize in advance for the delay. If the current creditor is unable to provide our office with Ms. [redacted]'s request, after 30 days our office will close and return this account the current creditor/owner of her account.
