no paper
The Hartford Courant has to have the worst customer service in the country.. I signed up for Thursday and Sunday delivery to start on Feb. 16th. Did not get a paper on Feb. 23rrd. I called 4 times on Feb. 23rd; had 3 promises that I would get a paper that day. Did not happen. Called on Friday. Feb. 24th. Was assured by Flynn and Mey that I would get Thursdays paper om Saturday. That did not happen. I called again today. The person (didn't catch name, she talked so fast) actually hung up on me. If that's good customer service I can see why the circulation is down and before long it will be zippo.

Low price offers aren't real
When my Courant digital subscription came up for renewal I decided to cancel it because it's too expensive. When I called to,cancel I was offered a $50 renewal price. I accepted only to find I was being billed at the old monthly rate. When I called to,cancel again, I was again offered another lower rate. I refused. I was told my subscription would end November 15th. Except my billing date was November 4th. I would be paying for a month but getting 12 days service! When I pointed this out, I was finally told I would get my money back and my subscription would be cancelled today. L3ts see how getting my money back works out.

continued subscription
My subscription to the Hartford Courant ended in October 2022. I received a letter with the renewal for the courant prior to the end date. I called and stated I no longer wish to receive the courant and would not be renewing. Since October the Hartford Courant continues to deliver the paper on Thursdays and Sundays. I have called the customer service number several times to tell them I no longer wish to receive the newspaper and they assured me that the subscription is cancelled. I do not want to be held liable for these newspapers when I clearly told them by phone I no longer want the newspaper. I will not be put into collections or billed for something I did not renew.

Shameless & Pathetic
The oldest running continual newspaper in the country has the poorest customer out of the country customer service and unreliable home delivery. It's no wonder their circulation is down to about 92K customers from once upon a time, 300-500K.. If you need to talk to someone, you're shipped out of the country and deal with arrogant, hard-to-understand customer service clerks. What a disgrace and embarrassment the Hartford Courant has turned out to be. They'll never get another dime out of me. After trying to understand an explanation of why my bill went up 20 dollars after putting a two-week vacation stop on the paper, an arrogant, hard to understand agent hung up on me.. Go figure.

Scammers!
The Courant raised their price so high, I didn’t want it anymore. A representative from their collection department called me and offered me a half price rate if I would pay right then. I did so, understanding that it would be half the price that they quoted me originally, for a full year. When I got my Visa bill, I saw that they charged me more than double! When I called Customer Service, which is in the Philippines, I was told that they could not honor the lower rate. They beat and switch their prices. They promise one thing and deliver another. Also, our delivery was almost nonexistent. Our delivery person would bring our paper every other day, and bring the previous days paper along with that day. It got to be so ridiculous, I signed up with a Journal Inquirer.

Delivery Problem
I continually complain too the Hartford Courant about my delivery problem, and nothing gets done about it. I am handicapped. all that I ask is that my paper be place in front of my front door , so that I'll be able too reach it to bring it inside my home. Please do something about my issue.

Liars and thieves
Paid in full for an 8 week subscription special. Took my money from my account and I have never received any paper. After over a week of promised next day delivery, I just said CANCEL the subscription and refund my money. Now they say the payment was declined. I have sent numerous copies of proof that the money was taken from my account. They have ignored requests to send proof that payment was declined. I only get automated replies.
