Hutchinson Plumbing Heating Cooling

Review: In 2012 I converted my oil heating system to gas. Hutchinson Plumbing and Heating installed the new system and from almost day one there has been a problem. The system was installed in the late fall going into winter. At first the problems were minor in regards to leaky joints where the pipes had been soldered and then it moved up to leaky and defective boilers which had to be completely replaced. And, with much complaining and phone calls to get the defective boiler replaced. Last year with the severe winter weather that we experienced my heat went completely out for several nights. Of course I called right away when I noticed that the temperatures were plummeting in the house as were they outside of the home. Mind you, I do have a ten year warranty at this point on all parts and labor. So I contact the company via their 800 number and spoke with someone from their answering service. The answering service tells me that the company does not service after hours and that I would have to wait until morning when someone could come to my home to complete a service call. It's roughly 39° in my home in the dead of winter at night! Needless to say when I recovered from the shock of what I had just heard I became quite angry but....I waited. They came out that next day and it then took them 2 weeks, with various visits and additional outages before they figured out what was wrong. Fast forward to 12/9/14, almost a year afterwards and my heater goes out again. I've had service according to contract and here I am again. I arrived home to a cold house and spoke with the answering service which told me that unless there was property damage Hutchinson would not come out to my home until the morning. The temps weren't at 39° indoors this time but the message is still the same. Hutchinson's business practice is terrible. I feel stuck because I purchased this unit and any other company coming in may not honor my manufacturers warranty.Desired Settlement: I would like an apology and assurance that should something go wrong with my heater again, which I do anticipate, that my problem will be addressed in a timely manner. I can only imagine if I were an elderly person exposed to the dropping temperatures in my home during this ordeal and being told to wait until morning...if you can. This is just bad business practice. I am so disillusioned with this company. I have no faith or confidence in their business practices at all.

Our install was fine, but we were promised a $100 referral check for sending a friend to hutchinson. We never received our check and were ignored by our salesperson jeff, and also ignored when we wrote to customer service. Our next step is to file a complaint.

Russell C. came out to service our heater. He was professional and very helpful. I would highly recommend Hutchinson.

Had service by Terry from Hutchinson Plumbing and was totally satisfied. We had a window schedule and he called 15 minutes prior to arriving on time. He was very reliable, professional, courteous, and super efficient with the job required and very patient with my inquisitiveness. If I should need further service for whatever repair I will call Hutchinson and I will request Terry should he be available.
