We understand this customer has questions about Indiegogo and would like to know when to expect to receive a product.
Indiegogo is an open crowdfunding platform which anyone can use to raise funds for any project, cause, or business. In...

turn, contributors can help fund ideas that they'd like to see come to fruition or that they'd like to be a part of making happen. Campaigns are run solely by their respective owners, and they are the party that offers perks and is solely responsible for fulfilling perks.
It's important to note that by contributing to a campaign you are supporting an idea, project, or cause you care about. One of the amazing parts of crowdfunding is pitching in and helping ideas you'd like to see come to life! It's very rewarding to see projects that you fund go from idea phase, to seeing the stages of it's development, and (if all goes according to plan) see the project be successful.
IF this contributor has questions about when they can expect to receive the perk they claimed on a campaign, please contact the campaign owner directly.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
They need to take action against the fraudulent business they presented to the public and supported.
The fraudulent business in question offers no response or communication to backers.
Indiegogo needs to step in on the backers behalf.
Thank You

This case is not closed. Indiegogo has not refunded the amount due, nor contacted me about how to resolve this. Also, there have been hundreds of complaints for this company over the past few months. Please re-open this case, thank you.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 14, 2015/03/15) */
We understand this customer had a follow up to their initial complaint.
As previously outlined, contributions are not refundable by Indiegogo. Our Terms of Use (https://www.indiegogo.com/about/terms) outlines: "Contributions, including the Service Fees portion thereof, are not refundable." As such, this contributor's request for a refund should be conveyed to the owner of the campaign- they are the party solely responsible for their campaign, responsible for any perks offered, and are the party who has the funds from which any refunds would be issued.
Again, by creating a campaign on Indiegogo, the campaign owner agrees to use funds and fulfill all perks as stated in their campaign. If, for any reason, they are unable to use Contributions as described in their Campaign, they agree to work with the Contributors to reach a mutually satisfactory resolution, which may include refunding their Contributions.
Finally, Indiegogo's Support team has been in touch with this contributor to outline this policy via https://indiegogo.zendesk.com/agent/tickets/XXXXXX. In this correspondence the refund policy was outlined, and we shared the campaign owner's contact information with this contributor in an effort to facilitate communication between the two parties involved in this dispute- the contributor and campaign owner.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Indiegogo keeps directing me to contact their customer, but their customer does not respond and is not located in the United States. They willingly accepted money in the form of commission on the contributions I gave, and are refusing to accept any responsibility for this fraud. Indiegogo is liable, and facilitates fraud. As a member of the Revdex.com, they should be ashamed of their conduct and change their policies at once. I will continue to demand a full refund from Indiegogo.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/07/29) */
We understand this customer has a question about a campaign which raised funds on Indiegogo.
Indiegogo is a global crowdfunding platform which empowers people to raise funds for the things that matter to them, and in turn allows...

contributors to help fund ideas they'd like to help bring to life. Campaign owner's often offer perks (goods, services, etc.) in exchange for contributions to their campaign.
Campaigns are run by their respective owners, and perks are offers made solely by the campaign owner- not by Indiegogo. As such, Indiegogo is not able to guarantee that perks will be delivered or deemed satisfactory. The nature of crowdfunding is such that campaigns on Indiegogo are raising funds for work-in-progress projects, ideas, or causes. Contributing to a campaign and claiming a perk on Indiegogo is not the same as buying something online. Like anyone getting in on an early-stage project, contributors accept the risk that the project may experiences changes, delays, unforeseen challenges, and it's possible that a project they fund might not come to fruition.
We see that the owner of this campaign has been communicating with their contributors regarding the status of their project, as well as roadblocks they are encountering, and what steps they are taking. We encourage this contributor to review the campaign's updates tab (https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/wave-electric-28-mph-bike#/updates) for the most up-to-date information from the campaign owner, directly.
Because contributions made through Indiegogo are transactions that take place between the campaign owner, contributor, and payment processor, we are unable to issue a refund to this contributor. However, we do suggest that the contributor feel free to reach out directly to the campaign owner to resolve any perk questions or request a refund.
We have been in touch with this contributor to outline this information.

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/06/23) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
They never responded to any of my inquiries about my campaign as to why it didn't meet their trust and safety guidelines, my campaign had been collecting funds and was doing well, they shut it down without explaining anything or releasing any of the funds I worked so hard to raise. It was a legitimate campaign and there was no reason for it to be shut down or for my account to be frozen. They've still yet to respond to any of my emails. Alls I want is answers. I did nothing wrong and feel as though I'm being punished.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
There's ticket number XXXXX as well as XXXXXX and XXXXXX, all of which were never responded to, I got a generic message stating that my campaign was frozen due to unusual campaign activity, I just want the funds that I raised for my causes back, they were donated to me for my campaign, this is just ridiculous now, I was crowd funding and collected funds, you people blindly shut down my campaigns and aren't giving me a good reason at all, you just keep saying you can share specific details about the campaign I deserve to know why!! Not just another generic response!!

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:  Indiegogo took the money from my bank account.  No item or service was received in exchange for the funds they have taken.  I did not wish to contribute to a fundraiser.  It is very deceiving to promote an item for sale and then turn around and call it a fundraiser or crowdfunding or whatever loophole they are using.  I purchased an item with the intentions of receiving that item.  My intentions were not to promote an up and coming business in hopes that they may one day become a real business and actually make good on the orders they received through the Indiegogo website.  I asked to cancel the transaction and receive a refund.  Indiegogo should back the companies or "campaign owners" they are promoting on their website just as [redacted] does, [redacted] does and [redacted] does.  Particularly if they are taking money on their behalf.  How am I supposed to chase down a campaign owner for my money yet Indiegogo's account was who withdrew the funds in the first place?  This responsibility should be placed on Indiegogo for releasing funds prior to an item being available for shipping. At this point I would have been better suited taking $139 and setting fire to it as at least I could see how my money disappeared.

I understand that indiegogo is not the one to blame about this scam, but it's amazing that the would put their hand on fire for nanoplug, because this has been a scam, yes we were backing up a project, but because of the information shown on indiegogo website, we decided to back that up!!! and the hearing aid they were showing suppose it was already tried, that means it was possible to make, so we don't know how do you promote people to go and help nanoplug without making your own reseach about the product, and the worst is that nanoplug are trying to give us a cheaper chinese version, bigger and already on the market!!! When Indiegogo choose to send the contributions to the campaign owner is not and should not be the contributor's concern.
I insist that since Indiegogo is acting as a platform for this kind of business transaction, Indiegogo should be acting as a buffer and assume responsibility, such as companies like Paypal.
However, I am willing to settle for 50% of the refund ($57.5 USD).

We understand this customer has additional points on this matter. To clarify, Indiegogo is a global crowdfunding platform that empowers people to raise funds for the things that matter to them. Our Terms of Use (http://www.indiegogo.com/about/terms) obligates campaign owners to fulfill any promised perks. Perk fulfillment is the full responsibility of the campaign owner, not Indiegogo. Furthermore, contributors are responsible for vetting the campaign to their own satisfaction before deciding to contribute. Our Terms of Use states,
"Indiegogo is an online crowdfunding venue for people and entities seeking to raise funds for their own Campaigns and to contribute to the Campaigns of others. Campaign Owners can offer gifts or rewards in the form of tangible items or intangible services (collectively, "Perks") to Contributors. Perks are not offered for sale. Indiegogo makes no representations about the quality, safety, morality or legality of any Campaign, Perk or Contribution or the truth or accuracy of your User Content (as defined below) posted on the Service. Indiegogo does not represent that Campaign Owners will deliver Perks or that Contributions will be used as described in the Campaign. Users use the Service at their own risk."
With that said, we have been in contact with this contributor to explain our Terms of Use. We have also shared the campaign owner's contact information with this contributor in an effort to facilitate communication between these two parties.
Regarding this customer's refund request, our records show that this contributor's contribution has already been sent to the campaigner, which means that Indiegogo can no longer issue a refund. (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Indiegogo reiterates over and over about having shared the campaign owner's contact information with me so I may contact him directly for a refund. Please read carefully what I have written in my original posting - I have repeated attempts in trying to contact the campaign owner, to no avail.
I recognize now that Indiegogo has no intentions in protecting its contributors and I will never get my money back. I have selected "no" in response to accepting this business' proposed resolution, because I deem Indiegogo's proposal unsatisfactory and do not want future contributors to assume this incident has been resolved. Revdex.com is welcomed to post my experience on their website and note that this case has never been resolved.

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Neither indegogo or their client is willing to return my miner . This is a scam.Sincerely, [redacted]

If, for any reason, they are unable to use Contributions as described in their Campaign, they agree to work with the Contributors to reach a mutually satisfactory resolution, which may include refunding their Contributions.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/06/02) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Indiegogo charged me and took my money. They need to go after their 3rd party approved vendor and make sure I get my refund. It's their responsibility, not mine. Having said that, I did reach out to the 3rd party numerous times and got either a "too bad" answer or no answer at all. This is nothing short of disturbing, bait and switch marketing tactic.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2015/06/21) */
We understand this customer has additional thoughts on this matter.
We'd like to take a moment to clarify Indiegogo's role. Indiegogo offers an open platform that allows campaign owners to raise funds for their project. In turn contributors can fund projects that they'd like to see come to fruition.
It's important to note, Indiegogo does not run campaigns nor do we offer or fulfill perks, or issue refunds. Instead, the owner of the campaign is the party solely responsible for their unique campaign or fulfilling any perks offered through their campaign. We leave it up to the contributor to make their own judgment (https://support.indiegogo.com/hc/en-us/articles/XXXXXX-How-to-Evaluate-a-Campai... about a campaign's merits before making a contribution.
Furthermore, Indiegogo's Terms of Use (https://www.indiegogo.com/about/terms) outlines that contributions are not refundable by Indiegogo:
"Contributions, including the Service Fees portion thereof, are not refundable. If a Campaign Owner is unable to perform on any promise and/or commitment to Contributors (including delivering any Perks), the Campaign Owner will work with the Contributors to reach a mutually satisfactory resolution, which may include the issuance of a refund of Contributions by the Campaign Owner. "
As such, if this contributor has a question about the status of this campaign, would like information about when they can expect to receive their perk, or would like to request a refund, they will need to make inquiries to the campaign owner, directly. Although we are unable to refund the contributor's contribution, we have been in touch with this contributor and have shared the campaign owner's contact information with this contributor in an effort to facilitate communication.
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 11, 2015/06/25) */

You are the ones who charged my card and you have a 3rd party vendor who you gave my money to who does not care in communicating with me. I did not get my product, will not get my product, and you, the one who charged my credit card, need to refund me.
