Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/10/13) */
Indiegogo is a global crowdfunding platform that empowers people to raise funds for the things that matter to them. Our Terms of Use (http://www.indiegogo.com/about/terms) obligates campaign owners to fulfill any promised perks. Perk...

fulfillment is the full responsibility of the campaign owner.
With that said, we have been in contact with this contributor to explain our Terms of Use and clarify any other questions. Because contributions made through Indiegogo are transactions that take place between the campaign owner, contributor, and payment processor, we are unable to issue a refund to this contributor. However, we do suggest that the contributor feel free to reach out directly to the campaign owner to resolve any perk questions or request a refund.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/10/20) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The Indiegogo needs to hold campaign owner responsible with perks and providing feedback to contributors.
The Indiegogo needs to atleast validate basic qualification of campaign owner.
In this situation lots of contributors have suffered. You can see the feedback available on Indiegogo site for this particular campaign.
Can anyone create scam or fake campaign and get the money Thru the Indiegogo platform.
I contributed because the campaign owner city was shown as [redacted], **. No other information about campaign owner is shown.
Atleast indiegogo should mandate all physical address details and campaign owner qualification is documented on the campaign.
Please share that information asap with campaign contributors so we can pusue the campaign owner with communication updates about delivery of the promised perks.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2015/11/03) */
We understand that this customer has additional thoughts on this matter.
Indiegogo provides an open crowdfunding platform permitting funds to be raised for a wide range of projects in accordance with our Terms of Use (www.indiegogo.com/about/terms). Campaigns are run by their individual campaign owner's and not by Indiegogo. Indiegogo does not manage campaigns, nor does Indiegogo offer perks. Instead, all perks are offers made by Campaign Owners, and we recommend to any contributor who has questions about a campaign's offerings that make inquires of the campaign owner.
People can raise money for various things, and be at various stages of their project. Contributors are backing an idea, not purchasing a pre-made project. Like anyone contributing to an early-stage project, you accept the risk that the project might not come to fruition. Again, Indiegogo does not make claims or verify that a "campaign owner will deliver perks or that contributions will be used as described on the campaign." The decision to contribute to any campaign is in the sole determination of the contributor and their evaluation of the campaign, not Indiegogo. We recommend that each contributor go through their own vetting process before they decide to contribute. We have compiled a list of how to evaluate a campaign, as a good starting point: https://support.indiegogo.com/hc/en-us/articles/XXXXXX-How-to-Evaluate-a-Campaig... /> Our Terms of Use (www.indiegogo.com/about/terms)states,
"Indiegogo is an online crowdfunding venue for people and entities seeking to raise funds for their own Campaigns and to contribute to the Campaigns of others. Campaign Owners can offer gifts or rewards in the form of tangible items or intangible services (collectively, "Perks") to Contributors. Perks are not offered for sale. Indiegogo makes no representations about the quality, safety, morality or legality of any Campaign, Perk or Contribution or the truth or accuracy of your User Content (as defined below) posted on the Service. Indiegogo does not represent that Campaign Owners will deliver Perks or that Contributions will be used as described in the Campaign. Users use the Service at their own risk."
With that said, we have been in contact with this contributor to explain our Terms of Use and clarify any other questions. We have also shared the campaign owner's contact information with this contributor in an effort to facilitate communication between these two parties.

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:  This doesn't address my main complaint which is the complete LACK of response from Indiegogo when I was trying to get them the response from Crazy Baby who said that I needed to reach out to Indiegogo for a refund.
I am incensed that Indiegogo completely ignored me after the initial reply.  A good, reputable company will reply to a customer/patron until their needs or questions were satisfactorily taken care of.
Sincerely,Andrew[redacted]

Indiegogo is a global crowdfunding platform which empowers people to raise funds for the things that matter to them. As the contributor states in their complaint, contributing to a campaign on Indiegogo is not the same thing as making a...

purchase in a store. People can raise money for various things, and be at various stages of their project. Contributors are backing an idea, not purchasing a pre-made project. Like anyone contributing to an early-stage project, you accept the risk that the project might not come to fruition. We have tips on how to evaluate a campaign in our Help Center: http://support.indiegogo.com/entries/XXXXXXXX-how-to-evaluate-a-campaign.
Contributions made through Indiegogo are transactions that take place between the campaign owner, contributor, and payment processor, and are non-refundable by Indiegogo, as stated in our Terms of Use (www.indiegogo.com/about/terms). Therefore, we recommend the contributor reach out directly to the campaign owner if they are interested in receiving a refund. Although we are unable to refund the contributor's contribution, we have been in touch with this contributor to encourage them to contact the owner of the campaign.
By creating a campaign on Indiegogo, the campaign owner agrees to use funds and fulfill all perks as stated in their campaign. If, for any reason, they are unable to use Contributions as described in their Campaign, they agree to work with the Contributors to reach a mutually satisfactory resolution, which may include refunding their Contributions.

We understand this customer has additional concerns on this matter, as they have not received a refund from the owner of this campaign.
As has previously outlined, Indiegogo is not able to issue this customer a refund for their contribution. Our [redacted] outline:
"Refunds
Contributors may request a refund from Indiegogo before the end of a Campaign here. For Campaigns that have entered the InDemand program, Contributors may request a refund from Indiegogo within 10 days of the contribution, here. Contributions are eligible for a refund by Indiegogo unless (a) the contribution funds have already been transferred to the Campaign Owner, (b) the Perk associated with the contribution has been fulfilled, or (c) Indiegogo determines that there has been an abuse of these Terms of Use. Indiegogo reserves the right to terminate User Accounts and remove Campaigns for any abuse of this refund policy. For Campaigns that have ended, or in situations where the contribution funds have been transferred to the Campaign Owner, Contributors should contact the Campaign Owner directly regarding refunds."
Campaign owners are the party solely responsible for their campaigns, including fulfilling any perks they offered therein. As such, if this customer has questions about the campaign, when they can expect to receive their perks, or would like to receive a refund from this campaign owner, this customer will need to make inquires of the campaign owner, directly. We are unable to mediate this dispute, but have previously provided this customer with the campaign owner's contact information in an effort to facilitate communication.
We wish them the best of luck in arriving at a resolution to their dispute, with the campaign owner.

We understand this customer has additional concerns on this matter.
When a customer files a chargeback, it may take up to 75 days for the credit card companies to resolve a chargeback dispute.  While a chargeback on a given transaction is pending with the credit card companies the transaction is in a temporary ‘hold’ status on Indiegogo. During this time neither the campaign owner nor the backer have the funds- instead they are held pending the decision by the banks.
Indiegogo temporarily holds the funds while they are pending. In this case we do temporarily recommend that the campaign owner not fulfill any perks involved in pending chargebacks. If they were to fulfill the perk while the chargeback was pending, if the chargeback was decided in the backers favor the campaign owner would be out both for the cost of the perk and wouldn’t get the money from the backer to subsidize the cost of the perk.  While we do recommend a campaign owner wait to see the bank’s resolution of the chargeback before fulfilling, if the banks decide in the campaign owner’s favor then the campaign owner is required to fulfill all perks claimed- as outlined in our Terms.
There are two possible outcomes to a chargeback, and we’ve outlined the resolutions and following obligations below:
1.) If the banks decide in the backers favor, then the transaction will be refunded back to the issuing credit card. In this case, the transaction will be removed from Indiegogo, the campaign owner will not fulfill the perks because the backer is no longer a contributor to their campaign and the campaign owner does not have the funds to fulfill the perk.
2.) If the banks decide against the backer, then the transaction will be reinstated on the campaign page. If this is the case, the campaign owner will receive the full funds from the transaction and are obligated to the same responsibilities with this transaction as they are any other, as outlined in our Terms of Use ([redacted])- including fulfilling perks.
If a campaign owner is unable to fulfill perks, our Terms outline:
“If any Campaign Owner is unable to fulfill any of its commitments to Contributors (including delivering any Perks), the Campaign Owner will work with the Contributors to reach a mutually satisfactory resolution, which may include refunding their Contributions. ”
Finally, if this customer’s chargeback has been rejected/decided against this backer, then as previously outlined, the campaign owner is obligated to fulfill the perks claimed by this backer.
We know the bank’s chargeback process is not the most intuitive experience, and we appreciate this customer’s understanding.

We see that the campaign owner has been posting frequent blog posts about the progress of their product development, and we'd encourage this contributor to review them all. Final Business Response /* (4000, 13, 2015/12/28) */
We understand this customer has additional points on this matter. It seems as though they replied to this same complaint which came back to Indiegogo, rather than their intended recipient- that of the owner of the campaign, directly.
To clarify, Indiegogo is a global crowdfunding platform that empowers people to raise funds for the things that matter to them. Our Terms of Use (http://www.indiegogo.com/about/terms) obligates campaign owners to fulfill any promised perks. Perk fulfillment is the full responsibility of the campaign owner, not Indiegogo. Our Terms of Use states,
"Indiegogo is an online crowdfunding venue for people and entities seeking to raise funds for their own Campaigns and to contribute to the Campaigns of others. Campaign Owners can offer gifts or rewards in the form of tangible items or intangible services (collectively, "Perks") to Contributors. Perks are not offered for sale. Indiegogo does not represent that Campaign Owners will deliver Perks or that Contributions will be used as described in the Campaign. Users use the Service at their own risk."
With that said, we have been in contact with this contributor to explain our Terms of Use. We have also shared the campaign owner's contact information with this contributor in an effort to facilitate communication between these two parties. If this customer would like to contact the owner of this campaign, they can do so through the campaign itself, via their own social media, particularly: https://www.facebook.com/[redacted], or via their publicly listed email address: [redacted].com
Regarding this customer's refund request, our records show that this contributor's contribution has already been sent to the campaigner, which means that Indiegogo can no longer issue a refund. However, we do suggest that the contributor feel free to reach out directly to the campaign owner to resolve any perk questions or request a refund.

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:
There is a big difference between a project that has delays, setbacks, or hits issues that prevent the project from moving forward and a full scam. I am not interested in your policies postings and evaluation process, you should do that before you let them on your site. I sent money for a campaign that was setup from the beginning to steal money from people. Indiegogo has no morals if it allows that to happen and then sends out a cut and paste link to a policy.
The Revdex.com has no credibility if a company like this has an A+ rating.
Sincerely,[redacted]

transparent">We understand this customer has not received a perk from a campaign they contributed to, and are now requesting a refund.

Indiegogo is a global crowdfunding platform that empowers people to raise funds for the things that matter to them, and in turn allows backers to help fund ideas they'd like to see come to life.Regarding the perk, as perks are offers made solely by the owner of this campaign, we recommend this backer inquire of the status of their perk, with the campaign owner. We note the campaign owner has been posting updates on their shipping, on their campaign page, here: [redacted] This is the best place to get the latest information on the status of this campaign owner's manufacturing and when they expect to ship out their products.

Regarding this customer's refund request, our records show that this contributor’s contribution has already been sent to the campaigner, which means that a refund can no longer be issued by Indiegogo. Learn more about our refund policy[redacted], and in our Terms of Use, [redacted].

Therefore, we recommend the contributor reach out directly to the campaign owner if they are interested in receiving a refund. Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because: this is the 5th and exact same template-ed response I've got from them in the past upon which I've taken their advise and contact the campaign owner and have NEVER got a response.
I've emailed , phoned and even sent a family member to the campaign owners offices with ZERO response or follow up.
I've tried social media and written to both the campaign owner and the company via [redacted] , [redacted] and [redacted]. NO response. Indiegogo charged my credit card and it is them who provided the service.
I have had my credit card company contact the campaign owner with no luck. My credit card company has even tried getting hold of INDIEGOGO only to receive the same template response.
Amazingly their competition is able to refund people and deals with these issues themselves , they do not pass the buck or make excuses.
Indiegogo has even privately opened a legal suit against this campaign owner but refuses to acknowledge this as it proofs our point , THIS IS FRAUD. The internet is full of comments and blogs on this case , yet indiegogo refuse to acknowledge this fact.
Sincerely,[redacted]

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:
Indiegogo's claims are false, the "Campaigners" in question used "FAKE" Identities to start and continue their campaign.  [redacted] and [redacted] are assumed identities and information in the campaign that a "backer", would use to make a decision is materially false, they DO NOT have 25 years of manufacturing experience, [redacted] DOES NOT have a PHD, [redacted] IS NOT their true COO.  Indiegogo is knowingly allowing this campaign to continue even though there are hundreds of complaints on their site and at least two references to criminal investigations in the campaign comments.
I demand Indiegogo provide truthful information about this campaign, or end it, THEIR TERMS OF USE STATE;
Campaign Owners will respond promptly and truthfully to all questions posed to them by Indiegogo or any Contributor. If any Campaign Owner is unable to fulfill any of its commitments to
Contributors (including delivering any Perks), the Campaign Owner will work with the Contributors to reach a mutually satisfactory resolution, which may include refunding their Contributions.
Campaign Owners will comply with all applicable laws and regulations in the use of Contributions and delivery of Perks. Campaign Owners are responsible for collecting and remitting any taxes on
Contributions, and any taxes due in connection with Perks. Indiegogo may attempt to verify the identity and other information provided to us by Campaign Owners, and we may delay, withhold,
reverse or refund any Contributions or other amounts without notice or liability in the event we are unable to verify any such information to our satisfaction. Campaign Owner eligibility is subject to
Indiegogo’s review of the fulfillment status of prior crowdfunding obligations. Indiegogo reserves the right to prohibit or remove a Campaign if the Campaign Owner is delayed by three months or
more in fulfilling a prior crowdfunding project on Indiegogo or another platform.

-Campaign Owners shall not make any false or misleading statements in connection with their Campaigns.
Wave Electric Bike is delayed more than 3 months and has made false claims.

We understand that this customer is not satisfied with the status of the video they have posted on their campaign page. Indiegogo does not host videos. Instead, all videos listed on campaign pages are hosted on either Vimeo or YouTube. ...

We understand that this customer is dissatisfied that there are advertisements for other videos hosted on the video-hosting site, at the end of their campaign video.
A Indiegogo does not host videos, all ads posted on a video are occurring and controlled by the video-hosting site, not Indiegogo.
We have been in touch with this campaign owner to convey this information, and have prompted them to get in touch with the video-hosting site if they have concerns they wish to convey, about the ads.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 8, 2014/10/27) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
no useful response by I gogo or correction of anything despite much email and att's sent to them.
now my preview function does not work, they added a second video that does not work and I cannot delete (as I be able to delete videos, have been able to do this before, and should be able to do it now,) and last steps to launch cannot occur as they have evaded the issues, and not corrected, and now have added further obstacles, further aggravating the situation and wasting my time, effort, good will, good faith, and resources spent in prepping this launch.

photos and video of much of this retained by me. emails as well.
they need to let the preview function work as it did before, let me delete the unwanted video, not change anything without my consent, and not tamper with the data I have created, and stop adding new obstacles to my getting this done.
they need to call me to discuss and fix all of this.
this is causing me alot of damage, and I am very used to uploading things to youtube and websites, no issue. this is their set of errors and failure to respond correctly and now, their attempts to block and further mess up the functionality of the site and my ability to be in control of my campaign.
I need to have the preview work NOW!!!and have the ability to delete an unwanted video NOW.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 10, 2014/11/05) */
We understand that this customer was not satisfied with our reply.
To address the concerns regarding their video, to reiterate any ads this customer is seeing on their YouTube video occur solely based on YouTubes site Indiegogo does not have control over or access to editing this customer's videos as posted on YouTube. We recommend they get in touch with YouTube directly if they wish to convey their concerns to the appropriate party.
With regard to their preview link, we can confirm this is working as intended and have provided them with the proper URL for them to be able to view the preview of their campaign page. They can also freely edit their campaign without limitations, as it is currently in draft mode.
We have been in touch with this customer regarding their concerns, and to assist them with these issues.

Indiegogo is a global crowdfunding platform that empowers people to raise funds for the things that matter to them. We understand that this campaign owner is concerned about the status of their campaign's disbursement of funds.
Campaign funds...

raised via Direct Credit Card are disbursed within 15 business days of a campaign's deadline, assuming that the bank account information is complete and accurate. This disbursement timeline is clearly outlined during the campaign creation process. Additionally, all disbursement information is outlined in our Help Center: https://support.indiegogo.com/hc/en-us/articles/XXXXXXXXX
Unfortunately, this campaign owner's bank account information was not added to the campaign until well after the campaign's deadline. As such, they can expect the funds to be disbursed within 15 business days of having added the bank account, on June 3, 2015.
While we are unable to waive the fees as per this customer's request, we are happy to let this campaign owner know that their funds have been triggered for disbursement. They should have received an email notification when the funds were disbursed and can also see the status on the Funds tab of their Campaigner Dashboard.
We have also been in contact with the campaign owner directly in order to clarify this process and to assist them in receiving the funds.

If this contributor is experiencing difficulties with the shipping of their perks, we suggest this contributor continue to work with the owner of this campaign to arrive at a mutually agreeable solution. With that said, we have been in contact with this contributor to explain our Terms of Use and clarify any other questions. Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 8, 2015/01/26) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I understand what Indiegogo is, what crowd-funding is, and what customer support is. I'm complaining about the latter. Not once did any of them offer to contract the campaign owner. All they did was exactly what you just did, tell me what crowd-funding is and placed my ticket in "resolved" status. That isn't customer support!
So, while I have received all of my perks now, it wasn't of any thanks to your customer support.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 10, 2015/01/29) */
We appreciate this customer's reply and feedback on Indiegogo's Customer Support.
Indiegogo is unable to moderate contributor/campaigner disputes. Per our Terms of Use, "we may provide the Campaign Owner's contact information to the Contributor so that the two parties may resolve their dispute." It was given this customer's claims of the campaign owner's unresponsiveness that we were able to share the campaign owner's personal contact information with this contributor.
All that said, we are happy to hear that this customer was able to resolve this matter with the appropriate party, the campaign owner, and has since received their perks.

We understand this customer has additional concerns on this matter, as they have not received a refund from the owner of this campaign.
As has previously outlined, Indiegogo is not able to issue this customer a refund for their contribution. Our Terms of Use outline:

At Indiegogo, nurturing a trusted open platform is our top priority. We wish this backer the best of luck in arriving at a resolution to their dispute, with the campaign owner.

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because: Indiegogo is a platform similar to [redacted] and they are not taking the steps to ensure campaigners work with their backers. When there are disputes on [redacted], they will get involved. However, Indiegogo simply connects the two parties and then they remove themselves which is unacceptable. They also do not listen to the backers or hold campaigners accountable. This means Indiegogo is a platform for scammers and they do not protect the consumers.Sincerely,[redacted]

Unfortunately, we have no record of contributions or accounts made from the email address under which this Revdex.com complaint was filed. As such, we are unable to share any further information about the contribution in question.
If this customer has questions about a particular campaign who raised...

funds on Indiegogo, about a specific perk they claimed, or would like to request a refund, the backer will need to contact the campaign owner as the party solely responsible for the campaign and any perks offered. Here are instructions on how to do so: [redacted]
If this customer has specific questions for Indiegogo outside of a campaign inquiry, we encourage this customer to reach out to us, using the email address associated with their Indiegogo account, at[redacted] Completing this form will allow this customer to submit an email to our Customer Happiness Team who will be happy to get back to this customer with answers any additional questions.

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:
My bank has already closed this dispute on their side and I have proof of that. So when you say the bank(s) are still working on a resolution, that really means YOUR bank because after calling my own bank the past 2 months they are no longer working on this dispute. So what is going on there?
I need a detailed explanation and NOT just a "it may take 75 business days for the bank(s) to reach a resolution".

Why and how does it take 75 business days when the dispute is so one sided. Directing me to your chargeback policy in the website doesn't help because it does not answer my question. WHY, WHY, WHY? I need a detailed explanation as to why this is taking so long with NO update from your bank. As previously communicated, by bank has already sent back the money to your bank. Why can't you give your financial institution to inquire about the situation?
Don't just sit around, do something about it.
Sincerely,[redacted]

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because: I have records of emails from RippleBuds Inc that misled me with false information in order to buy some time. This is a dishonest way to conduct business because they know the return policy of Indiegogo. A request for refund was sent to RippleBuds Inc long before they shipped my order. Shipping the order after I had expressed my wish for a refund is yet another dishonest move from RippleBuds Inc as a business. They basically coerce me into buying their products. This is in no way my fault and I simply ask that Indiegogo would intervene, since RippleBuds Inc failed to fulfill their initial promise and provided me with misleading information to delay this process.  Sincerely,[redacted]

Indiegogo is a global crowdfunding platform that empowers people to raise funds for the things that matter to them. It's important to note that contributing to a campaign on Indiegogo is not the same thing as making a purchase in a store....

People can raise money for various things, and be at various stages of their project. Contributors are backing an idea, not purchasing a pre-made project. Like anyone contributing to an early-stage project, you accept the risk that the project might not come to fruition. We have tips on how to evaluate a campaign in our Help Center, as a starting point: http://support.indiegogo.com/entries/XXXXXXXX-how-to-evaluate-a-campaign.
Contributions made through Indiegogo are transactions that take place between the campaign owner, contributor, and payment processor, and are non-refundable by Indiegogo, as stated in our Terms of Use (www.indiegogo.com/about/terms.) Therefore, we recommend the contributor reach out directly to the campaign owner if they are interested in receiving a refund. (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
While I am disappointed in Indiegogo's stance on this I understand their business model. There have been numerous online complaints about the particular campaign and class action law suits are being considered. In the case of other crowdfunding sites such as kickstarter if the campaign owner cannot provide a working prototype within a reasonable time frame kickstarter cancels the campaign and refunds the money directly to the backer. I find this a much more suitable model as the crowd sourcing company takes some responsibilty in protecting the consumer. As always one can vote with one's feet and choose not to use a particular crowd sourcing company in the future which is what I intend to do. Thank you very much
