We understand this customer has additional concerns on this matter, as they have not received a refund from the owner of this campaign.
As has previously outlined, Indiegogo is not able to issue this customer a refund for their contribution. Our Terms of Use outline:
"Refunds
Contributors may request a refund from Indiegogo before the end of a Campaign here. For Campaigns that have entered the InDemand program, Contributors may request a refund from Indiegogo within 10 days of the contribution, here. Contributions are eligible for a refund by Indiegogo unless (a) the contribution funds have already been transferred to the Campaign Owner, (b) the Perk associated with the contribution has been fulfilled, or (c) Indiegogo determines that there has been an abuse of these Terms of Use. Indiegogo reserves the right to terminate User Accounts and remove Campaigns for any abuse of this refund policy. For Campaigns that have ended, or in situations where the contribution funds have been transferred to the Campaign Owner, Contributors should contact the Campaign Owner directly regarding refunds."
Campaign owners are the party solely responsible for their campaigns, including fulfilling any perks they offered therein. As such, if this customer has questions about the campaign, when they can expect to receive their perks, or would like to receive a refund from this campaign owner, this customer will need to make inquires of the campaign owner, directly.

We are unable to mediate this dispute, but have previously provided this customer with the campaign owner's contact information, including their email address in addition to social media accounts, in an effort to facilitate communication.
We wish them the best of luck in arriving at a resolution to their dispute, with the campaign owner.

Indiegogo is a global crowdfunding platform which empowers people to raise funds for the things that matter to them. Contributions made through Indiegogo are transactions that take place between the campaign owner, contributor, and...

payment processor, and are non-refundable by Indiegogo, as stated in our Terms of Use posted at www.indiegogo.com/about/terms. Therefore, we recommend the contributor reach out directly to the campaign owner if they are interested in receiving a refund. Although we are unable to refund the contributor's contribution, we have been in touch with this contributor and have shared how the contributor can get in touch with the campaign owner, in an effort to facilitate communication.
By creating a campaign on Indiegogo, the campaign owner agrees to use funds and fulfill all perks as stated in their campaign. If, for any reason, they are unable to use Contributions as described in their Campaign, they agree to work with the Contributors to reach a mutually satisfactory resolution, which may include refunding their Contributions.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 9, 2015/02/18) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
When I THOUGHT I was purchasing a product I was redirected to a site that asked for my personal info, INCLUDING MY CREDIT CARD NUMBER. After I entered my info it said I was contributing to the campaign and NOT PURCHASING THE PRODUCT. Bommy said that I may not even receive the product. So I explained that this was a misrepresentation and I would like a refund. I don't have extra money to contribute to a campaign. He said I couldn't get a refund. I asked what kind of business is he running and all reputable companies give refunds...especially to people who are misinformed about purchasing a product vs funding a campaign. In all my years purchasing online, I NEVER had a problem with a company. If there was a dispute, I was issued a credit. I don't see why there is a problem receiving a credit for $109. The company has my credit card info and it only took them two seconds to draw from my account. Why is it taking so long to refund it?
Additionally, my credit card company told me this was a nefarious way of conducting business because it redirected me to another site where I had to enter my personal info,..a site that was different from a sales site.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 12, 2015/02/22) */
We understand that this customer has follow-up comments regarding this complaint.
To address their concerns surrounding our platform, Indiegogo outlines to contributors that they are not making a purchase and are instead contributing to a work-in-progress project or idea. Before a contributor completes their transaction they are notified of the following: "By clicking 'Continue', you acknowledge that you understand that you are contributing to a work-in-progress and not making a direct purchase. Perks are managed by the campaigners and cannot be guaranteed by Indiegogo. Your click also acknowledges that you agree to the Indiegogo Terms of Use."
It sounds like this contributor was directed to our platform from another website, and they have concerns surrounding how a potential contribution to this campaign was messaged on that other site. If this is the case, we'd recommend they convey their concerns to the owner of that site. Indiegogo does not maintain sites other than our own, and cannot speak to how they message their sales, contributions, transactions etc.
That said,Indiegogo is not able to issue refunds for contributions made to campaigns. Instead as is outlined in our Terms of Use (www.indiegogo.com/about/terms), the campaign owner who is the recipient of the funds would issue any refunds. We have previously outlined this both via this Revdex.com complaint, and in correspondence directly with this customer.
We have been in touch with this customer and have provided them with the contact information of the campaigner so that they may request a refund from the owner of the campaign, directly.
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 14, 2015/02/24) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The campaign owner, LENA SOLIS, said the campaign will last an extra 30 days. Does that mean I won't get my refund until 15 days after that?
To be a reputable company, you must issue refund to people who are unaware of the policies. That is only wise business acumen ND NOT GREED! A greedy company will never last. Be aboveboard with people and you will have good luck. I feel like I was royally scr@wed!

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:
Indiegogo states that they have given the campaign owner's contact information so backers can contact the Bioring owners to try and get their money back.  The only contact information I received was an email address.  When I sent an email to bioring the email came back as undelivered.  I have asked for valid contact information many times and have not received anything except this invalid email.  Therefore Indiegogo has not fullfilled what they said they would do.  I would like a full refund of my $219.  Also indiegogo should state in larger verbiage on their site that they are not responsible for a company not fulfilling their orders, and mention the risks in large type on the first page of all campaigns.  Again I would like to know if Indiegogo has taken and kept any fees from Bioring's original campaign's money? Has Indiegogo also been scammed out of money from this company?  Have they started a law suit on behalf of their loyal backers who help make them successful?
Sincerely,[redacted]

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2015/07/29) */
We understand the campaign owner's concern and frustration in the disbursement of their funds. Campaign funds are typically disbursed within 15 business days of a campaign's deadline, assuming that the bank account information is complete...

and accurate. It is possible however, for delays to occur due to incomplete or invalid bank account information. Such delays as this are outlined in our Help Center: http://support.indiegogo.com/entries/XXXXXXXX-disbursements-when-do-i-get-my-mon...
In the campaign owner's particular case, the funds were triggered for disbursement to the campaign owner's bank account within this time period. However, the disbursements were returned due to invalid or incorrect bank account information. We are typically notified within 5 - 9 days after the disbursement date, at which point we will ask the campaign owner to re-submit their bank account information. Once the campaign owner has updated their bank account information, we attempt to disburse their funds again in the following week's disbursement round.
We apologize for any misunderstanding regarding the bank account validation and disbursement process. Although we can help filter for the accuracy of some of the bank account information entered, such as with the formatting of the information entered, we are not able to validate that the information except by sending funds to the specified account information the campaign owner provides.
We have been in contact with the campaign owner directly in order to facilitate the disbursement of their funds as quickly as possible. We appreciate the campaign owner's feedback and cooperation.

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is agreeable to me. Even though the company had s lot of incorrect information in their response. Such as no updates have been posted since 6/15/17. I filed a complaint with the maker of the product. Sincerely, [redacted]

Indiegogo provides an open crowdfunding platform permitting funds to be raised for a wide range of projects in accordance with our Terms of Use (www.indiegogo.com/about/terms). Campaigns are run by their individual campaign owner's and...

not by Indiegogo. Indiegogo does not manage campaigns, nor does Indiegogo offer perks. Instead, all perks are offers made by Campaign Owners, and we recommend to any contributor who has questions about a campaign's offerings that make inquires of the campaign owner.
People can raise money for various things, and be at various stages of their project. Contributors are backing an idea, not purchasing a pre-made project. Like anyone contributing to an early-stage project, you accept the risk that the project might not come to fruition. Again, Indiegogo does not make claims or verify that a "campaign owner will deliver perks or that contributions will be used as described on the campaign." The decision to contribute to any campaign is in the sole determination of the contributor and their evaluation of the campaign, not Indiegogo. We recommend that each contributor go through their own vetting process before they decide to contribute. We have compiled a list of how to evaluate a campaign, as a good starting point: https://support.indiegogo.com/hc/en-us/articles/XXXXXX-How-to-Evaluate-a-Campaig... /> Regarding this customer's refund request, our records show that this contributor's contribution has already been sent to the campaigner, which means that Indiegogo can no longer issue a refund. Therefore, we recommend the contributor reach out directly to the campaign owner if they are interested in receiving a refund, or to arrive at a resolution to this matter. Thank you for your response. While I understand your position, we have reached out several times to Revobot for their support and have received nothing in return. We were asked to supply them with a video of the issues that the board was having and promptly did so. In return, to date, and over a month went by and we have still received nothing. There is no phone number available to speak with anyone, just an email for a rep named Julia ("[redacted]" ) who no longer, I guess, wishes to return multiple emails (i can supply copies of all emails sent). I am asking you, to please help me with this situation and at least give me a name, TELEPHONE NUMBER, fax number or something to contract the person in charge. I feel that although Indiegogo claims no responsibility, that they should at least help me to find the upper echelons of this unethical company Revobot, or put me in contact with someone in authority to satisfy a commitment made and paid for through your company. This situation needs to be rectified and needs all parties involved weather directly or indirectly to uphold and heed their responsibilities to solve this transaction nightmare gone bad.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/07/29) */
We understand this customer has a question about a campaign which raised funds on Indiegogo.
Indiegogo is a global crowdfunding platform which empowers people to raise funds for the things that matter to them, and in turn allows...

contributors to help fund ideas they'd like to help bring to life. Campaign owner's often offer perks (goods, services, etc.) in exchange for contributions to their campaign.
Campaigns are run by their respective owners, and perks are offers made solely by the campaign owner- not by Indiegogo. As such, Indiegogo is not able to guarantee that perks will be delivered or deemed satisfactory. The nature of crowdfunding is such that campaigns on Indiegogo are raising funds for work-in-progress projects, ideas, or causes. Contributing to a campaign and claiming a perk on Indiegogo is not the same as buying something online. Like anyone getting in on an early-stage project, contributors accept the risk that the project may experiences changes, delays, unforeseen challenges, and it's possible that a project they fund might not come to fruition.
We see that the owner of this campaign has been communicating with their contributors regarding the status of their project, as well as roadblocks they are encountering, and what steps they are taking. We encourage this contributor to review the campaign's updates tab (https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/wave-electric-28-mph-bike#/updates) for the most up-to-date information from the campaign owner, directly.
Because contributions made through Indiegogo are transactions that take place between the campaign owner, contributor, and payment processor, we are unable to issue a refund to this contributor. However, we do suggest that the contributor feel free to reach out directly to the campaign owner to resolve any perk questions or request a refund.
We have been in touch with this contributor to outline this information.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/08/03) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
My account was debited TO INDIEGOGO not any campaign owners,So Indiegogo along with any "Campaign Owners" Have entered into contract with me.
You Indiegogo accepted my deposit and monies for perks for a specific item being made. After this item was made An e-mail was sent to me requesting the balance of the monies including shipping. The e-mail also stated the bike will not perform as advertised at the time YOU ACCEPTED MY DEPOSIT.
This is my problem with this contract sales. I should have been informed the bike was not to specification earlier.
In the eyes of the law this is a simple contract sale, you may call it what you want,You or your Campaign owners cannot take monies and not deliver the said product or change product right before shipping. I have asked for one of two things: 1. bill me and send me the bike advertised
THE DAY YOU TOOK THE DEPOSIT or 2.Refund my $279.00.
I have tried e-mailing your Campaign Owners Aaron Brady and Justin Brasmit many time both though your website and their own website I have never received a response.I will further my Complaints.

Campaign Owners can offer gifts or rewards in the form of tangible items or intangible services (collectively, "Perks") to Contributors. Perks are not offered for sale. Again, If I have an issue with one of your "artists" which I have tried to "reach out to directly" many times and will not communicate with me.You as the "crowdfunding Venue" who has accepted my monies into YOUR account and will not facilitate any type of assistance with resolving issues by hiding behind your "terms of use" policy.
We as people funding projects have to right to disagree and have some type of dialogue with both you and the Campaign owners But Obliviously we don't.You simply cannot take someone's money and then turn your back on them when an issue comes up.You must provide some type of mediation even if just a phone number here you have taken my money not provided nothing not even a good explanation.
I will continue my efforts until I get a satisfactory answer.

I not accept the response. Why:
Because I said, I sent money to Indiegogo not for compaingn!!

I sent the money to you !!!! I have the evidence! the proof What do you do then with him, it is another matter.
If you send all the money at once for the Company, it is a mistake that you have done.
You should sending the money, as they will need investment and should be your responsibility to manage all investment and application of money.
I suggest you change your procedures.
If in the few times did not receive my REAL money, I will try also court and say that the problems are start with you, and can tell the world that anybody can trusted in you.

Answer this questions:
1.º The money was sent to you or not?
(do not forget that email in paypal is yours...)
2.º From this money I sent, all are given to campaign?
If not, what is the percentage?
thanks

Thank you. I have responded to bogus reply the business gave, and will keep this matter unresolved until I get a refund. Although I understand it is my job to call [redacted] directly, it is my hope now that you have seen how many complaints that have come through on this company to refer the case in its entirety to them, [redacted].

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because: regardless of being a crowdfunding company, indiegogo is a corporation that recieves payment from paying customers.  Not being responsible for customers and their satisfaction is absurd.Sincerely,[redacted]

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:

Indiegogo has facilitated the THEFT of $2 MILLION  by this campaigner. They can and will cite the legalese they hide behind, but the fact remains they have created an unvetted environment that allows and even encourages this sort of thing. Sincerely,[redacted]

I spent a lot of money 8for me) into usb cables zaptip. zaptips are now half a year overdue. my credit card company says, there is nothing to do after more than 2 months, indiegogo assures me of their support and denies to be able to do anything (the money was transferred to zaptip), zaptip makes cryptic updates about "problems" (no joke, they dont specify them anymore), cables like zaptip are available via amazon.
so there is a no possibility left situation, indiegogo supports an evident scam and advertises in its emails a little bit more. the zaptip company could have bought the cables on amazon and send them to the customers, would have got a lot of money, still. but they seem to have decided to get all the cash and dont deliver at all.
I cannot exclaim, how disappointed I am about the meaningless, advertising-full emails I got of indiegogo.
additionally, at indiegogo there are more or less 2 other project by the same company, and at least two others who just dont deliver, any complaint or refund request (mentioned in the forum) is answered with a smiling advertising joke and gets rejected by indiegogo!
in europe, something like this wouldnt be possible!
