Deckorators Design & Build is working with the customer to finish all aspects of the job as quickly as possible.Erica P[redacted]

deck and patio were finally completed to our satisfaction, although many months late. The quality of the work was excellent. The revised contract agreement was that I would provide feedback to the Revdex.com regarding the contractor's resolution to our original concerns about being very late with doing the work, if we were happy with the work once completed. Our contract amendment reflected a revised completion date and a 10% discount off the original price because of the delay. Let me know if you need any further details.[redacted]Regards,[redacted]

We are replacing the 1-2 pavers that need it as soon as we are in the area to address.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted]. Yesterday, we...

received and deposited a cashier's check covering the full amount of the deposit which we wanted returned. We have agreed to take no further action against Deckorators Design and Build LLC, with reference to the contract we signed with them 10 months ago.
Thank you for your assistance in helping to resolve this matter.

Deckorators Design & Build will mail out a check for the requested $131.87 to close the issue and send someone to replace the light bulb in the next few weeks. As for the electrical, we never contracted to do any electrical or hot tub installation. We are not licensed to do so and never...

offered those services.

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
My complaint remains unaddressed by Deckorators and we have lost
complete trust and confidence that Deckorators can provide the product stated in
the contract and request refund of our deposit.
Since May 2014 Deckorators has failed to communicate with us and provide us the
services contracted for, meanwhile retaining our deposit  ($21,831.00).
In late September 2014 I made phone call to Jon P[redacted]
and  Deckorators informing him that we
were going to cancel the project and requested the return of our deposit.  Upon hearing no response we followed up with
a letter (registered mail) and it was returned.
It was at this point we logged our complaint with the RevDex.com 15 Oct 14 stating that we wanted return of our deposit
($21,831.00).  Nothing was heard until 21
Nov 14 when a note to **. [redacted] (Revdex.com) was received from Erica P[redacted] stating
“  We are
currently working with the customer, [redacted] to resolve this issue. Thank you”.  We had heard nothing from Deckorators since
late May 2014 until this time.
I quickly contacted Revdex.com and informed **.
[redacted] that I had heard nothing from Deckorators.  I called Deckorators and requested to speak
to Erica P[redacted], Debbie informed me that she was unavailable and would pass on
the message. The first communication from Deckorators since May 2014 is Jon
P[redacted]’s  e-mail (See Attached).  I responded quickly and later followed up
leaving a phone message with Deckorators.
Regards,
[redacted]

Im not sure where to
begin. First I want to apologize for the extended
delay in getting your project completed. We have dealt with a lot of
changes, bad weather, sickness etc. The crew who I had slated to build
your project that was with me for years took off right before he started
your project after we met that day.  I
have tried to squeeze you in the
schedule multiple times but I want one of my seasoned master carpenter
crews on your job. The bottom line is I have the material paid for and
ready to deliver.  I have a crew ready to
get started the 1st week in
December and it will probably only take 1 week to complete.
Unfortunately I cant refund the deposit and cancel the job because I
used it to purchase all of your [redacted] material,[redacted],and lumber. I
would like the opportunity to regain your confidence and trust and do a
great job for you. I will also look into the numbers and try to
compensate you for the delay and most of all the headache. Please let me
know if we can move forward and get this project out of the way.
Regards,
Jon

Business is done on trust.  Your lack of communications contributes to the
lack of trust you have earned.
I will be posting my response on the Revdex.com site this evening and will move
forward to resolve this issue.  Full refund of our deposit $21,831.00 is
the first action.
I understand your business challenges, but trust must be re-established and
along with my complete confidence that your business still has the expertise
you stated when the contract since you state ".....The crew who I had slated to build your project that was with me
for years took off right before he started your project after we met that
day."The bottom line is your failure to communicate
and follow through continues to erode my trust in continuing to conduct
business with Deckorators.Regards[redacted]

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: the response given by Deckorators is incomplete (lacks dates and discount percentage) and is misleading.
Response I received was:
"It looks like we're finally ready to start your project. The weather has been so bad I never thought we would catch up! I have a crew assigned and ready to start next Monday. It should take them about a week. I will be have te permit and plans dropped off and keep you posted on the material delivery. Thanks again for your patience and I will be issuing a discount for the delay and headache!"
Note that Deckortaors have been non-responsive to numerous requests for status (letters/email on 12/15/2014, 1/8/2015, 1/22/2015)  and responded outside of the 30 day window for the Revdex.com. The communication above was received AFTER they posted to the Revdex.com site saying they had been in contact.  It has been 118 days since permits/plans have been approved.  92 days since they stated materials were bought (via email). 84 days since their last communication prior to 3/9/2015.  This is all well documented.  If they were to start next week they would be 204 days overdue from their projected finish date.
The move to declare their abandoned of this project is imminent.  I ask that they provide the percentage discount and hard project dates (start/material delivery/end date) so I can consider my next course of action.
A prompt, professional response from Deckorators would be appreciated.

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: that is a lie. He sat in my kitchen  and told me that he would come back out to paint once the wood cured. I have been trying to reach that man since May via phone messages, email and leaving messages with his office. He could have resolved this issue by simply returning my call in May and explaining this to me. Instead he waited until The day I filed this complaint to call me.  I hired someone to paint only this week because it needed to be done In accordance with HOA rules. I expect nothing from him. I want nothing from him. Replacing screen will not bankrupt me. I wish him and his business all the best.
