I am rejecting this response because:?Please be advised that the above-referenced complaint is not fully resolved to date. Deckorator's offered to make a full refund in two payments.  We received a 50% refund with a promise that the remaining 50% would be received by Tuesday, Sept. 30.  To date, we have not received the balance of $4,700 and had no communication from Deckorators concerning non-payment until we called three times and finally spoke with Erica on the third call.  She said payment would be received today, October 3, if checks cleared at her bank.  This did not occur.

We did not respond to Revdex.com inquiry regarding acceptance or rejection of Deckorators' offer of resolution because we wanted to give them an opportunity to make the two payments within a 2-week period.  As noted above, this did not happen and we will not consider this complaint resolved until final payment is made by Deckorators.   We are requesting that Revdex.com not consider this matter closed until we receive final payment.

Please let us know if you need additional information.

We are contacting the customer with a plan to complete project in a timely manner. We hit some unavoidable delays in our business and are doing everything we can to fix the problems and resume work.

To Whom It May Concern,
We have spoken to the customer and explained to her, as we explained at the initial contract signing, the wood needed to cure and that she would need to schedule the painting after roughly 3-4 months for the lumber to dry, since it is all pressure...

treated lumber.  We offered a recommendation for someone she could call about the painting. She then hired her own painter to come out and they removed all of her porch screening to do so. We never contracted with the customer to paint as we do not offer it as a service. The porch painting is currently in progress with the company she hired. There is no refund available because she never paid or contracted with us in regard to the paint.Erica P[redacted]

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
Since the original complaint was filed I have sent an additional email on 1/2/14 & followed up with a phone call to the owner, Jon P[redacted], later that same day.  I have not received a reply to my email nor have I received a return phone call from Mr. P[redacted]. Their claim that they are currently in communication with me is erroneous as I have received no communication from them at all.

After entering into a contract with Deckorators Design & Build, we went to [redacted] County to pull the permits. Due to the proposed placement of the deck over an existing garage the county asked for specified building plans. Our Draft Designer went and met with the daughter of [redacted], took...

measurements and we again submitted plans. [redacted] County then asked for the existing structural plans for the garage roof. We went back to [redacted] explaining this and asked if they could request the plans from the builder. At that point, [redacted] met with another contractor who had done similar work and told him to use an entirely different scope of material than we, Deckorators use. We, Deckorators  explained to [redacted] we had never used those materials before and that if he wanted to go with the other contractor we would allow for cancellation. However, the deposit was spent on the specified materials from the contract, as well as, our Draft Designer, permit runner, permit applications and administrative fees. We explained we needed to first apply for refund on the cancelled materials and would refund his deposit upon on recoup of monies spent. We will refund the customer deducting only the nominal fees we cannot reclaim as soon as we have it in hand.

Jon Parsons and company are out to get as much business as possible and not actually deliver on any of it. We were under contract with them with a completion date of 4 weeks after we broke ground. It took 13 months. Most of the time I got responses from Jon saying "Sorry, I've been on vacation" when he wouldn't get back to me for months at a time.

The quality of the work was subpar all around. I still have a leak in my roof and they refuse to return any of my calls or emails asking for them to honor their warranty.

They've recently changed their company name to avoid the bad press they've recently had. See the link below

Review: Promised to return to paint. Told the wood had to cure first before painting. Will not return my calls, screen has to be cut out to get the painting done, resulting in additional cost to me. Numerous phone calls made to office and cell phone. will not return my calls.Desired Settlement: Pay for replacing screen and other additional work required resulting from the original job,

I am rejecting this response because: that is a lie. He sat in my kitchen and told me that he would come back out to paint once the wood cured. I have been trying to reach that man since May via phone messages, email and leaving messages with his office. He could have resolved this issue by simply returning my call in May and explaining this to me. Instead he waited until The day I filed this complaint to call me. I hired someone to paint only this week because it needed to be done In accordance with HOA rules. I expect nothing from him. I want nothing from him. Replacing screen will not bankrupt me. I wish him and his business all the best.

Regards,

Review: Contract signed in late May. Stated project to be completed in June. Thus far there has been no progress with project. Numerous calls gave been made and there is absolutely no follow-through from company. Was told a month ago that job would be done within a week to week and half timeframe. So far have seen no one from company nor has the job been done. A substantial down payment was required which was paid in good faith. This company seems to have little interest in working with their clients. If I do not hear from them before the end of the month I will also notify the homeowners association of their non compliance and non response.Desired Settlement: I would like the job contracted for done. I feel that I have been patient for almost three months and want completion of this job. If they are not able to do the job for some reason I would like a total refund of monies paid.

I wish to let you know that the above mentioned complaint against Deckoraors has been satisfactorily completed. The walkway was completed on 8/30/2014 to my satisfaction. Please close the complaint record against this company.

Review: On March 12, 2015 I signed a contract for a pergola to be built on my existing patio. The estimated start date for this project was April 2015, and the estimated completion date was between May 1 and 15, 2015. The design for the pergola was approved by my HOA's architectural committee on April 6, 2015. Pursuant to the plan being approved by the HOA, construction was supposed to be started within two weeks. At the end of April, I was able to get a hold of Debbie C[redacted]. She informed me that the contractors were "a couple of weeks behind schedule." Since that last contact, every time I call the company the phone rings and rings and rings during business hours. The phone goes to voice mail. I leave messages, but my calls are never returned. At this point, the contract completion is overdue, and I have no confidence in this company.Desired Settlement: Finish the job, or give me a FULL refund of my downpayment.

Regards,

Review: We signed a contract in late June for replacement of our deck planking and upgrade to deck stairs with [redacted] with work due to commence in 2-4 weeks. The contract work has still not been performed and we have had great difficulty getting responses to our emails and calls. More than four months of delays to have the work performed is unreasonable. Their most recent response is shown (email of Fri 10/17/2014 7:16 PM).

[redacted],

Im sorry for the delay,we continue to get slowed down with rain, this week was a great example. However you are in the next round of jobs that we will be starting late next week early the following. All of your [redacted] has been paid for and I will set it up for delivery to get this going for you. Again, sorry for the delay but I don't use subs when we get behind or busy like most companies. We have dedicated crews that I keep busy year round and sometimes it takes a little longer but definitely worth the wait! I will keep you posted next week on our progress and a start date.

Regards,

Jon

Since that time it has been crickets with no start date for the work still established. I have had to initiate all contacts; they have not kept us informed and have been nonresponsive or evasive in their replies on when work will begin per our contract. I sent another email on 10 Nov stating I'd learned they've had six service complaints filed with Revdex.com since August and again asking when the work would begin - no response at all. This is why I'm now compelled to file this complaint.Desired Settlement: We'd like the work to be completed as contracted for. Alternately, we'd like to be either reimbursed for the materials or have them deliver the materials if they are not going to perform the work.

I am rejecting this response because Deckorators has still not contacted me concerning a start date. Upon start of the project, I will close the complaint. I am fearful they are preparing for bankruptcy. Were the other six complaints administratively closed or did their work finally get accomplished.

Review: Company has failed to provide services as contracted despite requesting and collecting a large down payment. Company is actively avoiding customer's requests to complete work. The customer signed a contract for a paver patio, steps, and walkway and flower beds on March 21, 2014. The company cashed a 45% deposit on March25, 2014. The contract estimated the completion date as June 15, 2014. There have been two voice mails left for the customer since November 18, 2014 by the business manager. One voice mail left on the customer's home phone explained that he could not make a pre-arranged on-site appointment. The customer had left work using vacation time to make this meeting. Common courtesy would have been to call the customer's cell phone before noon so that the customer would not have un-necessarily missed an afternoon of work. Communication with the business manager has been sproadic. On November 23, 2014 the customer was promised via e-mail that the job would be completed by early December, 2014 but as of December 5, 2014 work has yet to begin. Again, services have yet to be provided what-so-ever for this contract.Desired Settlement: The customer would like the patio and related contracted jobs to be completed by March 15, 2015 and no later, with the remainder of the balance paid only upon completion of the job and all related demo, haul away and clean-up. The customer wants the job performed outside of freezing weather conditions. To date, absolutely no services have been started for this contract and the company has violated their contractual agreement to complete the job last June, 2014 (6 months overdue). If the company does not agree to have the job completed by March 15, 2014 with all remaining balances paid at the completion of the job, the customer requests the contract be dissolved in its entirety with the 45% down payment returned in full to the customer.
