Intelius customers are presented with a two tier pricing structure when purchasing reports on the Intelius website.  They have the option of paying the full price, or a discounted promotional price which includes a 7-Day Pass of the Intelius Premier Plus Membership.  When a customer...

selects the promotional price, they are presented the benefits of the membership and the terms and conditions of the offer, including billing.  By choosing to proceed with the purchase at the promotional price, the customer agrees to the terms and conditions of the promotional offer.In this case, the promotional offer was accepted and the Intelius Premier Plus 7-Day Pass was activated.  Through this promotion, regardless if a customer keeps the membership active for seven days or an entire month, the first charge is charged on the seventh day.  If a customer decides to keep the membership active for consecutive months, then the customer is billed the same day each month in accordance with the original enrollment date.  Since Mr. [redacted] did not cancel the Intelius Premier Plus Membership within one month from the original enrollment date, he was billed for a second month.The Intelius Premier Plus Membership was canceled on 1/31/2016 and a refund was issued for $29.95 on 2/4/2016.  The refund will appear on Mr. [redacted] statement in one of the next two billing cycles, depending on the closing date.  No future membership charges will occur. If Mr. [redacted] has any billing questions in the future, he may contact our Customer Care TOLL FREE at (888) 445-2727.  We are open from 5:00am to 6:00pm PST Monday through Friday and Saturday and Sunday from 6:00am to 4:00pm PST.  We’ll be happy to answer his questions when he calls.We appreciate your cooperation in resolving this matter and apologize for any inconvenience.

Gentlefolk--Regarding a recent complaint I filed against the Intelius background-check service, I wish to reply that the complaint has been resolved to my satisfaction and I have no further grievance against the company, but have been unable to convey this using your website.My only further comment is to protest the common practice of many online retailers to rely on ‘bait-and-switch’ tactics to offer a sample product and automatically enroll the customer in a subscription with automatic monthly charges, without clear notification of this ploy.Can you do anything to discourage this, at least with otherwise responsible companies like Intelius?Thank you for your excellent handling of this complaint.Sincerely,[redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:  I  have  not authorized  any business with Intelius, no matter what findings they say we're found since 2005.  I  have no further need to communicate with this company, the customer loses all the time no matter what.  Thank you Revdex.com for your help in this matter, even though I lost my money.

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because: The business is talking about something that happened 10 years ago and for which I was not billed directly from the company. It makes no sense. If I receive a charge back, I contact the client and ask for an explanation. I do not simply refuse, I cannot even if I wanted to, stop working on that matter. Further, I would like to see what was the, "report" from 10 years ago and the time frame. My credit score when last reviewed is over 800, I pay my bills unless there is some problem with the merchandise. Cannot understand this response from the merchant. I best guess would be that the,"report" came late,. This is the only reason I can imagine for not paying for it, and I would have notified the merchaht of my reason for refusing. Sincerely,[redacted]

Complaint# [redacted] Consumer: [redacted]   We are in receipt of the additional correspondence from Ms. [redacted].   As stated in our earlier response, we did not find any evidence of fraud in our internal investigation. The refunds that were provided to Mr. [redacted]’s card were a courtesy which we were not obligated to provide and no additional refunds will be issued.   Intelius is willing to provide assistance in the event a law enforcement agency contacts us in regards to an ongoing investigation. As requested, the Intelius Premier Plus Membership was canceled on 2/10/2016 and the pending charge of $29.95 was canceled on 2/12/2016.  This will reflect on Mr. [redacted] statement in one of the next two billing cycles, depending on the closing date.  Mr. [redacted] will only be charged $0.95 for the People Search Report.  No future membership charges will occur.We appreciate your cooperation in resolving this matter and apologize for any inconvenience.

We have removed the requested information from the Intelius database, as well as affiliated sites.We recommend Mr. [redacted] review our privacy policy located on the Intelius website at https://www.intelius.com/privacy.php.Google.com is not our site so we have no direct control over the information appearing in their search results.  We have submitted a removal request on Mr. [redacted]’s behalf to Google.com to remove the link he provided.  We have also added the Intelius URL to a robots.txt file which should prevent Google.com from showing the listing in the future.Additionally, it is important to remember that the procedure to opt out is temporary.  Intelius is constantly updating their database with new public records.  It is possible that an individual may need to resubmit a request to opt out for any new records that may have been added to our database since their last opt out request.  While we are unable to anticipate how, when, or if information will reappear on our site, we will be more than happy to remove an individual’s information upon request.  We appreciate your cooperation in resolving this issue and apologize for any inconvenience.

I am rejecting this response because like I have stated before I went to the bank so they could cancel my card and shred it since I did not make this purchase. I have explained this to the multiple representatives that I have spoke to including the Supervisor Damian that I was transferred too. I asked how it's possible that they were able to refund 4 of the charges and not the rest. I received the same response that they would investigate it and when I asked how long this investigation would take I would receive the same response with an apology and that they did not how long it would take.

public information website.  The information we provide is gathered from selected public records and publicly available information via local, state, federal and other agencies. This data is compiled into a comprehensive public record search that Intelius maintains with active updates from its sources.
 
Per the Terms of Service, Intelius has a no refund policy, however, as a matter of customer courtesy, a customer care agent provided a refund of the three searches Ms. [redacted] performed on October 3, 2016 as well as a refund of the Intelius Premier Plus Membership fees in the total amount of $109.80. Ms. [redacted] should note this refund on her account within the next 30 to 60 days depending on her financial institution’s billing cycle.

If Ms. [redacted] is still seeing her name appearing within [redacted] search results pages, it means that while Ms. [redacted]’s information was still in our systems, [redacted] indexed and cached the public results pages of the Intelius website. In order for the content to be removed from [redacted] search results, [redacted] will need to re-index these webpages and update the information they have cached. When and how often these pages are re-indexed is beyond our control and is based on [redacted] internal policies and algorithms.
