Review: I ordered a Cd that was advertised by the Pimsleur Approach on the internet to learn some spanish words in a timely mannerWhen trying to complete the order, their site kept trying to get me to also order a more expensive and comprehensive set of CdsI kept rejecting their sale approach for these additional Cds as I attempted to complete my order for the $introduction CdsLast week, I received the first issue of the more expensive and comprehensive sets of CdsI immediately contacted the Internet Order LLC company representing the Pimsleur Approach Company on ###-###-#### to complain about the receipt of these Cds and to arrange for them to be returned and that no other sets be forwarded to me as well as instructing them not to charge my credit cardThe rep kept pushing to get me to keep the set of Cds and I kept telling the rep that I initially didn't want them and I don't want them nowHe became very belligerent and confrontationalAfter several minutes of going back and forth on my request that these Cds be returned, the rep told me to mail them backI told the rep that I wasn't going to spend my money on shipping cost when I didn't order these items and that I made this cleared during my ordering of the $special CdsThe rep became rude and told me that I should pay for it because after all I got a good deal on the $specialAfter standing my ground that I wasn't going to pay for return shipping, he gave me a return authorization no: R-###-###-####[redacted] and said that they will send a return label in daysIt has now been over days and I still do not have the return shipping labelI've been sending emails and all I get from them is a case number: [redacted].Desired Settlement: Have the company forward the return shipping label so that I can return this productI want to also make sure that the company does not try to charge my credit card for this item that I did not want to receiveTheir sales approach is borderline "bait and switch."

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me
Regards,

Review: Pimsleur Approach sent me a product which I did not order. I never opened the box thinking it is just a sample product. This week, I received a note saying that I owe the company $256.I called [redacted] to tel them that I never ordered the product, and I never opened the box. I told the company that I will be mailing back the product. The company, Pimsleur Approach told me that I have to pay for the product and that I should expect a letter from the collection agency. The company is a fraud.Desired Settlement: Pimsleur Approach should not charge me $256 and accept the unordered return products that the company delivered at my home. The company should not send a collection notice because I did not order the $256 product. Pimsleur Approach should take off my name on their database for further delivery of their unordered products. The company is not trustworthy and they are a fraud, they should have business integrity and ethics, if they are allowed to deal with consumers.

Review: I ordered a $9.95 disc, and when inquiring about additional material availability, the website said those materials were not available at that time. I thought that was the end of my dealings with Internet Orders, LLC (Stroll). After a vacation I found two boxes with additional CDs and a letter demanding payment, because the card I used to pay for the original CD had been cancelled, and they had unsuccessfully tried to charge it. Even though I had no notice that the additional discs were going to be sent, and not being available to respond to the insert in each box explaining how if I didn't call to cancel they would continue charging my credit card, I was unable to return them to Internet Orders, LLC using their system since the "trial period" had expired.

The original internet advertisement did not clearly state that I would automatically be enrolled in a subscription scheme. I honestly thought that I was only purchasing ONE disc for $9.95 ONLY. Even if there is small print somewhere that Internet Orders, LLC's methods technically legal, their tactic of luring people in with an offer too good to be true, although effective from their point of view, is, however, VERY deceptive and misleading to the customer.

I tried to resolve this today by calling the number for returns, but they would not accept any explanation from me, even though I offered to return the unopened and unused materials. Internet Orders, LLC's (Stroll's) business practices should be given closer scrutiny, as they are not upfront with their customers.Desired Settlement: Allow me to return the unused materials and refund or credit me for their cost to me, and do not send me any more material Internet Orders, LLC intends to charge me for in the future.

Review: Over a year ago, my husband and I ordered a $10.00 Pimsleur foreign language CD. We were NOT provided with ANY notification telling us that we would receive subsequent CDs for which we would be charged. A month or so after we received our $10 CD, we got a large package containing "deluxe" CDs. Again, we were no provided with ANY notification that we would receive and be charged for subsequent material.

Because Internet Order LLC had my credit card number, they debited my account for the cost of the unordered CDs. We were in the process of moving at that time, so I simply let them have the money and thought that would be the end of it, as they agreed NEVER to send me any other products of any kind.

And they did NOT send any other products of any kind.

Then, several months ago, Internet Order LLC sent me a "bill" for $256.00. They claim I received some sort of order from them. I DID NOT receive ANYTHING from these people. I filed reports with the [redacted], TN, Revdex.com and with the [redacted], PA, Revdex.com. I thought that would be the end of the scam.

Yesterday, I received yet another bill for $256.00. Here's the real problem and the real scam: Internet Order LLC has my old credit card number and information. However, I've changed that card, so Internet Order LLC can no longer debit my account without my approval. AGAIN, they have sent me NO PRODUCTS WHATSOEVER. They are simply attempting to debit my account, realized that my card is no longer valid, and are hoping to scam me into renewing my credit card information.

This Internet Order LLC outfit has scammed hundreds of Americans. I demand that they be prosecuted. I've filed reports, but nothing seems to be working. I don't care who they are. I care WHAT they are, which is a scam outfit that MUST be shut down.Desired Settlement: I want Internet Order LLC put out of business. I also want them to eradicate their trumped up, scam "debt" they claim that I owe them. While they're at it, they can pay me for my time and for the angst and duress I've endured. I'd say $2000.00 will cover it. And if I ever hear from them again, they'll have to pay me another $2000.00. In fact, every time they try to bill me, I expect another $2000.00 Apparently, this is the only "game" these people understand. I realize that I am only one of the hundreds of Americans who've been victimized by Internet Order LLC's scam operation. Nonetheless, I'm standing up and shouting. Please DO SOMETHING to stop these crooks. Thank you.

Review: This Company offered an introduction to Spanich CD for $9.99. Apparantly there is a negative consent type agreement wherein you are then delivered a $1,000 plus language program. They keep sending you CD's and billing you.

Fortunately my card rejected the charge and they stopped sending after one shipment.

I had called to return the shipment but they said I was not able to do so and had to have some computer code which they could not give me because it was beyond the return period. I have been getting collection cards that look like they are from someone's home with colorful stick on return labels. It made me think they were a scam. I called Pimsleur the company that produces the CDs. They informed me that Internet order LLC DBA as Stroll pimsleur approach is a reseller of their product and that they have no involvement in collections or returnes.

The customer service people at Stroll-Pimsleur aka Internet order LLC were very dismissive and said basically, well it's all on the web-site.

So instead of getting a nice intro to Spanish CD for $9.99 I was signed up and billed for an intensive Spanish program that would cost over $1,000. This is a classic bait an swithch.Desired Settlement: I would like them to take back their extensive Spanish CD's and not bill me for the $256

If I wanted an extensive course I would have purchased that and not an introductory course for $9.99.

This is very desceptive marketing.

Review: this company charged me $64 for Spanish lessons I didn't order. I bought the $9.99 cd set and that was all I wanted. They then sent me a package with no return address for more lessons. The $64 charge appeared in my checking acct.last night and I want it stopped asap. According to some online sites they are a scam and will charge $64 3 more times. They have my debit card # from the 9.99 order.Desired Settlement: I want my $64 returned and the further charges stopped.I also want their shipping address and return postage to send it back.

I have been billed $64/mnth ever since.Desired Settlement: Refund my credit card for the amount I have been charged as I canceled the Gold package in June.

Review: Received a box of foreign language CDs that I never ordered. Am being repeatedly billed for $256.00, although I contacted them to advise that I hadn't ordered their CDs and returned the package to them. They are threatening to turn this over to a collection agency.Desired Settlement: Stop these unethical sales and billing practices. Stop threatening me. Acknowledge in writing that I never ordered their products and owe them nothing.

Review: I saw the offer for a Pimsleur Quick and Simple course for $9.95 on Facebook. There was never any information about them continuing to send me the unsolicited "Gold Course" until I got an email confirmation on the initial 9.95 order. I immediately tried to call but I got a recording. I tried multiple times, leaving the requested information but never getting a return call. When I finally did get customer service on the line (couple months later) I was told that it was too late to return the unsolicited portion which came in late October. I had already been billed 64.00 and was told that they would continue billing 64.00 four times monthly if I kept the item (which according to them, they would not accept a return ), totaling aprox. 250.00 for the month. I was, however, told that any further shipments would be cancelled, but after doing internet research I'm very skeptical of that. I do not want the unsolicited product that I did not agree to. I have cancelled my credit card but am concerned that these crooks will attempt to turn me into collections.Desired Settlement: I do not want anymore unsolicited items sent to me.

Review: Company name is PimsleurApproach.com but shipment came from Internet Order LLC, 2811 Southampton Road, Philadelphia, PA 19154 and initial charge was by a company called Stroll Learning (###-###-####).

I ordered language tapes over the internet with a $9.99 initial fee and 30 day free trial. When the intro single CD arrived, a note in the package said there would be 4 monthly payments of $64 if the order wasn't cancelled within 30 days. I did not look at the CD and did not cancel within the 30 day period. A few weeks later, a package arrived containing 8 CDs. I tried calling the toll free number and had trouble getting through. My credit card was billed $64. In a few days, after the credit card statement arrived and before I could get through to the business, I received a second package (presumably with 8 more CDs - I did not even open that package). I finally got through to customer service and said I wanted to cancel. They told me that I could return the second package (Level 2) but they would not accept the first package (Level 1) as it was outside the 30 day review period. I asked if the $64 paid for the first package. That's when I was informed that there were 4 Levels - each level having a cost of 4 payments at $64 each. In other words, the total cost of the program was 16 x $64 = $1024. That's the first I heard of the total cost of the program. Now, I'm stuck with a charge of $256 for 1/4 of a language program. Granted, I did not respond within the 30 day period, but I think this company's advertising is VERY, VERY, VERY DECEPTIVE. I would have never ordered in the first place if I knew the total cost was $1,024 and not $256Desired Settlement: The company will not accept their Level 1 package back even though it is unused. My credit card will be billed $64 for another 3 months. I guess there's nothing that can be done about that - no restocking fee, just tough luck to the unfortunate customer. But, please put something in this company's file that will let other potential customers know about how they treat their customers.

Review: I ordered a 2-CD set for $9.95, which I received, and now find I will be billed $265.00 for more CD's!

This is "DECEPTIVE ADVERTISING"!Desired Settlement: Cancel my order with this company!

I will cancel my credit card!

Review: Pimsleur sells a language program on-line. I purchased a basic $10 introductory CD. When I placed my on-line order I had to scroll through several screens indicating if I also wanted any one of several different, higher priced programs to which I answered NO in every instance. Their on-line order system requires that you scroll through these different screens and answer the question before the order is completed. I received the $10 introductory CD. Then about one mouth later I receive this multiple CD program, which I didn't want. When a $64 charge by Pimsleur appeared on my credit card I called and complained and the person on the phone said they would have the $64 charge credited on my credit card account. That charge was indeed credited on my next statement...but it appeared again on the following month statement and now I receive an overdue notice from Pimsleur that I owe them another $128. I have called them today and they say that the multiple CD program they sent me was "a thirty day trial program" which I didn't return in the required 30 days. The fact of the matter is, I didn't want any additional program and I never indicated that I did. I certainly will not pay them any more money and I would like to get the $64 back that was charged to my account, and which I have paid to the credit card company. It seems to me that Pimsleur may be using bait and switch advertising and its likely that I'm not the only one that has had this experience.Desired Settlement: They should return the $64 to me that they wrongfully charged to my credit card and if you find that there are other folks with the same complaints about Pimsleur, they should be fined or disciplined in some manner.

Review: I found a lot of people having the same issueSo, I'm going to re-post a review comment I found that pretty much says it all (the post is found retrieved from http://www.reviewopedia.com/pimsleur-approach-reviews):
"I ordered a language learning CD set from The Pimsleur approach for dollarsI received it and all was well until I started to receive more CD sets in the mailI assumed it was just a part of the one I signed up for initially since the invoice attached to it said "order total $0.00" I never actually got around to using the disks but didn't think anything of itYesterday April 29th, I received a letter dated April 1st saying that my account has been sent to collection for a past due amount of $I called the number and waited for minutesno one answered the phonethe next day I called again and spoke to someone who told me that I had to pay since my trial period was upI told him that I wasn't award I was even being charged he informed me that the payment information was inside with the disksAt which point I told him I haven't even used the disks yet but I did look at the INVOICE that was not hidden inside with the disks and that said I didn't owe anythingNeedless to say he did not have an answer as to why the billing costs were not in the place where it should be instead he told me that I can either keep the disks and pay or have my account stay in collection because they will not take them backI knew it couldn't just be me that this had happened to so I researched only to find pages upon pages of online complaints about the same issueSome people actually figure it out before the day deadline and was still scammedMany reported that the company claimed that they were sending out return labels for the products but not one of these customers actually received a return labelAfter a month or two passed, these same customers were then told that they still had to pay for the product because now it was too late and that the company is not responsible for the return label not arriving
[redacted]- Pimsleur Approach needs to be stopped from scamming poor unsuspecting customersAt this point I would rather pay money to have a lawyer provide me with legal advice on how to handle them than to pay for a product that they are attempting to trick me into paying for."Desired Settlement: Stop trying to charge me, knowing they sent out products with invoices specifying "Total Charge."

Review: The company offered a $9.95 program that triggered follow on charges. I spoke to the company and informed them that I did not want the follow on services. I was later billed. They refunded the follow on services billed but then billed me again. When I spoke to them they said I in fact agreed to more services when that is opposite of my call. They spoke to my husband, tried to make him listen to their high pressure sales pitch before agreeing to address anything, when he said he had heard the pitch and just needed them to correct the problem they said they could not do so until he listed to the sales pitch, they then told him and I verbally agreed to more services - which I did not. They refused to let my husband talk to a supervisor. Why would they refund a fee only to restart the fee 60 days later. They clearly knew the service was to be cancelled but chose to continue misusing my credit card anyway.Desired Settlement: Immediate refund and termination of all future charges and a written statement that they understand the service is to be cancelled.

Review: I saw the ad for Pimsleur language learning, and went to the site, and after listening to a very long explanation of how the Pimsleur method works, bought the "Quick & Simple -Italian CD Custom pkg." It is simple, all right. Boring, Buon Giorno, on and on, over and over. Then there was another paper with the order, congratulating me for my "Enrollment in the Rapid Fluency Program"!. I don't remember signing up for any such thing! But I am 71, and my eyes are not too good. I called the phone number given to cancel, and found out I had signed up for more complicated and better CD's at $54 each! The woman I spoke to DID cancel this order, so I certainly hope no more CD's will be coming in the mail, and that I will not be charged. The "Your enrollment in the Rapid Fluency Program has been accepted" letter, makes NO mention of any $54 cost. When I telephoned to cancel, that was the first I heard about $54. As I said, I'm old, my ears are not too good either, and I don't know if it was $54 for one CD of how many?Desired Settlement: I just want this kind of deceptive advertising stopped. I am old, 71, but I did listen to, and read the whole ad for the $10 CD, and still had NO idea there would be more CD's at a much higher cost, coming in the mail, and it would be up to me to cancel, or else I would be charged.
