Review: Pimsleur Approach has sent me products that I did not order. I called customer service 2-3 months ago after they sent me the "Spanish Gold Course" and told them I did not want their product. I asked them to stop sending any products to me. I asked them to delete my credit card number which I used to buy one $10 product online last year. Now, I have been sent another "Spanish Gold Course - 2" and I have to spend extra time again telling them I don't want their product. I feel harrassed by this unethical advertisement practice. Please help me stop receiving products from this company. They obviously cannot be trusted to stop when I ask them to do so.Desired Settlement: I want the company to stop sending me products that I don't order and to destroy all of my credit card information.

I want to know what recourse I have if they don't stop in the future. Is there a federal/state agency that I can contact? I'm not sure they will stop.

After numerous attempts to call [redacted] to cancel orders, finally got through to representative on 18 Sep 2013. At that time, cancelling any orders could not be possible because rep mentioned a high volume of calls were being received and that an agent will be contacting me to cancel orders. To date, no calls received.

On or about 20 Sep 2013, I received a parcel not indicating who it was from. Anxious to receive my order from another vendor, I opened the box disclosing who it was from, I was shocked to see Pimsleur contents. I NEVER indicated that I was interested any Pimsleur system. This parcel should not have been sent. According to Revdex.com, they recommend I notify vendor and see if all can be rectified. Apparently not, I’m still receiving troubled mail.

I received today by us mail, a hand-written letter from Internet Order LLC of monies I owe, where and how to send it.

I will not send any money, instead would like instructions to re-deliver all [redacted] parcels back and get my initial $89 reimbursement.Desired Settlement: Total reimbursement and discontinue all correspondence with company.

Review: I by form this company just one tape for $9.95 and then they send to me another type and now they are asking me for $195 and when I told them that I don't want they say I have only 10 days to return so they dont wand me to return and they say I own them this money. I have no idea that I ever sign anything except $9.95. Review: I watched a 10 minute video for purchase of an audio CD to learn Spanish. SEVERAL times in the video it stated the product was ONLY $10. NO where in the video did they state

there would be more product sent with additional charges. I am now being charged $192 for something I NEVER ordered.Desired Settlement: I never ordered the product they sent. I will return it if they send me mailing costs. Otherwise I want my bill adjusted to $0.

I do NOT want my credit hurt by this. I take pride in paying all my bills and paying on time.

Review: Pimsleur Approach Internet Order LLC is a scam!

Last fall I ordered Pimsleup's French for 9.99 and in about 2-3 weeks received the Gold Edition via mail. Since it was my first time ordering from that company and since I ordered only one thing I thought that Gold Edition was what I was supposed to get. When I was ordering those Learn French CDs the only sum in the order screen was 9.99! When I first received an email from them saying "the status of your order has changed" I thought it was a scam and unsubscribed from that email. Later I received a letter via mail stating that they were unable to charge my Credit Card (I received a new CC in January because I had lost the old one)requesting me to pay 256$! What a shock was that! If I knew the program was that expensive I would have never ordered those CDs! I'm a student and not able to pay 256$ especially for what I didn't agree to pay! 256 dollars is what I make a week! After I received that bill via mail I called them and tried to pay it but the bank wouldn't let the transaction. then LUCKILY I found a lot of complaint about the deceptive dishonest sales techniques of Pimsleur! I decided to find out what exactly the 256$ bill was for. I called them again today May 23, 2013 at around 11.30 AM. When I asked the customer service lady what they are trying to charge me that astronomical sum of money for she said the Gold Edition that I received after the French Trial set! But I NEVER, NEVER received the fist CD set she was talking about! However SHE (the customer service rep-ve) stated they have a record that the first French trial was delivered to me! And what she also said was "You tried to pay your bill about a month ago but the bank wouldn't let the transaction, you said you will call the bank and after resolving the issue will pay your bill, so NOW I don't understand why you are complaining!"

Can you believe that? There is nothing in the order section. Nothing on the receipt. They don't send you no follow up e-mail to help you find your way back and in order for me to look again at my order page! There is hundreds of complaints about this company on [redacted] and other websites. Please help, I'm sure im not the first one filing a complaint about Internet Order LLC Pimsleur. This company should be put out of business!!!

Review: In July our credit card was charged for items that we did not purchase. Someone scammed our credit card!!! We returned the package and enclosed information that we did not make that order and for them not to send anything else. We also cancelled our credit card. Again, on 8/27/14, we received another package from this company that we did not order. We did call them, told them we did not order this item and that we had returned the previous item and for them to stop sending packages.Desired Settlement: Stop sending packages!!!! that we did not order and we have to return.

Review: I have been charged hundreds of dollars after I CANCELED my membership with Stroll. "Cancel any time" they said when I bought a $10 CD.

Review: Purchased language cd program for $ 9.95 on trial basis. Received first set and di d not use or reviewmaterial inside. Later received a second set which I did not request and did not open at all, follwed by a collection message, requesting payment of $264. I sent email advising that I did not want these second sets of Cds. I offered to return these unopened and pay a restocking fee. They refused stating that the 90 day period had elapsed and the cds could not be returned. They said the trial period info was in the first set of CDs, which I had not seen. Review: Pimsleur Approach advertised a language course for $9.00-$10.00. When you receive this $9.00-$10.00 course the next thing they send is a "gold edition". Pimsleur then takes $64.00 out of your bank account for a total of four payments of $64.00 each. The advertising is very misleading as the ad speaks (verbal) but the fine print (which I did not see) tells a different story.Desired Settlement: Please put "Pimsleur Approach" on your misleading advertising list.

Review: At first I thought it might be me, but after looking on the internet and a conversation with a few of these people I realize a complaint is in order. I purchased a small set of CD's to learn Spanish. I took the little CD with me and traveled. I was not in town for a couple of months and when I returned I found a bill for 531.20. They said I had agreed to a bigger better set mailed to me one per month with a 30 day viewing period. I told them I had NEVER signed up of ANY of that and the boxes were sitting in my home unopened until my return when I opened them to see what they were with the lady on the phone.

I asked to return them and they said NO , return period over they said..I SAID I never ordered them and they said I had. The print is so small and I feel hoodwinked. I went on the internet and found that many people had suffered the same fate. So I'm filing with you. I call ed them again because now they have charged me for a box I never received. the only saving factor of me as opposed to others trapped by this company is that my card was breached and I had to cancel it. Others tell me they got stuck paying much more because this company captures your card and then has a field day. I plan to fill the internet warning people not to buy that little CD. However, I won't do that just yet, I will give them one more chance to reciprocate. I'll inform them that I've filed with the Revdex.com and that I plan to do a campaign to stop their stealing. I'll see what they do, but for now they threaten to ding my good credit..Its like talking to the Mafia. Review: This company took UNAUTHORIZED payments out of my credit card and started sending me collections calls. My credit is spotless for almost 5 years now. I pay everything on time and have money in my bank. I did not authorize these charges and was out of the country while receiving more product I didn't order. I called to speak to a manager, was rudely yelled at, placed on hold for 10 minutes, finally the young man said they didn't want me to wait longer and would call me back. Never heard from them again. That call was in early February.Desired Settlement: I can accept either a refund and removal of outstanding balance and I will return all (unopened) product or 2nd choice a removal of the outstanding balance and keep the product.

Review: I purchased the discounted language course after listening to 30 minutes worth of advertising that you could not fast forward through. After selecting the product I wanted to buy I was given the option to purchase other levels of language training, Silver, Gold etc. I chose 'no' on every option, yet I still received the upgrade packages in the mail. Now they won't take back the item that they chose to send despite the fact I chose not to upgrade.

Since I specifically said 'no' to the options to upgrade I should not be responsible for the purchase of these extra courses which I did not even want. This is a willfully deceptive business practice by this company, and from doing the research now that I should have done back then, it looks like they have several complaints with the Revdex.com as well as on Rip-Off Report. If I already chose 'no' to the offer to upgrade then my intent should have been clear. If the promotional offer was predicated on my receiving the upgrade materials then why was I still prompted to upgrade? When I chose 'no' to the upgrades there should have been a pop-up stating that I would not receive the cd at the promotional price unless I chose an upgrade option. I would not have purchased the original cd under those conditions.

Why is this company still allowed to do business in this manner? It's clearly ripping people off.Desired Settlement: I just want to return the items, and have no further business dealings with this company. I don't want to pay for anything else, and don't believe I should have paid for anything to begin with. They've already taken money out of my bank account and I will have to pay for the shipping. I don't plan to pursue a refund. I believe the amount I've paid already is significant enough that I can say I no longer have the original cds at the 'promotional' purchase price, and all subsequent materials should be returnable.

IS A TOTAL SCAM….

In October of 2013, Pimsleurapproach.com popped up on my screen while I was on Facebook. There was an exceptionally long video that I listened very closely to and watched very closely. I agreed to a $9.95 onetime fee to learn Spanish in 10 days and provided my debit card information to make the onetime payment of $9.95. After I agreed to the $9.95 onetime fee program to learn Spanish in 10 days, several other screens started popping up asking about if I wanted to pay additional fees to subscribe to another level. I said NO to everything that popped up because I did not want to pay anything more than the $9.95 onetime fee.

It was soon thereafter that I received a CD in the mail in a small package from PimsleurApproach.com.

I didn’t open the package or review the materials or the invoice. I barely opened the package and could see there was a CD in there. I thought I would take a look at it at another time, but never did. A while after that time period, I received a larger package from PimsleurApproach.com. I did the same, opened it and saw some CDs and didn’t think to check the invoice. I thought, “This must be the big program they raved about in the advertisement.” I figured I would look at it at another time but never did. Soon thereafter, I received a third package that looked very similar to the second package. I barely open the package and thought it was odd that they sent me the same thing twice. I pulled the invoice out of the box and checked for a phone number. The invoice did not state anything in regards to cost or money withdrawn from my account. It simply stated the shipping details. I called PimsleurApproach.com’s toll-free number: ###-###-#### because I was worried that I might be charged the $9.95 twice.

I was totally shocked, angry, and distraught when the PimsleurApproach.com representative told me that there are 4 levels of Spanish that will be mailed to me and each level cost $256 which adds up to $1024. The representative on the phone informed me that I was charged $9.95 (in which I did agree to) but also, I have been charged $64 dollars TWICE (none of which I agreed to) for the first package and would be charged another $64 for the first package. She also stated that the second package would be charged the same way. She stated that each package is $256 and that the entire program is $1024. I told her that I was not aware that I had been charged $64 twice. I was so [redacted]et and kept saying, “I want to return all your materials to you and I want a refund for $128 you’ve stolen from my account.” I stated that I did NOT want any part of this program and that I did NOT agree to be charged for any more than the onetime $9.95 fee. The PimsleurApproach.com representative stated that the first package could NOT be returned because it was past the trial period and that I still owe $64 for the first package. I told her that I purchased a program with a onetime charge of $9.95. I stated that if I wanted to spend that much for a language program I would have purchased Rosetta Stone for half the price of what PimsleurApproach.com is trying to steal from me. I told the representative I would not be paying for any of this product in which I NEVER signed up for and NEVER AGREED TO.

After I got off the phone with PimsleurApproach.com on January 31, 2014, I went to my bank, [redacted] Credit Union. I filled out a Redicheck Dispute Form for the $64 on 12/26/2013 and $64 on 1/24/2014. My debit card was shredded by the bank and a new card was issued to ensure that PimsleurApproach.com could not get any more money from my account.

I continue to receive mail from PimsleurApproach.com telling me that I owe them money. I’m even receiving e-mail from: [email protected] with the subject line: Issue with $9.95 Pimsleur CD Purchase

The email states the following:

At this time, I have not responded to any of PimsleurApproach.com’s attempts to contact me or scam me for more money.

I should have checked the packages closely upon arrival and I should have paid closer attention to my bank account but REGARDLESS, I did NOT sign up for what this company is trying to say I agreed to. I did NOT agree to 4 levels with each level costing $256, totaling $1024. I did not agree to such a program or terms. I said yes to a onetime fee of $9.95.

I DON’T have the money to sign up for what they are trying to scam people for. It’s too much money. I NEVER agreed to such and I offered to return all their unused, barely opened materials in order to receive a refund and not be sent any more packages. They would not hear of it. The whole thing has been so [redacted]etting, I never even took the materials out of the boxes. I never used them. They are just sitting at home in the boxes they were shipped in AND I NEVER ORDERED THIS STUFF. I keep getting unwanted mail from PimsleurApproach.com wanting more money.
