A representative of Chase called, and essentially gave me the same explanation as to how they compound, calculate and apply their interest (which is up to several weeks after your payment is due, or you have paid your balance in full).  When I paid my $1900+ balance in full on 6/6/16, there was no indication that there would be additional charges applied later on when Chase added that interest.  I think this should be calculated the day your payment is due, as the balance is still the same when you're paying it anyway. It just makes no sense to me, and feels dishonest that Chase is trying to justify this backwards process.  If your balance is "x" payable by whatever-date, then that should be the balance you're paying. Not "subject to interest compounded within 14 days to be added later".

The business called me but failed to provide a resolution. It was a waste of their time and my time. The declined to offer any valid solution. I did notice after the call that the fee they were trying to charge had been removed from my payment due however they did not send me any correspondence about the matter. I have yet to receive anything in the mail from them as well. This issue could possibly be resolved but I have not heard from the business.
