Our representatives only contact customers who have previously shown interest in our products and try to assist you by adjusting the cost, however there is never a "free" bottle offered. Our terms state you must pay a shipping and handling fee of $4.95 for us to send you a full 30 day supply of La Creme. We ship the product the day after you place your order, every customer is given the right to try their first 30 day supply without charge for the first 14 days. After the 14 day trial period if the customer is unsatisfied with their product, they are to return the remainder postmarked for return within their 14 day trial period and also contact customer service to notify a request for cancellation. As per the response provided in our email correspondence, the customer was only billed $47.33, a 46% discount. We have refunded this amount due to this complaint, however we stand by our policies and we would like to reiterate that our customers accept the terms and conditions two separate times to process their orders. Since there was no notification of a request for cancellation and/or a returned product during the allotted trial period, the consumer was automatically billed for the 30 day supply on 5/8/14 as explained in the terms and conditions for which they agreed to. Thirty days thereafter, the consumer was billed $87.63 as part of the monthly membership on 6/7/14 and issued another bottle. The consumer contacted our company on 6/10/14 with a request for cancellation. The account was canceled immediately as instructed and they were sent a confirmation email confirming the cancellation. As we value customer satisfaction, we have refunded both charges of $87.63. The consumer's account will be refunded in total, $175.26 within 3-7 business days.

Since there was no notification of a request for cancellation and/or a returned product during the allotted time, the customer was automatically billed for the 30 day supply on 7/09/2015 and again on 8/08/2015 for their monthly replenishment, as explained in the terms and conditions which they agreed to. The consumer contacted La Crème Skin Care on 8/13/2015 with a request for cancellation. The account was cancelled immediately as instructed and the customer was sent a cancellation confirmation via email. Based on the nature of the call, the customer service agent refunded the amount of $87.63 that day. Once a refund is processed, it takes 3-7 business days for it to be credited back to the customer’s account. 
We have refunded the remainder of the amount requested, $87.63, due to this complaint, however we stand by our policies and we would like to reiterate that our customers accept the terms and conditions two separate times to process their order. The consumer placed the order on 09/19/14. This is when they paid the initial $4.95 and this began the 14 day trial period to sample from the initial 30 day supply. Since there was no notification of a request for cancellation and/or a returned product during the allotted trial period, the consumer was automatically billed for the 30 day supply on 10/04/14 as explained in the terms and conditions for which they agreed to. The consumer contacted our company on 10/07/14 with a request for cancellation. The account was canceled immediately as instructed and they were sent a confirmation email confirming the cancellation. The consumer then contacted us on 10/08/14, quoting the terms and conditions and Section J regarding requesting a refund. The consumer may request a refund, but the entire basis of the trial period is to make a decision within the 14-days and return the item before the charge is applied. When the consumer called in, we confirmed this information, but based on the nature of the call, we went outside our terms and offered a 25% partial refund. Before the call could be successfully completed, it ended abruptly. Any attempts to contact the customer were unsuccessful and a supervisor authorized the full refund of $87.63 as a courtesy. The consumer would have received an e-mail confirmation of the cancellation and full refund. The refund will take three to seven business days to credit back.

The issue is that I never knowingly signed up for a 'free trial'.  I filled out a fictitious survey with the skin care cream as a reward for answering the survey.  I realize I should have read the 'fine print", and I should have kept better track of my credit card expenses but as I was not using this card I did not track my expenses there.  This was money I really could not afford to spend on a pricy unnecessary skin care product.  Who needs a jar a month anyway?  This whole free trial marketing scheme is a scam.  Researching the internet I am not the only person upset by this ruse.
I just want this practice stopped.

The consumer contacted La Crème Skin Care on 4/20/2015 with a request for cancellation via email. The account was cancelled immediately as instructed and the customer was sent a cancellation confirmation via email. Based on the nature of the email, the customer service agent responded to the email with an offer of a full refund, yet the customer never informed of their decision.

The customer placed the order on 4/03/2015. This is when they paid the initial $4.95 for shipping and handling and this began the trial period to sample from the initial 30 day supply they were sent. Since there was no notification of a request for cancellation and/or a returned product during the allotted time, the customer was automatically billed for the 30 day supply on 4/18/2015 as explained in the terms and conditions which they agreed to. The consumer still has yet to contact La Crème Skin Care with any request for cancellation.
We have refunded the amount of $87.63, due to this complaint. Once a refund is processed, it takes 3-7 business days for it to be credited back to the customer’s account. However, we stand by our policies and we would like to reiterate that our customers accept the terms and conditions two separate times to process their order. The consumer placed the order on 07/20/14. This is when they paid the initial $4.95 and this began the 14 day trial period to sample from the initial 30 day supply. Since there was no notification of a request for cancellation and/or a returned product during the allotted trial period, the consumer was automatically billed for the 30 day supply on 08/04/14 as explained in the terms and conditions for which they agreed to. The consumer contacted our company on 08/11/14 with a request for cancellation. The account was canceled immediately as instructed and they were sent a confirmation email confirming the cancellation. Based on the nature of the call, the customer service agent issued a partial credit of $43.82 on that same day. The consumer would have received an e-mail confirmation of the cancellation and refund. The refund will take three to seven business days to credit back. 
 
We have refunded the remainder of the amount due to this complaint, however we stand by our policies and we would like to reiterate that our customers accept the terms and conditions two separate times to process their orders. I'm not unhappy with the product itself, but it is the company I am PO'd at.
Ordered their product, trial size $4.95 shipping, seems to work(?).
Today, 10.25.14, I am looking at my bank accounts and find a charge of $87.63 on there!
I called the company, waited about eight minutes to speak to someone, and was told I did not cancel my order within 14 days.
Told the CSR I *never* saw that on the forms on the web site. Also told her, "This is a freaking RIP-OFF!"
They did consent to 'refund' 25% of my money and cancelled any further shipments.
I said to the CSR, "Your company needs to make this cancellation statement more prominent on the web site so it can be easily seen."
She had nothing to say to my statement.
I am NOT happy with this outfit...At all!

We verify on the website that the 30-day product supply on a 14-day trial basis. We do not offer a free product, and the consumer is required to contact us within 14-days. The charge of $87.63 is actually paying for the 30-day supply after the trial period expired. To avoid this charge, the...

consumer is offered the option to return the item postmarked by the end of the trial period. In the terms, it clearly verifies that if the item is kept outside of the trial period, the consumer will be charged $87.63. When Mrs. [redacted] contacted us, she was notified of these terms as the item is not free. She was irate, and we attempted to contact her and verify she could keep the item as a one-time courtesy due to her dissatisfaction. We did not receive any notice back she received this contact until this complaint. As she was notified before this complaint was filed, we are simply confirming the information on her account. She originally ordered the trial on 10/07/14 at $3.95, and she contacted us on 10/17/14 to cancel. We close the account completely, and there are detailed notes regarding her original contact with us, and the numerous calls we made to her.
