I just had someone come out today and yes he was pushy ( they are on commission ) said I wanted to get another opinion from another company and he told me the quote was only for today that he could give me zero financing so I signed up. I must say I am now hesitant about what I did because I don't have the quote from the other company, and I don't know what to do.

Thanks so much for taking the time to share your feedback,Ydelle. We'll have someone from our support team reach out shortly to address your concerns.

BE FORWARNED! The LeafFilter salesman may tell you that a big job has just cancelled, and he could schedule your installation for tomorrow at a price break However, the contract states that you agree to pay their installer w/ cash or bank check, and failure to pay in full in cash upon completion is subject to "financing." What large company does business like that, and what homeowner wouldn't inspect a completed job first before paying in full? When my neighbor said that LeafFilter sent over an unsupervised sub-contractor w/ no special equipment (no phone, no phone numbers, no pocket money) as the salesperson described, who wanted his part of the bill paid in cash separately to him (what???), and who then hit up the retired neighbor for gas money when I said I had arranged to pay the salesman after I inspected the job, I knew I had to get out the ladders, get up on the roof and take photos I observed that the sub-contractor did a shoddy job in several areas, damaged one area, and totally failed to install the LeafFilter on about 35' of gutter After forwarding the photos to both the salesman and regional manager, they tried to claim that this installer had never performed or behaved in this manner before No, LeafFilter has only been in business in this area since 12/1/14, and I may have been the first customer to have climbed the ladder to inspect and document his or their work LeafFilter said they would dismiss the sub-contractor immediately, send an experienced installer back to the job, and pay back the retired neighbor the gas money she lent I would say that they lived up to their promise in fear of negative social media, and not b/c they have a sound business model (consisting of employees vs unsupervised sub-contractors, LeafFilter trucks and equipment, and a policy of payment upon satisfactory completion and inspection of the job Do not assume that you are dealing w/ the likes of big, reputable companies *** or *** ***, *** *** ** *** ***, or ***, b/c that is not who they are at this time

I was stood up twice for obtaining quotes, once leaving work earlyThen manager guaranteed me that he would respond and never heard from himI can only imagine that you would never hear from them after they got their moneyI can refer people away from using them

Had product installed on 01/27/ Have had problems ever since Anywhere where there a gutter that empties into another gutter, the water just runs right over the product and off the roof, into window wells and onto exterior doors underneath that point They did make two service calls early on, to put up splash guards, but that has not corrected the problem I am now on my third appointment with a "service no show" over the last two months and not confident it will correct the problem
Product is defective and they are unable to honor their service warranty

After having LeafFilter out to our home last week, we decided to move forward with their services WE COULDN'T BE HAPPIER WITH THE OUTCOME! The estimator was friendly and professional and was able to answer all of our questions He provided us with a reasonable price and showed us a savings that made the project a no-brainerThe installers showed up the very next day and completed the job quickly and without any hassle David and his crew explained the process and got right to workSince the installation we have had several rainstorms and it appears to be working perfectly I'm so happy that I won't have to clean my gutters ever againHIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Other reviews here are the business practices of this company You will get a very high estimate, when you say no, the salesman will "be authorized" to offer you an immediate discount of XX which will lower your estimate significantly If you say no again, they will have some other discount or "unused product in the warehouse" or an open appointment tomorrow that allows them to lower the price further Be aware that the final price may be SIGNIFICANTLY less than the first estimateIn their brochure, they claim,
"To maintain structural integrity of your roof, LeafFilter is not installed underneath your shingles or attached to your roof This will also protect your roof warranty"When I got home after the install there were bright metal straps or inches long screwed to my roof every few feet This is HUNDREDS of screws going directly through my roofing material I called to complain and was told that roofing material is made to seal around screws and nails and that there would be no problem I have facia that is perpendicular to the roof, not vertical, so there needs to be a way of keeping the gutter level I have a vacation property with the same facia where aluminum brackets were used on the back of the gutter They have worked great in the Adirondacks for years with significant snowfall When I asked why they don't use these instead of straps, I was told "our product requires the straps" I suspect this is because it is faster, cheaper and more standard The LeafFilter should need no support from above, as it is attached directly to the gutterOn the positive side, there were two other problems with the install that were fixed quickly, and the service tech did paint the straps darker to make them less noticeable Time will tell if the product itself worksStill a very unsatisfactory method of installation I would absolutely advise against allowing them to install if they mention using roofstraps How can you claim it will not be attached to the roof, then install long straps with screws through the roofing material? If I had know what it would look like, there is no way I would have had them install at ANY price

Before agreeing to installation I asked them to make sure our gutters were in good shapeThere's no use putting gutter guards on bad guttersI was told by Buddy *** they were perfectly fineAfter the first rainfall we found they leaked immediatelyThey did not leak before Leaf filter did their workI called or times to complain, they came out each time to seal the gutters and promised each time it would workIt hasn'tThey promised first thing this spring they would fix the problem - this after I got the buffalo News involvedthey cancelled times before finally coming outWhen they finally came they called Michael *** ( Installation Director) and he told me my gutters were deterioratingThey are aluminum, they don't rustAgain they were asked before installing their product if the gutters were okayThe contract states they would seal gutter with yr silicone and that they would repair damaged gutters.

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 11490049,
a service rep did come out last week and yes he spent 1/hrs re-doing the installation by himself because it was installed wrong to begin with. I still am not sure if it is corrected because there hasn't been any rain in our area. I am very dissatisfied on how this whole matter was dealt with to begin withfrom one sale rep telling me I needed a bigger screen in panel to a rep telling me it was my fault because my shingles were too shortthen to find out it was installed incorrectly. the regional manager mr *** did call today after a few weeks of me calling him all the time, and I basically said to him the same as this email. time will tellyes it will keep leaves out but the whole process was handled very badly

Last October I had Leaf Filter installed at my residence, was assured that by installing this system, I would eliminate the need to have my gutters cleaned and also save on electricity by removing the heating elements from my roof and gutters since Leaf Filter was going to take care of extreme ice buildupit did not solve but created bigger ice build up on my gutters and the overflow created on ice rink on my walkwaycontacted the company on several occasion and instead of solving the problem I got a lesson on how icicles are madei would not recommend but discourage customers to stay away from this product

After arranging to have the Leaf Filter protection system installed on my house, the contractor who was to perform the installation first notified me that they were running late and wouldn’t arrive at my house until 6pm at that time I had requested to reschedule so they didn’t have to rush in order to get done before darkHowever they were pushy and insisted that the job would be done with no problems, however when 9:rolled around and they were still working I told the contractor to leave and come back a different day to finish when it was light so they could see what they were doing and I could put my kids to sleepThey arrived days later to finish up the job but the installation they performed was so poor (I have pictures) I had to call and have a different installer come out and redo the entire job but even after he was done and I had time look everything over I noticed the new downspouts were crookedAt this point I was sick having to call and wait to days for someone t

The product may be good if installed properly Had them installed Octin New Jersey Did ok in winter Now getting water in my basement for the first time during heavy rains Had architect and landscape contractor here These professionals tell me gutters are slanted wrong way or not enough and leader(s) are missing Rain overflowing gutters down into foundation and basement Called and emailed service several times over day period Finally got a call back for a service days later with a service call scheduled almost a month away! Meanwhile, we continue to take water into our basement Terrible service Paid a premium for these gutters and lifetime warranty What good is a lifetime warranty if installed improperly Do yourself a favor Get gutter helmets for a fraction of the cost from a local gutter company

Beware They're plan is to deceiveNowhere on any of their web sites will show an actual cost of the productWhat they do is lie about the jobFor example, after hours of listening to the canned sales pitch I was guoted a price of $At this time I said "No Thank You" Then came the lies!I was told in no uncertain terms that their work required the total removal of the existing gutters to reshape them, reinstall them with these special hangers and rework the gutter pitch to insure proper flowAgain, I was also told of the job cancelled at another site and his entire crew we come over to do the work promisedThe salesman made it sound very much like he was running the crew I then said I can understand the price because of the great amount of manpower needed to perform the workAfter agreeing to this the salesman took all the paperwork with him implying he was coming back with his crewHe lied , never to be seen again with no paper trail So one guy with a ladder snapped on some covers in six hours and drove away! At this time I called his office and told them I'll pay for the work they did do but not for the liesOr come back and take it downListen people, this product is not exclusiveEquivalent an/or superior products are available for $to $per footDoing the math this proves they are trying to charge me $3,for a $job The manager has tried to backstep this contract offering nothing but talkFurthermore they submitted the bill to a second party for paymentThis fraudulent business practice is off the chart Stay far away from these peopleThis still is not settled since September 20th Sincerely ***

I signed up to receive a quote while at a trade fairSomebody called the next day to set up an appointmentAn appointment was set up for the following day after thatMitch Bcame out and spoke with my husband initially, then I came home after they had already been talking for an hour and a halfWe told Mitch that we don't make any major decisions the day ofHe called and was able to get a Factory Direct quote (so once again the magic dollar amount continues to fall) from his boss; we reiterated that we will discuss it and decideBy now, Mitch's attitude has changed and packs upHe asked what we thought would happen when we made the appointment; why weren't we ready to make a decision at this appointment? I told him one thing that would have helped was having LOCAL people who have testimonies for their productAfter he left, both my husband and I expressed our ill feelings towards the situation, we both feel very uncomfortable now after allowing this man into our homeI just wish I had read the other reviews (even nation wide!) prior to setting up this appointment!

I would first like to say that the product itself, while it's only been on my house for a month and it was past the leaf/rainy season, seems high quality. I have no issue with the product currently. My issues are first, with the salesman , second with the customer service department and third, with the manager's handling of my complaint. First, the salesman: he was pleasant and worked with me to find a price and financing that I would afford and I appreciate that. I did feel somewhat pressured, as he offered several different prices and interest free financing that was first 6 months, then 1 year, then 2 years and ultimately 5 years. I agreed to the 5 years interest free financing, even though I wasn't really looking to have a monthly payment (my neighbor, however, is 80 and gets on my roof to clean my gutters and I felt I needed to do something about that!). I signed the contract and the work was done the next week (although the salesman had promised it would be done the next day and didn't answer my phone calls when it wasn't done for several days). A week later, I was surprised to receive a credit card in the mail. It was from a familiar credit card company. It had a credit limit 3 times the amount of the cost of the leaf guard and installation. I was completely stunned and upset. I had not been informed that by signing up for financing, that I would be signing up for a home improvement card with a large credit limit. I assumed (admittedly naively so) that I was signing up for financing through a bank for the exact amount of my purchase and not 3 times the amount. I have financed other large purchases in my life (home, car, school loans) and those have always been for the stated price and did not come with a credit limit 3 times the amount of the purchase. The salesman didn't mention this. It was not written anywhere on the contract. I felt mislead and it made me feel like I had made a purchase that I shouldn't have. I contacted the salesman directly and he did not return my call. I called the main office 4 or 5 times. Each time, I spoke with a person who sounded helpful. They assured me I would receive a call back from a manager. However, after several weeks of not receiving a call back, I made yet another call and had to demand to speak to a manager about my concern. The manager got on the phone and I could tell from the beginning that this was going to be a challenge. First, he simply answered "this is...". He didn't explain who he was and didn't ask how he could help. I explained the purpose of my call (to express my concern that his salesman is not providing his clients with full, accurate information). The manager looked my information up. The next thing he said was "I see your account and that you got a very, very heavy discount. So what is your complaint exactly?". I explained again that I did not appreciate being signed up for a line of credit without full details. I made sure to highlight that I realized I was given a generous discount and that the product seems to be good, but that making a purchase like this does not feel good when you find out your weren't given all the information. His responses included: "90% of home projects are attached to a credit card"; "if you know anything about how credit works, the credit card company did you a major solid. You should be thankful they gave you such a high credit limit."; "nobody else has ever called with a problem about this"; "i know this is emotional for you. You were charged up from the start" (I was not happy that I had called several times without a call back and then was being treated like I was making a big deal about nothing); "look lady, you got an email from the credit card company 5 minutes after signing the paperwork"; "you got a good product with a great discount. I can't believe you are calling to complain". The manager completely defended his salesman. Again, I was confused. I couldn't believe I was essentially being told that it isn't a big deal to be signed up for a credit card--and that actually I should be thankful for a large line of credit. Not once did the manager apologize or offer to talk to his salesman to clear this up. It was upsetting and again makes me feel like I made a poor purchase. I do hope that come spring, I will be happy to have the product on my home, but I can't in good faith recommend this company because of the dishonesty and later the way customer service handled my concern.

When setting up the original appointment, the lady was very pleasant and accommodating. The salesman arrived a half hour earlier than expected and waited patiently until he saw me at the front of the house. At no time did I feel any high pressure. In fact, he was very pleasant to deal with. I did review the product before hand and looked at the example he brought with. Having done construction I could tell the materials were well constructed and placement of supports every 8 inches allows for a sturdy install of the top materials. I have not had it installed as yet due to scheduling. However, it's scheduled for about two weeks from now. There was no unpleasant response from the salesman for the delay. These folks work on commission, so not making a sale can be frustrating. It's unfortunate that some people has salespersons who apparently unprofessional. When the install occurs I will be present to supervise the work to make sure it's done according to their advertised method. When it's completed I will write another review regarding the install.

Norman,
I apologize for your experience and I will be getting this to management. We want you to be a satisfied customer as that is what we strive for! If you need anything further please contact our Service Department at 1-800-749-4566.

I did not hire this company because of the pressure to hire that day. Although the salesman knew I had other people coming over the next 2 days, he still said that his visit here was pointless because I wasn't closing with him. He wouldn't leave a written estimate, said that that's not what he does, that he closes deals........even though the website advertises free estimates. I asked if I were to choose his company, I'd have to go through all this again, and he said, "Pretty much." I said, "So you just wasted my time?" And he said that I had wasted HIS time because he had to drive out here. As he was leaving, he told me to have a nice day, and when I didn't say anything (my jaw was still on the ground), he said that I didn't have to be rude. Ahem. He said they are an A+ rating with the Revdex.com because they have not had a complaint in the last 3 consecutive years. Clearly a lie. False advertising. High-pressure sales. I really hope other people read these reviews before calling on this company. I did not file a complaint because the salesman's attitude did not fit in the Revdex.com's complaint categories.

Had leaf filter installed last summer and was lied to by the high pressure sales guy. Was told it was interest free financing. Was never even given a credit app nor was any mention of financing from another source mentioned. Shortly after two shaddy guys showed up and put on the leaf filter. They then demanded a credit card from my wife. We explained that we opted for the 18 month free financing. At that point the threats began that we either fill out a credit app or else. However, the sales guy said it was in house financing by leaf filter when it really was outsourced.
That was just the beginning. The first rain and one guard blew off. I went up on a ladder and realized that the filters were installed completely opposite to how all of their fancy promotional material states. They claim never to disturb shingles or the roof warranty will be voided. They disturbed my shingles, they put screws through the patented filter screen, and over tightened the filters warping my gutters. They finally sent a service tech out whom-was a nice guy. He was livid that the sub contractors who installed the filters didn’t install them correctly and that they overtightened them causing my existing gutters to warp which resulted in water pooling up and explained that now he had to try and fix them which was going to eat up his entire day. To top it off the installers also installed the filters without even cleaning my extremely clogged gutters as promised in the initial sales pitch. In fact, the service tech left me a voicemail listing every error the subs made. He stated he repaired some issues to the best of his ability and cleaned them but that I needed to call his boss Mike Wilkins and figure out a solution to get my gutters back to 100% since he was unable. It has been over a year now and I am currently fighting this company in court. They offered a $10,000 dollar settlement but the story gets more complex. Winter arrives last year and due to the horrible install my bottom row of shingles have curled up what I can only refer to as looking like an eyelash. The gutters are no longer draining properly and the filters now are causing ice damming all the way up to the peaks of my roof. It has caused leaking in my house and my newly textured painted interior walls are cracking from the water. I’ve had numerous reputable roofers come and look at the problem and they all concur that my roof is shot which had quite a life span still left before Leaf Filter screwed it up. I also have 4 sky lights that leak due to the ice damning from the filters.
Recently the service tech who they sent to try and rectify the problem last year Jamie called me directly stating that he left the company and explained to me that they messed up my house big time and that if their other customers had any idea of how shotty their filters had been installed as well that the company would be getting sued left and right. He also explained that many elederly get this product and have no idea that the issues their installers are causing are going to have long lasting negative effects on their homes.
As I stated I have called numerous very reliable roofing companies that inspected the job and all are in agreement that I now need a new roof and gutters, etc.....
This has been a nightmare from day one which still continues. Call another company to have gutter protection installed is all I can advise. I have learned that your best bet is to go through an actual roofing company and that most offer this service as well. That way you know you will receive a professional
job. With this company the customer is always wrong it seems. Google their reviews and you will discover the majority of people have had a negative experience with the company, Their franchises, and the product. I wasn’t going to leave a review but after the rain we received tonight and the water coming into my home I just could not control my frustration any longer. I am in the middle of a court battle as I write this but I don’t care. I wanna ensure that no one else is faced with my dilemma. Buyer beware is all I can say.

We certainly feel this review to be unfortunate. The customer has not provided any documentation to support his claims of damages. We also find it concerning that the customer was not requesting or allowing any remedies until a claim for payment was filed as no payment has been made. Should the customer wish to again discuss resolution we would encourage him to call
