I called October 3, to cancel my policy with Bankers LifeIt turned out to be the day the monthly payment was automatically withdrawn from my accountI did as instructed and wrote a letter to Bankers Life to cancel the policy and I also requested a refundI received a letter back stating the policy was cancelled effective October 1, 2017, with no cash valueThe premium withdrawn was $I was told when I called that I would be refunded the money and I would receive it as a check in the mail around October On October I called to find out when I will receive the check and was told that the money taken out of my account on October for $covered the first three days of the month, which makes no sense since that was the whole monthly premium, not the first three daysWhen I called, the person told me I will not be receiving a refundIf the effective date is October cancellation then why are they keeping my money? Bankers Life contacted me by email and stated they had reviewed my profile and “my skills were something they thought they could use”I contacted them and the rep made an appt for me for an interview on Dec28th@4pmThe rep requested that I come a few minutes earlierI arrived as agreed and two other applicants were thereAll three of us waited at least minutes and company rep never showedThis displays poor business practices and poor representation of what business performance guidelines should stateThe other two applicants reported to me that they had driven one hour away, I only drove 15-20minutes away yet inconvenience was a result for all of usInterview was to be at the *** *** Bldg just above *** mall and but no interviewDoor was lockedFedEx had left a notice on door , as wellCompany employees next door came out and reported “ not seeing anyone regularlyI heard someone coughing behind the doorI ,and another applicant , knocked and no one answered

My mother had *** insurance through Bankers Life & CasualtyShe received many services at her Assisted Care (including med distribution, assistance toileting, assistance dressing, assistance bathing, assistance transfering) ,but BLC would not pay because it was not a "nursing home." My mother then moved into a hospice facility with hour nursing care for the last months of her lifeBut again, because it was not licensed as a traditional nursing home, they kept denying coverageThey would also keep asking for information we had already sentThey do not assign an agent to your caseSo when calling, you always get someone new which requires you to explain your story over and over againThey never call backInstead you get another letter stating materials are missing - when they're not! The hospice facility director finally submitted mom's care broken into personal care hoursThey finally paid, but only for monthsAnd it took hours and hours of my time, the hospice director's time, and the facility director's timeBoth directors could not believe how terrible Bankers Life & Casualty is

In 2016, I made a request to cancel my insurance policy with Banker's LifeI told my agent at that time to issue the cancellationHe visited me at my home, I signed paperwork and assumed it was taken care of A year and a half later I received a call from a happy Bankers agent saying that he's my new repI told him my policy was cancelled, he said my policy appeared as active, and would look into itI never got a call back
From there I didn't hear from Bankers for a while and then suddenly I got a letter regarding my "policy"I have requested stop payments from my bank, called into customer service ###-###-#### several times to request cancellation (sometimes they confirm the policy is not active, other times they say I have a policy but it has no value, and I should not be billed--never a clear answer)To my knowledge I was able to prevent all unauthorized charges, but charges have appeared as different names (exBLL, Bankers, or Colonial) so it is harder to monitor my ac

My mother had a long term health care policy from Bankers and ever since she passed away on May I have been trying to get Banker to pay the last months of my mother policy I have had representatives from Bankers Life tell me the check is in the mail and no such check had been issues They continue to lose things I fax to them and are unable to receive any email attachments so they can continue to claim they never received the fax's The policy at Bankers clearly is to withhold any last payments to surviving heir's when a policy holder passes away I am unable to pay the last months of my mothers assisted living dues until Bankers pays out what is owed

I Barbara *** was looking into a life insurance policy to help my children in the future I had an insurance agent Kenneth H*** from Bankers life on 5//for !0,I thought everything was fine then on 05/03/they stopped taken money out for my daughter Holly *** insurance policy out of my bank account instead of hers with out athorization from me or her and they havent taken any money from her for hers and yet her policy is still open I lost my policy and a diffrent gentlemen came to me Jason t woods and told me about my policy and when I asked about what happened he said kenneth screwed he got fired then tells me he didnt work for then so then he proceeded to open a different policy and added both death policys accidental and natural for 8,on both I then asked again asked what the issue was with my policy he said the other guy had my address wrong and my acccount messed up so if that was the case then I asked why my daughters was comen out but not mine now

I would give them a zero if I could! The reps I presume are contracted out I presume overseas DO not read claims carefully, do not listen clearly I have had so many messed up payments that never get corrected If you need anything corrected you always need to go to a supervisor who is rarely available Even if you get a supervisor who assures you things are corrected they never get corrected Do not deal with this company--esp if you want to be put on hold 40+ minutes at a time There is no way to file a complaint to them either

This company is very unethicalDon't believe me read the other reviewsI was looking at doing business with the Richmond VA local office and was initially very interested and went ahead and filled out the application for a Medicare Supplemental policy and included my bank information to pay for the premiumsThis was a cold call sales tactic and I fell for it hook line and sinkerAfter researching the company I instructed the agent Robert ***, not to proceed and do not submit my applicationWell Rober *** submitted it anyhow and due to my own negligence I have been charged months premiums which was deducted directly from my checking accountI am ashamed of myself for not researching before filling out the application and more for not keeping better tabs on my bank account allowing premiums to be taken out of my account without realizing itI am more appalled with a company that allows such activities from its employees Shame on you Bankers Life you need to keep better tabs on your agent's underhanded activities

My Mother has paid on a Long Term care insurance policy with Bankers Life but now that we need to use this policy we cannot get them to pay For the last months I have tried to work with this company by sending in the required documents & information but every time we call to verify they received them they claim no documents were received First they said to fax them and gave me the number so my Mom's Droffice Faxed it to that number times, but they said they did not receive it So them we were told to Upload the documents to their website, the Droffice uploaded them times but again was told they still did not have anything Next the Drcalled Banker's life and re-uploaded the documents, they told the nurse that they received everything except for document so the nurse uploaded that form (although it had been sent with the other forms already) Today I called again (about work days later) and was told that they do not have ANY forms/documents on her at all!!! They lie They had most all the forms the previous week my Mother's Droffice nurse (Jenny) verified except for page that somehow did not go through This company seems to be stalling so that they do not have to pay out on this policy My Mom has sever dementia and broke hip/pelvis so has been living in a skilled nursing home(I have Power of Attorney for her) so she qualifies for this policy to pay Her Dr's office staff have informed me that they have had to work with Banker's Life insurance for other clients and had tons of issues with them in the past so I'm not the only person that has had these issues

During open enrollment in my husband and I changed our Medicare supplement coverage from *** ***/ Bankers Life to *** I notified *** *** of the change We had set up auto pay for premium payments to *** *** Our premium payments were continued to be withdrawn in 2018, even though I had notified them that we changed to *** I repeated the change in February and they then canceled my coverage but not my husbands I have been in contact with *** ***, specifically, Lynn *** and her manager, Renee at the Ann Arbor Michigan office I have also contacted the Livonia office, but they then just sent it back to Ann Arbor I have repeatedly sent them proof of coverage and I have been told that the check is in the mail, also told three different times that Lynn would hand deliver the check, which never happened Once because her knee went out, once family funeral, once just didn't show up along with it must have been lost and I would need to wait for
