Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.
Regards,
[redacted] Dear [redacted],Attached please find a copy of the letter I've sent to Macy's via certified mail. Apologies for not including you as ccd in the letter itself. However, I had no idea regarding who to cc on it at your office until after the fact and felt pressure to get it out asap before more time elapsed. Thank you very much for your assistance with helping me to resolve this matter.February 8, 2017 Ms. Nancy MobleyMacy’s Executive OfficePO Box 8220Mason, OH 45040 Re: Macy’s Account Ending in [redacted]Revdex.com Complaint ID # [redacted] Dear Ms. Mobley: I am in receipt of your response to my complaint. I apologize for the delayed response, but have been away on extensive travel recently. I appreciate your willingness to help resolve this problem and your concern with providing excellent customer service. Unfortunately, until I received your response, this was not the impression I was getting from the other Macy’s Representatives with which I have interacted regarding this issue. I am enclosing the Authorization To Release Credit Information Form sent to me by Macy’s which I filled out and sent to Macy’s on 7/29/16 (I can also provide confirmation of receipt if needed). Thus, I am surprised that you indicate Macy’s has not received this document? You’re correct that it’s unfortunate you have no record of the payment in the amount of $80.59 which I originally made which should have paid off the original balance in full. Also, it is unfortunate that you do not have any record of the confirmation number (100112015) issued by the Macy’s Billing Department as this is what was given to me when I made the payment over the phone. I also made this transaction in the presence of a colleague while on speaker phone who could verify that this transaction did indeed take place as my colleague suggested I close my account simultaneously (an action I unfortunately did not take as I wanted to continue to shop with Macy’s in the future) as I did not need to have too many credit cards under my name. You are correct that this entire matter is a great inconvenience as I have a very busy business to run and have spent numerous hours attempting to resolve this problem. I had not had the time to research my bank transactions and out of principle felt that this should not be necessary given the fact that I received the confirmation number from your Billing Department indicating payment had been made. Unfortunately, since a great deal of time has elapsed it has become more difficult to track down this transaction through my bank. $80.59 is not a large sum for me to pay so this is not a matter of me not wanting to pay my debt to Macy’s, but more a matter of principle in that I already had gone through the process of making a payment to your Billing Department once and my belief that I should not have to go through the process of making another payment again. However, in good faith, If Macy’s does not have record of my original payment I am willing to make it again to resolve this matter once and for all. And, more importantly, to have the negative information you have provided to the credit bureau removed from my credit report (Macy’s has reported my balance as “charged off” and my account as “delinquent”). I am very diligent in paying my bills to other credit card companies and have never had a situation like this with any other company in the past.  I am currently being affected financially in a very negative manner due to the present situation and hope that this matter can be resolved soon. Thank You, [redacted] [redacted](202) 664-9656  Enclosure: Copy of previously submitted Release of Information Form CC: Michelle Denton, EsqWeinstock, Friedman and Friedman, PA

Re:  Macy's Store Account ending in [redacted]

Dear
[redacted]: ...

I am
in receipt of your recent complaint filed with the Revdex.com
regarding your Macy's Store account ending in [redacted].  As a representative of Macy's Executive
Office, I was asked to review and respond to your concerns on behalf of
Department Stores National Bank.

I
was disappointed to learn of the confusion you have experienced concerning how
your Minimum Payment Due is reflected on your Macy's online profile.  Please accept my sincerest apology for any
inconvenience this may have caused you.
We thank you for your feedback concerning your Macy's online profile and
we have forwarded your valuable feedback to the appropriate parties.

Your
Macy's online profile is designed to inform you of any account activity on your
Macy's Store account.  By selecting
“credit account summary” upon signing into your profile, you are able to view
your Statement Balance, Current Balance, Minimum Payment Due, and your Payment
Due Date.  While your Current Balance may
change with purchases, returns, or payments, at this time, your Minimum Payment
Due will not change.  Your online profile
will not reflect a change in the Minimum Payment until a new statement has been
generated.  The Minimum Payment Due that
reflects on your profile is a reflection of your Minimum Payment Due on your
current Statement Balance.  You are able
to view recent transactions and payments by selecting “recent account
activity”.

For
the billing statement for the period ending April 27, 2015, your account had a
Minimum Payment Due of $65.00 by May 27, 2015.
Because we did not receive the $65.00 Minimum Payment Due by your
Payment Due Date, a late fee of $25.00 was charged to your account.  The past due amount of $65.00 was added to
the Minimum Payment Due on the billing statement for the period ending May 27,
2015; which resulted in the Minimum Payment Due of $158.00, by June 27,
2015.  Records indicate you made payments
of $50.00 on June 10, 2015, $15.00 on June 17, 2015, and $80.00 on June 22,
2015.  Records also show your late fee of
$25.00 from May 27, 2015, was removed on June 12, 2015.  I have enclosed copies of the billing
statements for the periods ending on April 27, 2015, though June 27, 2015, for
your review.  As of the date of this
letter, your account has a balance of $1,942.59, with a Minimum Payment Due of
$64.00, due by July 27, 2015.

Additionally,
I understand that you are concerned with your Annual Interest Rate (APR)
increasing because of the May 27, 2015, missed payment.  Please be assured, we have determined the APR
on your account has not increased.  We
have also determined that there is no derogatory information reporting on your
credit profile as a result of the May 27, 2015, missed payment.

[redacted], thank you again for bringing this matter to our attention and
giving me the opportunity to respond.
Your business is important to us, as well as appreciated.  Please do not hesitate to call me at the
telephone number listed below if I may be of further assistance.

Sincerely,

[redacted]Re: Macy's Account ending in [redacted]    Complaint ID [redacted]Dear [redacted]:  I am in receipt of your complaint forwarded to us by the Revdex.com.  As a representative of Macy's Executive Office, I...

was asked to review and respond to your concerns on behalf of Department Stores National Bank.A review of our records confirms your account was set up on a short term forbearance plan for twelve months which reduced the amount of your payments and interest.  The terms and duration of this plan were agreed upon by you and set up on September 9, 2014.  The plan continued through October 2015.  On this plan automatic payments were made each month and you were notified by mail of our intent to withdraw the payment prior to the actual withdrawal.  The billing statement for the closing date of October 6, 2015, reflects the standard variable interest rate of 24.5% (not the reduced 3% rate shown on the previous twelve statements) and the end of the payment plan.  Our records also show that you contacted Macy's Executive Office on December 3, 2015, and spoke with Ms. Betty D. regarding an extension of the payment plan.  Ms. D. researched the matter and explained that in order to re-enter the short term forbearance program, you would need to wait twelve (12) months and have a different reason to qualify. We have received no payments since September 18, 2015, resulting in monthly late fees and interest charges to the account until the account charged off on May 8, 2016, with a balance of $2,232.87.  Your account was assigned to [redacted], an external collection agency.  Please contact [redacted] at ###-###-#### to make payment arrangements or a settlement offer.[redacted], thank you for bringing this matter to our attention and giving me the opportunity to respond.  Please do not hesitate to call me at the telephone number listed below if I may be of further assistance.  Sincerely,Nancy M.Macy's Executive Office###-###-#### Extension [redacted]cc: [redacted]    The Revdex.com

[redacted]   Re:  Revdex.com Complaint [redacted]        Macy’s [redacted] account ending in [redacted]...

Dear [redacted]:    I am in receipt of your complaint forwarded to Macy’s Executive Office by the Revdex.com.  As a representative of this office, I was asked to review and respond to your concerns on behalf of Department Stores National Bank.   Please accept my sincere apology for any frustration you may have experienced when trying to reach a Customer Service Representative to resolve this matter.  We do consider you a valued customer and it was never our intention to disappoint you.  As a company committed to outstanding customer service, Macy’s goal is to have professional and courteous associates available within every department so that all of our customers may have a positive and rewarding experience.  We thank you for your feedback as it assists us in understanding our customers’ experiences and directs our attention to areas in which we can improve our service quality.  Regrettably, our store associates do not have the ability to view credit accounts due to security purposes.   Per the terms of the Department Stores National Bank Credit Card Agreement, interest is charged on the outstanding balance of your account until the day you pay the full balance owed on that account type.  For example, if you have been paying only the minimum payments on your balance and you then decide to pay your balance in full, you will be charged interest on that balance from the first day of the billing cycle until the date that your payment is received.  This interest charge is for the money loaned to you during that period, and will appear on the next month’s billing statement.  This may result in a statement containing only an interest charge.  You can avoid being charged interest by paying your account balance in full every month by your payment due date.  In using your account, you consented to the terms of this Agreement, which includes a promise to pay for all purchases, as well as the late fees and interest charges.  Unfortunately, we do not offer a grace period for payment due dates.   Applying this billing policy to your Macy’s [redacted] account, the $2.00 interest charge that appeared on your May 30, 2016, billing statement included interest for the outstanding balance on your account between the bill date of April 29, 2016, and the date (May 29, 2016) that your $29.40 payment was applied to your account. The $2.00 interest charge that appeared on your June 29, 2016, billing statement included interest for the outstanding balance on your account between the bill date of May 30, 2016, and the date (June 27, 2016) that your $2.00 payment was applied to your account.    On July 8, 2016, you called and spoke to a representative, and, as a courtesy; the two (2) $2.00 interest charges were removed.  As a gesture of our goodwill, I have removed the $27.00 late fee and $2.40 interest charge that was assessed on your billing statement for the period ending April 29, 2016.  This resulted in a credit balance of $31.40, to which I have taken the liberty of sending a credit balance refund check for this amount.  You should receive this check under a separate cover at the address listed above within seven (7) to ten (10) business days.   [redacted], we understand you have a choice of where to shop and we are sorry we have disappointed you.  Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention and giving me the opportunity to respond.  If I may be of additional assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.    Sincerely,     Stephanie C. May 16, 2017   [redacted]   Re:  Revdex.com Complaint ID #[redacted]        Macy’s account ending in [redacted]   Dear [redacted]:   I am in receipt of your complaint filed with the...

Revdex.com, which was forwarded to Macy's Executive Office.  As a representative of this office, I was asked to review and respond to your concerns on behalf of Department Stores National Bank (DSNB).  We sincerely regret any frustration you may have experienced while attempting to resolve this matter.    The terms of the DSNB Credit Card Agreement (“Agreement”) state that if the minimum monthly payment is not received, late fees are applied to the account, and, for any month the balance-in-full is not paid, interest charges are assessed.  If you pay the balance in full on your first billing statement by the payment due date, you will not be charged interest for your purchases.  In addition, if you have been paying less than the New Balance on your account each month and you then decide to pay your balance in full, you will be charged interest on that balance from the first day of the billing cycle until the date that your payment is received.  The minimum interest charge is $2.00.  This interest charge is for the money loaned to you during that period, and will appear on the next month’s billing statement which may result in a statement with interest only.  You can avoid being charged interest by paying your New Balance in full every month by your payment due date.    My review of the account found that the billing statement for the period ending March 13, 2017, had a $21.27 balance, with a $21.27 minimum payment due by April 9, 2017.  When no payment was received by this date, your account was charged a $21.27 late fee and a $2.00 interest charge in accordance with the terms of the Agreement.  The billing statement for the period ending April 12, 2017, had a $44.54 balance with a $44.54 minimum payment (including a $21.27 past due amount) due by May 9, 2017.  When no payment was received, your account continued to be charged late fees and interest.  My review found that all late fees and interest were charged correctly.    On May 11, 2017, when you called to make a payment, you requested a late fee credit stating that you had not received your billing statement.  As a courtesy to you, our representative removed a $37.00 late fee from the account.  We received your $44.54 payment on May 11, 2017.  The billing statement for the period ending May 12, 2017, included a $0.14 interest charge resulting in a $36.86 credit balance on the account, for which a Credit Balance Refund check was requested on May 15, 2017.  Please allow seven to ten days to receive the check under separate cover.  Copies of your monthly billing statements for the periods ending March 13, 2017, through May 12, 2017, are enclosed as reference.    Per the terms of the Agreement, you agree to notify us promptly in writing if your contact information changes.  Until we receive written notice of your new address, we will continue to send statements and other notices to the address in our records.  This also includes updating your e-mail address when it changes.  Our records indicate that you elected to receive electronic notifications that your monthly billing statements were ready for viewing to the email address [redacted].  We have no record of an email address change and our records show that the notifications sent on March 16, 2017, and April 15, 2017, were both opened and read.   Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention and giving me the opportunity to respond.  I am sorry to hear that this matter led to you closing your account and hope that you will reconsider shopping at Macy’s.  If I may be of additional assistance, please contact me at the number listed below.   Sincerely,  Janice D. Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.   At this point the only thing that will resolve my complaint is for Macys to reinstate my account. If someone goes back and listens to the recorded conversations, the agreement to close the account was based on multiple Macys reps confirming that my balance and credit limit would be transferred. Once reinstated I will pay the account in full. Macys has been very unprofessional during this ordeal mainly because employees don't know or understand their employer's policies. Closing this account has adversely affected my credit score just as much as if I had late payments or had a charge off account.

My complaint has not been resolved.  The man I have been working with, Stephen, has been very professional and courteous, but Macy's HAS NOT RESOLVED THE ISSUE!!  I have been told the problem is a system wide glitch, but I can't believe it takes such a large company over 3 months to fix the problem.  Every month my bill is WRONG and I have to call to get the totals in order to pay the correct amounts.  I have been very willing to go along with the plan, but I am running out of patience and I am thoroughly disgusted that this hasn't been resolved.  I WILL NOT EVER WITHDRAW my complaint. [redacted]
