I am sorry but I am not able to accept Etihad's response to this issue I am extremely surprised at their response to resolve a situation that was entirely their fault with overbooked flights I have fairly tried to explain my position where I am not able to use their coupons or the miles Please publish this case to your portal for other consumers to learn from it I will pursue outside legal options with Etihad Appreciate your help Best

My complaint is not about the airline luggage policy. It is about the unacceptable request regarding cabin approved carry-on luggage on a connecting flight. The whole trip- two flights- was purchased as one ticket. Partner airlines communicate their luggage policy as passengers cannot be expected to make accommodations mid trip. If our carry-on luggage did not comply with Etihad airlines luggage policy, this should have been communicated to us when checking in for our first flight. American airlines, the partner airline, approved our carry-on luggage for the cabin and we had no problems boarding the first plane. In case of a full flight, Etihad airlines should have checked our cabin approved carry-on luggage at not cost. Please note that this was a return trip and that we had left Abou Dhabi for the states with the same carry-ons and had no problem boarding the Etihad plane then. I was charged $300 to check in one carry-on and had to throw away another perfectly new one, which I will have to pay to replace.

 I was told by CBP they will not be seizing the bags but just the restricted items which is rice in this case. The other items are pickles and spices which are not perishables and can be stored for few months. How can my bags be perishable? I paid nearly $225 for each of the suitcases.I need you to prove that the bags were seized by CBP and show me the evidence. How do I know it was not lost by your personnel like the other bag?

The response does not address the fact that (1) I did not attempt to travel and canceled my ticket before my flight as I was denied my visa to India based on racial discrimination, and more importantly (2) Etihad promised me over the phone that they would reimburse me for my ticket, then refused to do so. Finally (3) I have already communicated with the booking company I booked through and they informed me that Etihad is the ultimate decider of this issue and not the booking company. I demand to be reimbursed my ticket fair as promised. I am absolutely disgusted with Etihad's dishonesty and poor customer service. They have robbed me of nearly $500.

the case was handled and addressed by both Etihad Airways and Jet Airways. In accordance with our codeshare flight alliance policies and regulations, the operating carrier takes full responsibility for the passenger claim.   As Jet Airways was the initial operating carrier from Delhi to Abu Dhabi flight [redacted] on the ** March 2016, they would be in the best position to address the concerns you have raised.   In recognition of her value to Etihad and as a measure of goodwill, Ms Love was offered 20,000 Etihad Guest Miles via the case under reference [redacted]. I note that she was also offered 3,000 Jet Privilege Miles by Jet Airways. Miles.   The Etihad Guest miles can be utilised towards future Etihad flights and/or any of the 6000+ rewards available on the Etihad Guest Reward Shop [redacted].   Guests may also choose to convert their miles to points or virtual credit with Points Pay which can be used anywhere that accepts [redacted] card, both online and in stores; over 30 million different options. respond accordingly.   [redacted]’s  concerns are with his damaged baggage on arrival into Dallas. We have informed [redacted], under the case reference [redacted],  that all baggage claims are to be registered immediately upon arrival and required to obtain a Damage Baggage Report. Furthermore, there is a time frame on reporting such damage.   In accordance to Article 16 (Time Limitation on Claims and Actions) and Article 16.1 (Notice of Claims) of our General Conditions of Carriage; which stipulates the following;   ARTICLE 16: TIME LIMITATION ON CLAIMS AND ACTIONS 16.1 NOTICE OF CLAIMS Acceptance of Baggage by the bearer of the Baggage Check without complaint at the time of delivery is sufficient evidence that the Baggage has been delivered in good condition and in accordance with the contract of carriage, unless you prove otherwise.   If you wish to file a claim or an action regarding Damage to Checked Baggage, you must notify us forthwith after you discover the Damage, and at the latest, within seven (7) Days of receipt of the Checked Baggage or in the case of lost baggage within seven (7) days of the date the Checked Baggage should have arrived. Every such notification must be made in writing.   Reading the history of [redacted]’s  reservation, his date of arrival was * February 2017 and his  initial email was sent on * March 2017.   In view of the above, we have already informed [redacted] that we will not be in a position to consider his claim at the time.
