I took my car to [redacted] April 8th and was told I did not need a fuse boxI needed a fuel pump

I took my car in for brake repair beause my rotors which were installed by Meinike were warped This caused my steering wheel to vibratewhen braking
On 3/26/I took my Toyota Camry to Meineke to have my car looked atThe only company that has ever done any work on my brakes is MeinekeI noticed that my steering wheel was starting to vibrate when braking on the highwayOver a few months it got progressively worse It was beginning to feel dangerous A technician at Discount tire told me it sounded like warped rotors Meineke confirmed that on a phone call I was told the cost for replacing the rotors calipers and pads all the way around the car would be $after a 10% discount I asked for some type of releif due to the fact that this was the second time this had happened Nothing coujld be done I said I did not want to have the repair done because obviously the rotors were defective when thay were installed I was told they had changed vendors and would be insta

Please forgive the lateness of my replyI hope you will understandSince your original letter dated March we had a tragedyOne of our people was killed in a car accident on March Our goal is for every customer to be completely satisfied, We are proud of our customer service
recordAs the owner I take it as a personal failure whenever we don't meet that standard. On March 25th Ms *** called our service center concerned about a grinding noise or noise from the brakes and asking us to check them for herMike answered the call and invited her in for a free brake check which is something we offerShe brought the car in and one of our ASE certified Techs checked the brakes and did the usual point inspectionHe found the source of the noises she was hearing and some other important issues which Mike called her and discussed the findings with her and created an estimate for those items as well as offering to repair themShe approved the work at that timeShe wasn't at the center waiting but walking around the areaA *? time later she arrived and asked to see what was wrong, so Mike took her into the shop and showed herWe completed the work while she waitedshe paid the bill and leftThe next day she called first thing in the morning and complained about the ratio of parts to laborMike did his best to explain her invoice and the charges on it but she wasn't satisfiedShe made it clear that she was going to call our corporate office and she did that on Monday morningThey called us we explained the situation and they spoke to her again after that time I called her myselfI tried my very best to clear it upUnfortunately for all of us I was not successfulTo be clear we never ever under any conditions do any repairs without approvalHer claim that we did the work without approval or somehow refused to put her vehicle back together for her is falseIf someone doesn't want to us repair their car that is their choiceWe are not the police and cant force anyone to do anything and certainly couldn't make the pay for it if they didn't want toWe use an industry standard labor guide that specifies labor charges for repairsIt's purpose is to level the playing field, if a tech has little experience a customer shouldn't pay more because he isn't as familiar with a job and someone that has rience and has invested in tools that make his or her job easier shouldn't be penalized for being efficientThe same labor guide is used by just about every garage and dealership in the countryIt has long been our policy to take people into the shop and show them what their car needs and Mike did show Ms*** what we had foundMike didn't intend to sound "smart" anymore than I had an attitudeWe are both trying answer Ms ***'s concernsHe was trying to be helpful and it is our policy to use whatever coupons or advertised specials that are available even when not presented at time of saleMike did that, the lifetime brake pads on the front and on the rear were an advertised special Free with installationThere was a coupon for up $off on more than $he doubled thatThe test drive was not $and the brake check is freeThe charge on the invoice that is $is for an alignment which is done after any steering or suspension work is done ( otherwise tire wear can suffer as well handling) and includes a test driveIt states that in the description and I think that is the confusion over that comes fromAll of the work that was performed has a month mile :: the brake pads and hub bearing have lifetime warranty the alignment month or miles.Thank you for your assistance, I hope this helps
Sincerely

Response is contained in the attached handwritten letter

This is the 2nd time Ms *** has contacted the Revdex.com, although I do not see previous complaint in the historyMost of the facts of this matter are unchanged and are for the most part agreedMs *** came in on 12/for new tires which we providedAt no point did we even open the hood of the car
nor come anywhere near the engine compartmentWe can show this on video from our security system. The 2nd complaint, about the VVT solenoid which went bad sometime before 1/2, is an entirely unrelated part of the car, tucked in behind the engine under the valve coverIt is not reasonable to suggest that changing the tires could cause that solenoid to start leaking oil. Ms *** states in her Revdex.com complaint that she "TOLD HIM THAT THE PROBLEM HAPPENED AGAIN"I called Ms *** per her request, and asked her to come in so we could look at the problem, but she refused and just indicated she just wanted to take the car to the dealerAt this point, we have no ability to determine the validity of her complaintShe did say something about tire pressure sensor, which is, again, a totally different part of car from the engine solenoidTherefore, we consider the matter closed, and all Meineke warranties are voidAs it states in our warranty agreement, "This warranty does not apply when corrective action and / or the warranted part is removed by any facility or person other than an authorized Meineke Car Care Center."

They posted a flyer stating a price for lawn service in the springThe price was hand written, so the offer was not site-unseen We contacted and arranged for service for the season We prepaid two mowings for AprilAll went well Not the best job, but it was good enough It was to be every other Friday After seeing the grass had not been cut regular, I contacted the service The owner stated that we had moved out We never contacted him that we moved, nor did he ask Then he stated that we had a swamp in the back yard April/May bring showers Yes, the yard will be wet Then he finally said it wasn't worth his time Finally, the truth Make an offer for service, but then back out Avoid this contractor

Complaint Information:
I had received a call from *** on 5/23/stating that his wheel had come looseAfter *** had explained the situation to me I addressed the issue with the business ownerThe conclusion that the owner and myself came to was that too much time had lapsed between the wheel installation and the problem occurringAs a company we always stand behind our workIn this case though too much time has passed since the wheels were installedIt is my belief that if the wheel had come loose as a fault if improper installation it would have happened mush sooner than after almost three months timeThank you, *** *** Manager, Meineke Discount Mufflers

overcharged for svcscharged for than quoted and tried to tell me it was my fault
dropped car off for rear brake svc on March 2nd days later, car was ready, but they were trying to charge more than $above the agreed upon price, and was told they needed to bleed the brake system, which costs extracar still doesn't stop when braking took car elsewhere to get service and 2nd opinion was told that brake system does not appear that it was bled at all in fact, it needed to be flushed because of the fluid they added to itwhen I dropped off the car, I was also told I could get 10% off the price if I gave a positive *** review, which I thought was very shady and dishonestafter contacting corporate, I received a call from*** at this local Meineke, and he was very hostile and threatened me with a slander lawsuit I don't even know what I paid for, since supposedly I paid for rear brake service and bleeding of the brake system, but was told the brakes were never bled

I talked to him and asked if I charged him the correct price and told him to come back and I’ll write him the right receipt for $95. This is how much he paid and how much he agreed to pay. That day it was very busy so I made a mistake and wrote him the wrong receipt. I asked
him to come in and I’ll give him the correct one. I am not giving him a refund for a mishap with a receipt

I will be calling the customer back to replace belt at no charge my manager should have done this to begin with that is my only solution I have for this problem

Very happy with the results of my driveway by Zaid ConcreteWould highly recommend to anyoneGreat service

*** *** had his daughter's vehicle towed in on June 2013, while driving the vehicle it died like it was not getting any fuel supplyThe vehicle did start right back up however it would not go into gear and would not driveThe vehicle had two problems that caused the vehicle to die the MAP
(Manifold Absolute Pressure} Sensor and the EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) valve were both not functioning properly and fouled out other componentsThe transmission had failed as well which is why the vehicle did not go into gear*** *** was the primary contact and the individual who authorized the repairs, both the repairs in question and previous repairs performed to said vehicleThere were additional individuals: mother, daughter and fiance (I believe he would not identify himself) that would call in for status updates throughout the repair process however *** *** was a!ways the contact and decision maker for repairs, only his phone number and address were ever provided*** *** advised that due to his daughter's condition they were in a financial tough spot to which we offered a payment plan on good faithThe last payment that was received was on September On one of two occasions when the customer was reached since payment had stopped, he contacted the center late March he advised that the vehicle had recently been driven without oil and the engine had failedHe then offered it as a form of partial payment towards the balanceAt which time I told him that would not be a viable option as well as the current outstanding balance which he acknowledged and claimed he would start paying againAfter numerous failed attempts at contacting; the customer was submitted to a debt recovery company on July This was over a year from the original repair and eleven months from the last paymentThe company sends out nine notifications, five letters and four phone calls before being submitted to a collections agencyIt was after these notifications when *** *** contacted the center expressing that he did not feel culpable for outstanding balance even though he had previously offered the vehicle as a form of payment and claimed he would and when asked for assistance with resolution he declined. In conclusion it has been over a year since the initial repair and eleven months since that last payment towards the repairIn the eleven months since the last payment there were two occasions when he contacted our facilityThe first he offered the vehicle as payment and promised payment would start againThe second occurred only after he was submitted to a debt recovery company several months later*** *** brought the vehicle in on more than one occasion, only ever provided his information in the repair processes and authorized repairs

Complaint* ***
I am rejecting this response because:
The noise I described was a whining sound and not a "helicopter" sound, I do not believe they would have properly diagnosed and repaired the issues Also the noise was not a "new" noise as Mr *** claims, it was the same exact noise I believe that Meineke preformed poor service and is attempting to cover their mistakes by claiming It was an entirely different problem
Sincerely,
*** ***

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 10, 2015/12/30) */
She came here earlier in the month, and if you look at her receipt she was here and said she had a problemShe never called me after thatShe said the problem lasted two weeks and she said the car was leakingShe said she never had a chance
to get it taken care of and would bring it back however, she never called me or anythingShe finally called me until the car stoppedShe kept driving the car even whens he knew she had a problemThere was no way for me to tell what was going on with it while she kept driving itI can't do anything to fix this, and I mean what can I do? I told her there was a problem and she continued to drive it until it broke downShe even had her father look at it and she stated she was too busy to bring it backShe wanted me to do something for her after her car broke down and there is nothing I can do

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the responseIf no reason is received your complaint will be closed Administratively Resolved]
Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: The labor ratio was never explained to meThey told me my parts were expensiveWhen I called the next morning complaining about the bill I was told that they had the parts in stock and they weren't that expensive If a company wants to pay an employee for doing there job well that is fine, but the customer should not be charged for hours not spent on the vehicle

This is in response to the above referenced complaint. *** *** *** ***(ECD) set the modular house for the ***’s on January **, Everything was
going according to schedule until late March 2014, when the ***’s mentioned they wanted to move into their home even though our work was not complete & they did not have a legal CO. We tried telling them several times that it was not a good idea, it would interfere with our work & also NYC required a CO before moving in They insisted and finally after weeks of them basically begging we gave up & they moved all their furniture in the first weekend April As soon as they moved in, they changed their locks & *** *** advised us that no one form ECD would be allowed in her home unless it was cleared by her & someone was in the home with us at all times After that, we could not get in touch with them for several months. We tried sending e-mails & making phone calls; we wanted to get back & finish, but we received no response Finally, approximately end of July they started communications with us again From that time we scheduled several dates to go to their home & discuss the punch list & questions, but they post phoned or cancelled the appointments We also tried setting up appointments to help get the proper inspections so they could obtain their CO, but they ignored filing the proper paperwork & cancelled the necessary electrical inspection a few hours before it was to be done. Todate, they still do not have a legal CO They owe us $17,that was originally due the day of the set (Jan**.) We have an e-mail from her stating she would pay it with in days, but now months later they are refusing to pay us After many failed attempts, we have finally met with the ***’s in September We reviewed and discussed the punch list with them We have never refused to finish our work. In fact, despite everything, we are currently working on their house addressing any item we can.
All we require is a signed Punch list, which by both parties agree & approve. The ***’s are refusing to sign the punch list. Without an agreed, signed punch list, we have no direction to follow and items will just keep popping up & being added with no end in sight. ECD has been
extremely patient, professional and have never been hostile to the ***’s, it has been the reverse, and they are very hostile to us. Regardless, we want to finish this job
The ***’s need to provide us with a $17,bankers check for the amount that is past due & give us a copy of the banker’s check for the final payment owed, as stated in the contract & we will be glad to release the lien. Also, if they sign the final punch list, & are reasonable with the days they allow us in their home, we will be glad to finish up the project We can’t stress enough of how we would like to complete this project and be doneThe only thing holding it up the project is the ***’s
Thank you

I gave her an estimate on the remaining repairs for $and some change, which was a power steering pump and hose and she declined the offers I madeI made a note of this in our systemShe came in for the rack & pinion because it was
diagnosed by someone else, not us, but we did recheck everything for her for no chargeWe found other leaks that we notified her ofI told her I could do the repairs to fix these leaks, but she declined the offer, and that is when I noted it in our systemI haven't done anything wrongThe fact that she is calling you guys does not make sense, and now you guys want to play let's make a dealI diagnosed issues for her and she declined them
