Review: I had my air conditioning recharged at Meineke in [redacted]. The work was performed on 7/7/2014 and paid in full. The service has a 90 warranty. I made an appointment and return the vehicle on 7/26/14 and stated to the manager that the A/C was warm and blowing out of the duct-work at 60 degrees. It normally should be 50 degrees. The manager tried to tell me that the radiator fan was bad and gave me an estimate for $762.68. I left and made an appointment at the local Jeep dealer on 8/9/2014. The Jeep dealer checked the A/C unit and told me that it wasn't charged properly and was low on Freon. They recharged the system and checked for leaks. The system works great now and the temperature is 48 degrees. They also verified I did not need a radiator fan. I paid $132.89 to the Jeep dealer to recharge the system. Meineke charged $87.69 for the same service that didn't work.Desired Settlement: Initial charge of $87.69 from Meineke. I have the initial receipt of $87.69 from Meineke, the quote of $762.68 for the unnecessary work and the $132.89 receipt from the Jeep dealer if you require any of them.

Response:

To whom it may concern, I am writing in response to Mrs. [redacted] complaint (ID# [redacted]). First, to address her confusion on the Air Conditioning repair that the vehicle needed-The vehicle came in with no air conditioning, after the inspection it was found that the vehicle was out of refrigerant. It was explained to Mrs. [redacted] that we would have to perform a re-charge service to the AC system, it was likewise explained to her that there was an obvious leak in the system (otherwise the refrigerant would still be in the system) and part of this service included the injection of a sealer and a leak detecting dye. The sealer injected will seal smaller leaks and the dye was to be able to detect any additional leaks should the leak be larger than the sealer could repair. The Vehicle left our shop with the AC functioning and blowing cold air. She returned one month later as the AC had begun to blow warm air again, we re-checked the vehicle and because of the dye found, the AC compressor was leaking refrigerant and needed to be replaced, with no other leaks detected at this time. We did the repair and fixed the issue the vehicle came in with, again re-performing the same AC service at no cost as well as the Compressor replacement. The service again included sealer and dye, as always, an additional leak could be present and undetectable until the larger leak had been sealed. With regard to her second concern, the heat was not working and it was discovered after the inspection that the heater core was clogged. I explained to Mrs. [redacted] that we could try to flush the heater core as we have had success with clearing clogged heater cores should the blockage not be too severe. We both jokingly discussed crossing our fingers and saying a prayer it would work. I was very clear in my explainantion that I could not be one hundred percent sure the service would clear the blockage, as there is no way of knowing how severe it was until we tried to clear it. We did NOT flush the entire cooling system, just the heater core, I NEVER claimed or implied that we were going to flush the entire system because, the heater core is separate of the rest of the cooling system and there was NO REASON to perform that service. Both the Oil Change and the Heater core flush were completed without a doubt. After flushing the heater core there was a slight improvement, and I suggested she drive the vehicle to see if any remaining clogs would clear under driving pressure/conditions. The heater core was still clogged to the point of needing replacement, the price given to Mrs. [redacted] for the replacement of the heater core was less the Heater core flushing plus as many discounts as I could apply, $250 in total. The price she was quoted for the repair was far lower than any other price she could have gotten, as I was trying to help her any way I could in getting her vehicle repaired. I unfortunately feel like Mrs. [redacted] is trying to take advantage of me and my kindness at this point, I have always gone above and beyond in trying to help her repair her vehicle at lowest possible cost to her, no other car repair facility would have taken the amount time we did to try and avoid unnecessary repairs as we did. We did everything we possibly could to repair her vehicle at the best price I could possibly give her. Any and All services that were paid for were absolutely performed. Thank you for your time in this matter Respectfully Submitted, [redacted]

Review: I had my car serviced on July 23rd of 2015 for 590$ had to bring it back on the 24th only to bring it back on September 3rd for the same problems I had on the 23rd of July, now they tell me its something else and wants to charge me 400+$ I don't think I should be paying anything because the same problem has not been fixed like I was promised.I don't know am I suppose to pay 4&500$ every monthDesired Settlement: I want my car fixed properly somewhere else and they can pay for it,because it's clearly they don;t know what there doing. Thanks

Review: Over the phone they stated there was a free estimate and further added that there was a lifetime warranty. I went in for the free estimate, stopped in the next day to have the work done. The work was done, I signed the paper and they said something about a 1 year warranty. Now there is a big difference and so I asked what about the lifetime warranty..They said they didn't know nothing about that... pressed a bit further, he told me he didn't write the ticket up. I asked who did, I'm annoyed now because there is a big difference in lifetime vs. 1 year. I can't prove what they said over the phone, probably just to get me in there, but they said it and it played a large part in my having the car serviced there. Anyway, the work is done at this point and there is no use arguing with these people.

I am fully concerned though for the following reason: they cut my original exhaust system out and replaced it with parts of their own making, they bent the pipes themselves, welded them on and the hangers too. Now if a part of this system goes down I have to go back to them to have it fixed as it is no longer an original system. Therefore the lifetime warranty comes into play at any point in the life of the system.

I had no idea that they would cut out and replace the original parts with those of their own making. That immediately raised concerns and I had to sit there waiting for 3 hours as they piddled around bending pipes to fit when they could have just used off the shelf parts readily available. I asked why they were taking so long and not using available parts, they said it would cost too much.Desired Settlement: Extend the lifetime warrany. or

Refund the money. or

Pay all costs to have the exhaust system replaced with OEM parts.

While it is true Mieneke Offers lifetime warranty on some mufflers. Mr. [redacted] was given an estimate that would of included a lifetime muffler but he declinded. Then the price was adjusted and an estimate given for 1yr and the other repairs. Mr [redacted] left and returned the next day signed the new deal estimate which stated 1 yr and all other conditions he signed and we delivered...sorry if he assumes he should received an even chea[er del but again all was in writing. average mufflers last 4 years

I am rejecting this response because:

Nonsense. Typical nonsense reply. Fantasy other repairs, fantasy other price.

Wasted 3 hours of my life there. Got who knows what kind of muffler or pipes

and no warranty.

Review: My first tire rotation was about a year ago. Three lug nuts came off after a month of driving the vehicle. Manager Dan A[redacted] was informed and told me that he would speak with the tech rep about this.

My second tire rotation was fine-- no problems.

My third tire rotation is where the nightmare begins. Below is a dated account of what happened:

8/21/15: I brought in my MDX, which had no issues-- it was just being serviced for normal tire rotation. My driver side rear tire came off while on [redacted] in [redacted].

8/22/15: At 8:30 AM, I found that the passenger side front tire had 3 lugs almost off. I reached out to [redacted], but they did not have tow service. I contacted Rogers Automotive (###-###-####)-- submitted a faxed bill for $75.00 road service call to Leah Tate, Customer Relations Representative of [redacted]. I had my car brought to [redacted] Automotive in [redacted], CT-- submitted to Leah T[redacted] a faxed bill for $943.22 detailing expenses incurred due to faulty installation by Meineke. I also had to get a rental car from [redacted]-- the bill for which was also submitted by fax to Leah T[redacted], Customer Relations Representative of [redacted].

8/24/15: I presented photocopies of these bills to Lou, who was substituting for manager Dan A[redacted]. Lou said that he would give Dan the bills on 8/25/15.

8/25/15: I called Dan, and the records had not been given to him by Lou.

8/28/15: I again made copies of the bills and presented them to Dan A[redacted], who mentioned that he would forward them to the owner Ross H[redacted] for his review. Dan also gave Mr. H[redacted] my cell phone number. To date, I have not received a call from him.

9/14/15: The bills I faxed total $1,223.92, not counting the dangerous situation I was put in (as well as fellow motorists). Fortunately, no one was injured.

9/16/15: The above information was e-mailed and all bills and documentation were faxed to Leah T[redacted], Customer Relations Representative of [redacted]. She responded that she would contact the branch manager of Meineke in [redacted].

As of today, 9/30/15, I have received no response from Mr. H[redacted].Desired Settlement: I am looking for full reimbursement for bills incurred by me in the amount of $1,223.92.

Review: May 2th, 2013 - Meineke replaced the catalytic converter on my 1999 Ford Windstar. June 25th, 2013 - I took the Ford Windstar to my mechanic to change the rear shock and at the same time I asked him to check the catalytic converter because I kept hearing a rattling noise. The mechanic told me that the catalytic converter was not welded properly and to take it back to Meineke for repair. The same day I went to Meineke and told them of the situation. The manager refused to reviewed or fixed the catalytic converter knowing that the job done has a lifetime warranty. He seem annoyed/upset based on my mechanic's recommendation. Please note that my mechanic did not touch the catalytic converter at anytime because he did not make the repairs. June 26th, 2013 - I went back to Meineke and once again I asked the manager to check the catalytic converter and he refused again. This repair of the catalytic converter has a lifetime warranty on back of the Meineke's receipt.Desired Settlement: I want Meineke to repair the catalytic converter.

Response:

Dear, [redacted] in regards to mr. [redacted] calim we have replaced one catalytic converter of three on his car and we recommended some repairs to be done as well.weeks after he showed up at my store caliming that he went to another mechanic to do the recommended repair and the car has a leak . I put the car on the lift we found a crack next to the weld of out installed converter, so instead of adding more weld I had the technician take the whole piece a part and reinstall it with a new adapter. after repairs were done the technician took mr [redacted] under the casr showed him the new repairs(with the engine running) checked everthing ok and he recommended more work to be done and he left . weeks later mr [redacted] comes my store and he said his mechanic was working the car and he jammed or wedged something in the pipe and there is a leak so I explained to him if i`m going to fix that i`ll have to charge him because we didn`t cause that problem specially after we redid the job all over again everything was ok and he was under the car and checked everything bihimself with the technician besides I don`t understand why this mechanic oh his has to wedge or jam anything by the pipe if he wasn`t working there? so he mentioned warranty and I explained to him warranty doesn`t cover damage cause by other mechanic and he needs to go back to him to fix what he did, so he responded he doesn`t do welding so I said then i`ll charge you for it because thats not our mistake and he left

Review: Meineke Car Care Center #1935 worked on the brakes on my car (Oct 18, 2012 - June 16, 2013) Seven months and ONLY 2000 miles later my brakes broke. I didn't know what the problem with the car was. I was not driving it much and only in the city. When the clanging noise started my husband took it in to another National brand repair shop on the other side of Jersey City. They documented the problem as "Shop that installed rear pads installed inboard and outboard pads backwards causing hardware to break. reinstalled pads properly and replaced hardware kit." When I went to Meineke #1935 and asked the owner to pay for the cost of the repairs -It was 78 dollars -He told me he was not a charity and was giving me nothing and indicated I was there to take him. For 78 dollars. I thought, "IS he for real?!" I have all of this documented:)Desired Settlement: I want the cost of the repairs paid for and he can put it back on my card because I do not want to make another trip to this business. It is not that close and I did it once to resolve the issue to which the owner behaved very ignorant.

Response:

In regards to this matter repairs were done on Oct.2012 then on June of 2013 customer husband went for an oil change in an another chain store where they recommended some replacement of a hard ware kit for the rear brakes. first if brakes were installed wrong as they described it will cause noisy brakes the minutes the car will be driven which is not the case because the car was road tested aftter reapirs 6 month ago and customer left with the car in good brakes conditions otherwise she would of heard this noise right away , or lets just say the noise came back a week later why did the customer waited for six month to take care of it ? and why not coming to my store to check it out as she is warrantied by my store? why going to another store?customer claims she was outside the country! but not for six month. besides this problem if really existed is not a safety issue so they could of declined repairs and brought the car to my store for repairs. the truth is the husband has position of the car went for a discounted oil change and they tried to make a sale(main goal of cheap oil change is to bring customers to the store to make a sale)he agreed she comes back from trip money were spent and she is trying to make the money back by coming to my store threatining that she is an online marketer she knows retail besuniss and she will blast my business all over the internet if I didn`t pay !!! even though she knows she was wrong , the sad part is all that is about $78.00 which I would of paid if we really did anything wrong but it is the principle I don`t respond to threats nor lies . I have done repairs on cars under warranty costs way more than that because it was simply legitimate not made up

Response:

I am rejecting this response because:

First, I apologize for taking a little time to respond

because as I told the Owner of the Meineke on Kennedy Blvd. I have been

traveling outside the country this year and am not always in the Jersey City

area. Second, after I tried to reason with the Owner of the Meineke on Kennedy

Blvd that he should pay for his error because his business is to install brakes

and the brakes were INSTALLED WRONG AS IT IS CLEARLY STATED ON THE RECEIPT FROM

FIRESTONE(see firestone receipt for verification), he started coming up

with excuses why he would not pay for

HIS mistake. He actually told me he was the person who installed the brakes too

but still he didn't think it was his responsibility to make HIS MISTAKE right.

1) He told me that it had been eight months since the installation

and that I already drove 2000 miles on the brakes (as verifiable by the

odometer readings on both receipts).

Well, this was my point. Over eight months and ONLY 2000

miles was because I was not always driving the car due to travel outside the

country and therefore that is why it took time for the problem to manifest.

Also, before it was taken in to be fixed, I thought the problem was the

muffler. While I was traveling my husband took the car to be fixed so I could

drive the car when I returned. He took it to Firestone and they told him that

the breaks were INSTALLED WRONG. This was not a case where the brakes hardware

were faulty etc. . .The OWNER OF THE MEINEKE ON KENNEDY BLVD. ACTUALLY

INSTALLED THE BRAKE PADS THE WRONG WAY!!! Therefore, this Owner of the Meineke

on Kennedy Blvd. is not just a bad business person but he was actually

negligent at his job of installing the breaks.

2) He told me that my husband should have brought the car

back to his shop

Well I understand that according to the warranty, the

meineke shop should be able to address and repair issues first, When the brakes

were installed wrong in the first place there is already a breakdown in the

contractual agreement between the consumer and the business owner. I should be

able to expect that when I hire a business to install my breaks, the brake

installation is done correctly. Furthermore, my husband did not feel safe

driving the car once he was aware the BREAKS WERE FAULTY. Maybe the Owner of

the Meineke on Kennedy Blvd. would allow his family to drive around in a car

where the brake pads were installed incorrectly but. . .

3) After, the Owner of the Meineke on Kennedy Blvd used

these excuses for why he should not pay for HIS FAULTY INSTALLATION of my

breaks and I did not go away, he told me, I looked desperate and that I needed

money so I was there to extort him. He went as far as accusing the people at

Firestone of being in on it. He started to sound crazy.

His response was bizarre and the truth is I didn't expect

him to be so adamant about not wanting to correct his mistake. I had nothing

left to say regarding the refund.

It was at this time that I pointed out to the Owner of the

Meineke on Kennedy Blvd. that he was being ridiculous for not making HIS

INSTALLATION MISTAKE right and that I

would write an online review warning people of the Owner of the Meineke on

Kennedy Blvd's NEGLIGENT BEHAVIOR. and that as an online marketer I believed he

would loose customers because he was being a negligent business person and it

would cost him more than what it would cost the Owner of the Meineke on Kennedy

Blvd to make HIS NEGLIGENT INSTALLATION MISTAKE right.

The Owner of the Meineke on Kennedy Blvd INSTALLED MY BREAKS

WRONG and should refund me period.

Thank you for time and attention to this matter. I have

attached the receipts for review.

Review: Upon making an appointment with Meineke and explaining that we needed our vehicle to pass emissions, we went in to see what was causing the check engine light to be activated. Meineke took the car in on 7/25/15 for the majority of the day. We made it clear that the ONLY thing that needed to be fixed was the cause of the check engine light. A service member called that day to inform us of what seemed to be minor repairs that could be addressed in addition. Our exact response was, "As long as the check engine light issue is fixed, we will allow the other repairs." We were charged $63.99 for our brakes to be bled and the fluid replaced, which should have been done the last time we were at Meineke and they maintained our brakes, but they had not done it. We paid $25 for an oil change that was advertised for $14.95. It cost us $159.95 for a fuel system cleaning kit and fuel induction services which rendered NO verdict as to why the check engine light was still on. There was a $100 labor charge for taking less than one minute to get the evap code on the computer which local places do for free. They then went on to charge $22.95 for two squeaky, streaking wiper blades, and $79.99 for a tire alignment. After all of these obscene charges, they never solved the initial problem. The total after taxes was $533.06. The check engine light was off for two days.

When the light reactivated we contacted Meineke immediately and we were greeted with a ridiculous offer to take our car (only vehicle) for three days. No average family can loose their only transportation for three days. We have a newborn and both are employed. Returning for the second time to resolve the same issue, the mechanic tried to tell us that the heat expanded the gas tank and it is causing the light to activate. Obviously, this is not an educated response. We chose to take our business elsewhere since Meineke blatantly said that they could not assist us any further without confiscating the care for several days. The new mechanic was able to let us know that Meineke had damaged our gas nozzle entrance area by forcing our cap-less flap open with tools instead of the provided funnel located in the car.

Today (8/8/15) we went to a local shop across from Meineke. Within three hours the mechanic identified the actual problem which was a simple part change. The part cost us $80 and was installed immediately while we waited. We were then able to pass emissions that same afternoon. While Meineke claims they were unable to locate the issue with two days of time and $533.06 of our hard earned money, this mechanic had everything up and running in a matter of a couple hours. This is completely unacceptable! I am disgusted with our interactions with both the mechanics and management staff. Meineke has lost loyal customers. It this is not able to be solved through Revdex.com, we will be writing to the Attorney General as well.Desired Settlement: We understand that the amount spent on parts is not reasonable to request a refund for. However, we are requesting a refund for the $63.99 brake job that should have been completed when we last did our brakes with Meineke. We also want to be refunded for $50 induction service, and $100 shop labor for diagnosing the evap leak that was not addressed.

Review: I stopped in for a routine oil change and a brake inspection on my [redacted] with 55,000. I was quoted $1,100 for brakes, rotors, calipers, brake line flush etc etc. I felt it was too high and brought it to my mechanic and was told that I still had 30,000 miles left on my brakes, and there was NOTHING in fact wrong with my brakes. I happened to pop in to this shop to get a quick oil change and to check out the minor brake noise seeing I was in the area and my mechanic was booked due to the extreme cold air in our area. Stay away from this place!!Desired Settlement: I would like the $50 labor charge refunded to me, that I was charged from my mechanic.

Review: I brought my car to this Meineke after speaking to one of the employees about servicing my car.I was told to replace a part on my car required purchasing from a [redacted] Dealer or from Meineke.Once I arrived at the location Employee [redacted] preceded to get in the car to place it on the lift, that's when the issue had to ta,ke place. After my car was assessed, [redacted] got out the car I got in, when got to my destination I was not able to open the door on the driver side. I was only few blocks fron Meineke. Returned [redacted] denied any wrong doing he was able to open the.door. However. the next day I had the same problem.

On Nov. 14, 2015 I called and told Amend that when I got to on Friday Nov 13, 2015 I couldn't open the door I had to climb over to the passenger side. He told me to come back when I rreturned. Amend was rude and refused to fix my car. Said if talked nice to him the would help me.He had agreed to fix the car over phone once I got to the shop his attitude changed.Desired Settlement: I want to have all actions taken to get my car restored. I never had that issue of getting my car door open.

Review: meineke did work on my car on 8/14/13 at a cost of $120.00 and on 8/15/13 at a cost of $215.A total of $335.00 for installing a universal catalytic converter.drove to walden N.Y on 9/12/13.on the way back on the NYS thruway felt excessive heat on my right heal on the floor board.with in mins smoked filled the interior of my truck.was also coming thru my air vents.pulled over and noticed my floor board started melting and was bright red like red hot coals.even melted the heal of my right sneaker.asset the damage after pouring water and dousing the fire by the base of my gas pedal.no check engine light came on.even raised the hood.engine was intact and fully functional.continued on my journey home, even placed a towel below my right foot to keep the heat off my foot.on 9/12/13.went to meineke.explained to the owners son .who claims I made it all up and got billigerent and used profanity towards me(made a statement of this "F" guy etc)..was advise to go back to aamco, after I explained to him they dropped in a new engine back in March.way before any repairs at meineke.AAmco placed my car on the lift.they informed me someone cut and removed my oxygen sensor and the hole was plugged with solder.which was located on the y section of my exchaust pipe right belowmy right foot where the fire started.told the pressure built up and force a medium to large size hole on top the pipe just above where the oxygen sensor was supposed to have been located.my car is at aamco located at [redacted] jfk blvd.who called meineke concerning this issue.my vehicle to this date 9/15/13 is still at that locationDesired Settlement: I want meineke to repair the pipe ,replace my oxygen sensor and fix my floor board by my gas pedal at no cost to me.And hopefully replace my $49.00 nike sneakers and an apology from the owners son.And profanity can't be tolerated from this business.

Response:

in regards to this matter I have replaced a catalytic converter on the customer car a month later the customer came to the shop claiming that the part that I repalced exploded and put his car on fire and he was caught on fire !!!!!!! immediately I left the office to check his car which was drivable and no sign of fire so I put the car on the left and checked the part we replaced was in perfect condition the onlt thing I noticed was an oxygen sensor broke of the front pipe which is far from the work we did . so I asked the customer what fire you talking about? he answered "i don`t know I see something hanging there and i`m not paying for it someone will" . then he continued i`m trying to save some money to by a new car and i`m paying anymore money on this car . so I answered you can`t go arround making such claim as a scare tactic so people fix your car free this is your car and it is 1987 model everything is rusted thats why that piece broke besides if the converter I replaced exploded as you falsely claimed it would of been because you might have an engine issue. so he replies "engine ! aamco just installed aused engine for me last year ok they resposible for this someone have to pay, let take the car to aamco" I tried to explain to him that has nothing to do with aamco because nothing is wrong with the piece I replaced or the engine aamco replaced but he said let go to aamco see if they fixed free and left the shop.

Review: I took my car to Meineke Car Care on Monday the 14th of April for brake repair. My brake line had been contaminated with steering fluid. Meineke accept the job of repair and assured me they would call me with price before beginning. Meineke called me with a price of $675 for master cylinder replacement and draining the brake lines of which I agreed to pay. Two days later they called to inform me that they needed to change the calibers for an additional cost of $150 of which I refuse to pay. Finally they called me to come get my car. I came with $675 cash and after paying I was told I can't get a receipt until the balance of $150 is paid. I didn't agree to the extra. Furthermore, the brake lights are still on, the car makes noises. I want an itemized receipt showing the charges for all that was done, the brake light on the dash removed as a sign that the brakes are functioning properly.Desired Settlement: Complete repair of my car with the brake lights on the dash indicting problem removed, noises of grinding wheels to stop and a itemized receipt for $675. Response:

Dear Sir/Madam, customer statement is completely incorrect , as he brought the car to our facility after he and a friend of him(mechanic) put steering fluid in the brake fluid reserviour, and after several attempts by them to fix the problem the car had no functioning brake paddle . I exlapined to him at this point we need to repalce all hydraulic parts in the brake system(that include all calipers, hoses, master cylinder and abs hydraulic pump) and he said that he is retired on a fixed income as a matter of fact he will barrow some money to pay us to fix his car. so I gave him another option which is to check and complete flush to the sytem then test indivsiual component and whatever fails have to repalced and we have to keep the car several days specially when we have contaminated brake fluid in the system the full effect take place after a while and he agreed . after daignoses we needed to repalce two calipers then bleed the system , I called him and given him a price for two calipers , flush , bleed and diagnostic making sure after replacing this parts and test if any other part fails we will have to repalce it and he agreed and thanked me for doing this . after repalcing parts and test we needed one more caliper and I called him and told him about the additional price and he agreed and we repalced it . brakes tested ok customer came to pick car didn`t have full amount again claiming that he is on fixed income and barrowed the money, so I released that car to him on promise he will bring the balance later then I will issue him an invoice . so here we are again I try to help someone do more work than what I suppose to be not get paid fully for my work and i`m the bad person .

Review: ON TUES 5-7 2014 WAS TOLD BY THE MECHANIC THAT MY 2005 CHEV IMPALA NEEDED A NEW RESONATOR ON THE EXHAUST WITH 2 HANGERS. TWO FRONT STRUTS. INNER TIE ROD END AND OUTER TIE ROD END. ADJUST TWO WHEEL ALIGNMENTS. PRICE OF EXHUST WAS $178.66 WHICH INCLUDES $90.00 LABOR CHARGE. AND THE WHEEL SERVICE PRICE WAS $727.74 WICH INCLUDED LABOR FOR THE STRUTS OF THE AMOUNT $180.00 AND LABOR FOR THE TIE RODS $108.00 THEN THE LABOR FOR THE TWO WHEEL ALIGMENTS $72.OO. THE AMOUNT OF THE WORK CHARGED WAS $906.40. I WAS TOLD THAT I COULD NOT GET A COPY OF THE WORK UNTIL IT WAS DONE. WHEN I PICKED UP MY CAR I NOTICED THE STREEING WHEEL WAS STILL ASKEW..! I TOOK THE CAR BACK ON WEDS 5-8-2014 AND TOLD HIM..! HE SAID NO PROBLEM AND HE PUT MY CAR BACK ON THE LIFT ALINED THE STREEING WHEEL..! I TOOK THE LIBERTY TO LOOK AT THE THE SAID WORK THAT I HAD PAID FOR..! TO MY SURPRIZE THERE WAS NO RESONATOR....! HE JUST WELDED A PEICE OF PIPE THERE IN PLACE OF THE RESONATOR..! ALSO I WAS WAY OVER CHARGED FOR THE STRUTS..! ALSO NOW MY CAR HAS A SHIMMY WHEN I DRIVE..! HE DID NOT DO A WHEEL ALIGNMENT NOR DID HE FIX MY EXHUST LIKE HE SAID..! HE JACKED UP THE PRICE OF THE PARTS THAT WAS INSTALLED..! THEREFORE THE AMOUNT OF LABOR THAT I WAS CHARGED FOR IS NOT CORRECT..!Desired Settlement: I WANT TO BE MONETARY REIMBURSED FOR WHAT I PAID HIM..! NO..! I DO NOT WANT HIM TO DO ANY FURTHER WORK ON MY CAR..! HE IS NOT TO BE TRUSTED..! I JUST WANT TO BE ABLE TO GO SOME PLACE ELSE TO GET THE WORK DONE..! WITH SAID MONEY..! I HAVE A COPY OF THE BILL AND A RECEIPT OF PAYMENT..!

What a complete waste of time and money!!! I am pleading with you, if you like your car and don't have money to dispose of, find somewhere else to go. We used to use this Meineke and decided to return when they came under new management. BIG MISTAKE! We brought my car in with a simple request and ended up charged over $500 and two days later the problem returned! Guess who does not want to take responsibility and back up their work? You guessed it - Meineke on Washington in Middletown. If you chose to go somewhere else, good for you. If you make the mistake of going to Meineke, good luck because you'll need it.
Sincerely,
A truly pissed off customer.

Review: I took my car to have a diagnostic done. The company said I needed a timing belt and the catalytic converter. I got the timing belt fixed. Less than two weeks after the repair the car died on the highway. I only had a warning sign that day as I turned the car on. The "D" for drive was blinking as well as the VSA light was on. I only drove for about 15 miles before the car died. I took it back to the same shop only because they had just finished working on the car. For a week they had the car and I kept asking what was wrong. They told me that the computer board had wiped out and they didn't know what was wrong. I told the story to my co worker because he works on cars. He then asked to speak with the mechanics himself. The manager [redacted] stated that the computer was wiped out. [redacted] said well you just fixed the car and if the timing was off it can cause extensive damage. [redacted] said oh we worked on the car? I didn't check the repairs files. I will let you know. Four days go by I called with [redacted] on the phone and [redacted] stated that the three engine vales broke and there wasn't any compression. I asked how does that happened? The car isn't old you just worked on it. He became belligerent and stating that he has master mechanics. I then called [redacted] because it didn't sound right. I Picked up the car via tow and took it to [redacted]. They looked at the car and confirmed that [redacted] had damaged my car through their faulty repairs because the timing belt was off time [redacted] told me the car wasn't worth fixing. I called [redacted] back and they offered me $700 off the next repairs which are $4500 total. That to me wasn't acceptable. I called the corporation twice and still that is their offer. However during the recorded calls. The manager [redacted] has made two different claims in which none was true as to what happened or reported to us prior to the company fixing the van. The van is a Fully loaded 2007 [redacted] Odyssey with 145,000 miles. The car should not have died.Desired Settlement: To resolve this I am only willing to pay for the labor on the repair not the part. The labor was specified as $95 an hour and 12 hours needed to do the job which was quoted $1,140. I will not be moved due to all the other inconveniences that I had to endure such as not having a vehicle since June 26th.

Response:

In response to Mrs. [redacted] complaint (ID#[redacted]) I would like to respectfully submit our response to her claims. The vehicle in question a 2007 [redacted] Odyssey [redacted] was brought into our facility where Mr. [redacted] stated he was concerned about engine noise and a check engine light that was present. After a complete Diagnostic test is was concluded that the noise was due to a faulty timing belt tensioner and the Timing belt and Complete component kit were required to repair the vehicle, likewise a faulty Catalytic Converter was also detected. Mr. [redacted] authorized the Timing Belt repair and declined the Catalytic Converter replacement that was also needed at that time. The odometer reading on the vehicle at the time of the repair was documented at 144,485 miles. Upon completion of the repair, the vehicle was test driven and we confirmed that problem had been rectified. The vehicle drove perfect and the noise was gone. The vehicle was paid for and picked up. The vehicle was towed into the shop and the customer stated the car died and would not restart. The vehicle had been driven for almost 2400miles since the belt replacement and the converter had been found to be faulty without any incidents, complaints or concerns from Ms. [redacted]. The Vehicle's odometer reading on return was 145,854 miles. She did state in her complaint that the vehicle had given her the warning lights and yet she still drove the vehicle for what she estimated at 15miles while disregarding the warning lights before it died. The vehicles battery was completely dead from what I would assume, in my professional opinion, would be trying to start the vehicle after it had died, and did so until the battery died. Once the battery dies on a vehicle whatever trouble codes or diagnostic information would be erased in the on board computer system, or PCM. We had no information to go on in relation to the issues that caused the engine to fail. This would be comparable to a 'black box' on an Airplane. We were forced to check everything manually which does take a considerable ammount of time. We did recheck the work we had done, the timing was still set correctly so the work we had done could not have caused the failure. I gave Mrs. [redacted] a price for replacing the engine in the vehicle, and I also offer to reduce the job by the ammount of the parts we had used on the first job out of compassion for her situation. I was trying to help her however I could. She actually said that my compassion for her situation was taken as my admisson of guilt which struck me as strange, and couldnt be further from the truth. Something caused her engine to fail, and the lack of data makes it hard to determine why the warning lights were on when she chose to still drive the vehicle and it died; 2400miles after the timing belt replacement that was done correctly; (if the timing were off the car would have not run as well as it did for 2400miles); We also re-checked the belt to be absolutely sure. There is no way that Mrs. [redacted] can hold us accountable for an issue unrelated to the repair we did on her vehicle as a cause for her engines failure. A bad Catalytic converter which the vehicle has and she declined to repair, could have very well been the cause. The only thing I know for sure is that the repair we did was most certianly not the cause. I can provide the Documentation (invoices and estimates) if need be. If you can provide me an email address, I can send the documents to support the facts as stated. I could also fax the documents, please advise as needed. Thank You for your assistance in resolving this matter.

Review: 11/30/2013 I went to meineke care care and explained to them "[redacted]" that my car had poor front suspension. [redacted] proceeded and took my info and said he'll have the car looked at immediately. I spent 1hr waiting before they even brought my car inside to get checked, at the same time mike went ahead and printed me a quotation to replace all four struts $1200. First thing in my mind was why are they telling me to replace my rears knowing well I came for front suspension job. I asked mike why didnt you guys test drive the car first before concluding whats wrong, he brought me back in the shop where they had a mechanic with a flash light looking underneath it. [redacted] brought out some guy and told me he is the owner and could work out a price for me from $1200 to $960 and at the same time the guy owner is quoting me on tires and evidently I didnt need them. Right away I told them just fix the front [redacted] and the owner said there not going to give me discount since im not doing the rears as well. The owner said five hundred and something will be the price for the job, I said ok and proceeded home. At around 3oclock [redacted] calls me and leaves a message that the car is ready, I hurry to go get the vehicle before they closed for the day and as soon as I got in [redacted] said we did the front struts but the car still performs same due to something else, so I asked him why did you tell me to replace something thats not the issue. He said the amount will be $639 I paid to get the car and told me to wait and talk to the owner he has nothing to do with it. looked at the parts they charged me for and found out the only thing they did was shocks only car still drives rough same way it was beforeDesired Settlement: I need to get it fixed the right way or my money back

Review: My vehicle was brought to them for a repair. The first time [redacted] changed and replaced 700 dollers worth of parts and labor for something the vehicle never needed. That was the first time he tried to scam me . after an almost heated discussion he told me he would call me back, hours went by I got no call from

Him so went to speak personally . When I went down he told me sorry for the mistake that he would now fix the actual problem the vehicle was brought down for.

After he repaired the initial problem I drove off only to hear my car start screeching a few minutes down the block. I tought I needed breaks and forgot they had just replaced mines a few months prior . I brought my vehicle to another shop where they told me there was rust and foreign material stuck behind my rotors . It had gotten in there by the poor craftsmen ship work done at meinekess . Apparently after I aslo had them put in new struts there mechanic used no professionalism in making sure no debri got into anything else while he installed the new struts.also a few days went by and my vehicle started smoking inside as I drove around. I had my infant in the vehicle with me at the time and we were both coughing from the inhilation of the smoke. I also was getting sever headaches several hours after being in the vehicle .I called [redacted] on the issue he told me bring it in . He said it was a head gasket that wasn't put in properly.the next day I took my vehicle drove off after a few hours the vehicle began smoking again. I told [redacted] about it he said bring it in again so I did on Easter weekend . On Monday he called me said that he had installed a faulty gasket the first time and that the smoke was gone . I picked up me vehicle last night and 2 minutes later the car was smoking worse than before and giving me severe headaches from the smoke. I do not think he even touched the car at a all this time .Desired Settlement: To fix the damage they created while working on my vehicle

Review: I took my 2009 [redacted] to this location 0n 02/28/2014 to have a loud noise checked in the engine compartmnet. I described the noise to an employee, I was advised the noise was caused by a bad power steering pump, and replacement of the pump would repair the issue. I paid $558.82 to have this service done at that time. The following day, I drove my vehicle and discovered that the noise previously described had indeed returned. I emailed Meineke and received a response from franchise owner, [redacted], requesting I return at my convenience. On 03/01/2014, Meineke manager, [redacted] telephoned my home and advised they would fix the problem "at no cost" to me. I returned to the location on 03/03/2014 and was advised the noise was likely being caused by "engine pulleys", they were not in stock and I returned on 03/06/2014 and had engine pulleys replace, and was charged a total of $281.83. At completion of that service, I drove the vehicle around the block with a Meineke Technician, and did not hear the noise at that time. Later that afternoon, while driving, the noise that was supposedly fixed twice did indeed return. I then brought the vehicle to a local mechanic recommended by numerous friends, the mechanic determined the cause was the alternator bearings, replaced the alternator and the noise was gone, and has not returned. I contacted meineke corporate in North Carolina and they contaced me on 03/28/2014 reporting that the parts they replaced on my vehicle were necessary and I have no grounds for a complaint.Desired Settlement: I would like my cost of $840.65 refunded

Review: I bought brakes that were supposed to have a lifetime warranty. My brake light is on so I brought the car into Meineke to have it checked and was told that the brakes are fine but problem was the sensor on my car. I brought my car in to Audi to have it checked and Audi told me that my brakes and rotors were fine but the problem was a faulty sensor in one of the brake pads. I called the main office of Meineke and was told that I could get it repaired at the location that was closest to me. I made an appointment to have it done. When I called to confirm my appointment I spoke with a different person who told me that he didn't know anything about an appointment ...and no replacement parts had been ordered. (Even though I took care of this when I called to make the appointment) I was told that I had to pay for a new set of brake pads, since the problem was only with one pad, I had to pay to get the others replaced as well as the labor to get it fixed. The person on the telephone then proceeded to tell me that he was sure that I needed new brakes anyway since it had been two years since they had been replaced. This advice was given without even finding out about my driving habits...and in spite of the fact that both Meineke and Audi had just told me that the brakes and rotor are good.I tried to call customer service at Meineke but no one returned my calls. What a rip off....
