I needed my AC unit checked due to it not working properly. I was told by the technician that I had a leak in one of the coils and that I needed a whole new system. A salesman came by the next day and quoted a price of $13,700 for a new system with a ten-year warranty which is double the price of anything that I saw from research on the internet. I received a second opinion from a local company, and he cleaned my AC unit and stated that the only issue was that it was very dirty, so he cleaned the system checked the parts, and stated that everything was working fine. I did not need a $13,700 system, I only spent $150 to have it cleaned. Morris Jenkins is a rip off not to mention that they never even cleaned my system to even know what the issue was with the unit, they simply talked bad about the brand maker of the AC unit and how various customers had just settled a lawsuit against that Brand. I would suggest anyone that uses Morris Jenkins to please get a second opinion before having them fix anything.

John was really helpful and informative during his visit to repair my guest toilet. He even gave me some information about our water heater. He offered all of the options and was patient as I talked through my ideas as I made my decision. He was easy to talk to and left my bathroom looking better than how he found it. Another great experience with Morris Jenkins!

My AC unit is not even two years old and they did not check with me to see if I wanted to use my warranty in place, instead they charged me 361.00.
On Saturday June 6, 2020 in the evening my spouse and I noticed that the AC was not working. It was 80 degrees upstairs. We changed the filters and turned the heat from auto to on. After about an hour no change, it continued to get hotter to about 84 degrees. We called our contractor and no one was available to come out and they suggested I call a bigger company and to mention that I have parts warranty. I did this and I called Morris-Jenkins. I mentioned I had parts warranty, but all they said was okay. They said someone could come between 10 p.m. to midnight. Meanwhile my home was getting warmer and I have three children. I had no choice but to allow Morris-Jenkins to complete the work, but I was never asked about my parts warranty. I was forced to use their generic part that they had on the truck, instead of getting the option to use my warranty. My AC unit is not even two years old until July 19, 2020. I have tried to call Morris-Jenkins back several times to get them to file warranty with the manufacturer and they refuse. They have given me excuses, telling me they only cover five major parts and my pat was not one that they cover. Of course if they would have installed my unit then it would have been covered. All I am asking is to be reimbursed because I have warranty on my AC and I wanted to use my warranty. I was put in a position to pay them out of pocket because I did not want my children to go through the night sweating and not having proper AC. They have not shown any compassion towards they situation. All they continue to tell me is that most major contractors only cover 5 parts, and I have talked to other contractors and I am finding out that it is not true. They need to come and take this part out of my AC, order a part from carrier enterprise which is who my warranty is through and they need to install that part in there. The guy I spoke with over the phone even told me they order some of their parts from carrier enterprise. I have no idea if that part was or was not from carrier. I feel as if I am being taken advantage of because they knew I needed my AC fixed immediately because of my children.

Desired Outcome

I would like to receive a replacement part from carrier where my warranty is valid or I want them to give me my money back.

Thank you for forwarding the customer's feedback to us, we appreciate the opportunity to address our customer's concerns.

We are sorry to hear the customer feels like she was taken advantage of. A Morris-Jenkins technician carries many parts on their truck to make it easier for them to take care of the customer. However, it would be impossible to stock everything in all brands. The parts warehouses are open Monday-Friday until 5:00pm. If a customer is requesting a certain brand and it happens to not be available on the truck, then the customer has an option to use the compatible part we do have or have the technician order it for them. However, that will delay the time in which the customers issue is repaired.

In this situation, the customer wanted their AC running as quickly as possible, so the technician made the repair with the part he had on the truck.

Because we understand the customer's situation, our Service Manager reached out to the customer and agreed to honor the Warranty price for the part, leaving her only with the price of the labor to install it.

We have issued a refund for $223, which is the difference in what she paid and the warranty price. The customer seemed satisfied with that outcome.

Thanks again for allowing us to respond to the customer's concern.

Jonathan M went out of his way to do an efficient and informative service call on our air conditioning unit. He went out of his way to replace batteries in our smoke alarms
And also when he noticed two bulbs out in our kitchen chandelier he replaced two bulbs, saving this 80 years old customer the danger of climbing a ladder. Service second to none and expertly done.

Came home to no AC! From the first phone call with Whitney scheduling our appointment to our technician Roger F. coming out to check our system, the whole experience was great. Awesome customer service. We had a clog in our pipe (which the we knew how to clean out and fix since this has happened before). Roger was great, even though we opted to fix ourselves, He still shop vacuumed the water in the pan for us so we wouldn't have to get it up ourselves. We will be returning in the future when we do our addition and have to get a larger unit. Best customer service out there!!

We arrived home after a trip to find that one of our two zone air conditioners was not working. Of course, we immediately called Morris-Jenkins. At our request, they attempted to assist us with troubleshooting over the phone. It was determined a service visit would be needed. JaQuan G and Michael M arrived shortly after 9:00 PM and stayed until well after midnight testing our system to identify the issue. Both JaQuan and Michael were professional, pleasant and kept us informed of their progress. We can not thank them enough for prompt response, fixing the air conditioner/thermostat issue and doing so in a very courteous manner.

Jared arrived on time and was friendly and efficient. My washing machine line was backed up and he cleared it out. The best part was it didn't cost anything as I am a Priority Advantage customer. Refused to refund money after spending $1200 on an HVAC repair and the next day my HVAC unit stopped working.
I contacted this company, because we noticed our HVAC unit was not cooling our home as well as normal. It was running, but our home was not as frigid as usual. The technician arrived and surveyed the unit in the attic and said there weren't any problems. He went outside to survey the unit and reported he "believed" we may need a new battery on the unit and that was the reason the unit was not cooling well. He said the fan was running, but not the compressor. He recommended a battery and flush the line for normal maintenance and quoted $700. We agreed and he installed the battery and nothing happened. Next he said we needed a "hard start" for the unit which was an additional $400. We agreed and he put the "hard start" on. The unit began to run. Next he said there was a noise coming from the unit and he thought maybe oil would help. I asked how much the oil would cost and he said an additional $250. I told him "no thank you" and he said he would call the supervisor to see if he could do it for free. The supervisor agreed and he added the oil. He also promised he would service our other unit while he was here and did not, but said if we signed up for their priority advantage plan they would return to do the work later. We agreed and signed up for the plan. We spent nearly $1250 for the work. Fast forward less than 24 hours later and the air stopped working!! I called the company and they sent out a new technician. The new technician arrived and said we needed a new compressor! I asked him why the previous technician didn't just recommend that and he said he was trying to save us money. Well guess what happened next? I asked him would the $1200 we spent the day before be credited towards the new compressor and he said no they could only credit us $600!!! I asked why wouldn't we get a full credit since it was less than 24 hours and he said that was the best he could do. He called his supervisor and came back to us to say his supervisor said that was the best he could do. He said with the $600 credit we would then pay an additional $2500 for the compressor. I let him know we would not be willing to give them additional money when the work that we paid for the day before was unnecessary. We could have paid $3100 for the compressor the first day and saved $600. At that point I asked him to just refund us the $600 and we would get a quote from another company. He said he would not refund us anything and the best they could do is put the $600 towards a new compressor with their company. I told him I refused to give Morris *** more money. I called his supervisor and he did not want to return any of our money. I told him to take all of the equipment the technician installed the previous day off of our unit and we would get someone else to service the unit. I asked him to refund all of our money except a service fee. He refused to do that and agreed to give us back $600 of the money. I believe this was all a rip off to get the most money they could from us. We could have paid for the compressor the first day instead of handing over $1200 one day and them returning for an additional $2500 the next! Also I reviewed the receipt the first and the first technicians notes and he said our compressor sounded like metal on metal when it was running which is not true at all! He didn't offer us a new compressor either which is what he put in his notes on the receipt that we did not see until after he left and emailed it. He put notes on the receipt that are untrue to help build a case for all of the unnecessary work that was completed. This is horrible business. They have not stood by their word of providing excellent customer service.

Desired Outcome

I would like them to provide a greater refund than the $600. We paid for unnecessary repairs when we could have just paid for a compressor.

One of our Service Supervisors reached out to the customer and discussed the situation with her. We are refunding her the rest of the money from the repair. She will be free to use whatever contractor she desires.

The refund request has been submitted to our Accounting office. Please allow 5-7 business days to see the funds applied to her credit card.

The company has agreed to refund the full amount of $1224. I am satisfied with the agreement.

I love the service I get from Morris-Jenkins. Today I had a plumbing issue and Dave L our to service it. He was so nice and my cat love him. I really do appreciate how he explain everything to me. I learned something today that I had to clue about when it comes to my toilet. It was nice to have someone explain to you what they are doing and why without making feel as if you still do not know what they are doing. Dave gave the best customer service today.

Nathan L was the tech that came out to fix my air conditioner. He was professionally dressed, put on shoe covers before he entered my house, wore gloves and asked if I would prefer if he wore a mask. He listened attentively to what the issues were with the AC unit and then got to work. He tested everything down to the level of humidity in the house. He found several issues and explained what it would take to fix them and also reviewed the cost. I am now a loyal customer of Morris Jenkins because of how awesome Nathan is as a representative of the company. Thank you for the amazing service.

Morris-Jenkins has done several small and large jobs for us. The large job was replacing the main soil/cast-iron pipe under our slabyes, this involved jack-hammering. My wife and I have been very pleased with their service. (We were not pleased with a competitor and switched to Morris-Jenkins.)

Today, May 29, 2020, Justin from Morris-Jenkins was at our house to re-set the toilet and to plumb the vanity in one of our bathrooms. He did a great job, even though there were several complications with the vanity that we had purchased. Also, Justin was quite personable, and we enjoyed interacting with him.

We highly recommend Morris-Jenkins.
