Mr. Cooper does not even deserve one star.

We had our mortgage through a local bank and they sold our mortgage and it was Cirnerstone, then Nationstar and now this ridiculous l, so called mortgage company, Mr. Cooper.

I don't know why with all of these complaints they have not been shutdown. They don't work with a person, they are good at humiliating you and they love to charge $30 for a late fee. I don't know how they can get away with all these things that are being complained about.

I needed up with cancer twice and one of the times my husband lost his job and I called Mr. Cooper and they sent me the forms to fill out to lower our payments as an option and there were other options with this so called paper work. When I filled out EVERYTHING! They sent a reply that losing a job and an illness did not justify a modification to the loan. So we were denied any extensions. Just ruined credit and nice $30 late fees that added up.

Seriously? Something had to be done. Where is the justice in all of this?

This company is the worst. They bought my mortgage and I have paid on time each month until one time I was late and they destroyed my credit. They also refused to amend my credit report. I called them and scheduled a way to pay the mortgage that month and they still reported it and killed my credit. Stay away from this company.

I am in dire financial straights, I emailed Mr Cooper for assistance with trying to save my mortgage and home. 25 days later, I get a unrelated response telling me I have to pay the late fees to my letter explaining my life was in dire straights with no job, car, deaths in family etc.
I post a FB post slamming their idiocy, I get a response, that again goes for weeks with no proper reply, I finally call and actually catch the person at their desk. Tells me to log in and fill out a form.
I fill the form out, explain I can't afford repairs, the house is unlivable due to mold/mildew and that with my job lost, I took a new job making 1/3 what I was and could not affort mtg repairs and cost to live somewhere while repairing.
Without any further conversation with me, I get a decision to to the form, my missed payments have been waived and my mtg has been reduced by ~$50. I respond that the waived payments are great but the new payment is not sustainable and needed further assistance of a substantial reduction to allow money to be diverted to repairs and reduced cost for securing living arangements while repaired. I am currenlty staying in my friends spare room but I need to be out in 2 weeks.
Weeks have gone by, emails have been sent asking status, no response.
My deadline for this new reduced payment is in 10 days and I still have no response. I've assumed they will not respond and work with me and have signed an apartment lease and started to move out. As I originally told them, I had money for a mtg payment or apartment rent and they chose to force me into an apartment.

Mr. Cooper is just as bad as NationStarMTG was, nothing has changed.

Messed up escrow a by overestimating taxes. Fixed tax issue then proceed to claim shortage in escrow account. Raised monthly payments to cover fraudulent shortage. Refused to close escrow account at homeowners request.

I pay my mortgage 1 month early and give an additional $300 principle every single month. I had an escrow shortage of $160 since my real estate taxes went up in 2018. I was told if I pay the $160 before 2/1/19 mortgage payments would be adjusted so as not to be included in this year mortgage payments. I paid the shortage on time. That totally confused them for some reason unbenounced to me. All of a sudden they are telling me I am late on February mortgage payment which I paid 1 month early in January. Four phone calls and 2 weeks later the issue is still not resolved. I would not recommend using Mr Cooper/ Nationstar Mortgage Co. to my worst enemy. I had HSBC bank for about 12 years before they sold my mortgage to Mr. Cooper and I never had a problem. Shame on you Mr. Cooper for your incompetence. You deserve a negative 5 star rating.

Paid off loan in full mid December when I re-fid through another company, but a check was already out from escrow to pay the county taxes. County refunds MrCooper my tax payment and has copy of check sent 12/31. It is now Feb 6 and Mr Cooper can not find this money to refund me. I have provided documents but emails from their "research dept" gives timelines from 4-6 weeks or 8-12 weeks when I might see this money. Research dept has no phone ??? Escrow dept has no answers but re-reads me the emails from the "research dept". I re-fid with another company due to the amount of mailings and constantly calling to advertise I was receiving from the new Mr Cooper company. Save money Mr Cooper don't Fed ex letters everyday to clients and you could afford to give ME MY money back in a timely fashion.

I had my mortgage with PUF and I sold my house in December. Now I am needing my tax information on my house. PUF sold out to Mr. Cooper, that can not find any of my information. Is there anyone I can contact about this??

Customer service sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can I give negative stars? These people are awful. In the middle of a loan assumption per court order and I literally cannot get someone to correspond with me for over a month!

Pacific union financial is a complete joke. I was trying to get a loan payoff, they were unable and unwilling to work with me. I believe it is an internal problem. they outsource their loan payoff department to pakistan. The Pakistani pacific union folks act autonomous of pacific union financial and there is no way to speak with the pacific union financial pakistani's. The entire system for pacific union financial is broken. They basically ignored me, my realator, the closer and the title company. crickets. Do yourself a favor, avoid the mental anguish and stress and just walk on by pacific union financial. they do not care one iota for their customers, they just feed off of you like a tick.

Mr. Cooper Response • Jan 10, 2019

We sincerely apologize for any negative customer service experience you encountered with Pacific Union. We strive to provide excellent customer service and regret if this was not your experience. A payoff quote was requested on 12/17/18, loan was paid in full on 12/27/18.

I am very frustrated to learn Mr. Cooper had a class action suit against them and I was not notified of my ability to include myself in the suit. It seems Mr. Cooper agreed to reimburse customers who they charged both a late fee and a payment fee in the same month when making a payment thru the Nationstar online payment system from 2014 thru 2017. I was never informed of my right to include myself in this action, and the deadline was December 2018.

I received a mortgage from Mr. Cooper and closed on time. The representative has called several times after to assure my complete satisfaction. I couldn't imagine going anywhere else for my finance. I have a home in another area that I need to sell and will suggest the buyer use Mr. Cooper. There were no problems at all. I produced the paperwork, the team asked for very few additional papers and we closed on time. They did not make up reasons, nor give fake explanations for needing documents. They explained everything with facts. I was so impressed. I never felt so protected by a financial institution. I was curious at first due to the name MR. COOPER. I quickly got over that when I watched the professionalism at work. Do not hesitate. Interview your representative for Mr. Cooper and be on your way to safe financing. They are always looking out for your interest.

Absolutely abhorrent business practice. My mortgage loan was sold to them by another lender. I signed up for auto pay and instead of waiting until the date I authorized for auto pay; they took out an extra month's payment immediately!

At least their customer service representatives are nice on the phone...

I was told that due to hurricane Irma I could make smaller payments for 3 months and my loan would be modified at the end of the three months. I've been paying on time through out all this time and even way before hurricane Irma.

Three months ago I checked my credit file and it showed that I had been late several months.with Mr.Cooper (Not True).

I just received a letter of threat of foreclosure due to being late on my payments.(Not True have proof that I have for several years on time with this loan).

Will call Florida's State Attorney Monday.

Right up there with comcast customer service. Absolutely terrible, they cannot process a payment correctly to save their lives

They will lie to you. It is as simple as that. My family was affected by hurricane Irma last year. They solicited US with differed payment option for 90 days. They told us that it was a very simple process, and that at the end of the 90 days they would simply add those 3 payments to the end of the loan. At the end of the 90 days they then inform us that the representative must have misspoken, or we must have misunderstood, and we owed the full balance of those 3 payments plus the current month to reinstate our account. When I informed them that was not possible, they then gave us the option to modify our loan. Long story short, after 10 months of fighting with them we finally have a viable alternative. All it took was a complaint to the office of the FL Attorney General, as well as the CFPB (which I suggest anyone with a complaint does). The Attorney General has issued a judgement against them specifically for the way they handled their hurricane Irma response. Despite this they deny any wrongdoing and continue to try to put all the blame on their customers. They should be ashamed of the way they have handled this.

Worst mortgage company I can imagine. Would do zero stars if possible. Our loan was sold to them and every. single. year. I have to get on the phone with them to resolve tax payment issues out of escrow, and flood insurance coverage. This year, I sent them proof of renewed flood insurance three different times, two different ways, through their portal and through fax, and they continue to say they don't have it, until they automatically purchased flood insurance for us! and added the expense to our monthly payment by way of increase in escrow analysis. I call AGAIN and finally they find and confirm that we already have the flood insurance. They cancel their flood insurance, and I get a letter AGAIN stating we don't have flood insurance. starting the process all over again now and monthly payment is still not reduced back down to what it should be. I would refinance just to get away from this company except that I can't be sure the new loan wouldn't just be sold back to them. Dealing with them and keeping your mortgage straight is like an additional part time job. This is definitely a huge blind spot in our mortgage system that the consumer has no say in who owns their loan, and there is no oversight or repercussion for a terrible company like this. Just take a glance at the rest of the reviews.

This is a copy of my review on Yelp:

It would appear that my most recent content has been removed as it was a link to a newspaper column that has been deemed inappropriate. So, if anyone is interested, you can search for yourselves the link where John ***, Senior Reporter, writes about how he helped someone who asked for his help with their Nationstar/Mr Cooper problem, and invites others to do the same if they need him. It is in the Sunday New York Times of April 8, 2018.

I am now left forever holding my breath, waiting for the other shoe to drop with this company. I gave them a whole slew of negative reviews when they were Nationstar, and my check for my mortgage payment got "lost" in the mail (despite my bank insisting that there was foul play involved, as it had been cashed). I then spent the next 6 months of my life writing to any high ranking Official that would listen, trying to dig myself out of a huge problem that was not even of my making ,as all I had done was mail my check and then things started spiraling completely out of control!!

Some of those problems involved: ongoing harassing phone calls (several a day), late fees, and the illegal dinging of 125 points on my credit score after Nationstar totally ignored a legal Affidavit from my bank (T D Bank) while it looked for my missing funds in FULL knowledge of the fact that it might take up to 3 months to retrieve them. At the end of the day, and after all of the trauma and stress this whole nightmare caused me, I got cc'd on a snotty letter from a Senior Official at Nationstar/Mr. Cooper to CFPB, questioning whether my check had ever really been missing in the first place!!

Yeah, you're right: I get my kicks from a 6 month long campaign of letter writing about a missing mortgage payment, and I made the whole thing up because I don't have a life and I have nothing much better to do with my time (insert sarcasm emoji here).

The ONLY person who came to my rescue was John ***, a senior journalist at the Sunday New York Post. He has a "Dear John" column, and I would 1000% recommend emailing him if anyone has the kind of problems I had, as he gets things done. His email address is:

***@nypost.com

He is a very nice man, and eager to help with consumer complaints as this is what he does for a living. He was getting ready to publish my story, and this is the ONLY way I was able to get my situation straightened out and rectified. Because of him, I got my credit score put back to where it was, and everything else got straightened out. To be fair, *** Mikulenke at Nationstar/Mr. Cooper was actually pretty good, and finally helped once he contacted her. It's amazing to me how quickly Nationstar/Mr. Cooper jumped as I'm sure they don't want the extra publicity :)

Also, take a look at Nationstar/Mr. Cooper on Glassdoor. Some VERY interesting reading that I found while researching. It seems that their staff has actually been instructed to slow things down in the paperwork department!!

complaintsboard.com/comp...

Also, be warned. Keep copious notes of everything: names, dates, etc. After a career in a previous life at the Office of the Legal Counsel at the United Nations, I learned to hold on to everything. I am also hoping and keeping my fingers crossed that Santa will bring me one of those letters that tell me that Wells Fargo is taking over my mortgage. Despite all of the problems in the news with Wells Fargo, it has to be a big improvement, right?

Unfortunately, our mortgage was sold to this company. It has been nothing but problems! Customer service is lazy and not well informed. I did more work than they did to complete a payment. They clearly have NO idea what good customer service is! I noticed this company is not credited by the Revdex.com. How and why do you sell mortgages to a company with such low ratings! Do I get a choice of what company owned my mortgage. Pay attention to your complaints Mr. Cooper!
