Mr. Cooper Reviews (%countItem)

I have a current loan with this company since my last loan company went out of business and honestly it has been a nightmare. They keep hounding us to pay extra every month, claims we hadn't paid a certain month. Put us through this loan modification to help, never returns our calls when they do they leave phone numbers linked to other businesses. How can a company constantly leave a phone number they dont own and expect those to contact them back pertaining to their account. We are rudely talked down too, no respect or aren't courteous in any way. They fail to mention why they call, never answer the questions I have about my loan and has driven our credit score so low since the transfer. I have been trying to work my way out of this loan company's hands and into another one but because this company has done this to us we cannot get into a better loan with a trusting company. I am beyond upset and not sure what to do. We love our home and do not want to lose it. Mr. Cooper/ Nationstar Mortgage Company needs to be investigated on where they are putting the hard working clients money, and ruining our lives and credit scores in the process.

Mr. Cooper has consistently tried to slam us into a new mortgage and charge fees that are not discussed . The personnel make a habit of not listening. They read from a computer and will not perform in a professional way when you catch them in a lie, they get very defensive. I will be looking for a different mortgage company starting NOW!

I would highly recommend anyone with this company, they have several names, find a competent and honest mortgage company.

I would give zero stars if I could as well. My mortgage was transferred to Mr. Copper end of last year (2019) and I have had nothing but issues with the company and website. Not to mention I have an escrow overage that I have requested 3 times and have yet to receive. They are shady liars that are stealing money from their customers, someone needs to look into their business practices.

I'd give them a negative five stars if I could.

Mr. Cooper is making it impossible to get our Insurance money back so that we can finish fixing our roof, windows and house exterior after a EF3 tornado hit our million dollar home. They are asking for more and more documents from all our contractors, (who I've already signed contracts with and put down deposits) before they will send us back a dime of our own insurance money. We've had to max out credit cards fixing the house ourselves while we wait on what's rightfully ours. Like the tornado wasn't stressful enough - this company is going out of their way to make it even worse.

Mr. Cooper has an asinine insurance check/release of funds protocol. I would say they've invested our $93,000 and are earning interest on it, while they come up with more excuses to hold off giving it back to us to repair our house.

All the while they keep sending me emails asking me to refinance, or buy another house using them. No Way. Not ever Mr. Cooper. Not ever.

Please do yourself a favor and DON'T DO ANY BUSINESS WITH MR. COOPER / NATIONSTAR MORTGAGE. I made the biggest mistake trying to refinance my home with this "so called" mortgage lender---huge mistake!!! The so called "Mortgage Professional" who was supposed to be there to help me, was the "Most Unprofessional" employee EVER. She made everything look "nice" just to do a "BAIT-N-SWITCH" for over $3,000.00, yes, over $3K. What a crook!!! She thought she could hide it, and no one would notice it-----very wrong, who wouldn't notice being ripped off by $3K?? When I asked her to fix it, she simply ignored my calls and emails, and the "so called" loan processor simply passed the buck with a "I don't know." I even tried to get this resolved with management, but I got NO response. Of course, who is ever going to call you back to accept that they had changed the figures without your knowledge or approval and accept they were trying to rip you off. I had spent almost 50 days in the refinance process, so I was just trying to get it all done, but in the end, I said what the heck, and went with a different lender and started all over again. Sure enough, as soon as I emailed the cancelation request, the "Mortgage Crook" immediately called me to "make things right" yeah sure, right but for who, not me that's for sure. By now she was super nice and willing to do anything to earn my business--I wasn't ready or willing to give these crooks a second chance or as the saying goes "once a crook always a crook."
Their poor service pushed me to look elsewhere and yes, I was able to find a way better mortgage lender who charged me thousands of dollars "LESS" then those crooks and closed my refinance in "3 WEEKS." Please do yourself a favor and handle your refinance or mortgage business "ELSEWHERE" and avoid the aggravation that MANY OF US have gone thru. I wish I would have read the complaints against Mr. Cooper before I started the refinance process, because I would have never called them at all. I wish I could give them a NEGATIVE ZERO STAR RATING, because they don't even deserve a skimpy star.
I hope there's a government agency that can look into their past business transactions to find out just how many people they have taken advantage of--it makes my hairs stand on end just thinking about it.

We have been with Mr. Cooper for 2 years and were recently working on refinancing with them. We were incredibly disappointed with the level of professionalism and poor customer service. Phone calls and emails were frequently never responded to, information was provided and then repeatedly asked for, the process was drawn out by them for 6 months while they promised that just after one more document the closing date would be set. In the end, that one final document (of my husband's proof of military pay) was deemed not valid and they closed our application process without even notifying us. We are now working on moving as quickly as possible to a new company-DO NOT USE THEM!

I too would give zero stars if possible. They keep increasing my monthly payment saying my escrows have increased, which they have not. They also paid my homeowners insurance very late and I almost lost my insurance. Thank goodness for my insurance agent that it was reinstated. Unlike what their website says, they pay all your escrow bills extremely late.

I absolutely hate dealing with this company. Their customer service sucks and they never read the notes on the account. You'll get a different answer depending on who you speak with. If I had to do it all over again. I would have never used this company. Chalk this up as a lesson learned. Never again. I wish I could give them negative -5 stars..

My loan was paid off Dec 13th, My insurance company refunded $1168 on Jan 9th to them and they still have not sent the money. On Jan 21st was told that it was not yet sent and there is a law they don't have to pay for 30 days. What a crock. I would like to see that law. They are using my money and not paying me interest. They could not tell a date when it will be sent.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THEIR OTHER DIVISIONS ARE DOING.
Our mortgage was purchased by the unheard of company "Mr. Cooper" in Oct. 2019. In Nov 2019 we were told by Mr. Cooper we didn't have enough insurance coverage. So we jumped through many hoops even connecting our Ins. people to Mr. Cooper's people to ensure all was correct. In the mean time Mr. Cooper did not make the required insurance payment from the escrow account which resulted in our home owners insurance being cancelled!!!!! We jumped through more hoops to get reinstated with the realization that we had been uninsured for some time.
NEXT
Late Dec. 2019 We receive a notice from Mr. Cooper stating that our Escrow account is underfunded and they would not make our Tax payment. Turns out that sometime in Nov. they sent and e-check for $300 to us stating that it was an overage on the account and Fed law required them to issue a refund for anything over $100. Even so how did that leave us underfunded by $600????? After 2 long phone calls, and much frustration, in the 3 months of Mr. Cooper owning our mortgage, we've started the refinance process to get away from them.
We still don't know if all of this is going to affect our Refi.

This shouldn't be allowed to go on. How do they possibly have a Revdex.com rating of B+ with all of these 1 star ratings?????

Mr Cooper bought my mortgage; I'd give zero stars if I could. Although they reference the exact same FEMA map that my exclusion references, they refuse to acknowledge the LOMA that FEMA issued and placed a flood insurance policy on my home.
Many attempts have been made to resolve, their "justification" document references same map number as my document but they will not acknowledge FEMA's documentation.

Horrible company, shady insurance practice of placing policies unnecessarily and their Insurance staff is either CLUELESS or crooked!!!

Our family is dealing with grave health problems. My business had declined due to having to be a sole caregiver. We needed help. Mr. Cooper held out hope to our family that a "loan modification" was not only possible, but likely given our situation. Loan modification can lower your payments drastically by lowering your interest rate and extending the repayment length. I was told they saw modifications at 3% fixed rate and 30 year term. This would have lowered our payment by $1,800. This would have helped our family save our home.

After one month and countless hours of assembling and providing documents, they APPROVED the modification. My NEW payment would now be $600 MORE THAN THE CURRENT PAYMENT I WAS MAKING.

This is a heartless, immoral company that has crushed our hope.

I hope karma meets up with them.

Is anyone aware of a current class action lawsuit against these conmen? Leaving one star as this is the lowest option.

On 10/30/2019 I called to see how much the balance was on my loan. Later that day I sent in a principal payment of $xxx, xxx via certified mail. This payment was received and signed for by an employee of Mr Cooper on 10/31/2019 at 11:45 am. I have called on several occasions and Mr Cooper is refusing to apply the funds to my account. I am not going into foreclosure nor have I ever been late for any payments. My account was actually paid ahead until 12/01/2019. Mr Cooper refused to accept my principal payment and sent funds back. So on 11/18 I paid $xx,xxx towards my principal via the Mr Cooper Website and it was accepted and applied to my account. Principal Balance was reduced to $xxxx. On 11/19 I paid $xxxxx towards my principal balance. It was applied and Principal balance was reduced to $xxxx On 11/20 I paid $xxxx towards my principal balance. And then was applied and reduced to $228.49. Later that day I received a message from a rep and was advised that none of my payments had been received because my bank denied the funds. I check my account and the funds were in fact debited from my account. I asked for xxxx to advise why my principal payments were being refused....She then stopped communicating with me.... I then logged into the mr cooper system to find that some one had reversed all payments and had started to misapply the payment for $xxxx. $xxxx was applied for payment to my Dec. amount due -which isn't due yet- And also charged me a $25 fee. According to the documentation Mr Cooper sent, my Dec payment should only be $xxxxx. I truly believe they are trying to intentionally force me into foreclosure. This is the sixth time over the course of a three month period that this company has misapplied principal payments and escrow payments on my account. They are the worst company to deal with.

Shannon *** talked to my husband For over an hour last night on December 3rd 2019, and discuss taking my name off the mortgage and I am the sole owner of my property. I was not present at all and I am not happy with Miss *** or my husband trying to do something this shifty and shady behind my back. This would have put me in jeopardy that my husband could take a home equity loan from my home and walk away if he wanted to. Being that I am sole owner of the property, I cannot imagine any honest agent even discussing such a thing without my presence.

My husband and I tried to refinance with this company since our loan was already sold to them. We had no idea the trouble, cost, and run arounds we were in for! They ran our credit twice within a 3 month period, changed the due date twice, had us do a termite inspection, made us get flood Ins. (When not necessary), and tried to get us to do 2 appraisals! On top of all of that we had to constantly call them and stay on top of them to get anything done. When all was said and done they sent us an email to tell us we weren't credit approved! DON'T do business with this company you'll be VERY sorry.

My wife and I had our loan with them since 2005. In the last maybe 5 or so years, they have been an exceptional mortgage serving company. Our loan was sold to another operation a few months ago. If there was a way to go back to this company we would do so in a heart beat.

I recently sold my house and loan is paid in full. I called Mr. Cooper to discuss closing my account completely as it is now at a $0.00 balance. After talking to two different customer representatives, I was told I can not "close" my account with them. I can still log into their website and see that my loan is paid in full. They refuse to remove my account from their system at my request. This company is a joke. I recommend going somewhere else if you have the option. Unfortunately, I did not have that option as my loan was sold to them via another company.

They suck!
We went to every other week payments. BUT, they don't apply the first payment until the second one arrives 2 weeks later. They hold the first one in suspense.

So, you don't get the advantage of making half of your payment early(as far as interest accruement goes). But they don't tell you that.

Also, we have to make a$2.50 payment fee each time our payment goes through. Even though we are making our payment electronically, as required by them.

We will be refinancing with someone else soon.

We had Seteres, but they were sold to Mr. Cooper.

Mr. Cooper= F- .

Mr Cooper refused to negotiate or communicate when my home faced foreclosure. They refused to give my realtor a payoff amount, which she would need in order to sell my home. Then, after everything, they purchased my home at auction. This company should be ashamed of itself. Fraudsters and liars.
