however, there are protocols and policies which must be followed These policies are companywide and all of our team members are required to follow them [redacted] completed an application for membership in NAPW On April **, 2014, NAPW contacted her and conducted its initial enrollment interview During this telephone call our representative explained the annual costs and benefits associated with this level of membership, and that all membership enrollments are final Because NAPW is a membership-based networking organization, the primary benefits at all levels are found through our membership portal ( [redacted] ) as well as through our face-to-face networking at our over Local Chapters nationwide Additionally, through our online portal, members are able to access ancillary benefits provided by our business partners Because NAPW incurs costs upon enrollment with those partners, we maintain a final sale policy Please be aware that membership alone includes no tangible product to be shipped to the member Our representative explained that [redacted] would receive an email (within hours) containing login information for our members’ portal through which she is able access all of the online benefits and enroll in Local Chapters Our representative further explained that [redacted] should review our Terms & Conditions Subsequent to logging in but prior to accessing her benefits, she was required to review and accept those Terms & Conditions Therein, [redacted] was provided with the details of our final sale policy, along with all other policies governing her relationship with NAPW NAPW’s Terms & Conditions are available at [redacted] Within days of enrollment, NAPW physically mailed a welcome package to the member containing a paid statement, a membership card and a welcome letter [redacted] did change her login information, which must be done by accessing the profile, thereby accepting the terms and conditions NAPW employs a comprehensive call recording and auditing function Our staff reviews the recording of each completed interview for multiple compliance points, including that the representative explained the automatic renewal process as described aboveAs part of our investigation into this case, we reviewed that call again and [redacted] was made completely aware of these points at the timeThis interview is available for review if required Throughout the year, NAPW made available to [redacted] a comprehensive membership services staff, which is qualified to field all inquiries and would have been able to work with her had she elected to opt out of her automatic renewal (or any other questions she may have had) NAPW publicizes the availability of this staff through multiple dedicated pages See [redacted] Each of these pages publishes the contact telephone numbers and email addresses, and provides a convenient form which this member could have submitted at any time if she wished to engage our staff for any reason, including opting out of her automatic membership renewal [redacted] did contact us on June **, 2014, almost two months after becoming a memberOur membership support representative did explain to her all of the benefits which are available to her, and offered to work with her on the fees and to have one of our specialists contact her to determine how best to maximize her benefitsWe have already purchased several annual subscriptions for services which are part of her member benefits, which are not refundable to us, so a full refund is not possible As we were past the sixty day deadline for issuing credits directly to the card billed, a check was requested to refund [redacted] as agreed Details on this check and when it was mailed will be sent to [redacted] once we have received a reply from our request for that information from our accounting department We take the claim that a member was "scammed" or that a charge was unauthorized very seriously NAPW provides an amazing value for the membership fee Included in ALL memberships levels are webinars, seminars, discounts, perks, online networking access and in-person chapter affiliation as well as a myriad of other benefits Our organization is growing, expanding and moving forward through numerous initiatives, strategic alliances and corporate affiliations; offering members additional avenues to ASPIRE, ACHIEVE and CONNECT Every member of NAPW's management team works diligently to deliver maximum value to our members, and any claim that someone was "scammed" is demonstrably false We currently have almost a half-million satisfied members, all of whom are free to use our online networking portal, which gives our members more connectivity options and far more ability to promote themselves than other networking sites We have over local chapters across America, in which tens of thousands of our members get together to take their online experience into the real world and create incredible connections with other professional womenThese local chapters are constantly implementing new ways for the local members to interact We encourage of our members to join all of the chapters in their area - this gives them more opportunities to attend events that fit their busy schedules and widens the circle of local women with whom to network Moreover, we host an annual National Networking Conference where almost two thousand members where members from all over the country enjoy an unforgettable day of networking, panel discussions, workshops and presentations from extraordinary women like [redacted] Click here for more information Additionally, we are constantly providing and working to upgrade the secondary benefits such as free or discounted continuing education through leading providers like [redacted] and [redacted] ***; During her initial enrollment interview, our representative went over the membership, beginning with the most comprehensive package ?" part of the goal of the interview is to determine the best package to fit the member’s goals and budgetWe want them to get the maximum benefits for the money, which is why they offer the options in the order they do [redacted] selected our Preferred membership? Our representative also explained that NAPW uses an automatic renewal process, designed to protect [redacted] ’s enrollment in and uninterrupted access to the benefits provided by NAPW and its business partners.? Prior to concluding the interview, our representative specifically informed [redacted] that her annual membership would automatically renew on the anniversary of her enrollment, which was October **, 2016.? [redacted] had the opportunity to opt out of our automatic renewal program at that timeShe was also advised to review the terms and conditions which were in place at the time and which are on our websiteA copy of those is attached here? During the initial enrollment interview, our representative explained that [redacted] would receive an email containing login information for access to our members’ portal.? The next morning, as promised, our Membership Services Team called [redacted] to welcome her to the organization, assist her with logging in and accessing her member benefits, creating her professional profile and answering any other questions or concerns she might haveShe was unavailable, so our representative left a detailed message for her; which was followed up with a confirmation email with important links, requesting that [redacted] contact her directly to go over her membership at any timeHer direct contact information was provided in this email as she was assigned to be [redacted] ’s representative for the duration of her membership [redacted] could have contacted this representative at any time for assistance with her benefits or to change the status of her membershipA copy of that email, with its date stamp, is attached ? In addition, NAPW made available to [redacted] a comprehensive membership services staff, which is qualified to field all inquiries and would have been able to work with her had she elected to opt out of her automatic renewal (or any other questions she may have had).? NAPW publicizes the availability of this staff through multiple dedicated pages ? Each of these pages publishes the contact telephone numbers and email addresses, and provides a convenient form which this member could have submitted at any time if she wished to engage our staff for any reason, including opting out of her automatic membership renewal? From day one of [redacted] ’s enrollment with NAPW, we communicated via email using the address she provided: [redacted] ?" this is the same address listed on this complaint.? Email was clearly the primary communication channel, by which [redacted] received her monthly newsletters and numerous other organizational announcementsWell before it was processed, NAPW sent [redacted] a courtesy reminder of her upcoming renewal transaction to the email address mentioned aboveA copy of the first email is attached as part of the email ? Our email server report, which shows the date that email was sent and the fact that it was opened by someone at that email address, is included in that document? We have reviewed all of our records.? [redacted] did not contact us to cancel her scheduled renewal prior to processing, as required by our Terms & Conditions, so her renewal was processed as she previously authorized.? ? [redacted] did contact us on October **, and spoke to one of our Member Services representatives who explained why her membership was renewedShe issued a refund of the majority of her membership fee, less the costs we incurred for renewing her benefits with outside providers from whom refunds are not availableThese charges are incurred automatically at the time that the renewal is processedThis is why we send reminders of the automatic renewal and ask that our members have the courtesy to advise us if they do not wish to renew ? As a courtesy, we have issued an additional credit to [redacted] ’s account and we have also changed the status of her membership so that it does not renew in the future unless she requests to do soWe also invited her to contact us so that we can assist her in maximizing the benefits which will be available to her until next October? Members who do take advantage of these resources find that they are of very real value in advancing their success? ?

I found this organization on Linkso I submitted to joinI was sent a letter saying I was approved and to register on-lineThen I was contacted via phone and asked another series of questions before they could approve my registrationAfter being approved, again, on the phone I was then given the sales pitch and costEach time I said I couldn't afford that large of a one time payment they kept offering me different dealsI finally asked if they could send me the different levels in writing so I could present to my employer (as they will cover professional organizations)I was then pitched another "deal" at which time I finally declined and hung the phone up on them

We mailed check [redacted] to the address you provided in this complaint on June **, Please understand that because the original transaction took place well over two months ago, we are unable to issue a credit to the card that was billedThis is our standard practice for refunds Therefore, we had to send a request for a check to be issuedThis process can take up to ten business days as it is outside of our protocols – we apologize if the initial response was not clear that it would be sent, not received within that periodOnce the checks are issued, they are sent via First Class US mail and the time of actual delivery to your address will vary We issued this refund to you as a courtesy - you called to cancel your membership two months after joining, well after the standard limit for refunds You stated that you had immediate second thoughts - but never contacted us until May We took into consideration the changes in your circumstances and offered a partial refundYou demanded a full refund because "other women had received full refunds" When someone asks for a refund, each case is considered individually and there are some circumstances in which a full refund is authorizedSince your membership enrollment in March was completed with your authorization and consent and all protocols were followed, your benefits were activated and available for you to use, you immediately received your login information to access those benefits and your membership card was sent within a few days, you were not entitled to a full refund, especially not sixty days after you became a memberHowever, we do not like to make people unhappy, and so a full refund was authorizedPlease understand that because the original transaction took place well over two months ago, we were unable to issue a credit to the card that was billedThis is our standard practice for refundsTherefore, we had to send a request for a check to be issuedThis process can take up to ten business days as it is outside of our protocolsOnce the checks are issued, they are sent via First Class US mail and the time of actual delivery to your address will vary You called us a mere five days after being told that the check was sent; one of those days was a SundayMoreover, your latest response in which you accused our representative of being “huffy and puffy” and refusing to assist you, required that we investigate those claimsWe have reviewed the call, and the representative to whom you spoke was not huffy and puffyYou asked to speak to her boss, but refused to give your name so that she could assist you and waited about ten seconds before hanging upThis call is available for you to hear, should you request itOur representatives are fully authorized to handle almost every question or concern of our members, and our protocols require that they pull up the record of every member with whom they speak and make notes so that if a call is dropped or the person needs to be called back, the information is there for any other member the staff to review to better assist our members This is not an unreasonable request, but your compliant presents it as such Our representative did call you back, but you did not answer, and so she sent a request to her supervisor to look into the matter You should have received your check by today, unless the address you provided here is incorrectIf that is the case, it will come back to us, and we will send it again once you provide the correct address

On 32013, [redacted] joined NAPWAt that point, she was advised by her membership coordinator and agreed to set up the membership to auto-renew March of the following yearPer the Terms and Conditions set forth for all NAPW memberships, notice is required prior to renewal if cancellation is requestedOn February **, 2014, [redacted] did contact NAPW and request cancellationAlthough less than days prior to renewal (and not in compliance with the Terms and Conditions which [redacted] agreed to prior to accessing her membership), the membership was cancelled per [redacted] ***'s request on [redacted] has not been charged any additional monies

Please find attached receipts for the credits issued to the card in questionThe transaction IDs are found in the description - your bank can check the status of the credit using those numbers We trust this is satisfactory

NAPW also states that all correspondence comes through email, but I never received an email asking for my permission to extend the membershipI paid for 6-months ONLY!? NAPW states that my membership is cancelled, but I received an email today 916, stating that? they have issued a credit to my account,? automatic membership? renewal is deactivated? and that my membership will expire in (I have attached a copy of that email.? In addition, I? never received recognition in? a publication newsletter? that NAPW stated I be a part of for joining.? I concluded it was a sales? ploy, but it was still a renege on NAPWOn 9@ 3:EST, I received a call from, I believe her name was Marie or Mary, that called me after I submitted the Revdex.com claim, stating that her manager had received the claim and that they are going to refute itI stated to her that it was in the hands of the Revdex.com and there was no reason for us to communicate furtherShe continued talking, but I cut her off and told her there was no reason for us to continue the conversation because all that was being said was that the claim was being refuted? ? ? ? ? smallpart of the benefits included in membershipThe organization was established as an alternative for busy professionalwomen who did not have the time to attend networking events in person – infact, the first local chapter opened a year after the inception of theassociationIt is a challenge to get busy women to meet in the same place atthe same time, particularly outside of major metropolitan areasIf a ChapterPresident is unable to attain a regular schedule of meetings, the viability ofthat chapter is reviewed and sometimes it is closedThis is what happened inthe case of the [redacted] chapterThroughoutthe year, NAPW made available to [redacted] a comprehensive membership servicesstaff, which is qualified to field all inquiries and would have been able towork with her had she elected to opt out of her automatic renewal (or any otherquestions she may have had) NAPWpublicizes the availability of this staff through multiple dedicatedpages Each of these pages publishes thecontact telephone numbers and email addresses, and provides a convenient formwhich this member could have submitted at any time if she wished to engage ourstaff for any reason, including opting out of her automatic membership renewal[redacted] did contact us in September regarding the profile setup fee, which is a onetime fee for all new membersThe membership [redacted] whoconducted her enrollment interview did request to waive the profile set up fee, butit never processed completely through our system, thus it did not post in [redacted] ’s accountShe did contact us to question it and after trackingeverything back, we refunded it directly to her card She was provided with confirmation numbers ofthe transactions over the phone.She then contacted us on December *, 2014, askingus why we did not refund all of her moneyThis was quite surprising as thiscontradicted the conversation in SeptemberAs we are unable to issue credits directly back to card accounts morethan sixty days after a transaction has been processed, we resolved the matterby advising her that we would be sending her a check, which might take up tofourteen business days, for a partial refund of her membership, but that all ofher benefits would remain intactWe are also offering to extend her membershipfor an additional year, as we are hoping to re-establish the [redacted] chapterand would like he to be able to take advantage of it once it is again up andrunningOur check number *** was mailed out on [redacted] , December**, Please allow sufficient time for delivery by the [redacted] We take the We have never received any requests from [redacted] until last monthShe called us on November **, We deactivated her account and left a couple of messages for her to call us backWe also sent her an email to confirm this? Unfortunately, until the link to her profile on any search results for her name ages out, the link will take anyone to a NO RESULTS pageThere is nothing more that we can do as we do not control the search engines or their history ? We take the claim that a member was "scammed" or that a charge was unauthorized very seriously.? ? ? We are also deeply angered by the claims that NAPW takes advantage of women whenever someone forgot about the terms to which she agreed or failed to use her membership and wants us to bear the financial burden of her oversight ? NAPW provides an amazing value for the membership fee?
