Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted] , and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because: I appreciate the canned response from NAPW that I read on other Revdex.com complaints submitted and the personalization only to outline the dates/time I was not able to answer calls The response only supports my point for request to cancel the membership - I am not available to appreciate all the program has to offer I did not want to answer the phone either only to listen to high pressure investments needed to continue member Additionally, I had an increase in responsibility at work and I am preparing for an executive MBA program It is unfortunate that NAPW does not offer more flexibility in membership knowing women often spin many plates and things can change in availability I do not align to be a member to any organization that has expectation I immediately answer and respond to every phone call or email In fact, I received emails in ½ months, sometimes up to a day! This becomes noise to me and even as a member, harassment Please remove me immediately from your contact database and put my contact information on a do not call list.I asked the representative on Nov [redacted] if there were any other options and the response was “no” due to policy The response on 12/through the Revdex.com does not provide any details for me to consider.I do not feel NAPW's response provided any gain towards a resolution to my concern, only to defend their policy In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above Sincerely, [redacted]

She has pulled recordings and other history related to this member's account, for re-training with the applicable agents.? NAPW has fully refunded this member? Classic bait and switch, with hard selling, and manipulative tactics thrown inAs soon as I said I needed to do my due diligence and would not be signing up / paying for anything over the phone, the representative's tone changed to condescensionThe LinkedIn ad clearly said it was a free professional organization; the Revdex.com's D rating and 1-star on Yelp were very illuminating

This organization is horrible When I started my business in November and filed with the [redacted] Department, offers started to pour in from associationsNAPW's stated that as [redacted] of my own company I qualified for a free membershipI put it to the side for a couple weeks then called after ChristmasWhen I called and they told me it was going to be nearly $to join I hesitated but then relented Not a smart moveI had to call to get a member packet and ID numberI was so busy starting up my business that I didn't have a chance to discover that there wasn't a functioning chapter near me but 3-hours awayI emailed them on May [redacted] to cancel my membershipAfter an email exchange where they said that there were members near me just not a chapter and suggested I learn how to use their websiteI emailed once again stating that I wanted to cancel my membership that I paid an entire year in full, expiring on Dec**, [redacted] from customer service said that since I was "six months" into my membership she couldn't refund me any of my dues So I counted off the months to her stating that since I join on Dec**, and today was May *, 2015, I was only months and days into my membership [redacted] quickly said it was "days" in which they give full refundsAs you can imagine, this Three-Card Monty game this supposed female empowering membership organization is pulling is wrong [redacted] proudly boasted that NAPW was not a Revdex.com accredited organizationI said, now I know why I raised my voice and demand a pro-rated refund [redacted] scolded me for raising my voiceI then said that if I treated my clients the way NAPW is treating me, I'd lose livelihood She continues to reaffirm that despite there being no chapter leadership near me there are other ways I can network with people onlineAgain asked her to cancel my membership and give me a pro-rated refund, in a stern voice She again berated me So I saidFine just cancel my membership and I will report you to the Revdex.com, the [redacted] (b/c NAPW is based in NY) and the NY Revdex.com [redacted] suddenly gets a change of heart and says she's going to give me a $refund out of the goodness of her heartDO NOT JOIN THIS ORGANIZATION!!!! Stay awayGo with your local chamber of commerce where everyone/everything is local and they know you Lesson learned

at all levels - are found through our membership portal (www.napw.com) This connection is vital to those who live outside of the areas served by the over Local Chapters the NAPW hosts nationwide, like [redacted] It is not necessary for members to network face to face only within the framework of a local chapter – reaching out to others in your area to meet informally is encouraged Most local chapters were established when the interests and schedules of the members in that area grew great enough to require a local chapter be created [redacted] did choose the highest level of membership – as a new business owner, she has access to myriad resources and benefits, including seminars on marketing, using social media to grow her business, regulatory and tax complianceThe cost of those alone make her membership valuableAdditionally, this level of membership provides a higher profile on our website, free admission to our conference and networking events, and access to exclusive deals with partners who provide exceptional services for business owners Our representative explained that [redacted] would receive an email (within hours) containing login information for our members’ portal through which she is able access all of the online benefits and enroll in Local Chapters Our representative further explained that [redacted] should review our Terms & Conditions Subsequent to logging in but prior to accessing her benefits, she was required to review and accept those Terms & Conditions Therein, [redacted] was provided with the details of our final sale policy, along with all other policies governing her relationship with NAPW NAPW’s Terms & Conditions are available at [redacted] NAPW employs a comprehensive call recording and auditing function Our staff reviews the recording of each completed interview for multiple compliance points, including that the representative explained the automatic renewal process as described aboveAs part of our investigation into this case, we reviewed that call again and [redacted] was made completely aware of these points at the timeThis interview is available for review if required NAPW made available to [redacted] a comprehensive membership services staff, which is qualified to field all inquiries and would have been able to work with her to maximize her benefits, utilize her membership tools and access all of the resources specific to members who are eager to grow a business NAPW publicizes the availability of this staff through multiple dedicated pages See [redacted] Each of these pages publishes the contact telephone numbers and email addresses, and provides a convenient form which this member could have submitted at any time if she wished to engage our staff for any reason, including opting out of her automatic membership renewal [redacted] did contact us on September **, and spoke with one of our membership service representatives regarding her membershipThe information above was discussed with her – and we refunded most of her fee without reducing the level of her membership We also requested that one of our specialists reach out to [redacted] and spend time going over every aspect of her membership so that she would be thoroughly versed in the benefits and resources available to herThis is a tremendous value for the net cost to [redacted] As per her conversation with our membership services representative, we have issued a credit to [redacted] ’s account and we have also deactivated the automatic renewal function of her membership, so that it will not renew We take the claim that a member was "scammed" or that a charge was unauthorized very seriously NAPW provides an amazing value for the membership fee Included in ALL memberships levels are webinars, seminars, discounts, perks, online networking access and in-person chapter affiliation as well as a myriad of other benefits Our organization is growing, expanding and moving forward through numerous initiatives, strategic alliances and corporate affiliations; offering members additional avenues to ASPIRE, ACHIEVE and CONNECT Every member of NAPW's management team works diligently to deliver maximum value to our members, and any claim that someone was "scammed" is demonstrably false We currently have almost a half-million satisfied members, all of whom are free to use our online networking portal, which gives our members more connectivity options and far more ability to promote themselves than other networking sites We have over local chapters across America, in which tens of thousands of our members get together to take their online experience into the real world and create incredible connections with other professional womenThese local chapters are constantly implementing new ways for the local members to interact We encourage of our members to join all of the chapters in their area - I clicked on the advertisement for NAPW on [redacted] and I applied to this group, I thought they would evaluate my accomplishments in order to accept my application to become a memberWhen they called me they did asked many questions and recorded all my accomplishments as a professional business ownerThen they subtlety added plaques and perks that mounted to over $for a simple "preferred membership" I refused to most of it and what was left was still $So I felt for it and paid, soon after I got emails requesting I fill out a questionnaire because I was going to be featured as a new member in their new letter (months later I never got the newsletter or my name anywhere near a feature selection)I also got access to virtual training, nothing I saw in the affiliate website they promote as NAPW was of interest to meThen I got emails from my chapter group that invited me to conference calls in order to network with other women in my area, to my surprised when I signed up for the call I was charged, $to listen in for hourI thought it was petty that after all I had paid I still hadn't seen any benefitI reported that to someone in sales and I requested to have my membership revoked, the lady refunded me most of my money and allowed me to stay for the year, soon after this happened I get another call from another sales person stating that I their higher up people selected a few members to become VIPs and I was luckily selected for the modest amount of $to become a VIPThey review perks after perks and all I remember was being able to attend big conferences for free so I got my VIP membership reduced to $I went to sign up for the NYC summit and realized the most fun part where you meet Star Jones and participate in the luncheon is not free, all that is free is me roaming around for hours listening to other members speak and buying stuff the association sells in the main hallNow to make things worst I get a call to submit a picture for the book of VIPs they are printing and the lady is selling me my books for $I said I just want one book, I think I should be entitled to at least one book in which I appeared, she said $and then I said, no, no I should get one as courtesy and then she hanged up on meMow I am contacting the head quarters in order to remove myself from anything concerning this association, it is a scam, you basically have to buy your way into recognition, I have glass plaques with my name on it that reads " for an outstanding and professional woman" they know nothing about me, I found out I paid for those plaques, $something each

also explained that NAPW uses an automatic renewal process, designed to protect [redacted] enrollment in and uninterrupted access to the benefits provided by NAPW and its business partners Prior to concluding the interview, our representative specifically informed [redacted] that her annual membership would automatically renew unless she contacted us to decline the renewal [redacted] had the opportunity to opt out of our automatic renewal program at that time She was also advised to review the detailed terms and conditions on the member website, which explain everything in detailHer login information was emailed to her immediately following the enrollment confirmation, and her membership card, paid statement and login information was mailed to her the next day.On February **,2015, [redacted] was invited to upgrade her membership to a VIP level [redacted] , who said that she was pressed for time, declined the invitation, stating that her current level of membership was fineOur representative reminded her to log into the portal as we had a new website [redacted] thanked her for the informationThroughout the year, NAPW made available to [redacted] a comprehensive membership services staff, which is qualified to field all inquiries and would have been able to work with her had she elected to opt out of her automatic renewal (or any other questions she may have had) NAPW publicizes the availability of this staff through multiple dedicated pages Each of these pages publishes the contact telephone numbers and email addresses, and provides a convenient form which this member could have submitted at any time if she wished to engage our staff for any reason, including opting out of her automatic membership renewalMembers also receive regular emails, all of which include contact informationA postcard reminder was mailed at the end of August to the address provided by her at the time of enrollment, which is the same as the one provided hereWe have reviewed all of our records [redacted] did not contact us to cancel her scheduled renewal prior to processing, as required by our Terms & Conditions, so her renewal was processed as she previously authorized [redacted] did contact us on October **, 2015, which is the conversation to which she refers Contrary to her claims, our representative was polite and professional, explaining to [redacted] that as she had not contacted us prior to her renewal being processed, we could not issue a full refundWhen a membership renews, we in turn, automatically renew all of the services which are provided by our partners, fees for which are not refundable to usThis is why we send the postcard well in advance to give members the opportunity to change the status of renewal before it processes As a public company, we are answerable to shareholders and our policy is that full refunds are issued only if they were not authorized or under other specific circumstances justifying the absorption of those fees without reimbursement Simply refunding because a member forgot that she was renewing, or ignored her reminder does not meet those criteriaAs our review of all contact with [redacted] clearly demonstrates, her case does not justify a refundOur representatives are fully empowered to issue full refunds when justified We will concede that our representative could have been clearer in her response to the escalation question – but she was correct [redacted] would not have been satisfied because any supervisor would have explained the same thing.As per her conversation with our membership services representative, we have issued a credit to [redacted] account and we have also deactivated the automatic renewal function of her membership, so that it will not renew.We take the whenever someone forgot about the terms to which she agreed or failed to use her membership and wants us to bear the financial burden of her oversightNAPW provides an amazing value for the membership millions of us continue to shop at [redacted] , buy [redacted] cars and purchase [redacted] products again and againAs professionals, if we all believed everything we see on the Internet was true, rather than informing ourselves and making our own judgments, we would all view the business world very negatively

Please note the National Association of professional women is now running its operation as Worldwode Association of Professional Women I just received a call from them to ask to join for $for a lifetime membership but did not commit I then read the reviews online and fifur d it was a scam

We have investigated the claims made in this complaint All of our new memberships are set up to automaticallyrenew unless the member requests otherwiseThis is explained during theinitial enrollment interview and on our website [redacted] ***’s file did not indicate that sheasked to have the automatic renewal disabledAs she did not contact us before herrenewal was scheduled it was processed.The postcard to which she refers was sent for deliveryduring the first week of June, giving [redacted] plenty of time to contact us toremind us that she did not wish to renewThe only “advertisement” on it was anannouncement about an event we were havingAs we must pay for the annual feesprovided by our outside partners, which are not refundable to us once weprocess the renewal and initiate and order to continue those services, we doask our members to have the courtesy of notifying us that they do not want torenew BEFORE the actual renewal process takes place Our policy is to issue refunds only to thosemembers who did request cancellation before the renewal takes place, however,if a member calls us after the renewal is processed, we do refund the portionof the fee which has not been paid out to our partners on behalf of the memberIt is immaterial how many days havepassed since the renewal processed because those fees are automaticallyforwarded as part of the processThis is what was done for [redacted] ***It is a shame that [redacted] did not use her membership as she did make a substantial investment init The representative with whom shespoke spent time going over all of those benefits and made suggestionsregarding the resources which would be most useful to herIn reviewing thatconversation as part of our investigation, [redacted] seemed satisfied and willingto use her membership, which is why we are rather surprised and dismayed thatshe saw fit to file a complaint with the Revdex.com.We have issued the balance of her fee, however, because wedo not have access to the recording of the initial enrollment interview andthis cannot confirm that [redacted] was advised of and agreed to the automaticrenewal of her membershipIn this situation, we do always give the member thebenefit of the doubt

Invitations to apply formembership are sent to select professional women who are referred to us throughprofessional associations, industry and charity events, subscriptions toprofessional publications and services and other members. Invitees are free to respond with anapplication or not – we do not make cold calls to potential members. As our material states, there is no fee to applyfor membership. However, a password is required to access benefits likeseminars, local chapter meetings, other events and resources, which is issuedwhen an applicant purchases a membership. We assume that anyone who submits an application for membership hasexplored the NAPW to see what we are about and they are ready to make adecision about joining the organization. With thousands of applicants tointerview and consider, we do require that applicants make their decisions atthe time of the interview. We prefer to allocate our resources to providingbetter benefits and services to our members. Applicants are then required togo through an initial enrollment interview. Applicants for membership areentitled to be treated with utmost respect and empathy, and every person on theNAPW team is trained to work with applicants to explain the benefits and costsassociated with membership and to resolve any issues; however, there areprotocols and policies which must be followed. On September **, 2015, NAPW contacted her andconducted its initial enrollment interview. During this telephone call our representative explained the annual costsand benefits associated with membership. One of the purposes of these enrollmentinterviews is to determine what it is the applicant hopes to gain from hermembership. Our most comprehensive levels of membership, which include myriadbenefits like unlimited live seminars and webinars, discounts on courses forcontinuing education requirements, networking, conferences, discounts and otherresources, are offered to each applicant and those who do wish to access thesethings can choose to purchase that package. However, some applicants are notinterested in the educational benefits – which are the most costly component ofmembership. Some of them are at different stages of life and have budgetaryconcerns. We work with these applicants to find a level of membership whichprovides them access to the resources they seek, while remaining within theirbudgets. Applicantswho choose not to join as paid members are provided with an Initial Membership,which allows them to have a listing on our website, attend a local meeting,undergo a resumé review and analysis and receipt of our monthly newsletter. Itis our hope that by getting a chance to experience some of the benefits, theywill opt for full membership in the future. BecauseNAPW is a membership-based networking organization, the primary benefits at alllevels are found through our membership portal (www.napw.com) as well as through ourface-to-face networking at our over 300 Local Chapters nationwide. Additionally, through our online portal,members are able to access ancillary benefits provided by our businesspartners. [redacted] was also advised that it might take 24 to 48 businesshours for her profile to be available on our website. She joined on aFriday. Our business hours are between9:00 AM and 5:00 PM Monday through Friday ET, so if she called during theweekend, of course she would not reach anyone. Our phone greeting makes thisclear. [redacted] was contacted on Monday, and as she was less thanpolite, refusing to accept that she bore any responsibility for not researchingthe NAPW before joining because she wanted something for nothing, that she didnot pay attention to the information which was provided to her regarding theavailability of her profile and that she was angry because we were not availableoutside of business hours. We take the claim that a member was "scammed" or that acharge was unauthorized very seriously. We are also deeplyangered by the claims that NAPW takes advantage of women. NAPW provides an amazing value for themembership fee. Included in ALL memberships levels are webinars,seminars, discounts, perks, online networking access and in-person chapteraffiliation as well as a myriad of other benefits. Our organization isgrowing, expanding and moving forward through numerous initiatives, strategicalliances and corporate affiliations; offering members additional avenues toASPIRE, ACHIEVE and CONNECT.
