I am rejecting this response because: This business has so far refused to make an effort to even work out a resolution.I waited for their investigation and received no response. Finally, I called the number listed for an update and talked to customer service who gave me more "tail chasing" answers. The final answer was that once you've paid there if are any issues whatsoever(at their discretion) before, during, or after testing you are disqualified with no re-testing or chance of any full or partial refund. (contrary to what I've read in the Revdex.com case histories). *Please keep in mind this is my THIRD TIME taking the test and the first time I've been rejected to sit for the test.* Furthermore, when refunding or credit toward another test was mentioned (as I discovered was possible here on Revdex.com) I was told that was the "scheduling department's issue, and I would have to call them".  Unfortunately, we the people are forced to use ETS as they have become a monopoly in reference toward TOEFL testing, which is a requirement to further my education and career.Thank you for your time.Regards,[redacted]

Please allow 7-10 business days for the transaction to post. I hope this information is helpful and wish you well on your future academic endeavors. Regards,GRE Test Taker Advocacy Group

From: Test Taker Advocacy [[redacted]] Sent: Wednesday, May 04, 2016 3:37 PMTo: [redacted]Subject: Revdex.com Case #: [redacted]) [Incident: [redacted]
Dear [redacted]

ETS was notified...

by the Revdex.com (Revdex.com) that you submitted a complaint regarding the discrepancy with your identification which was presented at the test center for your April 30, 2016 Praxis test administration. You mentioned in your complaint that you contacted ETS on January 6, 2016 regarding changing your name on your profile as you were unable to make the change on your own.

We have the documentation from this contact with our customer service department. Your original Praxis registration under ID [redacted] reported score under [redacted] up to your February 18, 2012 test admin. With your understanding that a new profile needed to be created due to your recent name change, you created a new registration under ID [redacted] in January of 2016. During your transaction with the agent, you advised the staff of this newly created ID, and you were provided with assistance to create a temporary password so that you could successfully access your new account. This new account is active because you have since registered for exams with admin dates of January 30, February 23, March 26, and a scheduled date of May 14, 2016. Scores have also reported under this new ID which have since been reported to you and your score recipients.

The ID discrepancy we found was as a result of a newly added registration for April 30 admin under your old profile which you have not used since 2012. It is important to note that agents cannot change names on test takers’ accounts for any reason. For security reasons, names cannot be changed after a registration. It is due to this fact that no activity was done on the [redacted] ID and the assistance was granted to access your account under the new [redacted] ID which as you mentioned in your complaint, the agent verified to be correct. You have since accessed this account which you have successfully used since that interaction with the agent.

When you recently logged into your old account to register for the April 30 exam, you had to use your old user name and password since this is different from your new account. The old registration brought up your maiden ([redacted] for this [redacted] ID which confirmed that there was no change done to this account and this could have prompted that there was another account with your married name and more current.

While we understand your concern for a refund, ETS still has an obligation to pay for the unused reserved seat. Test centers are third-party entities which administer our tests locally. We reserve seats in advance and we are contractually obligated to cover the administrative costs whether or not the test takers take the exams. It is for this reason a refund is not warranted for this error. We make every effort to inform our candidates of test requirements prior to the test date to ensure a smooth operation on test day. We advise our test takers of acceptable id requirements, [redacted] so that issues such as this can be avoided.

Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns, and if I may be of further assistance, do not hesitate to contact me.
Regards,

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
I had adequate identification at the time of that exam.  That is why I was permitted to take the test.  I want a refund for the test I took then.  They threw away my test scores after I sat there and took the test for four hours.  My scores should have never been cancelled.  I feel that they are really scamming me.  I want a refund.  There representative at the test site took my information and took a picture of me.  She did not question me about my identification AT ALL!!!!!!!!!  Therefore, I conclude that I was in my right to take the test according to her.  The gentleman that I spoke with after the fact cancelled my scores.  Still not satisfied.
Regards,
[redacted]

Please our customer response below: Dear [redacted] ETS was notified by the Revdex.com (Revdex.com) that you submitted a complaint regarding the services you received from our organization. In your complaint, you stated you were double charged for a GRE test, and you are...

trying to figure out why there is an outstanding balance. I had attempted to contact you by telephone on January 18, 2017 to resolve this issue. [redacted] ETS was notified by the Revdex.com (Revdex.comCase #: [redacted]) that you submitted a complaint regarding your Praxis Core Combine exam. In your letter to the Revdex.com you stated that you took your test on May 26,2016 but you did not receive your score at the end of the test. To clarify, when investigated, it is confirmed that your test admin was in April; not May. The Praxis Series tests are designed as such that if the test takers are not satisfied with their performance (or for any reason) and they wish to cancel the exam, they may exercise this privilege without submitting scores to their score recipients. Therefore, at the end of the test you were given the option to report or cancel your score. You selected the option to Not Report Scores. This was a manual input performed by the test taker. If the test taker cancels the score, he/she will not be able to view scores. It is for this reason that you were not able to see the scores for the Core Reading and Mathematics at the test center after the completion of the test. You would not be able to see the Core Writing score as the two constructed responses would need to be scored by independent raters after the test. In an effort to further assist you, the request is forwarded to waive your cancel score requests and reinstate your scores. Since the scores were manually canceled at the test center, the tests will need time to be scored for reporting. If there is anything further I may assist you with, please do not hesitate to contact me. Regards, Doreen S[redacted] Praxis Program

ETS was notified by the Revdex.com (Revdex.com) that you submitted a complaint regarding the product and services offered by the Praxis Program. In your letter to the Revdex.com, you expressed your dissatisfaction with the test preparation materials because you believe that the test prep does not reflect the test content. You also stated that ETS should advise you of the specific incorrect test items and provide free tests for subsequent retests necessary to meet one’s test requirement.   The study material we provide was written and reviewed by content experts who checked its accuracy and appropriateness for the purpose of the test just as they do for the actual test. All test questions in the study guide and on the actual tests are submitted to rigorous reviews to ensure that they are accurate, valid, and representative of the test specifications. We are confident the information in the study guide is accurate and should be instructive for test takers.   While I understand your personal reasoning for wanting to see each incorrect item, ETS’ role as an assessment entity is to administer the tests and report scores to the examinees score recipients. The feedback information which you are requesting is not provided in our score reports or through our score verification service. The information provided is not intended to be diagnostic, nor is it intended to provide information as to why the examinee received the score he or she did. These functions are performed by the colleges and universities or through experiences learned in the classroom.   As with other institutions which offer tests and professional services, ETS must charge a test fee for each test administration. Test centers are not owned by ETS, and scorers for these exams are not ETS employees. Whether or not the test taker is retaking an exam, all services to ensure a valid test is necessary. In order to offer the same services for repeat test we must be able to recuperate some of the cost of administering the tests as well as compensation for the scorers and other administrative costs. Being a repeat test taker does not minimize these costs. We are unable to consider this recommendation.   You should note that if your primary language is not English, ETS does take this into consideration and offer additional time for eligible test takers. You may visit our Web site, [redacted], and select Bulletin and Forms. Page 20 of the Praxis Information Bulletin provides you with the Certification of Documentation form which you may complete and submit with your application. If approved, you will be able to get 50 percent more time to complete your exams.   Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns with us. We appreciate comments such as yours since they help us to monitor and maintain the quality of our tests and study materials. I wish you every success in your teaching career.   Regards,   Doreen S[redacted] Praxis Program   [---

Please see our customer response below: Dear [redacted] Your complaint to the Revdex.com (Revdex.com) regarding the score reports for your GRE® General Test taken March 13, 2017 was forwarded to me for a response. Thank you for sharing your concerns with us.  As previously...

mentioned, when selecting recipients on test day, you select via school/fellowship name and not solely by the institution’s code. Your institution was available to be selected on test day. However you selected a different institution. It is clearly stated on the GRE website, and at the end of your exam, if you do not select score recipients on test day, or you would like to send your scores to more than four score recipients, you will need to submit an Additional Score Report request for a fee of US$27 per score recipient. Although the Revdex.com is familiar with our policies and procedures, I thank you for taking the time to contact us granting the further opportunity to provide clarification regarding your complaint with the Revdex.com. Sincerely, GRE Services

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. I appreciate Ms. M[redacted] thoughtful consideration and look forward to seeing the charge for 102.50 refunded on my credit card. If the ETS could please personally contact me by email or telephone to confirm the refund is actually moving forward, I would be most grateful.

The candidate had also reached out to ETS directly. A response to that letter was emailed to the customer yesterday. The customer response was similar to the one listed below:

The Revdex.com
Dear Sir or Madam:
I am writing in response to the...

complaint against Educational Testing Service filed by [redacted]
While we regret disappointing a customer, we wish to make you aware of the following points.
According to our records, [redacted] first communication to us was on January 19; we responded on January 29. This was the first communication we received from [redacted]
The College Level Examination Program (CLEP) Principles of Management examination covers material that is usually taught in an introductory college course in the essentials of management and organization. The examination, which the American Council on Education (ACE) recommends for college credit, requires knowledge of human resources and operational and functional aspects of management.
The process of developing the CLEP Principles of Management exam is both complex and rigorous:
·         College faculty members in management develop questions based on the test specifications that comprise the full range of management content.
·         The test specifications are based on surveying the curricula of a broad spectrum of major colleges and universities.
·         The questions that comprise the test undergo a rigorous process of subject-matter and statistical validation.
·         The questions, as well as the examination as a whole, are reviewed and approved by a test development committee composed of faculty from a wide variety of higher-education institutions who are currently teaching college-level management courses.
In the College Board publication, the 2016 Official CLEP Study Guide, we provide in the Principles of Management section three tools to help prospective test-takers prepare for the examination:
1.      Full disclosure of test specifications and the relative frequency of questions in each content category.
2.      One hundred and ten sample questions that provide an indication of the format and difficulty level of the examination, as well as also provide content for practice and review. Though a useful review tool, the sample questions do not constitute a practice exam, and knowing the correct answers to the sample questions does not guarantee satisfactory performance on the examination.
3.      A link to additional study resources.
I hope this summary provides a clear understanding of both the content validity and the integrity of the CLEP Principles of Management examination.
Sincerely,
Assessment Development Department
Educational Testing Service
