Nextdoor takes all reports about inappropriate content very seriously and investigates upon notification from our members about such conduct. In this case, we received reports that Member, the community moderator, and several other neighbors were involved in a heated personal dispute in a public newsfeed discussion between 4/29/17 and 4/30/17. We understand that Member was addressing an urgent emergency situation in his community, but Member and others went beyond providing information by constantly arguing about the community moderator’s qualifications to talk about the emergency. In response, community moderator argued back and deleted several messages that questioned the moderator. We investigated and found that several members, including Member and the community moderator, violated our Guidelines on airing personal disputes out to the public newsfeed. We also found that the community moderator exercised his moderator privileges inappropriately by removing messages that did not violate our Community Guidelines. Accordingly, we temporarily placed several members involved in the personal dispute on read only access. We also permanently removed the community moderator of his leadership status due to inappropriate use of his moderator privileges.

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:
It is fraud - they created an account for me and then somehow decided that it is verified. I never asked to create an account - they created if for me and then made it as verified.Sincerely,[redacted]

Nextdoor is a social network for neighbors to share locally relevant information and connect with their neighbors. With such a specific goal in mind we ask that all members abide by the Community Guidelines: [redacted]....

One of those guidelines is about Disagreements and conflict and how to properly handle situations like this when they arise.
This member and several other members were contacted by support about their content on a heated debate occuring in their neighborhood. While we encourage members to have conversations about the issues that matter to them in a way that is constructive, civil, and builds community we ask that they don’t attack, berate, bully, belittle, insult, harass, threaten, troll, or swear at others or their views. Before reinstating their accounts we asked that the members agree to abide by these guidelines going forward and to keep their posts and comments civil. This member agreed and was reinstated on 2/21/18.
It’s important to mention that Lead’s do not have the ability to block or remove anyone from Nextdoor, only Nextdoor staff have that ability and it is only utilized when a members violation calls for action.

Nextdoor has an area of our site called the National Leads Forum, where we make it possible for Leads from across the country to share information. It's purpose is to be a place for Leads to help other Leads be more effective in leading their neighborhood.
[redacted] ability to post publicly to the...

National Leads Forum was removed after she (and a number of other Leads from her area in Texas) abusively attacked one another because of disagreements over how to enforce Nextdoor's Guidelines. Not only are these types of attacks not helpful in supporting fellow Lead; they are actually tremendously destructive because they model exactly the opposite behavior that we want from Leads. All of the participants in this abusive discussion (on both sides) had their ability to post removed.
Later, after [redacted] ability to post publicly was restored, rather than returning to use the Forum in the way it was intended, she instead used it to try and create more drama by complaining about having her ability to post being removed.
At that point Dottie was banned from the Forum. We will not consider allowing her to have access to the Forum again until later this year.

Reports about member content that violates Nextdoor’s Community Guidelines should be directed to a member’s forum moderators or Nextdoor Support. Nextdoor Support can be reached at [redacted]. Member brought the issue to forum moderators on February...

25, 2017 but has not reached out to Nextdoor Support yet.
We will investigate member’s claims once member contacts Nextdoor Support at[redacted], and take action as appropriate if we find a violation of our Guidelines. If we find that our "Community Guidelines [redacted]) were violated, and disciplinary action is warranted, we may consider a range of disciplinary actions including contacting the member with a warning, removing the content, and account suspension.

Anytime I was contacted from Nextdoor is was for a different reason. They never explained what I had done wrong to violate the guidelines. They only said I had violated the guidelines for replying to replies on my post (which is NOT a violation of guidelines). They also said every-time I posted a new post or responded to my original post it sends out a notice to all users and is considered 'over posting', which I addressed as each individual user had their own control over notifications on Nextdoor.
Nextdoor also stated I have had numerous complaints about my posts. I am still baffled about this since this appears to be an ongoing occurrence with Nextdoor that may or may not be tied directly to Nextdoor and very likely may be its members. Or both.
The notification I received yesterday, again, was new information. In this response he says 60 times I had promoted my post; in his message to me it said I did it 75 times. So, his response to you and me are not a match. Nextdoor appears to be inconsistent with where the violations have occurred and I continue to be confused; although I continue to make every effort to abide by the stated guidelines by continuing to read and reread the guidelines in order to find where I may have been in error. I continue to make an effort to follow all guideline and will continue to do so.

Nextdoor is a social network for neighbors to share locally relevant information and connect with their neighbors. With such a specific goal in mind we ask that all members abide by the Community Guidelines:[redacted]....

These Guidelines include rules about Disagreements and conflict and using your real name.
The member in question was using an abbreviated name on Nextdoor and had several back and forth arguments with neighbors in the comments section of her post. We reached out to discuss these violations with the member on 3/22/18, she agreed to abide by the Guidelines going forward and her account was restored.
