Nextdoor is a social network for neighbors to share locally relevant information and connect with their neighborsWith such a specific goal in mind we ask that all members abide by the Community Guidelines:
[redacted]
With over 150k neighborhoods around the US we can not actively monitor every neighborhood newsfeedTherefore we rely on our members to report any activity that they feel violates our GuidelinesThis member contacted Nextdoor Support on NOV 6TH, at 9:00AM to report the post that listed her license plate number and brought the post containing it to our attentionOn NOV 6TH, AT 2:50PM Nextdoor Support responded to all of her complaints about this post and informed her that we had taken action where our guidelines were violated by other membersAt that time the post was removed from the Newsfeed
Following that event this member changed their profile name to a pseudonym which also expressly violates the Nextdoor GuidelinesWe placed her account on a temporary hold while we reached out to her to request permission to update and restore her account with her real nameShe has not agreed to that guideline at this time

We apologize for the confusion on how to reach Nextdoor's support servicesTo directly address the issue, we have emailed Member at[redacted] on April 18, and asked him to provide samples of the content that he found to violate our GuidelinesOnce we hear back from Member, we will investigate and take action if the reported content violates any of our Guidelines
In the future, Member can always contact us at [redacted] and we'll follow through on any issues he may bring to our attention

Nextdoor is a social network for neighbors to share locally relevant information and connect with their neighborsWith such a specific goal in mind we ask that all members abide by the Community Guidelines: [redacted]
One of those guidelines is about Disagreements and conflict and how to properly handle situations like this when they arise
This member and several other members were contacted by support about their content on a heated debate occuring in their neighborhoodWhile we encourage members to have conversations about the issues that matter to them in a way that is constructive, civil, and builds community we ask that they don’t attack, berate, bully, belittle, insult, harass, threaten, troll, or swear at others or their viewsBefore reinstating their accounts we asked that the members agree to abide by these guidelines going forward and to keep their posts and comments civilThis member agreed and was reinstated on 2/21/
It’s important to mention that Lead’s do not have the ability to block or remove anyone from Nextdoor, only Nextdoor staff have that ability and it is only utilized when a members violation calls for action

Nextdoor has clearly stated Self-Promotional policies about advertising your own businessThis member has been warned several times about promoting his business on NextdoorHe has been given instructions on how to participate with his business on Nextdoor and has refused to complyEven after this warning and interaction with the Revdex.com he has continued to post self promotional posts on Nextdoor and has been instructed by Nextdoor staff that further violation of the Self Promotion Guideline (attached below) will result in further disciplinary? action against this member's account

? Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:
?
The response does not address the complaintIt does not refer to the way the purchase was advertised nor that in a post sales survey in the first question they offer a response that indicates this is a widespread problem and they are knowingly and willfully misrepresenting the exclusive nature of the advertising.? In addition, in the advertising terms and member agreement is does not state that multiple spots will be sold
[redacted]
?
I submit that the business knows it is misleading consumers and proof is in the post purchase survey
Sincerely,Adam[redacted]

Nextdoor is a social network for neighbors to share locally relevant information and connect with their neighborsWith such a specific goal in mind we ask that all members abide by the Community Guidelines: [redacted]
These Guidelines include rules about using your real name
This member recently changed his profile name on Nextdoor to a name that his neighborhood was not familiar withWhen he was reported for using a pseudonym we reached out to him to discuss his name change and he explained that he was recently married and was awaiting name change paperwork so that he could verify his new name
In the meantime Nextdoor updated his account and restored access while awaiting those documents

I have reviewed this members comment and found that it did not violate the Nextdoor Guidelines, Though it was reported, it was NOT removed from Nextdoor’s Newsfeed and remains active on the post in question

? I just spoke with you, my Nextdoor seems to be working okay now, I was pretty mad because simultaneously my Facebook/Nextdoor wasn't working so I told Nextdoor I didn't like thatI did tell Nextdoor I wonder if some of the leads of the pg are abusing their authority, it seems I post
and people don't see it! My Facebook seems okay right now, but I'm still furious that my media access seemed blocked yesterday.?
?
I did ask the police officer about it, told him I wasn't saying it was him and he says it wasn't, oddly I commented about my local police on Facebook about months ago and my pg was blocked where I couldn't comment, until I told Facebook I had done nothing wrong and then my pg was fine, so I still find it peculiar! My local police mostly aren't professional and need to fire people!
?
? So for now I feel this is resolved and my suggestion is they make sure pg leads aren't abusing their power to take down or hide people's comments just because they don't like them, etc, so I'm okay if you close it and I think you provide a great service, I appreciate getting a live person when callingYou're welcome to put my comments stating that they need to watch the leads better.?

I would like to drop this claim--I would rather keep a low profile and find another platform that is more user friendly and just plain friendly
?

environmentI have been recently harassed by a Nextdoor neighbor that has never even met meI can't deal with this type of drama anymore

? Complaint:[redacted]I am rejecting this response because:
Dear Victor,
I apologize that it has been a while for me to respond? My world is very busy.?
Firstly, thank you for the reinstatementI appreciate that a lot.?
I do take issue with the accusations claimed against me?
1) I have hosted FREE CLASSESSo out of the posts you claim how many were notices for free classes?
2) I posted Free Classes under Free Items and someone in the neighborhood reported me? Repeatedly.?
3) I posted in the classified for my services to the community (very different from advertising a used car for sale or the real estate posts I see regularly) and I was reported.?
4) I offered advice to families about what to look for when seeking a professional music educator NOT FOR CLIENTS and I get reported?
5) I went and created a business page and NO ONE in the feed can ever see it!! ? Unlike other platforms such as Facebook, so what’s the point?
Now Victor, thankfully I have had positive responses of people seeking my services? I have also been in my profession for years and am grateful for the community platform that NextDoor provides, however there is a fundamental philosophical dispute between the difference in someone connecting their vital service to the community and a random car salesmen.?
Your policies state no unsolicited posts however EVERY post is unsolicited which means this is left up to interpretation.?
Instead of someone simply hiding me for their newsfeed (as I would for something I don’t want to see) they are harassing me by reporting my postsThis is not random, it is targeted? And furthermore your customer service department is near impossible to reach!
I have spoken with many of my clients who use NextDoor and they share my frustrations with other things AND apparently according to Revdex.com we aren’t the only one.?
I am a fan of NextDoor and I hope that you guys have a long online life however your leads abusing their privileges, not using good discretion and injudiciously blocking people and deleting posts blankly, coupled with online customer support that is unreachable, will cause your company’s success to be limited and I would hate to see that happen.?
NextDoor is to connect the community to locally needed services according to your policies? What is the difference between someone posting for themselves and someone else posting for them?
Alright, I welcome your thoughts and I have now said my peace? Please deal with your injudicious leads before they damage what your company wants.?
Warmest Regards, Aaron?
Sincerely,Aaron Jacobs

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because: Nextdoor Administrator should have contacted me before they suspended my account and not solely took the leads wordI did respond and asked several questions and they did not respo d backIt only leads to a civil suitI will not be discriminated against let alone racially profiled by their leadNor will I be subject to favortism...Sincerely,[redacted]

On March 21, 2017, the Member registered [redacted] reached out to us to report that another member was violating our Community Guidelines on public shaming...

[redacted]). We reviewed the reported member’s comments and found that the reported member did not violate our Guidelines as she stated her own recollection of a neighborhood confrontation, was asking for help from her neighbors, and did not know the identity of the neighbor that confronted her. That said, we understand that member may find that discussion disagreeable so we advised Member on how to mute the reported member from their newsfeed.
We closed the case as resolved since there was no violation of the Guidelines. If Member encounters issues in the future, Member can always contact us at [redacted].
