Complaint: ***
Neighborhood leads don't seem like they actively remove posts that are non-compliantFor example, one neighborhood lead replied in the post to just block people who are soliciting their businessThis isn't a solution nor is it CAN-Spam compliantUpon looking at his profile, he is also a self employed business owner, so he is most likely making similar posts as well, which is why he stood up for herNeighborhood leads are obviously not employed by Nextdoor and should not be responsible for removing this type of content that violates community standardsI would also certainly hope that your company isn't supplying names and addresses of people who complain, because they also have the ability to repeat this complaint to neighbors in the area
Finally, I had a private conversation with the person that was under attack for his commentsHe stated the Nextdoor user, *** ***, threatened him with her husband who is a police officer simply because he advised her she should not be posting business posts in the regular news feedI am completely appalled and that is a misappropriation of police forceI sent a screen shot of the PM conversation to Nextdoor and I am providing it for the Revdex.com and Attorney General recordsNextdoor needs to close her account, period
Sincerely,*** ***

Nextdoor is a social network for neighbors to share locally relevant information and connect with their neighborsWith such a specific goal in mind we ask that all members abide by the Community Guidelines:
***
We provide our members not only ways to limit the number of email we send them, but we also offer them the opportunity to deactivate their accounts should Nextdoor not prove useful for themWhile we do not offer a way for members to permanently delete their accounts and information, we will permanently delete them when asked
As per this users account, he was able to deactivate his account
As for his Business Profile we have deleted it as requested by the customerNextdoor does not store Credit Card information, we use a third party, secure credit card vendor for all business transactions

After multiple explanations to this member, as well as multiple requests to verify that they use their abbreviated name in common use this member has still not provided any proof that she actually goes by her initials only

Nextdoor is a social network for neighbors to share locally relevant information and connect with their neighborsLike any other social network we ask members to invite their friends, family and neighbors to joinWe offer three methods of invitations to our members for this purpose; First, we
provide flyers that members can print out and post around their neighborhood with a neighborhood join code, Second we offer members the ability to email the people in their personal email address contact list and lastly we offer members the ability to send postcards to members in their neighborhoodsWe do not reach out to members via text or phoneWe also do not require, collect or store members phone numbersIt sounds like this person, who is not a member of Nextdoor, was included in a group text message from someone suggesting they join Nextdoor

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:
PLEASE READ THE EMAIL YOU SENT ME YOU ACCUSED ME OF VIOLATING YOUR POLICY AND STATED I WAS ON A SOAPBOX WHY SEND ME THAT ACCUSATORY EMAIL? NEXTDOOR NEEDS TO LOOK INTO THEIR PROCESSES THEY ARE BROKENSincerely,*** ***

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to meSincerely, *** ***

Nextdoor is a social network for neighbors to share locally relevant information and connect with their neighborsWith such a specific goal in mind we ask that all members abide by the Community Guidelines: ***This
member violated several of our Guidelines on multiple occasions, including Personal Disputes on the main newsfeed; making personal attacks on Neighbors; trolling; and abusing the reporting systemShe violated these guidelines on 8/21, 8/22, 9/30, 10/and 10/We emailed this member after each of these incidents instructing her of the Guidelines and asking her to adhere to the Guidelines moving forwards when postingShe continued to violate guidelines with her posts after being warned by making comments such as: “*** * 10/20/*** *** we see you can spell flashlight, good boy, now go practice counting to 20”“*** * 10/21/DM it's possible the low humor level is indicative of the brain's low functionality and possibly can't be helped”“*** * 10/21/science is probably correct but I haven't seen any "comedic ability" which explains why it sounds like babble from a mn playing with his 'little red balloon'”This member has been warned about these kind of personally attacking comments and we have placed her account on hold until she can agree not to use Nextdoor to make personal attacks against her neighborsShe has yet to reply or agree to these conditions laid out in our Member Agreement

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because: I have on several occasions aasking which guidelines that I did not follow and I have asked them repeatedly for which posts that I made to what guidelines were violated and response was ever given to me just the same generic responseI also have on several occasions gave the support team evidence of the lead bullying residents that did not agree with her or defaming residents for their religion or beliefs and using mental illness as a weapon. Nextdoor has a set of Guidelines that all members agree to when they join NextdoorOne of the main guidelines is “Use your true identity“:***Nextdoor is a network for members and the people who live in
their local communityTo that end, using your true identity and honestly representing yourself are key parts of being a Nextdoor memberOur Member Agreement *** states clearly that “You must use your real name, not a pseudonym.” By real name, we mean the first name that you use when introducing yourself to neighbors, friends, and colleagues and your legal last name
In cases of multiple users using one account we have found that members strongly prefer when they know exactly who they are communicating with rather than having to guess which half of a couple or which member of a household posted a message or is reading their repliesSpouses are encouraged to create individual accounts rather than share a single membershipRoommates and tenants are also encouraged to create their own accounts and not share with others
Accounts with fake or incomplete names are put on a temporary hold until the true identity of the user can be ascertained by Nextdoor Support to protect the integrity and security of the neighborhood

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to meSincerely, Julia***

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 15, 2016/01/08) */
The fifth case concerns our Amazon referral programYou can find a complete description of the program in our Help Center, but the quick summary is that members can earn a $Amazon gift certificate if they successfully invite members to
Nextdoor who go on to successfully launch new Nextdoor neighborhoodsThe member who complained was apparently upset because they did not earn the reward for inviting a friend who joined an existing neighborhoodHere is a screenshot of the Referral Page that the member would have had to use to invite their friend, which explains how the program works
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 17, 2016/01/11) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The response does not address the problem with the misleading banner ad

This member has used our member reporting feature to repeatedly harass and try to have removed anyone she does not agree with, including political opponents and persons asking for clarification from the HOA boardWe have repeatedly told this member that we will not remove comments that do not violate our Guidelines and that falsely reporting people IS a violation of our Guidelines and will result in the suspension of her accountHer complaint here is an attempt to circumvent our rules and get us to take action that we have already explained we will not take

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:I still affirm that I only had one account on Nextdoor*** and it was never in violation of any rules in the days I was able to use itMy address apparently was used to open an account on Nextdoor by someone who also used my first name but not my last nameI recently decided to contact the person using the email Nextdoor suspended or revoked and that person does have a nextdoor account linked to a neighborhood called Strathmore Estates in Boynton Beach and according to the person her email address used is exactly the one I was accused of suspiciously using Nextdoor apparently does not know what email goes to what account or neighborhoodHad they properly investigated the email address they accused me of owning they would have seen that it was belonging to someone in a different city miles south of Tampa (where my house is)Suspending an account when no rules were broken by that account because of another account's actions is poor business practiceIf there was a question about my identity and address and an account that also used my address, perhaps Nextdoor could have asked me to prove I am not the same personGreat customer service does not seem to be a priorty of Nextdoor***

Nextdoor is a social network for neighbors to share locally relevant information and connect with their neighborsWith such a specific goal in mind we ask that all members abide by the Community
Guidelines:***
With over 150k neighborhoods around the US we can not actively monitor every neighborhood newsfeedTherefore we rely on our volunteer Leads to report and take action any activity that they feel violates our Guidelines
This member is a Lead in his community and set’s the tone for how members are to behaveWhile this member's initial post about a local car dealership was fine, he then got into a back and forth argument with a neighbor, both of whom violated our Guidelines on personal disputesAfter outreach from Nextdoor Support this member apologized for getting baited into an argument and his account status was restored

Nextdoor is a social network for neighbors to share locally relevant information and connect with their neighborsWith such a specific goal in mind we ask that all members abide by the Community Guidelines: ***
These Guidelines include rules about Self Promotion
On Nextdoor, we support local businesses and encourage neighbors to share helpful information about their favorite businesses and servicesWe also encourage neighbors to buy, sell, and give things awayNextdoor is actively working on solutions for local businesses to participate in their Nextdoor neighborhood
Nextdoor members frequently want to know about businesses and services offered by their neighbors, but do not want to be overwhelmed by unsolicited marketing offersTherefore, the following rules apply for members wanting to participate as a business on Nextdoor:
Allowed:
We encourage you to list your business or services on NextdoorBusiness and service listings are a great way to get the word out to your neighbors
To list your business, you should *** ** *** *** *** *** on NextdoorThis allows neighbors to easily find your business when they’re looking for help or recommendations
A business listing can be set up either by businesses or by individual neighbors offering services like babysitting, snow-blowing, or dog-walking
You may add your business affiliation to the Biography section of *** ***
You may respond to requests for recommendations by offering your services like baby sitting, dog-walking, etc., as long as you are up front that it is you providing the service or that you are affiliated with the business you are recommendingSee our policy on*** ** ***
You may let your neighbors know about job opportunities if the position is of particular relevance to folks in your community
Not allowed:
You may not make unsolicited posts about your business or service in the main newsfeed or via private message
You may not announce commercial events to the main newsfeed
To add commercial events such as real estate open houses or class schedules to the Events Calendar only, you must un-select "Announce to neighbors" AND select "Visibility: Allow anyone on Nextdoor to view or share this event." *** ***
This entire guideline also applies to individuals who occasionally sell homemade or hobby goods, or who provide casual services for extra income
A Lead’s job is to uphold the community Guidelines and to make sure their neighbors do as wellThis becomes increasingly difficult when the Lead does not follow the Guidelines to begin withWe have reached out to this Lead about her multiple posts (listed below) all clearly advertising her home buying business
Sept - Looking for Homes to Buy - $Referral Fees Paid -
Dec - Looking to buy several homes & Close Quick - Searching all of Tarrant County!
Jan - Any Homes Available Near us to buy?
Mar - Looking for a few good realtors in Arlington/Mansfield/Crowley/Cleburne Area
The post that the member is complaining about most recently is the last oneAs you can see it is very similar in theme and content as the previous posts, however after reaching out and clarifying the nature of this post we determined that this post was not related to her business and we restored it to the newsfeed

Nextdoor is an online community forum for neighbors to get to know each other and share information about their neighborhood with each otherNextdoor is open to members from the age of up, which means we have a set of Community Guidelines that we ask each member to abide by when they joinLink
to these guidelines is below:***If we find that our Nextdoor Guidelines were violated and disciplinary action is warranted, we generally do one or more of the following:Remove the content in question.Contact the member with a warning.Place the member on “read-only” access temporarily or permanently.Suspend the member's account temporarily or permanently.Ban the address to prevent any further accounts from being created at that address. This member was reported to Nextdoor Support five (5) times for making abusive comments about members of a different raceUpon reviewing this member's content we found several violations of our Guidelines, specifically our guidelines about Racial Profiling and DiscriminationFound here: *** Nextdoor Support reached out to this member seven (7) times beginning on 3/6/17, to discuss these posts and comments and had six(6) different agents explain the guidelines each time with the Member agreeing to abide by themMember continued to make discriminatory remarks, however, including the below two made on 6/5/17.“Everyone in Orange who hires undocumented immigrant labor to do their house cleaning their Nanny work there gardening whatever it was propagating young gangsters growing up here in Orange County who have no regard for the law because their parents don't and to say otherwise is simply naive.”“Warning! OCDA ignored hate crimes VillaPark against white citizens by Mexicans for political reasons”Member was placed on Limited Access on 6/6/for continued refusal to adhere to our Member Guidelines

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because: I tried to contact *** and that did not go through I tried to moderator channels and looking for other places to e-mail them at If its too hard to find the right e-mail this is a customer service issue on next door's site.Sincerely,*** ***

Nextdoor is an online community forum for neighbors to get to know each other and share information about their neighborhood with each otherBecause Nextdoor is in every neighborhood across the US with well over million members, it is impossible for us to monitor what every neighbor saysWe
have built a system of tools for members to be able to report content that they feel violates our Guidelines (link below)
The member in question joined Nextdoor on 6/16/and immediately contacted Nextdoor Customer Support at 7:35pm over a post that she had seenNextdoor Support agents replied to her email on 7/17/at 12:55pm asking for additional details to assist us in tracking down the post in questionThe member never replied to that email and we were not able to locate the post she complained of without more information
I have since reached back out to the member via email to follow up on getting further information about the post she had issue with
