Nextdoor does not allow Self Promotion on the site and has several guidelines against business postings and self promotion as listed below:
*** ***
***
As Nextdoor is a member driven platform platform in over thousand neighborhoods nationwide we can not actively search for and remove content that violates our GuidelinesWe reply on our members to anonymously report any content that they feel violates our Guidelines directly to Nextdoor Leads or Nextdoor SupportOnce reported the neighborhood Lead or Nextdoor Support will research the reported content and take action where our guidelies have been violated
I have reached out to this member on 8/10/to determine what post she has seen in her neighborhood that violates our Self Promotion guideline so that I can take action on it
Tell us why here

Response to Complaint ID* ***
On February 21, 2017, Wendy contacted us because she was unable to register for a Nextdoor AccountSpecifically, Wendy was told that she could not register because our system found that her address was listed in a registered sex offender registryBy the
terms of our Membership Agreement (***/), convicted sex offenders, including registered sex offenders, and their households are not eligible for Nextdoor accountsOn the same day, we investigated and found that Wendy's address was no longer listed in the registered sex offender registry, so she was free to create a Nextdoor account
On February 22, 2017, Wendy inquired about the information that lead to her address being added to the registry and how Nextdoor obtained such informationOn February 24, 2017, we explained that we obtain this information from Family Watchdog (***), a free online database of registry informationUnfortunately, that company does not provide Nextdoor with information on why an address is placed on the registry
We closed this case as resolved because we shared the information that was made available to us as users of the registry information service

Nextdoor is a social network for neighbors to share locally relevant information and connect with their neighborsWith such a specific goal in mind we ask that all members abide by the Community Guidelines: ***
These Guidelines include rules about sharing Negative business reviews
Recommendations are intended to highlight the businesses most recommended by your neighborsIf you recommend a business, it will be treated as a positive reviewHowever, if you’ve had a bad experience with a business, you can still share that experience as a comment on that business’ Local Page or as a reply to a recommendation postEither of those actions will add your comment to the business's Local Page without counting as a recommendationMembers are allowed to describe negative as well as positive experiences with business as long as they do so in a way that is consistent with Community Guidelines
I have reviewed the member’s content that she has complained about and it did not violate our Guidelines

On February 14, 2017, we reached out to Member for violating our Community Guidelines on “Be Helpful, Not Hurtful” (***)Specifically, this Member was cited for repeatedly disagreeing with his
neighbors in an uncivil manner, and we suspended his account until March 1, On March 4, 2017, Member agreed to follow our Guidelines and we restored his accountOn March 16, 2017, we received several reports from members that Member was continuing to violate our Guidelines and engage in personal attacksDue to Member’s repeated Guidelines violations, we suspended Member’s account for a monthOn March 28, Member reached out to us about his account, wherein we informed him of the suspensionWe also investigated Member’s reports of other members violating our Guidelines and took appropriate action on their respective accounts
If Member wants to have his account restored, Member can follow up with Nextdoor Support after April 16, to discuss the next steps to restore his account

This member joined Nextdoor at the email invitation of one of his neighborsHe is contending that Nextdoor contacted him out of the blue and signed him up for membership which is not accurateThis member signed himself up for Nextdoor using Josh the Nerd (also his email address) as his name
This name was reported to Nextdoor support for violating the Real Name GuidelinesAfter receiving this report from his neighbors, we suspended his account and asked him to provide us with proof that either his name really is "Josh the Nerd" or to provide us with his real name on any one of a number of possible verification methods, including state issued ID or utility billing
This member did provide his name, though he refused to show any proof to show that he was providing his real name

Nextdoor requires members to join using their real name joining at their real home addressWe have several methods we use to verify members including billing address verification and SSN and public records checks
As Nextdoor is a member driven platform platform in over thousand
neighborhoods nationwide we can not actively search for and remove content that violates our GuidelinesWe reply on our members to anonymously report any content or member that they feel violates our Guidelines directly to Nextdoor Leads or Nextdoor SupportOnce reported the neighborhood Lead or Nextdoor Support will research the reported content and take action where our guidelines have been violated
I have reached out to this member on 8/09/and asked them to report these fake accounts directly to Nextdoor Support

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because: The answer from the business is not acceptable...Sincerely,*** ***

Nextdoor offers certain services on a month-to-month, prepaid basis (for example: Neighborhood Sponsorships)Fees for monthly services (plus any applicable taxes) will be charged to your credit card on a recurring, monthly basis on the first day of each month and are non-refundableYou will be charged for your first month on a pro rata basis. You may terminate a monthly service at any time by canceling in the***’ tab found in the left hand menu on your Business PageYour monthly service will then terminate at the end of the current month, and you will not be billed againIf you encounter difficulty canceling your Sponsorship, please review this *** *** that explains the process. Note: If you cancel your service after your monthly renewal has already occurred, you are responsible for the full subscription fee for the month in which you cancelOnce your account has been charged, all sales are final and there will be no refunds. You may submit an online request to restart a monthly service at any timePlease note that some monthly services (including Neighborhood Sponsorships) are limited to a set number of participants per area and therefore may not be immediately available upon requestIf the monthly service is not available at the time of your online request, you will be given an opportunity to join our waiting list and will be notified when the monthly service becomes available in your requested area

I have reviewed this members profile and have only found one comment by this member that violated the Nextdoor Guidelines and was removed by the LeadsI see that he was reported for two other post/comment but since those did not violate the Guidelines they were not removed by his Leads.
Leads are asked to vote on content that has been reported by members of the neighborhoodThose Leads review the reported content and determine whether to vote to remove or vote to keep the content on Nextdoor according to the GuidelinesI have found no pattern of removal or reporting against this member on Nextdoor

On 2/5/This member joined Nextdoor using the name Betty***On 2/9/this member changed her name to *** **Neither of those were this members real nameOnce she provided us with proof of her real name on 5/20/(*** *** we updated and restored her account

Hi-- Nextdoor has granted me access. You can close the complaint. Thank you for your help

This Complaint is an exact duplicate of Complaint***

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 15, 2016/01/08) */
The fifth case concerns our Amazon referral programYou can find a complete description of the program in our Help Center, but the quick summary is that members can earn a $Amazon gift certificate if they successfully invite members to
Nextdoor who go on to successfully launch new Nextdoor neighborhoodsThe member who complained was apparently upset because they did not earn the reward for inviting a friend who joined an existing neighborhoodHere is a screenshot of the Referral Page that the member would have had to use to invite their friend, which explains how the program works
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 17, 2016/01/11) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The response does not address the problem with the misleading banner ad

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because: No valid response was madeThe business has made no attempt to contact me.Sincerely,David ***

Nextdoor is an online community forum for neighbors to get to know each other and share information about their neighborhood with each otherBecause Nextdoor is in every neighborhood across the US with well over million members, it is impossible for us to monitor what every neighbor saysWe
have built a system of tools for members to be able to report content that they feel violates our Guidelines (link below)
The member in question joined Nextdoor on 6/16/and immediately contacted Nextdoor Customer Support at 7:35pm over a post that she had seenNextdoor Support agents replied to her email on 7/17/at 12:55pm asking for additional details to assist us in tracking down the post in questionThe member never replied to that email and we were not able to locate the post she complained of without more information
I have since reached back out to the member via email to follow up on getting further information about the post she had issue with

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID***, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to meSincerely, *** Spies

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:
The issue was not the name situationI’m MORE than happy to provide my nameThe issue is they sent my an email before I contacted them, asking me to send them a copy of my passport or drivers licenseThat’s unacceptable It’s a huge security concern They asked me to send very personal information in an unsecured channel Also, they initiated the emails, not me So I had a member of their staff email me first then ask for a copy of personal information in an unsecured way
This is is a terrible practice I want a real response to this concern, not a canned response about something else
Sincerely,Josh***

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because: Response is too broad and does not address the issue at hand. Leads create these public forum and are able to say harmful, negative, and untruthful things about neighbors that are long lasting. There should be safe guards in place to protect homeowners as well as their communities. Leads are allowed to keep negative post at their discretion and by the time Nextdoor is notified, the post has been shared and viewed hundreds of times by other homeowners and our neighborhoodsLeads should be selected very carefully and held accountable for their actionsOnce a lead has been reported they should be investigated, the site should be disabled until an accurate investigation is completed and a new lead is assigned. This type of bullying, untruthful, hurtful, and shameful post presents a bigger problem for the community and Nextdoor.Sincerely,Mary***
