So far, I am having a lot of success with Noom. I really like my Goal Specialist and all the tasks that you complete every day are helping understand the psychology of food, along with why and what I eat. I find the system very easy if you are committed to it.
Really like this program. It is innovative, easy to follow and help rethink my behaviors.
Been thru many weight management plans throughout my lifetime. Gained and lost many pounds. This one feels very different. While I’m relatively new to Noom, I’m feeling like these tools may be the key to good health.
It’s a daily reminder to make the right choices. It is also a community of encouragement. The daily learning and logging helps to create a healthy pattern in your life. It’s not a diet, it’s a lifestyle!!!
O really like noom . Some improvements could on the menu it could offer 1\2 servings sometimes I do not eat a whole serving and the group specialist could give suggestions instead of asking what I think otherwise everything else is great . I love it!
Not a bad thing to try. Yes there are free or less expensive plans but this one is not over priced for the info you get. The flexibility and not being told exactly what you can or can't eat is helpful. I only wish that one could correspond more by email rather than texting and only with coaches through the app. Some of us don't like that much technology!! The group participation and sharing stuff isn't for me (all online and part of the app - and it doesn't make me accountable to myself - what does is the money I've spent on the program) and all the tips, recommendations, etc. are all pretty much info one has heard before if you've tried to diet and/or care about your nutrition, health, etc. I like the daily check in with weight and logging your meals, and step counts, but getting at actual menu or recipe ideas takes a bit of work. And sometimes the terminology is over the top. Their calorie budget is fairly small unless you are exercising hard, but it does work to get one to lose a few pounds. I just think it is more designed for young folks or older folks who really aren't active and/or really have a ton of weight to lose. For me the loss is slow, which they say is good, and they try their best to keep you motivated. It is a bit too silly at times, but I still think it is worth a try for you!
I love Noom! It helps me see my eating habits to change them. It provides encouragement, education and tools to help me. There's truth and humor.
Noom has been the most successful weight-loss program I've used. I really enjoy the group coaching and having a team of other individuals who are experiencing the same struggles I am. Two items I would like to see improved: 1) the ability to add URLs to recipes or manually enter a recipe with nutritional information. I often eat leftovers or make the same recipes on a frequent basis and it's really tedious to enter in each ingredient every time. 2) the ability to use the app in a web browser.
I love Noom. It is real, the food, the information is relatability. My personal coach has been great help.
Don’t get me wrong on this part ..the group coach is really good, but very hard to follow who is answering what questions, or if someone is asking questions for the group. Just hard to follow. Maybe to big of a group???
the program is not bad at all, it gives you lots of freedom and information in order for you to make informed desitions. If you follow all the program you definitely loose weight because you are more aware of the calories intake vs the calories used on your daily activity.
The only thing I would say that is useless and frustrating is the support that they offer with the goal specialist. I have tried two different ones and they are basically helpless, you come to them to try to sort out things that you can´t manage by yourself and they start deviating the topic to other stuff instead of focusing on your needs, they keep asking you the same question that you wanted them to help you with and do not offer any realistic solution. They just keep doing useless circles around the topic you are having trouble with but never really focus on it and find a solution. I really thing that this feature of the goal specialist is just completely useless or noom just got some random people to be asking back the same questions you are asking but with different words.
I love Noom! It's a real change for me to go from counting points to counting calories. Love the foods being split out into green, yellow and red.
I like the diet; it's easy to follow (mostly just calorie counting), and I like how they add in your exercise when calculating how many calories you get. It's nice having a group to support each other. The psychological aspects are very interesting. I think that their app needs some improvements, especially the ability to pre-plan the next day. I did bring that up as a suggestion and they were quick in their response that they were always working on new things. It would also be nice to be able to do things online instead of just on the phone. So generally a great diet; a few minor changes would give them 5 stars.
I really appreciate the food log, the step counter, and the weight chart. The app makes it very easy to track what you are actually taking in and expending in activity each day. What is even more remarkable are the short lessons on weight loss science and psychology that appear to be hand-picked for me. And on top of that there is even a coach out in cyberspace who tracks my progress and checks in every few days with relevant questions. I am accountable to an actual person! I would give 5 stars, but I am not crazy about the social media aspect which seems to be more of a brag post for workouts. But I am kind of a shy person who needs to keep a low profile.
I like this concept and I understand the group mentality. My coach is nice but a young guy does not understand the struggles of a middle aged woman and all the physical and psychological BS that comes with it.
I love the psychological twists to this lifestyle change! I am definitely more aware of my eating habits and appreciate that I am making smarter choices. I even got a colleague to join!
The day to day interaction and accountability through a daily weigh in separate this program from others. You can manage your food logging easily if you cook or make your own. Buying in restaurants is always more of a challenge as good foods like salad are often marked yellow rather than green due to the assumption that you are using all the dressing and eating all the cheese and croutons. *** is better and easier with tracking food in my opinion
Great program, but for those who work from home (or don't work), some of the stuff really doesn't apply.
I really love that “#*** ” are provided. Understanding the behaviors and the “whys” is so enlightening! As we probably all have tried before to lose weight. This program is easy, motivating and fun! Love the recipes and all the new flavors I’ve enjoyed. My personal coach is a delight!
I am not a good group member. It seems to be a real challenge to delve into. But everything else is awesome! Leading me to a new me!
I think Noom is great! I have been following the program reading my material every day and doing my best to keep within my calorie budget and I am now down 10 pounds! Noom gives me the accountability that Inhave been lacking along with the tools to help me reach my goal.
I've had a good experience with Noom. I really like and value the daily articles and PsychTricks/Tips that help change your mindset and relationship to food. I think that's the most effective part of the Noom app personally; the psychology behind why and what and when you eat really resonates. I've had success in the past with programs like *** that, while effective, were unsustainable and ended up leading to all or nothing or deprivation thinking about food, which I don't find helpful or healthy in the long run.
I don't use the Group function on the Noom app that much because it's not a forum that motivates me; there's nothing wrong with my group and its members, but I don't care for social media/group feeds in general, so I just check in if the Group Coach posts something, but otherwise, do my own logging/commitment journaling, which works great for me.
Like any app, it won't do the work for you, so you have to login and engage. That said, I've found it helpful that the previous day's articles are still available (even if you don't save them), so when I've been traveling for work and get behind, I can easily go back and read through the days I missed and get back on track. Overall, very user friendly and helpful -- thanks for making it about the mind/body connection vs. a collection of fads/food trends!
I like it. It gives you a ton of information that really helps you understand changing habits and what you need to do to loose weight. Hardest part really is changing your habits and making it a daily routine.
