Noom has been GREAT! Disclaimer: I have a background in psychology so the way this app is structured speaks my language. For me it's been more the fact that every day I'm engaging and reminding myself of the tools I already know I have so I actually use them. I've found this way more effective than just logging meals because I'm actively working to change my relationship with food and what I tell myself about this journey.
I don't care much for the coach/group part of it. I think this could be useful for some, but I feel pretty good setting goals myself and for the group part, I'm just not on my phone all day to engage in that part as much.
Give it a try if you've tried other things and they haven't worked. I've modified my pace to slow down weight loss intentionally so it would be more sustainable. I've lost 7 lbs in 7 weeks and haven't felt hungry much at all. In fact, I have more energy now that I'm focusing on eating healthier and more whole foods!

Have never used a weight loss app before or dieted. Noom is great because it explains the psychology of eating and habit formation. Tracking foods is simple and keeps me aware of my calorie budget and types of foods that I am eating. The groups are supportive and provide great feedback.

I am having great success since being on NOOM and I am enjoying the different tasks and readings that are provided daily. There so many things to learn about being healthy, lifestyle changes, and the do's and don'ts of eating. One thing that is frustrating is the step counter. It doesn't keep a good step count. It works when it wants which has made my step count way less then what I am doing. Everyday I'm making at the least 5000 steps but I yet to see that or anything higher. I have to wear my Samsung Galaxy watch to give me more accurate data for my steps. More recipes would also be nice because there are a lot of good ones already. Not sure how often personal coaches are suppose to interact with you but I think they should do more. One response a day is not enough and I now feel like I'm bothering her if I need to ask questions. I have to wait till the next day to get a response even if I ask the question at 8 or 9 in the morning. Overall, this is a great program and can really help you lose weight if you committed. You MUST want it to get it and NOOM will help you along the wait!!

I've really been finding this app useful. I like the coach and group support, as well as the helpful articles that don't just give me tips on what to do, but WHY their suggestions are important on my journey to weight loss and better health. I find the weight and color-coded food logging to be helpful in terms of keeping me accountable and on track. I do wish that the app itself were a bit more robust in a few ways, such as being able to see what color a food is within the search function, as opposed to having to log it and find out on the "analysis" screen. It would also be nice if within the group chat feature, users were able to save threads or pin them to the top of the screen (e.g., a group thread where recipes or exercise strategies are shared). Overall, these are minor details that, while they would make the experience easier or more enjoyable, are not deal-breakers for me. I'm going into week 6 today and am down about 13 pounds total, and thanks to Noom I feel equipped to not only continue losing but also maintain the weight loss through healthy lifestyle choices.

I did enjoy the articles and the basic green/yellow/red system. My goal specialist was a joke, cutting and pasting to the point it often didn’t even make sense. Being forced to share my answers with my “support group” caused me to quit doing the activities. My group had 50 plus members; I was expecting a smaller group where we might get to know each other.
The scanning device was almost never accurate and I found meals much harder to log than on my free app.
I’m sure it has benefits for some people but I found it most definitely not worth the money.

I think the idea is great and it works for some people, but this wasn’t a great motivational tool for me. I’m also disappointed about the 3 month fee vs month to month to begin with. I forgot to cancel and now I’ve spent $130 on something I don’t use.

After hearing good things about this program, I signed up for a free trial. After that, life happened and I didn’t sign into the app for two weeks. I went to cancel to find that my free trial ended on 4/30 and I was charged for eight months. I had no clue I would be charged for such a large chunk of time and that they would be so inflexible about refunding. As it was 5/1, I reached out to customer service to see if they could refund my money. Clearly I hadn’t interacted on their platform at all. Instead, I was told their policy was clear (it wasn’t) and that there was nothing they could do. I feel this is a very predatory practice because they (1) are NOT clear about pricing and giving no refunds up front and (2) are relying on people forgetting the deadline for cancelling. If I had actually received a service, I would understand but I never did. I will not be recommending them to anyone and actively steering people away until they make this right.

This is the best weight loss behavior modification I have ever tried. I love the daily lessons, the weigh in and especially logging in my food. More than just weight loss - I feel better and am certainly eating MUCH healthier than ever before. LOVE NOOM!!

I have fought the Battle of weight for many years and tried a lot of programs.
Noom is working for me. The key is the day-to-day psychological approach that the program is working on. Yes it's about the food and eating the right things and being healthy but it's more about setting yourself psychologically to make the life style changes you need. I never could do that before. Finally I have the encouragement and the plan behind it, along with being held accountable to be successful. Thank you noom

The science and psychology behind the program is amazing. The coach really does check in and the tips are excellent. The group makes it personal. As close to a personal trainer/ psychologist as you can get without the high costs

Great support, accountability and education. Long term results seem feasible. Sticking to it.

I have been doing Noom for 5 weeks. I like ththe interaction, I like the support. It is more then a diet plan, it is a life changing, change way of thinking, way you eat. No food restrictions. And the humor is awesome

I love this app. It has a ton of information and support items. The coaches are amazing. It is super simple to use.

I have been using Noom for a month now. My weight loss has not been a steady downhill journey, but the information provided daily is keeping me motivated. I BELIEVE I will see my big picture come to fruition.

Love Noom, I’m obsessed. It has changed me from the inside out. Weight loss is just a fraction of what I have achieved with Noom. (16 lbs in 5 weeks.....so insane that I’m saying that!) I actually think this weight will stay off because I have changed on the inside too. I no longer have the guilt and shame associated with food that I’ve had all my life. I’m focused on my big picture motivation rather than counting points or demonizing carbs. Wish I would have done Noom earlier in my life.

As a former bariatric (weight loss) physician I find the program to be well designed. The psychological interventions are well presented, well designed and progressive. inclusion of a group and coaches are helpful. (though not as robust as it could be). The approach of emphasis on low calorie density foods but not to the exclusion of all else seems sound. Personally I have found the documentation to be easy and although not flawless, it is good enough to encourage healthy diet and effective calorie restriction. The "personalized" exercise program was helpful, the diet plan not so much. I would highly recommend this program.

Love this program overall. Just think the food logging portion needs to be quicker about adding new items to the list as I have a few things I have added and I still have to enter it manually or find a similar product to put in its place because it does not even save anything new that you enter

So far, so good! I'm down 12 pounds in 5 weeks. I love the food logging part. It's so easy to find any food out there! I can also easily choose the type of portion I used. The articles are short and precise. I have a coach and a team! It's working for me! I'm 68.

I've been using the Noom program for dieting. While I'm on the old side of their target demographic, 61, I've been in IT since 1981 and the reviews that it is for 20 and 30 somethings who are constantly on their phone, didn't scare me off. Also, my husband does 95%+ of the shopping and cooking because of *** and Spine problems I've had for 15 years.
While I haven't lost as much as I'd like in the 5 weeks, the program makes a lot of sense. It helps me take our existing eating habits and change them to be healthier. Many of the suggestions are things I'm already doing, like cutting out carbonated beverages but there are also topics that I'm not as familiar with such as enzymes. And yes, sometimes I have to struggle to get it all in for a given day, I am making it a priority and I'm looking forward to making my goal.

I think the app is very useful in the struggle to lose weight. The psyche approach is unique. I haven’t come across that approach in other plans I have tried. I have learned a lot for instance that a person is more likely to over eat in a group rather than when eating alone. I did not know about grulin and leptin.
Technically you have room to grow. 1st it would be very useful for the app to cross over all devices used by one person. 2nd I would like to be able to look up calorie counts for different foods in a separate spot on the app rather than going into record foods and then delete what ever I was searching for when I saw the calorie count. Meal planning would be more efficient. 3rd Calorie counts vary on several food for the same item. Example: lamb chops and lamb( finding lamb chops under the general heading of lamb). I do like having the brand name product available on many items such as TJ olive spread. Over all it is a great app. .
