Optima Tax Relief LLC Reviews (1115)

Very good company to work with. Always punctual with great follow-up. I would definitely recommend Optima.

I reluctantly called Optima a year after I had a bad experience with another tax relief service and I have to admit, they were on point every step of the way. They stayed in communication with me, worked with me to get my documentations in, and called to confirm whenever I sent documentations. Their site makes it extremely convenient to upload the necessary documents and to handle your account. They negotiated a great plan with the IRS very quickly and satisfactory. The entire process took around 6 months with me being free and clear with the IRS. I did not lose an ounce of sleep worrying about my tax situation and I would strongly recommend Optima to anyone in tax trouble.

I am so disappointed that I hired this company to do absolutely nothing that they said they would. They charged me $2000 and after their investigation, said there was nothing they could do for me because my income was too high. That was totally disclosed with IRS documents and verbally before they took my case. They said all they could do was set up a payment plan for me with the IRS and the state. I told him I can set that up myself. I hired them to do principal reduction that they said they were going to. They said my income was too high after the results of their investigation. Again, that was disclosed from the first conversation and the first set of documents I sent them but I was still told they were going to do the principal reduction. Total scam.

Dear [redacted] : Please correct my name to [redacted] not [redacted].
I have reviewed the response from Optima and I am very disappointed with the dishonest remarks they have made to cover up their incompetence. As recent as August the 14th 2015 Optima Tax sent us a letter requesting that we forfeit our rights to remedy from their damage to us. They wanted us to keep our mouths quiet and not say a word about their work. I will attach a copy of their horrible letter to you shortly but Optima had ample time to address our state and local tax. We have documentation not conversation that will demonstrate what they told us when we signed on with them. They have been dishonest and misrepresented the truth numerous times in their letter to you.
For example, Optima report that the state was involved in prior to our contracting Optima. We were not being garnished at the time we contracted with Optima. We contacted Optima in 2014 and nothing is further from the truth that there was a threat of garnishment. The state should have been contacted by Optima in early January of this year as they had our Power of Attorney. We sent Optima letter after letter urging them to contact the state. They failed to do anything. Optima did not contact the state on our behalf and allowed time to run. I urged [redacted] of Optima and [redacted] numerous times that they should contact the state to get a discussion going. Optima failed to do that and that is why the state more than six months later having not heard form our representative (Optima) initiated action to garnish my wages.
The primary reason we sought our Optima is due to the fact that we were told by their sales person [redacted] and their national spokesperson who is on TV every day saying that that they will help the customer avoid garnishment. They failed.  Optima says that we failed to provide completed documents to them in a timely manner. Again Optima is not being truthful. We sent every document Optima requested on time. Optima lost our documents several times and came back to us repeatedly requesting the same documents over and over again. For example, we filed our paperwork for the 2014 filing in plenty of time for Optima to file our taxes on time. Without telling us, Optima was late in filing the document, filed for an extension without informing us that they had.  Then, only after we insisted on asking where the documents were they finally sent them to us for signature well after the tax deadline. The documents were sitting on a staff persons desk for who knows how long. There is no basis for them to ever report that we were late nor is there evidence to support their claim that we were.
If Optima had done anything at all on our behalf we would not have been garnished. They failed to contact the state on our behalf. I requested as recent as last week an accounting of all work done on our behalf with the state and a record of contact they have made with the state since we signed on with them last year. We have not received any documentation that would let us know they did anything on our behalf. We asked for evidence to support their work for us. We have received nothing and have paid a ton of money for a 2014 tax return filing that was delinquent.
We submitted all information requested on time and in order. We never heard from Optima about what the status was on our behalf.  They changed our representatives twice with not progress or communication that they were doing so..[redacted] of Optima told us as recent as 3 weeks ago that Optima would work to negotiate a reduction in the garnishment from 100%v to 50%. Now he is telling us they cannot do anything for us? We went with Optima with hopes of having them present an Offer In Compromise to the IRS for hardship reasons. Optima said they would explore all options and yet we have had no conversations about this. Rather, Optima  never considered a hardship while they have all of our financial information that will demonstrate we will not be able to pay this off in my lifetime. I will be able to work perhaps another 36 months and hope my health affords that.  They called us to discuss a payment plan to the IRS. With what funds?
Optima is dishonest in their representation of facts and truth. They have not resolved our case and to date we know of nothing that has been done on our behalf.

Calling Optima Tax Relief was the best decision I have ever made. After many years of sleepless nights dealing with the IRS, I finally can breathe. I owed back taxes and my payment plan with the IRS wasn't even paying the interest they were charging me. I contacted Optima and my days of dealing with hours of sitting on hold with the IRS is over! I am so grateful to Anastasia, Dorian (my case manager) and The Tax Team!!! They are Outstanding! No false promises, just honesty and results!!!

very good

SUMMARY -
Optima...

Tax's management contacted the client to address his
concerns and the client is satisfied with the outcome.

RESPONSE
-
Optima Tax’s management has made contact with the client to
address his concerns as outlined in the complaint. Our services are broken down
into two phases, an Investigation Phase and the Resolution Phase. Although the
client did provide us with information about his unfortunate liability, one of
the main reasons we perform an Investigation is to discover all the stipulations
the IRS has made. In addition, we investigate whether the IRS has accurately
determined the client’s tax liability, so that Optima Tax can formulate the
best options to resolve the client’s overall liability. Ultimately, performing
our Investigation allows us to obtain an overall understanding of the
complexity of a case, which is the foundation for the actions we take in the
Resolution Phase. We thoroughly educated the client on our two Phase approach
prior to commencing our services. After we completed our Investigation we
presented the client with our findings. Although the information we presented
was virtually the same, we none the less successfully obtained a stay of
collections, as the client was deep into collection activity. Based off the
complexity of the client’s case, he would require a team of Tax Professionals
and Tax Attorneys to be assigned to his case in order to resolve his liability,
and this required a high retainer fee for the Resolution Phase.  Although it’s unfortunate the client decided
to move in a different direction we are pleased to say that we came to a mutual
resolve that satisfied both the client and Optima Tax
Relief.

At Optima
Tax we strive to uphold the philosophy that "clients come first" and
all of our representatives go through rigorous training to assure we abide by
that philosophy. We take all complaints very seriously, and we do our best to
turn them around when possible. Optima Tax believes it has addressed the
client's concerns appropriately and considers the matter closed. Please do
not hesitate to contact Optima Tax with any questions. Thank you.

Optima Tax's management is still making continuous attempts to
contact the client. However; after leaving multiple messages and sending
multiple emails, we have yet to receive a response. It is unfortunate that the
client is displeased with our services as we had attempted to address this
matter previously. For the record, Optima Tax has complied with the client’s
request and has cancelled her case.
As the
client correctly stated, after Optima Tax completed the initial investigation,
we presented her with our findings. Any information Optima Tax conveyed to the
client came straight from the Internal Revenue Service. There are times the
information we obtain from the IRS is not 100% accurate or fully updated in
their system. If there are any discrepancies regarding the unpaid balances, Optima Tax will resolve that during our Resolution
Phase. Unfortunately, the client had cancelled her case before we could reach
that stage of services. We’ll continue to make efforts to contact the client,
however, without her involvement; we will be unable to address her concerns
directly. Optima Tax is willing to engage in conversation with the client and
hopes that the parties can come to a mutual understanding.

Although the client may feel that he had presented his situation in detail to the Tax Associate, he was nonetheless given a thorough breakdown of our approach and was made aware of the fact that the initial phase is strictly an information gathering phase. The client was clearly made aware that the initial phase was where Optima Tax would gather all information from the IRS in order to formulate a resolution plan for the second phase, the Resolution Phase. It was explained to the Client that any potential resolutions Optima Tax deemed as a possibility for him would be presented to him accordingly. Furthermore, it was explained to the Client that each phase had a separate specific fee associated with that phase. Knowing this information the Client chose to enroll and signed our Client Services Agreement and paid the initial fee for the Investigation Phase services.   As stated in our initial response, prior to his enrollment the client had been given the Client Services Agreement for review and had went through a voice Recorded Verification Call to confirm the client understood the services Optima Tax would provide. After the call was complete the client gave us a satisfactory rating demonstrating that he understood the Investigation Services to be provided to him during the Investigation Phase.  It’s unfortunate that the client has yet to return any of our messages or email correspondence to discuss this matter in detail, however, we will continue our efforts until a mutual resolve is met.

Optima Tax Relief serviced my tax issues in a very professional manner. I was very pleased with my tax resolution. I highly recommend their services.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I am not satisfied with their response because the first page of the contract that I signed stated Federal/State Taxes. If, the Sate was not mentioned on the very first page of the contract that I signed I would have never signed it. If Optimum Tax Relief had stated to me that they were only going provide me with information regarding how to handle my State taxes on my own, then I would have advised them to stop the process with my Federal taxes, requested a refund and contacted the Revdex.com. When I first brought up my concerns regarding my State taxes (June 2014) to the the representative and the Manager regarding them not handling my State Taxes, I advised them that I was going to file a complaint with the Revdex.com and that's when I was told that they were going to handle my State taxes. As a consumer with a good head or her shoulder it does not make any sense as to why I would contact any company to handle only my Federal taxes only and not my State. I have reached out to other companies just to inquire how much they would charge for the amount of tax debt that I owed for both Federal and State at that time and I was quoted prices less than what I paid Optimum to handle my Federal taxes. These companies also advised that when you owe Federal and State taxes they work hand in hand and it's better to handle them with the same company. When I started this process with Optimum I was not in collections with my Federal and State taxes and now my State taxes are with a collection agency steadily accruing interest.  I would fax all of the documents to the representative that I was working with regarding my State taxes being in collections and she contacted them on my behalf. Whenever I would call and  speak with the young lady (who was very professional and nice) who was working my case, she would tell me that they are working on the Federal and once they finished with the Federal then they would work on my State.  Again proving my point that I was advised in June 2014 that they would handle my State taxes because of the miscommunication with very first young lady that I started this process with. I was not told that they were not going to handle my State taxes until they contacted me in March 2015 to advised that my Federal taxes had been completed and that's why I filed my complaint. I am not a tax attorney and have no clue how to negotiate with them to have them agree to an Offer in Compromise or have the remove the penalties. Since filing this complaint, the manager of he Optimum called and left message regarding this complaint on Thursday 4/23/15 advising what he was sending to your company. I called him back 3 business days later and left a message(Tuesday 04/28/15/). I have not heard back from him as of yet I am pleased with the professionalism and the work that they have done with my Federal taxes. Everyone that I came in contact with at Optimum was very nice and professional to me at all times. All I want at this point is for Optimum to do the right thing and finished what they started which is the completion of my State taxes. Thank you for your time.

[It is true that Optima Tax Relief has reached out and left a voicemail and email on September 9th to which I responded via call on September 12th and emailed on September 16th.  I was told on September 12th that Mr. [redacted]r wasn't in , but will be returning calls.  I was informed that since he leaves the office at 330pm (PST) on the weekdays and I get of work about the same time (Central Time), they will try to assign my complaint to someone else.  I haven't heard back from any.  I have directly called the IRS three times from the time Optima Tax revoked the power of attorney.  I was informed by IRS Agent #[redacted] and Agent#[redacted] that there has no Installment Agreement in place.  The IRS has confirmed that the Agreement has only been received on September 7th.  Could you please show any documentation on your end confirming that the IRS has received or processed my Installment Agreement as you claimed in April and July? As an entity representing clients like me, it is your duty not only to INFORM about the penalties that will accrue while the balance has not been paid, but also to find ways how to prevent this or to stop the bleeding.  You have taken my financial assessment several times and in fact informed me that an Offer in Compromise (to lower my taxes) is not possible since I have investments to cover what I owed.  Why then let me wait for a result that you knew was imminent and not suggest to pay off the taxes?  Would that have been more of a TAX RELIEF to me?]

Making the decision to seek out their help, was the best decision we have made. I would recommend them to anyone who is in need of tax help. We are oh so grateful. Thank you Optima for your professional help.

OPTIMA OFFERED ME 150.OO DOLLARS TO WALK AWAY  EVEN THOUGH I WAS AT FAULT OPTIMA DID NOTHING FOR THE 995.00 DOLLARS  THEY STILL WANTED 4000.00 DOLLARS TO REVIEW MY CASE  THAT IS ALL I HAVE TO REPORT  [redacted]

SUMMARY - Optima Tax's management has attempted to contact the client in order to address his dissatisfaction but he has been unresponsive.   RESPONSE - Optima Tax’s management has made multiple attempts to establish communication with the client so we can address his concerns, but he has yet...

to return any of our messages or reply to any of our emails. We will continue our efforts until communication is established and we come to a mutual resolve. Although it is possible for Optima Tax to obtain a release of a bank levy or wage garnishment during the short time period of our Investigation Phase, such result is dependent upon numerous factors within the client’s case file. However, Optima Tax does not make any specific guarantees to any outcome when dealing with various enforcement actions by the IRS. In the event that Optima Tax is unsuccessful in obtaining a release during our short Investigation Phase, any wage garnishment or bank levy will be addressed in our Resolution Phase. Unfortunately, under the circumstances of the client’s case we were unable to obtain a release of the levy within the short time frame that the client desired. However, we did obtain a temporary stay which would allow Optima Tax the time to begin the critical Resolution Phase work that could lead to the client’s desired result.  We are very understanding to the client concerns but at no point did we delay his case outside our no refund policy. Optima Tax stands by its refund promise and in no way would deny a client their request when it is made within the refund time frame. In this case, the client did not make the request for refund within the required time frame. Optima Tax is more than willing to address the client’s concerns, however, without the client’s cooperation we are unable to address his concerns appropriately.  At Optima Tax we strive to uphold the philosophy that "clients come first" and all of our representatives go through rigorous training to assure we abide by that philosophy. We take all complaints very seriously, and we do our best to turn them around when possible. Optima Tax believes it can address the client's concerns and will continue to work with the client to finalizing a mutual resolve. Please do not hesitate to contact Optima Tax with any questions. Thank you.

After trying to get my tax nightmare resolved with another company and failing miserable after spending $5000. I heard an ad on the radio about Optima Tax. That phone call was the best thing I could have ever done. They stopped the harassing phone calls and finally helped me negotiate a solution which Io was comfortable with. I no longer have to walk around worrying about my $25k debt. That's all over now. Their staff was knowledgeable, very informative and definitely professional. They always kept me up to date with the status of my case from start to finish. I would definitely recommend Optima Tax Relief.

A rebuttal was submitted because issues has not been addressed. Two attempts were made on both parties to contact each other but there has been a conflict of times in both attempts. I sent an email with times of availibility and now awaiting a phone call on Tuesday. [redacted]

I have a very good experience with optima tax releif they delivered what they promise.
